Now that we see Jesus is not – A Sure Thing, then, can I be candidate, too?
I told the Three Sisters, and others, that I had died after a fall atop the rock below. There is evidence the Jewish relgion came from India.
There is a book about Stark refuses to post the rest of because he ruled the visit to Assisi “redulous”. With my discovery that the Sanhadrin cursed unborn children in the womb for the sins of the parents, must have made the parents feek they were damned to, and, how much money did they spend tithing, paying for sacrifical animals at the Temple. How many sold themselves into servitude in order to be
FREE OF SIN?
And now you believe becuse you see the evil money making racket off children born with a birthmark – or club foot! An now you believe becuse some of you can see the President of thee United States doing this – and he is a historic figure! Is he?
There’s a family story that says three of John Wieneke daughters married Starks and three entered the convent– from the ridiculuous to the sublime!
In the men’s group after the service a question was put about Jesus going amongst his enemies, and ministering. I told them I won a case against the Mafia – after the tried to murder me. They killed an innocent puppy. A friend asked me to save Dottie Witherspoon, which I did – and her cat – who is with me up a tree! She would walk to the park with us – and play with the dogs! She is ready – to pounce down on the – again! My hair turned readish! Below is a pic of me going to my girlfriend’s sister’s house to try and heal her austistic baby. I held her for a half hour. it was heart rendering. I could see the short circuiting. I was chasing the the rent with my energy that you can see around me. These pics were taken in Christines studio.
Three months later I am holding a Lab puppy who had its throat cut, and it blood smeared on two walls. I cries and cried. I blamed myself for my part, in what Job so masterfully described as our human genius for intrigue.
“The tents of marauders are undisturbed,
and those who provoke God are secure”
My enemies respected me because I was – a stand-up guy!
So, why hold back? Why hide your light under a bushel? It’s God Time! No more dress reheasals!

I marched on Washington D.C. in 1971. I looked like this photo taken two years later. Three years earlier it was much harder to be around people, and they me. I was startling. I had achieved Enlightenment. It was very hard to be me. It was very hard to handle the negative doubt I felt from others. I rarely conversed. They wanted what I had/have. Wanting stirs doubts of un-worthiness. You can see the radiating points of the Manipura radiating from my solar plexus. This energy encircles me, and protects me. People who have tried to hurt me, were repelled by this energy.
Today, millions of evangelical Christians believe they put in the White House, the embodiment of King Solomon, who owned much gold. They want some gold. They smile like happy children because they believe Jesus wants them to own gold, and, that’s why Trump was driven to run – and win! Most of the smiling people won’t get any gold. Most people will not see their Manipura – bloom! For this reason I must speak to you as a Fool. Contact with this Fool, will set you on The Path. Love of Money – will not!
Trump is a convert and messenger of Prosperity Gospel. In his speech he says the Government of the Democrats withheld prosperity – that he will now release and share with the True Believers – for free! This is all they wanted. This is why they tolerate his sins. This is why he invites Putin to come and get some, because, Putin is a convert! Putin is one of the richest men on earth. This is why evangelicals – adore him! They want what he got!
“God makes the faithful rich, and that poverty is punishment for lack of faith.”
This is why evangelical Christians want to build a wall and put poor Latinos on the other side of it. They want proof! They want punishment – now! When do the want it? NOW!
Jon ‘The Nazarite’
Jesus Christ famously said in the New Testament that it was harder for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to pass through the gates of Heaven (Matthew 19:24). Prosperity theology is a strain of Christianity that preaches the opposite: they believe God makes the faithful rich, and that poverty is punishment for lack of faith.
Today (Jan. 20), at US president Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony, two of six clergy members in attendance were prosperity theology preachers. Reverend Paula White is the first female clergy member to participate in an inauguration and a televangelist. Bishop Wayne T. Jackson is an African-American pastor who preaches prosperity at his Detroit church, Great Faith Ministries International.

The Catholic church has been utterly corrupted by Attorney General, William Barr, and President Trump – who holds up a upside-down Bible in front of a Catholic church. Did Barr suggest he do this in order to give Opus Dai and the radical Catholics a MESSAGE, that once again, the Catholic Church launces a crusade against un-believers.
Meher Baba forbid his followers to form a religion around his teaching, but, he said nothing about Saint Francis. Below the photograph with CAUTION you see a cave in the distance. A year after I conversed with Jesus I wrote my novel ‘Where Art Thou?” while sitting before this cave – at my computer screen – and saw The Tree of Life at the back of this cave.

Spiritual Work With Saint Francis
Saint Francis and The Perfect Master
The Key is the book written by Mother Superior Dominic Wieneke wherein is describes the Order’s visit to Assisi where something happened that Stark describes as “ridiculous”. the idea that I may be the embodiment of Saint Francis is not far-fetched considering the spiritual work I have done with Meher Baba since 1967. My book on ‘The Arrest of Jesus’ will change the foundation of Christianity.
There is a huge movement to allow Fathers to get married – and have children! I was destined for the church. I died a virgin, and was reborn a virgin. My daughter is THE TEST! I became enlightened at twenty years of age! I was on my way to India to live as a Sadhguru.

There’s a family story that says three of John Wieneke daughters married Starks and three entered the convent– from the ridiculuous to the sublime! I have a document saying that there were two Stark families near Cedar Rapids, Iowa, related only through the Wieneke’s. Heinrich and Anna Catharina (sp) Kleinschlau Wieneke’s son John (Johan, in our family lore, 12-9-1834) had a sister, Anna Maria (7-23-1832), who married Andrew Stark.

John,
It took me some time to figure out that you had gotten the information through the Briar Cliff history. The biographical information that is there is familiar to me, but I don’t know where you got the question about her journey to Assisi. I have nothing about that and have no knowledge that she went there. If there are other things you want to know you can reach me better by e-mail.

Meher Baba and Saint Francis

“Saint Francis of Assisi was the only one of the very few saints in Europe to become a Perfect Master.”
Just before Jesus died, he said; “I am thirsty.” The first thing I said when I came back to life, after seeing the Lord, was; “I’m thirsty.”
Consider Mary Dominica Wieneke and the Order of Saint Francis. In searching for the Blue Angel that appeared to my sisters while they slept, and Kay Coakley, I look to my aunt, June Rice, who took care of me while I had the hooping cough. I almost died several times. I was eleven. I had turned blue and my fingers were contorted when I came into the living room where my aunt Lillian and uncle Dick were sitting. Lillian screamed, and Dick started hitting me on my back.
When June would come to my bed in her nightgown, I saw a blue glow coming from her abdomen. She could not have a child due to some operations. She and Vinnie treated me like their child, and were my patrons. June was a devout Catholic.
I suspect this blue angel is associated with Mother Mary. I wondered if it was her ghost. But, I believe it is the Angel that came to Saint Francis when he died during a terrible illness, and came back.
I suspect I am the embodiment of Saint Francis. When I read about Baba coming to the true cave of Saint Francis, all of a sudden I had a vision. I was sitting in that cave. I heard the dry summer grass being stepped upon. Suddenly Baba’s face is beaming at me. I reached out my wounded hand and cried;
“Father!”
Not the energy around me (click on photo to enlarge) Christine and Brian took photos of me because Christine wanted to do her first portrait of a male. She developed both rolls, and was shocked to see this energy in every image of me. she did not do my portrait because of it.
Baba told his disciples not to touch him when he came out of the cave. Above is Vicki mocking me while I am doing my secret work. She is reaching out with her finger to touch me while I have my eyes closed.

Beloved Avatar Meher Baba’s Comment on Saint Francis of Assisi:
{1}. On another occasion, Baba revealed to Filis and Adele his four favorite Christian saints,
“My two favorite women saints are Saint Theresa of Avila and Catherine of Siena; my two favorite men, Francis of Assisi and Saint Augustine.”
[LordMEHER 11-3818]
{2}. Do you know how St. Francis of Assisi loved Jesus and became one with him? He loved him as Jesus ought to be loved; but in Francis’s group there was one who was a glutton.
Juniper loved Francis most, though he did not sit in meditation or think of anything. He gave more trouble to Francis than anyone, yet he loved Francis dearly. When we love from the bottom of our hearts we give all our good and bad, even our troubles; the lover gives everything and demands nothing. I give everything and demand nothing.
Love me like that and Baba is your slave. Even if you can’t do that, don’t worry. As long as you are mine, you need not worry. You are mine, that is why I have drawn you such long distances. If you can’t picture me, don’t worry; if you don’t love me, don’t worry; I love you.
-Avatar Meher Baba
[The God-Man Pg.257]
{3}. If you have the love for Me that Saint Francis had for Jesus, then not only will you realize Me but you will please Me.” -Avatar Meher Baba “Saint Francis of Assisi was the only one of the very few saints in Europe to become a Perfect Master.”
*** Meher Baba said Saint Francis was a Perfect Master.
AFTERWARDS he spoke with Ivy Duce, Don Stevens and others about Saint Francis:
Don Stevens asked, “Baba, you have explained in the Discourses, God Speaks and elsewhere that an individual cannot attain God-Realization without the aid of a living Perfect Master. Since there was no Perfect Master in Europe at that time, how did Saint Francis achieve Realization?”
Baba turned to Ivy and asked, “Have you heard of the ancient Sufi prophet, Khwaja Khizr?” She replied that she had heard Rabia Martin speak of him. Baba explained: “Khwaja Khizr now and then takes on a physical body if there is some spiritual situation that absolutely demands it. The Realization of Francis was such a case, because he had no Perfect Master to give him Realization. So, on the night we read about on Mount La Verna, near Assisi, during which St. Francis also received the stigmata [wounds of the Crucified Christ], Khwaja Khizr, in his temporary human form, gave this beloved Western saint the touch of grace which made him a Perfect Soul – a Qutub or Perfect Master.”
[LordMEHER 14-5011]
{4}. BABA WISHED to stay in seclusion for twenty-four hours somewhere in Italy and chose Assisi for the purpose because it was the homeland of Saint Francis. Baba sent Herbert there on August 1st in search of a cave for the seclusion [LordMEHER 5-1688]
{5}.As you know, I need none of you. I can work my will independently, but I have chosen, for my own reasons, a few to help me in that work. But these few need a love and faith as rare as that of Saint Francis [of Assisi]. Let that same love of his for Christ be your goal, and love me as he loved his Master.
-Avatar Meher Baba [LordMEHER 7-2332]
{6}.12th Way -LOVE…If you have that love for Me that St. Francis had for Jesus, then not only will you realize Me, but you will please Me.
[12 ways of realizing me -Meher Baba]
My reason* for believing there is a significant kernel of truth to these theories of Jesus living in India and being buried in Kashmir, is that my master, Meher Baba, said that was the case.
However, Meher Baba was also clear that Jesus was the Avatar of that era. The Avatar is God descended into our realm of cosmic illusion as a man, the ideal or perfect man. Thus he is both God and man simultaneously.
Jesus the Christ The author of this website appears to have a bias (we all have biases) that Jesus was a man only, and that any suggestion that he was divine or of divine origin is a matter of myth. I think his thesis that Jesus’s memory was embellished to make the new religion more palatable to gentiles who were already familiar with similar myths, is plausible. Again, for my bottom-line evaluation, I personally, as a follower of Meher Baba, turn to his explanations rather than to scholarship. (You of course are welcome to give your own weight to various sources.) According to Meher Baba, Jesus was conceived and was born “the usual way,” i.e., the virgin birth was a myth added later on. Jesus did not die from the crucifixion in the sense we usually think of death, but what he did was also not something possible for an ordinary man–he entered the state of Nirvikalpa Samadhi and then returned after the crucifixion, and went to India. If you study the life of Sri Ramakrishna, you will find that he often entered this State, as for example when something would remind him strongly of some particular attribute of God, or when devotional songs were sung in his presence. Nirvikalpa Samadhi is the state of God-Realization or Self-Realization. Jesus, as Avatar, would have had this state along with his ordinary consciousness of being a man, simultaneously. Nirvikalpa Samadhi is only attained by the real death of the limited mind and ego. Jesus already possessed this state of Realization (having been unveiled from it by John the Baptist). So in a sense, Jesus died the real death on the cross, not the faint shadow of it that we consider to be death. One could also say that Jesus was already “dead” in a sense; or one could equally say that he was already beyond death and in the state of being fully alive, so that it was impossible for him to die in the usual sense.** In this sense, whether Jesus took up his same physical body after the crucifixion or didn’t, would not change who Jesus IS one iota. He could take it up again or not take it up again and he would remain the Avatar. In the same way, he was the Avatar before his incarnation as well–“Before Abraham was, I am.” The entire matter is really beyond words to describe adequately, and it comes as no surprise to me how 2,000 years of interpreting and trying to codify it into a rigid doctrine resulted in what has come down to us.
Meher Baba also makes no mention of Jesus being married, but instead refers to him as being single. Comparing events in the life of Meher Baba, the story in the Tomb of Jesus website of the king insisting on Jesus having a companion, and Jesus finally agreeing to allow a woman to assist him, is plausible. However, his having had sexual relations with the woman is not consistent with the behavior of spiritual teachers who have attained this degree of spiritual advancement. I would guess it was assumed on the basis of gossip, by people who could not conceive of a man living with a woman and not having relations with her. If you study the lives of spiritual masters who have achieved this state of consciousness, you find that some of them marry and some do not, but they never get entangled in casual sexual relations. While it is true that spiritual masters of this calibre may have a significant other, very often even this is a chaste relationship. Such was the case with Sri Ramakrishna and his wife Sarada Devi, and one may interpret that it was also the case with St. Francis (who Meher Baba said achieved this state of Nirvikalpa Samadhi) and his beloved Clare.
My main point here is that one must be careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Though it may turn out that Jesus physically survived the crucifixion, and it may also be true that his history was embellished in the manner of myths that had also been applied to other historical figures, this does not mean that he was not an Incarnation of God. It doesn’t necessarily mean that he was simply a prophet, a man, who lived through the crucifixion and then died later as an ordinary man. It also doesn’t mean that there aren’t important truths embedded in the myths that have been preserved as traditional Christian doctrine. It does mean that these myths contain distortion and embellishment, and that it will be a painful and disorienting process for traditional Christians to sort through it and find the truth of it. When the “dust has settled,” I think they will find that Jesus was and is more than traditional Chuch doctrine has portrayed him to be, not less. (Just as the true goal of religion, God-Realization, is much more than living in paradise forever in linear time.) What will emerge, I believe, is not that Jesus was just an ordinary man; nor that he was the only son of an anthropomorphic God. Jesus will finally be let out of both the little conceptual box of materialism, and the little conceptual box of Christian dogma, in which boxes he has been imprisoned for centuries.
For more information on Meher Baba, see my article, “A Tapestry of Meher Baba’s Connections with the West.”
*Another clue is that when Jesus appeared to the disciples, he appears to have had a body with the same wounds. It makes no sense to me that Jesus would have resurrected a body with the wounds. It further makes no sense to me that Thomas would have thrust his hands into the wound in Jesus’s side, literally, as per the Biblical account, simply because no-one who loved Jesus as the disciples did would have caused him excruciating physical pain just to satisfy their own selfish doubts. Therefore the account must be exaggerated (another clear indication of editing in the New Testament). Nonetheless, we are probably safe in assuming that this much is accurate, that Jesus’s body bore the wounds from the crucifixion when he returned. Under those circumstances, it is a much simpler and more logical interpretation that he survived the crucifixion than that his body was supernaturally resurrected.
**My interpretation of the crucifixion, based on studying Meher Baba’s life and teachings, is that Jesus was vicariously taking on the suffering of the world, so as to make the world’s load of karma bearable for us. (Meher Baba said that the Avatar did not take on the karma of the world per se, which I interpret to mean that he took on the suffering that resulted from the karma but not the karma itself.) The external crucifixion of Jesus was thus an outward and visible sign of the real inward crucifixion, of the inner spiritual work that Jesus was doing for humanity and for all of Creation. Thus the real inner crucifixion was much, much more than just the outward event of the physical crucifixion.
“Finally we arrived at Assisi at 5 P.M. to find a rather agitated Herbert waiting for us, because we were three hours late in arriving. After a rather restless and depressing week, he had made most successful arrangements for Baba’s retirement (which he tells in much better words than mine).
“Several kilometers from the town, up in the hills on the slopes of Monte Subasio, lies the famous Hermitage of Carceri built by St. Francis and his fellow monks. Below in the woods are several small caves or retreats where people go for meditation. Herbert discovered one of these half-protected by an outside wall. He had hidden this with branches so that it was difficult to find.
“This was one that was actually used by St. Francis himself. At 6:30 P.M. we had a light meal at the Windsor Hotel and drove in a car most of the way. The last part we walked on foot and, finally, scaled a low wall and plunged into the woods led by Herbert down an intricate winding path.
path.
“The cave we found was an ideal spot and perfectly suited to Baba’s requirements. Herbert had thought out everything with such care that there was nothing left to be desired. Herbert is always very meticulous and careful in all he undertakes. The light was beginning to go a little as we entered the woods. It was just after sunset. I remember the birds and their song dying away gradually.
We settled Baba in and he told us that no one must look at him and, above all, not to touch him.
“It was arranged that Herbert and Chanji were to keep watch outside the cave during the night, to be relieved by Kaka and myself at 9 o’clock the next morning. Baba said that Kaka and I were to go to mass at 7 A.M. the next morning and then we were to kiss the Tomb of St. Francis. We bade them goodnight and found our intricate way out of the woods.
“After mass we shouldered our rucksacks and toiled up the streets through Assisi to the hills of Monte Subasio. As we got out of town, it began to get warmer and warmer.
“Poor Kaka was laden down, and not in such good training as I, so we had to stop from time to time for him to rest and get his breath and cool off. At last we arrived, a little late —about 9:15, and we were glad to reach the cool shade of the wood where we found Herbert and Chanji waiting for as after a wakeful night.
“Nothing had transpired and there had been no interruptions of the calm and peace which pervaded the woods. We settled down to our vigil outside the cave. Herbert and Chanji returned to Assisi to rest.
“The sun rose higher, but we were well shaded from the heat by the trees. An intense calm was everywhere, but the woods were alive with birds whose song was deafening. As if in memory of St. Francis, they seemed to throng around us. Butterflies were often near; several lit on our hands and bodies.
“Gradually it grew warmer, and even in the deep shade, one felt the heat of midsummer.
“Towards midday I heard sounds from inside the cave. Forgetting Baba’s instructions about not looking at him, I saw him stand up with his eyes shut and face the sun. He made strange noises. Not daring to look again, I lay quiet.
“At one o’clock he clapped his hands. We pulled away the branches from the entrance. Taking the board he spelt out directions, telling Kaka to go to Assisi and ask Herbert and Chanji to be with him at 4:30, but that I was to call him there.
“Baba came out of the cave but told us not to come near him or touch him. He walked about alone in the woods for half-an-hour and then went into the cave again.

Heather and Eutrophia
Posted on December 26, 2014by Royal Rosamond Press

Around 2:30 P.M. on Christmas Day, I opened my computer and showed Marilyn my post ‘Christmas with Eutrophia’. No sooner did she see the top photo, Mariliyn says;
When my sister Christine was nine, and my sister Vicki, was five, they saw a blue angel standing at the foot of Christine’s bed. I just found this photo of an angel over the head of Mother Dominica, the cousin of my grandmother, Mary Magdalene Rosamond.
And angel appeared above me just before I died. The fight I have with Patrice Hanson, is, she claims the light that surrounded OUR daughter, came from her mother that was like a guardian angel. Wrong! This angel and light comes from the Wieneke family who entered the Order of Saint Francis. That angel guarded MY daughter from the fake father, Randal Delpiano. Why wasn’t there an angel to protect Patrice’s two sons – that I took in to get them away from Randall? This alleged angel-mother did not stop her daughter from bonding with a criminal.
Heather can keep this angel and light, as long as she admits it comes via her real father, and HIS family! The Order is always looking for new members amongst the Wieneke and Starks, because Nuns and Fathers do not produce children. Heather was a candidate – before she was born!

This is a story of how a religious order was helped by an American family who had immigrated from Germany fifty years before. The Wieneke family was given credit for preparing the way for Saint Francis, and, Jesus Christ.

I was hoping John Stark would have posted the rest of the book on ancestry.com. He has not. I tried to get him to give this book to the Sister’ of Briarcliff. John said the book contained accounts that ranged “from the reidulous to the sublime”. You are going to have to cut and past this to url.file:///C:/Users/jongr/Downloads/Mother%20Mary%20Dominica.pdf
Phillipine was a muse to an artist. Her brother studied at Louvain. There is a missing chapter on the “Family Grotto”. I suspect there were sightings here. Please, John, publish the rest of this book!
Members of the Wieneke came in close contact with the Order of Saint Francis that was forced to flee Germany. It appears they were The Keepers of The Miriam Cult. They wanted to spread the Devotion of Mary in America. The Wieneke Family were chosen to be The Messengers. They spoke German in their homes, as did the Sisters. Below is Father John, and his three sisters born from the same womb. My mother wanted me to become a Franciscan Monk. Her mother, Mary Magdalene Rosamond, said I was destined for the church. These are her cousins, and the sibings of Eutropia. The name Philippine is a German. In German the meaning of the name Philippine is: loves horses. There is a scene of the Wienekes taking the Sisters to church in their horse and wagon. This is the opening scene to a movie. I see the rolling hills of golden grass. The camera come closer in this Western secene, and everyone is speaking German. That John Kelly came home severely wonded in his fight with the secular evil in Germany, was very important. These Sisters knew their flock, and shen they did not hear from John and Eutropia, they sent an emisary to Ventura By The Sea. This is a Papal Emisary, as you shall read in my newspaper…………..Royal Rosamond Press. My sisters awoke to see a Blue Angel standing at the foot of their bed. There was a High Mass held in the Wieneke home to honor the dying mother who had given birth to the first American Sisters of the Order of Saint Francis. Mary Magdalene of the World Rose Cross

It is all coming together. I suspect my aunt June oppressed my grandmother, Mary Magdalene, who my aunt Lillian was said to be a friend of Annie Besant, who formed ties with the liberal Catholics. Annie would have been enthrawled with the Order of Saint Francis that our kindred were the leaders of.
At my second reading at the Berkeley Psychic Institute the woman reader saw me seated at a great oak oval table. Behind me stood a figure wearing a brown robe with a hood obscuring his face. I am the Master of the Brotherhood of the Rose Cross.
“Do you know who this person is?” she asked.
I see Mary Magdalene sitting on a beach in Ventura, alone. She is becoming enlightened. Everyone around her is holding her back, holding her down – to their level! All the people who have been holding me down, are now visible. I am alone. This is what I feared. Everyone I know played this fear.
Above is the Rosamond crest that depicts roses and a cross. Yu can not use a cross in your coat of arms, unless the family went on Crusade.
Mary Magdalene Rosamond and the Rose Brotherhood arranged the meeting of Rena Christiansen and I on the Venice Beach. We were married in the Cathedral of the Souls.
I now can see both my sisters in my daughter as she becomes unblocked by the idea she has no father, and is a Immaculate Conception.
John Of The Rose Cross

Mrs. Besant and the Liberal Catholic Church
Theosophists who might have cared to wend their way to St. Mary’s Church, Caledonian Road (once a Wesleyan Chapel) on Sunday mornings June 12, 19, and 26, would have been entertained by the spectacle of Dr. Annie Besant, the aged President of the Theosophical Society, preaching on “Believe in the Light.” They would have seen her emerge from the presbytery during a processional hymn, heralded by candle-bearing acolytes, defended by a phalanx of six priests in purple birettas, and supported fore and aft by splendid bejewelled “Bishops” with towering mitres! Clouds of incense enfolded the throng and stifled the adjacent congregation, who were compensated by the rhythmical benedictions, showered from the cruciform movements of the episcopal fingers of Messrs. Arundale and Pigott! A deacon carried a huge pastoral staff to prove that they were true shepherds of souls!
The same march occurs a second time accompanied by the canopied host, held by a Bishop above the vast congregation of kneeling Theosophists; and again a third time to the strains of the final processional hymn.
I do not know what particular “Light” Mrs. Besant wishes her hearers to believe in, but I may express my conviction that the people are brought to this church by the personal authority of Mrs. Annie Besant and no other. It is no inner light that has drawn almost the whole of the Theosophical Society into this church, which was built up on “orders” obtained by bad faith and was forced upon the deluded Society by sophistry, besantry, and artifice unequalled in modern ecclesiastical history. It was, I believe, the conception of Mr. Wedgwood, aided by the powerful Leadbeater; but Annie Besant gave the word, and her word is law.

Bishops (from left): Adriaan Mazel, George Arundale, James Wedgwood, and Frank Pigott at George Arundale’s consecration as a Bishop, Huizen, 1925. Mrs Besant stands between Arundale and Wedgwood.
The service I witnessed on June 19 lasted two hours, and was accompanied by all the ritual familiar to the Roman Church, with Modernist changes. A portrait of “the Master” hangs over the illuminated altar and is suggestive of a composite of Christ and Krishnamurti!
The name “Christ our Lord” is used frequently in the liturgy, and occasionally “Jesus Christ our Lord.” Innocent Christians there believe they are worshipping the Gospel Saviour and Teacher. The “gnostic” Theosophists know better; they worship an unknown being whom they say drove out the soul of Jesus, dwelt in his body for three years, and escaped to safety just before the agony of the cross!
They ape the Roman Mass, which they interpret in the Leadbeaterian mode. Mrs. Besant preaches on “Transubstantiation” for fifteen minutes, of which she knows little, believes less, and tells nothing. It is truly a pitiful sight and painful hearing. She takes the sacrament from Mr. Arundale, genuflects before the “real presence,” crosses herself, and does all the acts which she has spent half her life in denouncing, and the other half in surpassing.
Having started out to lead us out of the bondage of ritual into the freedom of Theosophia, Divine Wisdom, she dedicates her closing years to lead us back again into it by the aid of an amateurish pantomime, devoid of historical tradition, sincerity, piety, or beauty.
I say no word of censure for the Roman office, though I do not believe in it; but this Liberal Catholic Church I know to be based on untruth, and built up by a manoeuvre, almost every detail of which I have exposed during ten years of Theosophical contest.
William Loftus Hare “Mrs. Besant and the Liberal Catholic Church” The O. E. Library Critic Vol. XVII, No. 2, September 1927.

On the beach at night – alone

On the Beach at Night Alone
by Walt Whitman
On the beach at night alone,
As the old mother sways her to and fro, singing her husky song,
As I watch the bright stars shining, I think a thought of the clef of the universes, and of the future.
A vast similitude interlocks all,
All spheres, grown, ungrown, small, large, suns, moons, planets
All distances of place however wide,
All distances of time, all inanimate forms,
All souls, all living bodies, though they be ever so different, or in different worlds,
All gaseous, watery, vegetable, mineral processes, the fishes, the brutes,
All nations, colors, barbarisms, civilizations, languages,
All identities that have existed, or may exist, on this globe, or any globe,
All lives and deaths, all of the past, present, future,
This vast similitude spans them, and always has spann’d,
And shall forever span them and compactly hold and enclose them.

This story is part of a group of stories called
Deep dives on cities, architecture, design, real estate, and urban planning.
In 1918, LA Times reporter Grace Kingsley went to visit Krotona, the national headquarters of the Theosophical Society. This idealistic community of around 300 or so was nestled in the hills of Beachwood Canyon, above the expanding village of Hollywood. It featured stunning buildings by some of California’s most influential architects, including Mead & Requa and Arthur and Alfred Heinemen. Like most visitors, Kingsley was quickly enraptured with the mysterious commune’s architecture and beauty:
Away from the hum of the trolley, your climbing automobile will suddenly at a twist in the road, land you in a wonderful garden, facing a picturesque Moorish house which might have been transported from ancient India. Inside the house, instead of the turbaned, white-robed dreamers of India, whom you feel you have every right to expect, you come upon a group of gentle mannered women, all clad in very long dresses. [Outside] you won’t see nor hear any movement … except the birds in the trees, the humming insects in the lazy sunshine, and the daring goldfish in the splashy fountains, while the roses nod to you, and the little Moorish summer houses with their enveloping vines will make you sure you’ve discovered a bit of dreamland.

The Theosophists were dreamers. “Theosophy, in its abstract meaning, is Divine Wisdom,” wrote movement founder Helena P. Blavatsky, who claimed to be a “missionary of ancient knowledge.” An esoteric school of thought that strives to foster universal brotherhood and believes in equality of the sexes, the basic truth of all religion, and “scientific” exploration of the unexplained, the modern Theosophical Society was formed in 1875. The Society soon became popular with educated, middle-to-upper class freethinkers in Europe, America, and India. International headquarters were established (and remain) in Adyar, India, on a campus featuring “Indian and British Colonial” architecture.
In 1906, a charismatic Theosophist from Virginia named Albert Powell Warrington, drawing inspiration from Crotona, the commune of the ancient mathematician Pythagoras, wrote a treaty titled “Prospectus of the Crotona Institute.” In it, he envisioned an idealized Theosophical community centered around an institute of higher learning. This community would be located in a place boasting “a temperate climate, seclusion, accessibility, virgin magnetic conditions, agricultural, forest, mineral and other resources.” Warrington expected the colony to be successful:
There are many people who are tired of the turmoil and bustle of cosmopolitan life, and who would be glad to seek a permanent home under serene conditions, where they would have the assurance of association with cultured people.

After receiving the approval of Blavatsky’s successor, Annie Besantwith the stipulation that the land must be located in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Mexico, or CaliforniaWarrington began looking for the perfect spot for Krotona, now spelled with a K. In 1912, he purchased 10 acres of the former Charles Hastings Ranch, complete with several Victorian-era buildings, in lower Beachwood Canyon. Warrington gushed about the acreage in a letter to Besant on March 21:
The trolley comes within one long block of our site … one can be in the business center of the city in 30 minutes. On the other hand, twenty minutes walk up the canyon will put one entirely outside all building improvements, and tucked in between charmingly wild canyons, one is as if in the wildest and most far-off mountain retreat. I have never known such an extraordinary combination of favorable conditions … We can make the spot a veritable Garden of Eden. Working out of bungalows on the property, the Theosophists quickly began planting “exotic” plants, including eucalyptus, pepper, citrus and olive trees, and date palms. The famously innovative and community-minded architect Arthur S. Heineman, who designed Pasadena’s Bowen Court bungalows and the country’s first motel, San Luis Obispo’s Motel Inn, was hired to draw the original plans for the Krotona Institute. The sketch is dominated by buildings “classical in detail and Romanesque in particular.” The plans were abandoned, and the community grew quickly along more haphazard lines, with architecture reflecting the Theosophist’s “Eastern” inclinations.

Over the next few years, there was a flurry of building activity at Krotona. Wealthy Theosophists supplied money for surrounding acreage and expensive, in-demand architects. The heart of the commune was the Krotona Inn (now Krotona Apartments), designed in 1912 by the highly influential San Diego firm of Mead and Requa. The firm designed many notable California landmarks, including much of downtown Ojai. Requa would also achieve fame for his buildings at San Diego’s Balboa Park. Both Requa’s Moorish proclivities and Mead’s interest in Native American pueblos can be seen in the completed Krotona Inn. Centered around a lush courtyard, the elegant, stucco complex included guest rooms, a dining room and kitchen, offices for the sect’s magazine staff and Krotona officials, a lecture room for many public classes, and a “magnetically charged” esoteric meditation room.

[The Grand Temple of the Rosy Cross. Photo by Cat Vasko.]
The utilitarian science building was where Dr. Strong, a scientist of questionable methods, conducted experiments which could “discern the aura of human bodies.” Not surprisingly, it could “only be seen on those who already study the occult.” Brothers Alfred and Arthur S. Heineman designed the 1914 Grand Temple of the Rosy Cross. This multi-purpose brick building with “Moorish” accents included a 350-seat auditorium and a basement with ample office space. The auditorium is where the “Krotona Service,” a religious exercise combining rituals from many faiths, including Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity, was performed. It was also where lectures on topics like “After Death Experiences of Soldiers Killed in Battle” were open to the curious public.
The private residences of the Theosophists who lived at or adjacent to Krotona were no less impressive. Most of these non-drinking, non-smoking vegetarians lived in the Inn or in efficient Craftsman bungalows. Several of these bungalows were built by the architect Elmer C. Andrus. But many well-off Theosophists commissioned fantastical homes for themselves. There was the socialite Grace Shaw Duff’s famed Tenerythree Moorish houses probably designed by Arthur and Alfred Heinemen, featuring Batchelder tiles, surrounding an open courtyard. Next door was a fantastic Italian garden centered around a lotus pond and crowned with an Indian-style kiosk.
In 1918, this garden was temporarily converted into a 1,500-seat amphitheater by Mrs. Christine Stevenson, a Theosophist who would help found the Hollywood Bowl and the John Anson Ford theater. Stevenson’s production of The Light of Asia, a play recounting the life of Buddha (and featuring modern dances choreographed by the legendary Ruth St. Denis), played to rapt LA audiences for three weeks in the summer of 1918. The play’s massive success cemented the Theosophists’ increasingly warm relationship with the Los Angeles public, who appreciated their kooky neighbors’ artistic contributions and numerous adult education offerings.

[A house on Temple Hill Drive designed by Marie Russak Hotchener. Photo by Cat Vasko.]
No “kookier” buildings could be found in Krotona, or indeed in all of Beachwood Canyon, than the houses built by the fascinating Marie Russak Hotchener. A former New York opera singer turned world-traveling Theosophical lecturer and leader, Marie was also a self-taught amateur architect. Her most famous creation is Moorcrest (which was on the market for $9 million in 2006), the gargantuan, straight-out-of-The Arabian Nights mansion, inhabited at different times by Charlie Chaplin and Mary Astor. While Moorcrest is now almost completely hidden by landscaped foliage, her bizarre Indian-Islamic-Spanish-Modern style can be seen in all its glory at the smaller, but no less delightfully ridiculous house at 6101 Scenic Ave. Marie stayed in Hollywood after the Theosophists moved on, reading horoscopes for many members of the movie colony, including Mary Astor’s one-time fiancé, John Barrymore.

[Krotona 2 in Ojai. Photo by Cat Vasko.]
The city of celluloid dreams soon became too congested and corrupt for the Theosophists of Krotona. In 1924, they moved to a 115-acre estate on the outskirts of Ojai, which they believed was “impregnated with occult and psychic influences.” Here they hired the architect Robert Stacy-Judd, famed for later “Mayan”-style works like Monrovia’s Aztec Hotel, to build the new Krotona 2 in the Spanish-Mission style. Today Krotona 2 is a lovely, quiet Theosophical retreat, comprised of slightly run-down buildings, a trickle of elderly residents, and beautiful, serene gardens.
And what of Krotona 1? It quickly became the stuff of legend. In the summer of 1926, LA Times society columnist Peggy Nye and her best friend were beyond excited when they heard that a “darling café” had opened at the old Krotona Inn. “Of course, we wanted to see what the building looked like that had been the national headquarters of the Theosophists for so long,” Peggy effused. During the visit, they met boyish screen actor Gardner James, who was living in what had until recently been the esoteric meditation room. Peggy described the room that had been left by the Theosophists when they decamped for Ojai two years before.
There is a large dome in the ceiling of the room, with stars and things all lighted indirectly, and there is a Madonna standing on an altar with strange lights coming from the back of some place and making her look positively ethereal. There was a row of push-buttons on the altar, and when we asked Mr. James what they were for, he said that they used to manipulate the chimes. OOOO, can you imagine anything so spooky? Most of the buildings at Krotona 1 were quickly converted into apartments or continued on as private homes, and many still stand today, in various stages of repair. Crammed between the mish-mash of later Beachwood Canyon development, they still delight the eye and seem to be just a bit out of place.

I am going to Ojai.- in my mind and spirit? I might be God. I might not be able to die! Meher Baba went to Ojai – and Krishnamurti! My grandmother knew the leaders of the Theosophic Society. The Rosicrucian’s are here. Conrad Wienke raised bees and sold honey on Route 33.
Last night I looked at my parents, my brother, and my daughter’s family – UNBONING me! Add my sister’s and Rena to the list. This UNBORNING me has been going on – the day I was born! My mother – was the worst! I can not tell you why because there are people trying to steal MY STORY, and….
UNSTORY ME!
HISTORY is about achievement. Meher Baba became THE GOD MAN. I associated with him after I died in 1967 – and came back to life – according to the three Readers at the Berkeley Psychic Institute, who I believe switched tapes of my reading – lest I own them!
Last night I looked at my brother and daughter disowning me, how they reveled in me being a
NOBODY!
Heather Hanson did not call me on Thanksgiving. She and her family are guilty of trying to transfer the history of Christine Rosamond – over to their family. They used me as a doormat – then tried to destroy me! A Judge sold out family history to outsiders – and they destroyed the legacy of the artist…
ROSAMOND
All this DISTRUCTION – elects me – and is proof I died. I was twenty. What would I have ACHIEVED – if I had not died! I wonder and worry about this – all the time.
For years I have searched Zillow for the final resting place for me and my Muse. We are – in Ojai! We are there to SAVE and enhance the history of my grandparents, Royal and Mary Magdalene Rosamond.
Last night I looked at Napoleon’s plan to conquer America, and realized Virginia’s ancestor would have come to the Lousiana Territory and helped DESTROY my Democracy – with the help of Count Cipriani!
In 2017, I discovered the Mallard family, who was close with Joseph Bonapartes, purchased the Geronimo Valley, where my great grandfather, William Stuttmeister, retired. There is no escaping the truth – I own the crux of California History. But, mow than that, I am…
THE GOD OF CALIFORNIA…
At least!
I tried to be – other things. I even tried – to be somebody! On Thanksgiving, as I watched millions of people celebrating Thanksgiving, I saw how much my daughter, and two grandchildren, needed me to be a – BIG FAILURE! Wasn’t Jesus a BIG FAILURE in the eyes of his family and his people? Does Netanyahu believe Jesus – is real? Does he scoff at – the Second Coming? Wouldn’t Jesus go to Gaza and relieve the suffering of human beings, even though they are – HATERS! My family hated me – the day I was born. My father said I was the product of his wife’s – BETRAYAL! Did Victor ever – kiss me?
Last night I made up my mind to claim the State of Lousiana. But, then I realized I was suffering from low-self esteem – due to my upbringing! Also, I found some evidence Virginia may not be alive. no one has answered her phone – for months. People are cunning. I recall when I lost all my cunningness when I died. Consider how my ancestors were uprooted – when they were dead! I’ve been….
UPROOTED!
John ‘The God of California’

Napoleon’s big brother Joseph, ex-King of Spain, likely sired “natural son” Louis Mailliard, whose grandson Adolph lived with both families in New Jersey until doctors advised him to relocate to a healthier climate with his wife Ann Ward & at least 2 children, John & 10 yr old Joseph. In 1868 the trip via Panama took 3 weeks. He had purchased the entire San Geronimo Valley, sight unseen, for the exorbitant amount of $50,000. When he was working in SF for a short time prior to that in 1850, the same land had been sold for a mere $1,000. The home they built (three times) in what would become Woodacre had 18 rooms, 11 fireplaces, 3 conflagrations & many visitors, including Alexander Graham Bell who installed the 1st telephone line in California there – ironic that cell phone reception is still iffy. Ann’s sister Julia visited often & they would sing her composition “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”
http://www.mdhs.org/betsy-bonaparte/author/admin
In 1854 Adolph Maillard bought a large portion of the Valley, but he and his family didn’t move onto the property until 1873. Adolph Maillard was the son of Louis Maillaird, Joseph (brother of Napoleon) Bonparte’s personal secretary. Since the Maillards were closely connected royalty, they were a wealthy family. While Adolph was one of the more better known owners of the valley, the Dickson and Roy families had been around for several decades before him. The Maillards opened a creamery on their piece of property, and gave it their family name. The creamery produced a special “M Butter” that was only sold to gourmet restaurants and bakeries in San Francisco. The creamery drew more attention to the Valley, and meanwhile the population was steadily increasing.
From Mortefontaine to America
Mailliard was not Joseph Bonaparte’s son, although it is sometimes stated that he was. Louis Hypolite Mailliard was born in Mortefontaine, France, on May 22, 1795. In 1798, Joseph bought the château of Mortefontaine, north of Paris. In 1808, Mailliard entered Joseph’s service. He accompanied Joseph when the latter became King of Spain, and stayed with him through the fall of Napoleon’s Empire. In 1815 he fled with Joseph into exile in the United States.
Ranching: It is thought that La Cañada de San Geronimo became a ranching outpost of Mission San Rafael till the fall of the mission system in the 1830s. In the years before California joined the United States, the Valley was settled and grazed by Mexican soldier Rafael Cacho, who was in the area as early as 1839. Cacho transferred ‘Rancho San Geronimo’ to Joseph W. Revere, a naval officer who was the grandson of Paul Revere. The bulk of the land in the Valley then changed hands a number of times before arriving under the ownership of Adolph Mailliard, whose family owned Rancho San Geronimo until the early 1910s. Other ranch families included the Roy and Nunez families, as well as the Dickson and Ottolini families – who are both still operating ranches.
Development: A group of developers under the name the Lagunitas Development Company then purchased from the Mailliard heirs what we now know as Woodacre, San Geronimo, Forest Knolls and Lagunitas. They created the names Woodacre and Forest Knolls in the process of subdividing the Valley. The area grew slowly and mostly consisted of summer homes until development picked up markedly following World War II. The Valley became more suburbanized at this point, until in the late 1960s an exodus of progressive young people from San Francisco changed the character of the area once again.
CHÂTEAU DE MORTEFONTAINE
Château de Mortefontaine, Mortefontaine, Oise, Hauts-de-France
Built between 1600 and 1630, for Philippe Hotman (d.1643), Seigneur de Plailly-Montmélian, whose father (the French Ambassador to Switzerland) bought the estate in 1570. It remained a seigneurial manor until it was purchased in 1798 by Napoleon‘s brother, Joseph-Napoléon Bonaparte (1768-1844) and his wife Marie-Julie Clary as their new home. It was here that the Convention of 1800 was signed that ended a two year quasi naval war fought in the Caribbean between France and the United States….

This house is best associated with…

Lt. Louis-René de Gramont, Comte de Gramont, of Chateau de Mortefontaine
1883-1963
Antoinette (de Rochechouart-Mortemart) Comtesse de Gramont
1893-1972
Bonaparte was very attached to Mortefontaine and he laid out a magnificent park here with tens of follies and faux-ruins plus an assortment of bridges and towers, and underground tunnels that connected one side of the estate to the other – similar to what he laid out at Point Breeze in New Jersey, the first version of which he styled on his beloved Mortefontaine. In 1815, after Napoleon‘s defeat at Waterloo, Joseph made his escape to America, living for the next twenty years at Point Breeze. While he lived in exile, his wife lived here almost permanently until he sold it in 1827. In 1841 Bonaparte was re-united with his wife and lived out his last years at the Palazzo Serristori in Florence.
Bonaparte sold Mortefontaine to Louis-Henri Bourbon, last Prince de Condé, but three years later he was found swinging at the end of a rope. Rumors ran rife that either his revengeful illegitimate daughter, Sophie, had plotted his demise with his Orléanist rival for the French throne, Louis Philippe I, or it was the result of a sexual act gone wrong. Either way, Mortefontaine was soon afterwards inherited by the same illegitimate daughter implicated – but found innocent – in his death. In 1894, retaining the “Petit Parc” she sold the “Grand Parc” to the north of the chateau to the Duke of Gramont and his wife, Marguerite de Rothschild, where they built the palatial Chateau de Vallière.
Mortefontaine remained in Sophie’s family until 1928 when it was sold to Louis-René de Gramont, who grew up the Chateau de Vallière. Having by then fallen into a bad state of repair, he carried out the much needed renovations only to be evicted during the Second World War when it was occupied by the Nazis. Five years later, he sold it to an Order of Dominican Monks and it became a school which operated until 1985 when Mortefonatine was purchased by Monsieur Pontheiu who converted it into a luxury hotel. This eventually failed by about 2004 and today it is once again a private home.

Rosy Pink Road Signs
Posted on October 18, 2022 by Royal Rosamond Press
I took a break from my Road Trip to Ojai where I had Thanksgiving with allot of Wienke folks when I was fifteen. ” I googled ” Ojai Enlightenment” to inform readers about this Mecca. I found an article about Alpenglow which I was going to – repost on. I still wanted to point out how prophetic this post is. I wrote a poem about the Dove and the Branch which is about Jonah whose tomb was blown up by ISIS.
You got to know where your heart is at.
John ‘The Prophet’
Who dare climb
humanities loftiest peak
to capture beauty
adorned in universal peace
Who will take the risk
to own a spiritual transcendence?
Why has no poet or artist gone
to see the treacherous rocks
where from the Rose of the World
was washed away
And with serene brow
and a love for the truth
rendered a work of art
a forgiving sonnet?
Theodoric accepts the challenge
and comes to the Rose Garden
to rescue the beautiful Similde
captured by a dwarf
with an invisible cloak
Brave knights follow
the clue of the crushed roses
and render their foe
visible.
What is there to see
when we chose to rise
above it all
all that is base
lacking grace
and civility?
Youth challenges youth
while wisdom old in years
authors chivalrous poetry
for grandsons un-born
There must be a mystery
and a clue
a broken thread
that marks the point
of no return.
For our destiny awaits
where we dare not go
and we go
to see
if we are truly alive
and are not a mirage
and life a cruel fantasy

The Ark upon the mountain
The Dove and Branch upon the sea
The hammers of iniquity
beat upon my forgotten tomb
I am awake upon the turbulant waters
My enemies cast lots
and blame me for their sins
while God’s friends
read me on the Day of Atonement
so all will be saved
so all will be united in peace
The sun went down on me
so long ago
The vine that grew over my head
has wilted in the desert of forgetfulness
But, there on a mountian
a purple haze
a rosy afterglow
in a King’s rosegarden atop a mount
that bid noble knights to climb hither
that beckon knights to sever a thread
and once again
be brave

Witness the ‘pink moment’ and take a spiritual journey in the Ojai valley
The mysterious alpenglow – an optical phenomenon that materialises as a horizontal glow just after sundown – graces the Ojai valley
ByFionn Davenport20 October 2017 • 10:15am

Sun-splashed Ojai has long been a spiritual magnet for seekers of every description. It might not look too different from other small towns in the Ventura valley, but take a closer look at the clusters of single-storey buildings spaced out along the broad main street and you’ll find an abundance of New Age shops, kooky art galleries and mind-body spas.

I have been thinking of moving back to Oakland, or, Ventura. Ojai crossed my mind.
That’s my grand uncle, Conrad Wieneke, behind the steering wheel of a real big car. He has a ranch on Highway 399, and some houses in Ventura by the Sea where my mother, Rosemary, was born.

Conrad Wieneke, the brother of my grandmother, lived on Highway 399 in Ojai. His sister, Eutrophia Maude Brown, lived on a farm nearby. Mary Magdalene Rosamond lived in one of Conrad’s homes in Ventura. The third photo from the top could have been taken on 399.
What is key, my kindred are modeling. My two aunts are posing with their mother sitting on the runner of a vintage car, and Eutrophia is posing in the bottom photo. These people did not know they are kin to Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor. My later sister, Christine Rosamond Benton, became a famous artist and married into the artistic Benton family. Jessie Benton, the wife of John Fremont, held a salon at Black Point in San Francisco. My first girlfriend, Marilyn Reed, did some modeling when she was thirteen, and fit right in with all the beautiful Rosamond Women.
That is Conrad Wieneke on the Ventura Beach with his three children, and June, Bonnie, Lillian, and Rosemary Rosamond. U.S. Route 399 went from Ventura to Bakersfield. This highway was changed to Route 33.
My sister Christine Rosamond, is modeling Marilyn’s ‘Train Dress’. My ex-wife is wearing Marilyn’s dress at our wedding, where my good friend, Bryan MacLean, played. Bryan was in love with Christine in high school, and played for the rock group ‘Love’. My wife, Mary Ann Tharaldsen, was married to the author, Thomas Pynchon. These folks got their creative roots out on Route 399.
Below is a home movie of my mother at Ventura Beach and Camarillo. This was filmed by a member of the famous Lewis family, whom Rosemary almost married into.

Three years after I got sober, and took the Vow of the Nazarite, I put together a basket honoring Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist. I found a pic of an Arab girl holding a lamb and assigned the name Elizabeth to her. This image became the child I would never have. Ten years later my sixteen year old daughter came into my life. I thought I was going to die – childless – like Zechariah.
The Quran has make a huge mistake! There are two billion Muslims in the world. John was a historic person, while scholars can find no history of Jesus. If you take away Jesus and his mother, Mary, then the usurpation – is abolished. There is – only Elizabeth, and her divine son, that spoke when the priests came to circumcise and name him when he was eight days old.
John ‘The Third Elijah’

Today is the most momentous day in my life. All my hard work has paid off. Ludwig traveled to Ithaca and hung with Cornell philosophers. My cup runneth over. I am so overjoyed that my grandparents can be put in a group of writers and thinkers – forever! I can remove my sister Christine from the literary hell she was thrown in hours after she died. My relationship with the woman I married, is redeemed. We believed in each other.

Pynchon and Philosophy radically reworks our readings of Thomas Pynchon alongside the theoretical perspectives of Wittgenstein, Foucault and Adorno. Rigorous yet readable, Pynchon and Philosophy seeks to recover philosophical readings of Pynchon that work harmoniously, rather than antagonistically, resulting in a wholly fresh approach.

Pynchon and Wittgenstein: Ethics, Relativism and Philosophical Methodology
Perhaps the strongest rationale for a philosophico-literary study intersecting Thomas Pynchon
with Ludwig Wittgenstein is that, in the writings of this philosopher, the very nature of philosophy is
reflexively questioned. Within his lifetime Wittgenstein published a single text, Tractatus
Logico-Philosophicus, influenced by the logical atomists in which he claimed, initially, to have “solved
all the problems of philosophy” (Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus x). However, in 1929 he resumed
lecturing and, following his death in 1951, the world was presented with the unfinished product of
these intervening years: the Philosophical Investigations. While many early studies, and indeed this
biographical overview, present a seemingly bi-polar, bi-tonal Wittgenstein, who enacts a retraction of
the Tractatus in the Philosophical Investigations, a closer examination of Wittgenstein’s notebooks and
intermediate remarks reveals that the latter owes its genesis to a critique of the former and was
developed through an accumulation of thought and a gradual transition.
This piece presents a tripartite analysis of the relationship between the philosophical works of
Ludwig Wittgenstein and the novels of Thomas Pynchon. This is broadly structured around three
schools of Wittgenstein scholarship identified by Guy Kahane et al. as the Orthodox Tractatus, the New
Wittgenstein, and several strands of the Orthodox Investigations (Kahane et al. 4-14). Moving from the
earliest affiliation that Pynchon stages between Wittgenstein and Weissman, the underlying theme lies
in Pynchon’s relationship to ethical relativism as it pertains to Nazism. From this it will become clear
that neither relativism of experience and representation, nor an unbounded relativism of non-committal
John Presco Married Mary Ann Tharaldsen
Posted on December 8, 2020 by Royal Rosamond Press
I married Mary Ann Tharaldsen, the ex-wife of Academy Award Winner, David Seidler, who is also in my family tree, along with Rick Partlow who marred my sister, Christine Rosamond Benton, who was married to the muralist, Garth Benton. Partlow won a Grammy. A Cornell paper says Mary Ann was married to Thomas Pynchon and they lived in the Rockridge on College Avenue near where the Hippie Movement began. The Loading Zone played at the Open Theatre. Lead guitarist, Peter Shapiro, played at our wedding reception. A close friend lived nearby and he was asked to contribute to Oliver Stone’s movie. He was a good friend of Jim Morrison and Michael MacLure who taught poetry across the street from the Art College.
My family were San Francisco Pioneers. Mary Ann’s father came from Norway. My step-daughter, Britt Baumback Murray will be in my family tree. Mary Ann is wearing Marilyn Reed’s ‘Train Dree’ that my sister Christine Rosamond Benton, wore, and Debbie Boone on the cover of her album. Mary Ann discovered the actor, Paul Drake, who played Mick in ‘Sudden Impact’. My friend, Bryan MacLean played at our wedding.
I still admire and love the only woman I married. She found me living and hiding in a little shack working on the fifty drawings of Atlantis. MA lived in Marin. My niece, Shannon Rosamond, read the bad movie script written about her mother. I’m going to use MA’s discovery of me in – our movie about a world famous artist. MA was raving about me, she saying my drawing were worthy of a Master’s Dissertation. She asked me if I was a member of Mensa?
I was blown away when twelve year old Britt showed me her written code after beating the Mother May I machine. I hope our new President will revitalize Gifted Children programs. Britt chose to go to my old school, McCheznie, verses the all white private school in SF. My Stuttmeister-Broderick kin had a house and small farm down the street. Gertrude Stein was a neighbor. I was very proud of my step-daughter for this stellar choice. Our black maid lived nearby and would take Christine home with her on the weekends to stay with the Sisters. At the reception MA danced with my nephew, Cian, when he was about nine. He is ‘The Garden Child’ I did a life-size drawing of MA who did a life-size painting of her good friend, Mimi Farina. I wish I had found time to do a painting of Britt and Mary Ann. Perhaps I will.
After our divorce, I moved downstairs. I remained good friends with MA. One day Britt brought her black girlfriend down to meet me, and show me their cornrow hairdos they just did. I should have become a photographer – along time ago. Her father had her going to the most exclusive private school in SF so she could meet the children of the rich. There had been a legal matter. Looking at these two beauties, was the happy outcome. These beautiful lessons continue to be the highlight of Bay Area History.
It occurs to me why I did not take up photography. I was afraid of becoming a commercial success like my sister, who is depicted as being deluded in saying her gallery ripped her off for millions; when in truth, they only ripped her for $50,000 a year. In this court matter, it never occurred to me me to use Rosamond as a character reference. I just now realize she was the kind of person Mr. Baumbach wanted his daughter to mingle with. The Benton’s were friends of the Getty family. The hut in this painting is more my style. I did this when I was seventeen from memory of the mudflats off the entrance of the Bay Bridge. It is rumored Pynchon lived here. You could only walk to this shack during a special low-tide. How perfect for your average recluse. Note the pier is broken, thus, there is no access to the Recluse, this way. Money can’t buy seclusion like this, because it is……a state of mind. Stoke the potbelly stove. Cue the rain!

The Queens of Avalon
Posted on July 27, 2012 by Royal Rosamond Press

Mary Magdalene Rosamond knew members of the Theosophical Society and visited their retreat in Ojai where her brother, Conrad Wieneke, owned four homes. Mary became a feminist. She might have known Annie Besant. I believe that is Conrad behind the wheel of the huge car.
Besant brought Krishnamurti from India to America and introduced him as ‘The World Teacher’ not unlike the teacher foretold in the Rose of the World prophecy. Krishnamurti had a retreat in Ojai, as did Avatar Meher Baba ‘The Awakener’.
Mary gave birth to four beautiful daughters, June, Bonnie, Rosemary, and Lillian.
My first girlfriend, Marilyn, looks like Mary, they bot having those cheekbones. Rena could pass as Mary’s granddaughter. I was surrounded by beautful woman. I was their champion.
The owners of Catalina Island named its first town Avalon. It was in California a Great Awakening occrured. Here are Tyler Hunt’s people.

La California
Posted on October 5, 2015 by Royal Rosamond Press

The name Belmont comes from Beaumont. Count Leonetto Cirprini named a province in Italy after California, the place he dwelt. He was the first Italian ambassador and fought the Habsburgs as a Forty-Eighter, who I suspect were going to colonize California. Was Belmont going to be the capital of the Italian Unification, and, this is why Carl Janke brought six portable houses around the Cape? Little Italy?
I am going t establish correspondence, and unite the two Californians.
Jon Presco
I will be composing a proposal to the Mayor and City Council of Belmont, suggesting they purchase my newspaper and install it at 901 Waltermire. I will take residence upstairs, and operate the Royal Sardinian Touring Company.
In January of 2021 I bought art supplies with the last Corvid check I received from the United States Government in order to maintain, and further my existence this Great Democracy. Being very poor, I had a taste of what it is like to – have money! This Government Money inspired me t look at ways – I can have more money! Being a theologian, Bohemian, and Historian, I get paid every day – ascetically. Wanting to envision a more material existence, I looked at homes for sale in Belmont California and Crockett. I put my newspaper, Royal Rosamond Press up for sale. I reasoned there were folks in the world with much money, who would want to invest in my – and my gifts! I would continue to write articles for my ex-paper in relative safety. My neighbors in Springfield were threatening me and the cats who came to visit.
I saw myself working on paintings in the sunroom of the the Waltermire house, and writing in the other half of this space. I wanted passerby’s to see a Real Bohemian at work. There would be a potbelly stove where gather the La California Touring Club of Belmont that takes members to our resort in Sardinia – where I hope to have a small writers cottage where I work on my Ian Fleming inspired books. With the Napoleon series, I suspect the interested in the Emperor and his family – will soar! I will be there, waiting for the lovers of history, and the school children.

Last night as I was admiring my post of the history of Crockett, I went to Belmont California to see if they had any interesting homes for sale. Eureka! Is this the future home of Royal Rosamond Press? What was here before? I moved in the daughters of Christine Rosamond Benton. Why not Tyler, too? Our children can experience the miracle the Presco Children created growing up on San Sebastian Avenue in Oakland. Belmont – needs our history – in their Downtown! There is nothing there – there! The same goes for Crockett. If they only knew where the remains of William Janke ended up, after being dug up and evicted from his grave. Did William interact with the children gathered in the giant oak tree? I am going to do a painting of these little people dressed as Bohemians, posing before the Time Machine.

Count Cipriani was born in Centuri Corsica, on October 10,
1812. On his father’s side he is descended from an old Florentine
family of Ghibellines, which after a long struggle with the vitorious
Guelfs, found refgue in Corsica in the fifteenth century. On his
mother’s side he is descended from Saint Francis Caracciolo of
Naples, and thus Saint Aquinas. This struggle inspired Shakespear to
write ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and thus the question “What is in a name?”

West, and knew the ancestor of Rosamond, the ‘Rose of the World.

Anarchists, Jacobites, Masons & Manifest Destiny
The City of Belmont
California was founded by Count Cipriani who appears to be related to
the Anarchists of Italy, who may have had something to do with
Sissi’s assasination. Anarchists Clubs sprang up in Italy in response
to the Hapsburg’s and Austria coming to rule Italy. Opposed by the
Piedmontese and the Milanese, Count Leonetto Cipriani would champion
the cause of a free and democratic Italy.
“A writer hostile to Cipriani accused him of forbidding his
son Italian citizenship because he did not want the boy to be a
subject of an Italy that, after 1882, was allied with the traditional
enemy, Hapsburg Austria. Cipriani seldom forgave and never forgot an
enemy.”
Whether Leonetto Cipriani is related to the infamous Italian
Anarchist, Amilcare Cipriani, I do not know. But, they surely had the
same cause, that would come to shape the culture of San Francisco, if
not the whole Pacific Coast, and not just the Italian community. It
appears that Cipriani was successful in uniting the House
of Savoy with the Bonapartes, and thus the House of Stuart. Prince
Napoleon Joseph Charles Paul of France, Pr Napoléon, married in Turin
in 1859, Princess Clothilde of Savoy daughter of Victor Emanuel. From

the air,” he added, “that I would willingly undertake, if necessary

To another member of the imperial household, Jerome
Bonaparte, ex-king of Westphalia, Cipriani revealed tha the had
considerable investments in California and hinted at receiving
interest of twelve to fifteen percent a month on his money. He also
boasted of his house in Belmont which “out there is considered
magnificent.”
On behalf of the Emperor Napoleon 3, he visited King Victor
Emanuel of Sardinia to explore the possibilities of a matrimonial
arrangement between the ruling houses as a prelude to a political-
military alliance between France and Sardinia. The conversation
eventually turned to Cipriani’s overland journey of 1853, which
apparently had not escaped the king’s notice. “I have heard tell,” he
said, “of a great journey of yours, with you on horseback and camping
out.”
“For eight solid months, Your Majesty,” Cipriani replied,
making certain to include the time he left San Francisco in February
to October, 1853.
“But it is true.” the king continued, “that you led covered
wagons and crossed the Rocky Mountains where there was roads, and
great rivers without any bridges.”
The above is from the ‘California and Overland Diaries of
Count Leonetto Cipriani’. a journey that may constitute the first
cattle drive. What this diary reveals is France’s plan to conquer
Mexico, and perhaps the Western United States.
“Cipriani must have followed with close interest the
activities of Count Raousset-Boulbon and other French filibusters in
the Sonora province of Mexico. The French consul in San Francisco, in
difficulty with the American government for his alleged support of
such filibustering activity, wrote to the Sardinian Ministry of
Foreign Affairs in 1854 that he was grateful (moral) support he was
receiving from Colonel Cipriani. That Cirpiani had entertained some
such expedition in the Sonora is clear from his memoirs though there
is no evidence of any actual participation.”

The Oak of Meher Mont
Posted on December 10, 2017 by Royal Rosamond Press

I posted this in 2009.
“When I awoke yesterday morning, my Angel bid me restore the Shekinah. The day before I had read a theory put forth by Fridrich von Suhtscheck that the story of Parzival is based upon the Song of the Pearl, or, the Hymn of the Pearl, or, the Hymn of Judas Thomas who was born of royal Parthian parents. For the reason Meher Baba was born of a Parthian father, I looked at Sulphur Mountain above Ventura as the new home of the Shekinah, or, the Rosa Mystica.
There is a rose garden atop Sulpher Mountain. Those who wish to connect with the Shekinah on Santa Rosa can see the Channel Islands from Meher (Mithra) Baba’s retreat. Anyone who seeks the light of God and the Rosa Mystica are forbidden to set foot on Santa Rosa Island until the end of the world.”

Update #7 from Sam Ervin
Yesterday, Dec. 8, Buzz and Ginger, Manager/Caretakers, were again at Meher Mount. They learned a lot more about the aftermath of the fire, and the news is troubling and leaves us with considerable uncertainty. I’ll combine the latest news with much of the report from update #6 to give a more complete picture of what we have learned. The “Thomas Fire”, named after St. Thomas Aquinas College because it started near there, has been raging across Ventura County since Monday, Dec. 4, and is still not nearly contained, having burned more than 100,000 acres. It has been driven by winds up to 80 MPH and extremely low humidity. In its first few days it burned the entire area, rural and wilderness, between the towns of Ojai, Santa Paula and Ventura, including all of Sulphur Mountain, where Meher Mount is located. Fire fighters played a role in saving some structures, as did effective weed and fire hazard abatement, as Buzz and Ginger did at
Heather and Eutrophia

Around 2:30 P.M. on Christmas Day, I opened my computer and showed Marilyn my post ‘Christmas with Eutrophia’. No sooner did she see the top photo, Mariliyn says;

- Above is a photo of the Wieneke farm in Iowa. Here Sisters of the Order of Saint Francis were grounded in America after they were forced to flee Germany due to Bismark’s Kulturkampf.

I suggest citizens of the city named after Saint Francis, come to Sardinia for a Bohemian Be-in. Every year there will be a meeting of the Creative Alternative Minds from all over the world. Ways to save the planet will be discussed. Global Warming will be a paramount concern. Pioneers of the Internet can discuss the future of Cyber-Space.

Meher Baba and the God-Intoxicated
Posted on October 11, 2012 by Royal Rosamond Press

Above is a photo of my sister Vicki poised to touch me while I am in a blissful trance. Is she mocking me? Am I mad and deluded to believe I own God-Realization? Should I pick up a gun and Bible and hunker down in my end of the world bunker, instead?
We are on the brink of disaster. If Romney and Ryan take the White House it will be the end of caring for the poor around the world, and the beginning of an evil crusade against Islam.
Meher Baba came to join all religions together in harmony. As the Rose of the World, I took up his cause in 1968. Masts (sadhus) are the God-Intoxicated Ones that many say are just the mad and homeless. In their evil plan to create a have and have not America, the Christian-right will create thousands of sadhus that will flock to the malls and supermarkets with their bowls and blankets. The greedy and vain will have to walk over them as they gleefully buy more stuff to make their friends jealous of them.
In the Christmas scene in Tommy we see my drunken father the Leo who had to be the center of attention, and getting drunk with his family was a way to keep the focus on him. I escaped inward, and my art toured the world in a Red Cross show while in school. Two books and a screen play were written by authors who tried to make my late sister a Art Martyr in her family. They failed. This attempt is incredibly telling. Christine Rosamond was just as damaged by the abuse of our parents, she suffering from mental illness most of her life. Yet, she would go into a trance in order to capture her Beautiful Rosamond Women. Is there a spiritual connection?
The truth is just a touch away. Repent!
In this photo we see a blonde off to the left. This is Vicki’s childhood freind, Pip, who died of accute alcoholism, as did Karen, Vicki’s freind since she was six. Vicki took care of them as they died, she at their side whn they passed. We talked about my little sister’s pain before Icame to Bullhead City to help unite my sober family. We thought it was all over, but, then come that devil, Bill Cornwell, with a bottle of beer in his hand, he born on Vic’s birthday, he hell-bent on getting all the attention – starting with my grandson, Tyler Hunt.
For those who suffer the life-threatening disease of alcoholism, I bid you to take the vow of the Nazarite, and emerse yourself in water.
Jon the Nazarite
Before terminating the seclusion, the fast and the extensive tours for contacting masts, Baba declared that He would touch 7,000 sadhus. This decision did not come as a surprise to some of Baba’s old disciples, as some twenty years ago, while traveling in the Nilgiri hills, Baba had said that He would once contact 7,000 sadhus.
