La Flame – Omaha Beach

Yesterday I discovered my kindred has a gallery in downtown L.A. This morning I read Victoria’s Secret is not holding its annual show. Sales are down. Their fashion, is going out of fashion. The fake news will not broadcast the hundred garbage truck that backed up to the L.A. River and dumped all that sexy stuff down the cement embankment. Then they came, the out of work rapper and hip-hop hipsters, with flame throwers!

And, so it goes!

https://rosamondpress.com/2018/07/09/mary-morton-rosemond-of-iowa/

I found a place for the Lost Painting of The Throw-away Boy. Artists do not throw away other artists. There is always the exception.

http://wildingcran.com/

I moved to L.A. when I was fifteen. The temperature reached a hundred. Waiting for a bus for almost an hour, I realized I was burning up. Several days later I did the painting you see above. This is a melting city ready to burst into flames. The Wilding Cran gallery is having a show titled ‘L.A. Burning’. I slip my painting – in here! Consider it a stowaway.

I was in hell. My sanctuary was the Dwan Gallery. I could not believe my good fortune to find this oasis a half mile from my house. I made a point to go there once a week. I was blown away by Edward Kienholz’ ‘Back Seat Dodge 38’.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Kienholz

I captured my muse, Lara Roozemond, in a un-fashionable moment. I was reminded of Sarah Moon. I immortalized her. I am going to use this image for the cover of my auto-biography ‘Capturing Beauty’.  I want Lara to star in my Bond movie. Naomi and I are kin to Ian Fleming and the artist Augustus John.

After looking at Lara’s brother’s facebook, I came up with a wicker man story where Ski Children are taken from the slopes, put in a giant horse, and burned. I have been called a “lunatic” by people who know nothing about art.

Wilding&Cran talked about Art In Two Cities. Virginia Dwan already did this. It can be done again. I see chartered fights back and forth from L.A. to NY. I see ART Buses picking up art lovers at the airport and taking them to gallery areas. There will be art on the bus, and fashion models who want to be in the Bohemian Hot Spots. In 1972 I lived in the penthouse of an old shoe company. The bathroom was from another century. It was a time machine. Regrettably, it caught fired, and burned down. When I saw the wind throwing walls of flames towards the Getty museum, I worried about the art, and the mural my brother-in-law did. Garth Benton sued Gordon and Ann Getty for painting over the mural he did in their house. Christine Rosamond Benton, was a very successful commercial-fashion artist. She owned two galleries in Carmel.

Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor grew up in John’s house and recalls his paintings on the wall that her uncle, Francis Taylor saved this art and sold it in America. That the Bohemian model, Talitha Getty, and Augustus John, end up in the same family tree – with Ian Fleming – who wanted Richard Burton to star in the first Bond movie establishes a Cultural Icon that needs to be preserved. I am doing my best. The marriage of Christopher Wilding to Aileen Getty appears to be a dynastic union. I give permission for Naomi to take what she can use. She says owning a gallery is in her DNA. Will she take a test?

I get the small, and human scale, Wilding and Cran speak of. It is my study. The present dark age is lifting, and people will begin to define their value and worth via the cities they have built. How the artist and art lovers move in the cityscape, that wants to be a creative and intellectual happening, is to be studied and discovered. Artists in different cities can exchange abodes for a couple of weeks. Transportation should be effortless. City-States can replace the vile plague of Nationalism and destructive politics.

As for a name for this area, I suggest ‘Omaha Beach’. A artist came to L.A. and stayed with Virginia. He said her city looked like “Omaha – with beach!” My muse, was born in Nebraska. She is my model for Victoria Bond who is a sculptress. I am kin to Christopher Lee. Rene is an Aries, and is on fire! I met her at the Venice pier at three in the morning.

“She said, ‘I’ll get you a lawyer, we’ll get you a green card, and everything will be okay.’ I came to stay with her and I never left [California],” Naomi told Art & Understanding Magazine. For nearly two years, she resided with her grandmother and called the experience “amazing.”

In the early 1980s, Taylor met her very first grandson, Caleb Wilding. Caleb was adopted by Christopher Wilding and his wife Aileen Getty after Getty had several unsuccessful pregnancies. “It was traumatic because I really wanted a child,” she told People. After adopting Caleb, Getty did go on to have a successful pregnancy and gave birth to a son, Andrew Wilding.

The dream location is a place in the area around the head of the Afsluitdijk on the Frisian side. The Afsluitdijk as a symbol of the Dutch battle against water, combined with the image of the Horse, as an icon of Fryslân, will undoubtedly become an attraction of international allure.

NW: There were only four or five galleries in this area when we opened two years ago. Now there are something like 28. So it is happening for sure.

MR: What is this area of downtown called?

AC: I’m not sure. I’ve heard it referred to as the Lower Arts District, which sounds pretty good. Also, the Industrial District.

MR: Maybe it’s just the district where there are still stripper bars with neon signs.

NW: Yeah, the hipsters are coming.

MR: The hipsters are coming! The hipsters are coming! Grab your mustache wax! Naomi, I’ve waited an appropriate amount of time to ask you about your grandmother, Elizabeth Taylor. Do you get tired of people identifying you as her granddaughter?

NW: Not since we’ve opened the gallery. I’m pretty anonymous. This kind of community is so far away from Hollywood that nobody really cares. But there are times when it’s relevant. For instance, we want to do an event for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation every year. Next week I’m going to AIDS Watch in D.C., which is a huge HIV/AIDS conference that the foundation sponsors.

MR: Was it your great-grandfather who was an art dealer?

NW: Yes. Francis Taylor had the art gallery at the Beverly Hills Hotel. My mom is an art historian. Anthony assisted his dad in the studio for years. So maybe it’s in the genes.

MR: Do you two think about where you want to be five or ten years down the road?

AC: I think long-term, but Naomi is afraid of jinxing things. I don’t want to go too big. What we have here is a manageable size. It would nice to hire someone. Right now, we do all the work ourselves: We hang the shows, we patch the walls, we paint the walls, we sweep the floors.

The Fleming Collection and Bond St. Gallery

What I have been putting together here is an Art Dynasty of people who share the same DNA, and are ‘Of The Art Blood’. Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, artists, Christine Rosamond and Garth Benton, along with the Fleming family, are in the same tree. Did I leave out the Getty family? How about the Rothschilds?

What really irks folks, is – I am dirt poor! Who do I think I am? Jesus had no money – and he founded a world religion! Now – I am mad! Whatever……..I am the Touchstone! The next two Bond movies – BELONG TO ME!

LOS ANGELES – The Getty and the Rothschild Foundation today announced the creation of the Getty Rothschild Fellowship, which will support innovative scholarship in the history of art, collecting, and conservation, using the collection and resources of both institutions. The fellowship offers art historians, museum professionals, or conservators the opportunity to research and study at both the Getty in Los Angeles and Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire, England. The inaugural fellow is Dr. David Saunders, a foremost expert in the area of conservation science who will work on museum and gallery lighting during the fellowship.

“The Getty and the Rothschild Foundation hold similar values regarding the understanding and conservation of visual art around the world, and it is only appropriate that we would work together to support individuals who demonstrate these values through their research,” says Jim Cuno, president and CEO of the J. Paul Getty Trust. “We are pleased to award the inaugural Getty Rothschild Fellowship to Dr. Saunders, whose work in museum lighting has been of long-standing interest to the Getty Conservation Institute and the Getty Museum.”

The Wicker Man Rides Again!

I have seen some eerie and scary sights, but, when I saw the video of that Frisian Horse out there in no man’s land, it screamed “DEATH!” I can’t believe this THING wasn’t nipped in the bud – right away! Humanity is losing its Critical Factors due to the rise of THE RICH, who stomp the shit out of the Poor Bohemians. Don’t do anything until you consult a Victor Hugo expert. That writer was – flawless!

I’m an actor. Since I can remember I invented costumes and wore them everywhere. I did not give a shit what people thought. Here I am putting the kibosh on the GIANT portrait of Ken Kesey, who I saw MOUNTING Cees’ monument, while on acid, and riding away! The rich – are not creative! Where did you get this idea? This is why they back Bohemians, giving them as little as possible unless you – ruin them!

Here is Holland’s first epic movie. One winter day, a giant wicker man goes about collecting ‘The Rich Snow Children’. He fills himself with them, then takes them to the lowlands, and puts them in the Giant Wicker Horse. The Lowland Darklings, have collected wood for the bonfire. They light it up, get naked, and have an orgy.  The horse and rider take off down the highway in a ball of fire! The screams of the Snow Children, fade. The charred steel horse returns, and takes his place on the burning ground again

Come sunrise, the mountains has laid a fresh carpet of snow. It is so quiet, Here and there you find a designer snow cap or two. The ski chairs sway slightly in the morning breeze. The ravens descend, and peck at the half eaten croissant.

FINIS

I think this will get me banned in Holland and Switzerland.

The Imperial Riding Cup

This is what got me in trouble. This was the other post on Lara’s favbook. I think she, and her friends took this personal, because they take everything personal. I looked at her brother’s facebook, and he is one of The Children of the Snow’ who dare not share any thought lets the other Snow Chilfren freeze him out. The are all Clean Slates. They leave it all up to the debauched Amricans. They’re Trophy Children waiting for their parensts to die, and get their Sterile Stages, full of money. I connect Lara with some of the worlds most famous models – of yesterday, including Nina Dyer who was married to the Aga Khan, one of the richest men in the world. He bought her a Jaguar, that was recently found and restored, She is Tracy Bond. THIS IS HIGH DRAMA. But, these are the Frozen Children of the Euro Rich, and, Nina kills herself because they left her ON EMPTY! I was tying Method Acting by putting myself in The Mind of Lara. How risky to turn Bond into a woman. Is she like him, a Mananizer? I set Lara up for a real acting part. Do Nina!!!!

Do a Euro version of Christine! I did not know about Cees’ obsession with Royal Frisian Horses. I got his daughter believing she is the Queen of the Centaur and going into a mad trance saying “I am Arion!” Have the giant horse become possessed by the daughter of the artist who made it who met with a untimely death. The horse attacks cars out on the highway. For fook sake. Do something! Holland has no film industry. Every time Lara is interviewed….”I want to go to New York, Sydney, L.A………………..exct. You are the film industry of Holland!

Bryan and George McLean

Christine 1975 1bryan44 bryanm2hypno38 hypno43 hypno51 hypno71 hypno73

Alas I found Bryan Maclean’s father, George. He was a premiere architect for Hollywood Stars. He built the home my kindred, Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, lived in, and was Godfather at the Christening of her son, Christopher Wilding. George MacClean was a good friend of Robert Stack, who dated Liz. Bryan said he learned to swim in Liz’s pool. Was this pool located at 1375 Beverly Hills Estate Drive?

George was the quintessential Hollywood-Los Angeles architect. He was Howard Roarke to the rich and famous. His house he built for the Trousdale Estates, is the Acme of Southern California success, that is enjoying a new Renaissance. Add to this the murals Garth Benton did for movie stars, and Christine Rosamond’s artwork, and the fact Bryan and Christine were lovers for two months when we were teenagers, then here is the lifestyle many can only dream of.

Bryan had seen the model I made for the house I designed when I was seventeen. He informed me his father was a famous architect. Bryan’s mother was an artist, as was one of her parents. I wish I knew her maiden name. Elizabeth, George, and Bryan were saved and became evangelicals.  George and Bryan removed themselves from the Success Gauntlet.

Christine was married to actor, Rick Partlow, and lived in one of Micky Rooney’s houses. Garth did some acting, and was married to actress Harlee McBride. Tim O’Connor was like a member of our family. His father was a famous actor of the same name.

Michael Wilding was an artist, and thus was the reason Liz married him, in my opinion. Her family were art collectors. She encouraged Michael Jackson to become an artist. Michael Jr. may come out with a Mommy Dearest-like book that inspired the Rosamond Fib that she hid in the closet to paint. Bryan drew Beach Bunnies in our art class. Christine did not show her forbidden artwork to her lover, because this work did not exist.

Liz Taylor championed Gays stricken with AIDS. Her daughter-in-law, Aileen Getty, came down with this fatal disease. The Getty family owns the largest art collection in the world.  We are talking about an Artistic Dynasty.

Sometimes I ask what the purpose of this blog is. The more I dig, the more I find. Wait till you see what I found out about Eric Nord.

A memorial celebration of the life of architect George MacLean is scheduled at noon Wednesday at Bel Air Presbyterian Church in West Los Angeles.

MacLean, who designed shopping centers for the public and mansions for film stars, was 68 when he died of cancer Dec. 1 at his ranch near Hemet. He most recently had pulled away from the Los Angeles social scene, said his longtime friend John Green, the composer and conductor.

At Work Developing Land

“George had been living as an evangelical Christian the past 10 years but he was developing estates on his Hemet property,” Green said.

MacLean was the chief architect for Westlake Village in Los Angeles, the Acapulco Princess Hotel and Estates in Mexico and the International Shopping Bazaar in Freeport,

Elizabeth quickly fell in love. What she didn’t know was that the home, which was made of glass and adobe, was designed by architect George MacLean with her in mind. In her book, An Informal Memoir, Elizabeth describes the unique interior: “One whole wall was built of bark with fern and orchids growing up the bark, and the bar was made of stone. And the fireplace had no chimney. There was a device making the smoke go down under the building and out through the barbecue pit.” Elizabeth also recalled that “You really couldn’t distinguish between the outside and inside. And all the colors I loved—off white, white, natural woods, stone, beigy marble. The pool was so beautiful. There were palm trees and rock formations—it looked like a natural pool, with trees growing out of it. It was the most beautiful house I’ve ever seen.” The state of the art home also featured an intercom, automated doors, light dimmers, automated curtains, and a movie screen. The architect later became godfather to Elizabeth’s son, Christopher.

After Elizabeth put the home on the market, Ingrid Berman toured the home as a potential buyer.

Ms. Taylor’s connection to the fight against AIDS grew deeper still when her daughter-in-law Aileen Getty revealed to the woman she called “Mom” that she had contracted HIV in 1984. Far from turning her back on Getty, Taylor grew even more committed to the cause and saving the life of the daughter-in-law she loved and the mother of two of her grandchildren.

“Without the love of Elizabeth Taylor in my life, I would probably be dead — if not physically, most certainly emotionally,” Getty told The Advocate in 2011. “Mom loved me through my shame and held me tight. This can be very difficult: If you do something wrong, sometimes you feel that you want to be scolded or punished for your actions, as opposed to being loved and supported. Mom just loved me.”

Lara and Sarah

A poem Lara Roozemond wrote allowed me to look at the top pic I got from her video, in a new way. I love it. Lara has transported herself inside the mirror, where Audrey Hepburn is captured. Hepburn looks afraid.

“What are you doing in here? And, what is that energy you are wearing?”

That piece remind me of Sarah Moon, who worked with Silverstien, who took pics of Marilyn.

The three pics are not contrived or flattering which allows us to look closer. The façade is gone, the desired illusion. I want to do this kind of work. I am going nuts with creativity, at the end of my life. I call the three images ‘Renegade Mirror’.

Here is the testimony of Steven Silverstein who met and worked for the real Sarah Moon. Marilyn Reed was a friend of the Silverstein family and posed for a photographic shoot on Malibu Beach, where Steven honed his skills that would make him world famous. I did a painting from this image and gave it to my childhood sweetheart.

“I was broke when I returned but a month later got a call from Sarah Moon whom I had met while in Paris. She asked if I would help her crew with a production in Los Angeles. With the money I made, I bought a new 35mm Nikon and launched the testing I hoped would take me back to Paris. I worked hard at it, working twice a month with two models, Amy and Pam. To support myself I took a job as a waiter but was so bad at it I only lasted a week! As luck would have it, the very day I was fired, I got a call from Warner Bros. Records to do an album cover. I started picking up freelance jobs with more record labels and magazines – A&M Records, Capitol, Playboy and others.”

Here is the real SaraH Moon with the H put back in her name.
