The Savoy Hotel is a luxury hotel located in the Strand in the City of Westminster in central London, England. Built by the impresario Richard D’Oyly Carte with profits from his Gilbert and Sullivan opera productions, it opened on 6 August 1889. It was the first in the Savoy group of hotels and restaurants owned by Carte’s[a] family for over a century. The Savoy was the first hotel in Britain to introduce electric lights throughout the building, electric lifts, bathrooms in most of the lavishly furnished rooms, constant hot and cold running water and many other innovations.
Ralston built the California Theatre on Bush Street in San Francisco, which opened on January 18, 1869.[7][unreliable source?]
His dream was the construction of the Palace Hotel in San Francisco at the corner of New Montgomery and Market.[1] He spent $5 million on its construction, draining his banking empire in the process. John P. Gaynor was the architect and had been instructed by Ralston to study European luxury hotels for inspiration.[8] The hotel opened on October 2, 1875.[9] The hotel had early elevators or “rising rooms” and electric call buttons in the rooms. The hotel survived the 1906 earthquake but was destroyed in the fire that followed. It was rebuilt and reopened in 1909.[9] There is still a Ralston Room in the hotel,[10] off the main corridor to the left.

I beseech your help in dealing with the suicide of my niece, Drew Benton. She took her life on July 23rd, and is in cold storage at the Desert Lawn Funeral Home in Mohave Valley, I am on SSI and a not able to pay for cremation. I was sent papers to sign, but am afraid I might be signing full financial responsibility, and, may lose my SSI. This is not a Family Matter. The probate court appointed Sydney Morris of Buck, Rose, Morris and Heisinger, a powerful law firm in Carmel, where Lawrence Chazen practices law. He is a partner in PlumpJack. Morris sold our artistic legacy to an outsider giving her permission to hire a ghost writer to author Drew and her mothers story, that would be made into a movie. There is a script. My brother told me our nieces would not get money from the book and move, only the art.
Chazen tried to become executor, but he was the No.1 creditor. I suspect he was going to realize profits from the book and movie – that were flops. They failed to generate interest in Christine Rosamond’s waning art. My nieces have had very little to live on. Drew was decorating cakes at Walmart. She helped her father refurbish the murals at the Getty Villas and was a accomplished artist. Her mother died when she was eight. These outsiders assumed the role of surrogate mothers. They contributed to the mental illness of Drew and Shannon – who had to guess what reality is! Are you confused?
Ask your wife how the trappings of the Movie Industry is detrimental to adults – and children. Drew is kin to Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, whose son, Christopher wilding, married Aileen Getty, thus Drew and I are kin to all members of the Getty family, who are partners of Larry Chazen. This history is too overawing. The Bentons are a historic family. If no one pays to cremated Drew, the mortuary will do so, and a society will spread her ashes – where they see fit.

Jennifer Lynn Siebel Newsom (born June 19, 1974) is an American documentary filmmaker and actress who is the current First Partner of California as the wife of Governor Gavin Newsom. She is the director, writer, and producer of the film Miss Representation (2011), which premiered in the documentary competition at the Sundance Film Festival. The film examines how the media has underrepresented women in positions of power. The Mask You Live In (2015), her second film which she wrote, produced and directed, scrutinizes American society’s definition of masculinity.
During her tenure as the wife of the governor, the role of first lady was retitled “first partner” to be gender inclusive.[3][4][5] She was previously the state’s second lady from 2011 to 2019 and first lady of San Francisco from 2008 to 2011.
Early life and education[edit]
Jennifer Lynn Siebel was born in San Francisco, to Kenneth F. Siebel Jr., an investment manager, and Judy Siebel (née Fritzer), cofounder of the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito.[2] She grew up in the suburb of Ross, California.[6][7][8] She is the second cousin once removed to Thomas Siebel.[9]
Jennifer is the second oldest of five girls and attended Ross Grammar School and The Branson School. At six years old, she was present when a golf cart accidentally ran over her older sister Stacy, killing her.[10] Siebel Newsom has stated that she still feels survivor’s guilt over her sister’s death. During high school, she played varsity basketball, soccer, and tennis.[11] She later graduated with honors from Stanford University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American studies in 1996 and Master of Business Administration in 2001.[citation needed]
At Stanford, she was recruited to play on the women’s soccer team. While pursuing her MBA, Siebel Newsom also studied at the American Conservatory Theater, where she completed a certificate program. After completing her education, Siebel Newsom traveled to Africa, Latin America, and Europe on assignments with Conservation International, a global environmental coalition.[7]

In 2002, Siebel Newsom moved to Hollywood, where she concentrated on building her acting career.[7] Siebel Newsom earned many roles in television, film, and theater. She has appeared on such television shows as Life, Mad Men, Strong Medicine, and Numb3rs.
Miss Representation premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival to mostly positive reviews.[12] The film went on to screen at numerous other festivals, including the San Francisco International Film Festival, Athena Film Festival and won the Audience Award at the Palo Alto International Film Festival. The film interweaves stories from teenage girls with interviews with, among others, Condoleezza Rice, Lisa Ling, Nancy Pelosi, Katie Couric, Rosario Dawson, and Gloria Steinem discussing the media and its message regarding women.[13] On February 10, 2011, Oprah Winfrey announced that she had acquired the film for the OWN Documentary Film Club.[14]
Siebel Newsom raised $101,111 on Kickstarter to fund the production of her second film The Mask You Live In, which premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.[15] Her third film was The Great American Lie.[16] She directed the documentary film Fair Play in 2022.
Siebel Newsom co-founded The Representation Project, an organization which works to end gender stereotypes.[17] The Representation Project’s board members include Jan Yanehiro, Nathan Ballard, Susie McCormick, and Maureen Pelton.[18][19][20] In 2021, The Sacramento Bee revealed that from 2011 to 2018, Siebel Newsom earned $2.3 million from her film work through her nonprofit organization, which had received $800,000 in donations from companies with business before California’s government as her husband Gavin Newsom‘s political career ascended, and continued to draw her salary after he became governor.[21] While the practice is allowed by California law, outside ethics experts expressed concerns about conflicts of interest; a spokesperson for The Representation Project said Siebel Newsom had not overseen fundraising since 2015.[21]

In the early 2000s, Siebel Newsom dated actor George Clooney.[7][22][23]
She met Gavin Newsom on a blind date set up by a mutual friend at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in October 2006.[1] The couple announced their engagement in January 2008.[1] Jennifer and Gavin wed in July of the same year at her parents’ ranch in Stevensville, Montana. The Newsoms have four children.[24][25][26][27]
In 2011, Siebel Newsom and her family moved from San Francisco to Kentfield, where she had grown up.[28] In 2019, Siebel Newsom and her family moved to Fair Oaks, California.[29]
Her sister, Melissa Siebel, is married to Joshua Irwing Schiller, son of Boies Schiller Flexner LLP co-founder Jonathan Schiller.[30]
Siebel Newsom was registered as a Republican until 2008, before re-registering as No Party Preference. Prior to registering as an independent voter, she accidentally registered with the far-right American Independent Party, before correcting her party to “decline to state”.[31]
Siebel Newsom was one of several accusers against Harvey Weinstein in his 2022 Los Angeles criminal rape and sexual assault trial.[32] In November 2022, Siebel Newsom testified in court that, in 2005, Weinstein had raped her in a hotel room, having lured her there under the pretenses of holding a professional discussion about film projects.[33] Weinstein’s attorney claimed what took place was “consensual, transactional sex“.[34] The jury was unable to reach a verdict on Newsom’s accusation and that of one of his other accusers. A mistrial was declared on those charges. However, the jury found Weinstein guilty on three counts pertaining to a third accuser, an Italian model and actress. Weinstein, who was already two years into a 23-year sentence for a rape and sexual assault conviction in New York, faced a 24-year sentence for the Los Angeles verdict as of December 2022.[35]

Today, our cities have been forever enriched by the work of these magnificent artists who were not out to become famous. They gave way more that they received. Their historic contributions can be added on to, if their common philosophy is understood – and harnessed! These men considered themselves Bohemians.
Many city planners and city governments understand that We The People want our downtowns to have a Bohemian flavor and look. This is the recipe that attracts people. Unfortunately, many city governments are hiring outsiders, Bohemian pretenders, who put the Capitalist Quick Buck Masters at the top, and the artist down at the bottom next to Vegetable Stands. These frauds keep saying they are protecting our city history and founding fathers, but – they lie! When my company gets off the ground we will do a through research to see how much history, and Bohemian Culture was bulldozed into the ground. Much can still be saved – if you know how!

Ursuala von der Leyen lived in California from 1992 to 1996. She born five children in the Golden State, including twins, Victoria and Johanna. She went to Standford which is about six miles from Belmont where my German ancestors lived. These five children are Citizens of the United States of America. This fulfills the prophecies I have made in this blog that have got me titled “insane” by my own daughter.
The von der Leyen family is said to have held the name de Petra, meaning “The Rock”, but this is a princely branch named after the castle that is a citidal atop a rock, that looks like Skellig Michael. Rosie’s ancestors owned three castles. They were silk and cotton manufacturers like the Rosamond family.
Rosie and her husband – are the European Union that came to dwell in the land I was born, and the State my kindred Jessie and John Fremont, wrested away for the Habsburgs. I will be composing a paper to Rosie informing her of our rich German heritage in the Bay Area.
When I found the Stuttmeister tomb in Colma near Standford, I put a coin with the image of an angel insides William’s resting place with the image of an angel upon it.

n 1977 she became a student of economics at the University of Göttingen, soon moving to Münster and then the London School of Economics. While studying in London in 1978, she used the pseudonym “Rose Ladson”, because she was seen as a potential target for West German left-wing terrorism.[11] “Röschen” (“Rosie”) has been her nickname since childhood.[12] In 1980, she switched to studying medicine and subsequently enrolled at the Hanover Medical School, where she graduated in 1987 after seven years.[13]
From 1988 to 1992, she worked as an assistant doctor at the Women’s Clinic of the Hanover Medical School. Upon completing her postgraduate studies, she graduated as a Doctor of Medicine in 1991.
From 1992 to 1996, after the birth of twins, she was a housewife in Stanford, California, while her husband was a faculty member of Stanford University.
Within her first year in office, Von der Leyen visited the Bundeswehr troops stationed in Afghanistan three times and oversaw the gradual withdrawal of German soldiers from the country as NATO was winding down its 13-year combat mission ISAF.[32] In summer 2014, she was instrumental in Germany’s decision to resupply the Kurdish Peshmerga fighters with lethal assistance.[33] In September 2015, she signalled that she was open to delaying the withdrawal of 850 German soldiers from Afghanistan beyond 2016 after the Taliban’s surprise seizure of the northern city of Kunduz; German forces used to be based in Kunduz as part of NATO-ledISAF and remain stationed in the north of the country.[34]
Following criticism from German officials of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan‘s military crackdown against Kurdish militants in August 2015, von der Leyen decided to let Germany’s three-year Patriot missile batteries mission to southern Turkey lapse in January 2016 instead of seeking parliamentary approval to extend it. By April 2016, under her leadership, the German Federal Armed Forces announced they would commit 65 million Euro to establish a permanent presence at Incirlik Air Base, as part of Germany’s commitment to the military intervention against ISIL.[35][36][37]
Founding principles[edit]
The name Bundeswehr was first proposed by the former Wehrmacht general and Liberal politician Hasso von Manteuffel. The Iron Cross is its official emblem. It is a symbol that has a long association with the military of Germany. The Schwarzes Kreuz is derived from the black cross insignia of the medieval Teutonic knights; since 1813 the symbol has been used to denote a military decoration for all ranks.
One of the most visible traditions of the modern Bundeswehr is the Großer Zapfenstreich; this is a form of military tattoo that has its origins in the landsknecht era. The FRG reinstated this formal military ceremony in 1952, three years before the foundation of the Bundeswehr. Today it is performed by a military band with 4 fanfare trumpeters and timpani, a corps of drums, up to two escort companies of the Bundeswehr’s Wachbataillon (or another deputized unit) and Torchbearers. TheZapfenstreich is only performed during national celebrations or solemn public commemorations. It can honour distinguished persons present such as the German federal president or provide the conclusion to large military exercises.
Another important tradition in the modern German armed forces is the Gelöbnis; the solemn oath made by conscripts (until 2011) now recruits during basic training and serving professional soldiers. There are two kinds of oath: for conscripts/recruits it is a pledge but it’s a solemn vow for full-time personnel.
The pledge is made annually on 20 July, the date on which a group of Wehrmacht officers attempted to assassinate Adolf Hitler in 1944. Recruits from theBundeswehr’s elite Wachbataillon make their vow (Gelöbnis) at the Bendlerblock in Berlin. This was the headquarters of the resistance but also where the officers were summarily executed following its failure. National commemorations are held nearby within the grounds of the Reichstag. Similar events also take place across the German Republic. Since 2011 (when conscription was placed in abeyance within the Bundesrepublik Deutschland), the wording of the ceremonial vow for full-time recruits and volunteer personnel is:“Ich gelobe, der Bundesrepublik Deutschland treu zu dienen und das Recht und die Freiheit des deutschen Volkes tapfer zu verteidigen.”“I pledge to serve the Federal Republic of Germany loyally and to defend the right and the freedom of the German people bravely.”
The Großer Zapfenstreich (“Grand Tattoo”) is a military ceremony performed in Germany and Austria. It is similar to themilitary tattoo ceremony performed in English-speaking countries, and is the most important ceremonial act executed by the German federal armed forces, the Bundeswehr, and by the Austrian Armed Forces. The Zapfenstreich is performed only during national celebrations and solemn public commemorations, to honour distinguished persons present at such special events. Examples are the farewell ceremony for a German federal president, or at the conclusion of large military exercises. It takes place in the evening hours and consists of a military formation of at least one military band, two platoons of armed infantrymen, and two lines of soldiers carrying torches, in total about 400 men.
Von der Leyen’s website lists an extended stay at Stanford from 1992 to 1996, which includes a period in which she participated in activities at the Graduate School of Business and the Stanford Health Services Hospital Administration.
After she married Heiko, the couple decided in 1992 to decamp for Stanford, California, where he was offered a teaching fellowship. While Heiko taught and conducted research, she set about having children in rapid succession. There, she recalled in a recent conversation, the innovative and flexible social nature of California captivated her and made her ask herself why her own country could not make life easier for working couples with children. By the time the couple returned to Germany a few years later, she was determined that her growing family would try to maintain the positive California attitudes they encountered at Stanford.
“There was — and still is — a long tradition in Germany that if you have a good education, you have access to any job you want – except when you have a child. Then you stay at home. That was the tradition in Germany, that a working woman was a bad thing for a child and much guilt was poured on women,” she said.
In California however, she realized that colleagues around her had support from their partners and simply continued to work happily, juggling parenthood with flourishing careers.
“This was such an eye opener. You realize if you have support you can grow and do things you never even dreamed of. So by the time I came back to Germany I had five children…” she said to a wave of laughter.

When Christine was tirteen, she dated Denny Dent, who later became a member of the Walker Avenue Group where I put my large canvases that I just drove up from Los Angeles along Highway 1 in 1965. In 1974, Rosamond took photographs of me in her studio. She has bonded with Aldo Luando. I suspect she wanted to do her first portrait of a male, and I was chosen.

He was known for his more than 150 film posters, which include The Shawshank Redemption, Blade Runner, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, as well as films in the Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Harry Potter, and Star Wars film series.[1] He also painted album covers, collectibles, and book covers.

It was 40 years ago on New Year”s Day that photographer Edward Weston died at his home on Wildcat Hill in the Carmel Highlands. Despite decades of struggle, during which he never earned more than a few hundred dollars for images that are now regarded as masterworks of 20th century photography, Weston came to be recognized as one of modern photography”s true geniuses.
In the five years since Brett Weston, Edward Weston”s second son, died at the age of 81 at his home on the Kona coast in Hawaii, he too has come to be regarded as a photographic genius in his own right, one whose singular vision and bold abstract landscapes anticipated and paralleled many of the major trends of 20th century art.
Unlike his father, however, Brett Weston achieved substantial wealth during his lifetime. Abetted by the art boom of the late ”70s and ”80s, and the growing recognition of photography as a legitimate art form, many of Weston”s better-known images sold for upwards of $5,000 apiece. In addition, Weston earned hundreds of thousands of dollars from numerous book contracts and the sale of reproductions of his images.
At the time of his passing, Weston left behind an estate valued at well over $2 million and an astonishing archive of some 30,000 photographs, spanning his entire, seven-decade career. Many of these images, all printed by Weston himself, have never been exhibited or reproduced. In order to assure both the value and integrity of his archive, Weston destroyed nearly 7,000 of his negatives-a bold act that defied art-world conventions and that continues to cause much debate and consternation among art historians.
As art historians seek to evaluate Weston”s legacy and influence on 20th-century art and photography, it is Weston”s archive that will form the basis for much of that assessment. In terms of photographic history, the archive is priceless. But in the real world, where everything has a price, the archive and Weston”s legacy have become bones of contention.
For the past year and a half, the county courthouse in Monterey has been the scene of a contentious and oftentimes bitter legal dispute over Brett Weston”s estate and the disposition of his photographic archive-one that could have far-reaching implications for the legacy of Weston”s artistic achievement.
At the center of the dispute is Weston”s long-time agent and friend, Carol Williams, owner and director of the Photography West Gallery in Carmel, and Carmel attorney Sidney Morris, executor for the Weston estate.
The point of contention between Williams and Morris has been the sale of Weston”s entire photographic archive to an Oklahoma banker and art collector named Christian Keesee, as well as the status of ongoing print sales, and a previous publishing contract between Weston and the Photography West Gallery.
At issue is whether the sale to Keesee, which was finalized and approved by the court last summer despite efforts by Williams to overturn the sale, violated Weston”s expressed interests for his archive, and whether the sale will have a negative impact on the value of Weston”s work and its assessment by art historians.
As suggested by a review of the court documents and interviews with many of the principals in the court case, the dispute over Weston”s estate has been a grotesque, acrimonious soap opera, replete with insinuations and outright charges of deception, theft, financial manipulation, malfeasance and mismanagement.
The path to understanding the convoluted and confusing path that led to the sale of Weston”s archive to Keesee, is littered by a host of self-serving half-truths, dissembling and dissimulation by former friends, lovers, acquaintances and art-world associates of Weston that make the parties” motives and the truth difficult to ascertain.
At the center of this legal miasma resides Brett Weston himself, a man who emerges from past interviews and conversations with friends and associates as an enigmatic and incongruous personality, a man whose intentions regarding his archive were never made clear and whose single-minded pursuit of his art often came at the expense of personal and professional relationships.

In looking back at Brett Weston”s life and career as an artist, one is struck by the degree to which his art is inextricably linked to his relationships with women. Married and divorced four times, Weston engaged in countless personal relationships with women, many of whom assisted Weston professionally.
From March of 1959 to August of 1992, less than five months before his death, Weston left as many as 10 wills with 16 codicils, with many of the amendations representing changes in executors and beneficiaries.
According to Morris and former estate co-executor and Weston friend Bob Byers, there were 29 versions of estate plans for Weston during his lifetime, “the common theme being gifts to lady friends and family members and to ultimately take care of [Weston”s daughter and sole heir] Erica,” according to Morris.
For Josephus Daniels, a respected Carmel photography dealer who represents some of Weston”s work, there is knowing amusement in the complicated and messy estate Weston left behind.
“Brett was a very complex fellow yet simplistic in other ways,” says Daniels. “Brett”s world was very rigid and internalized and he had very specific ideas about the world of art and his relation to it.
“The whole family was a dysfunctional family, and Brett had difficult times with relationships,” adds Daniels. “I don”t know if Brett ever lost control [of his archive], but I don”t know if he ever had control of it either.”
Over the years, Weston also vacillated over the disposition of his negatives, with earlier wills stipulating the destruction of any remaining negatives and later wills approving the donation of some negatives to educational institutions. Prior to his death, Weston did donate approximately 12 negatives to the Center For Creative Photography in Tucson, Ariz., and gave another dozen to his brother, the noted photographer Cole Weston. In both cases, all the negatives were sufficiently damaged to prevent future printing. What negatives have survived include several hundred images taken in Hawaii during the latter part of Weston”s life. None of these images are believed to have been printed, and according to Morris, these negatives have been donated to the Center as part of the sale to Keesee with instructions that they may never be printed.
In his final codicil just months before his passing, Weston made one significant change in his will that bears significantly on the sale of his archive to Keesee. After writing numerous wills naming the San Francisco Museum of Modern art as the “remainder trust” beneficiary of his archive, Weston switched to the Center, reportedly through the importuning of Diane Nielsen, a photographer and personal friend who works for the Center, and who was named as a beneficiary of 25 prints in Weston”s will.
That change came as a surprise to some Weston associates who say Weston had a longstanding enmity against the Center over its refusal to purchase his works as it had done for other photographers of equal stature, and its insistence that Weston donate images to the Center instead.
Despite all the changes in Weston”s will over the years, the one constant and concern, all parties agree, was to see to it that his daughter Erica would be provided for.
Given the complex and complicated nature of Weston”s personal life and the uncertainties surrounding his wills, it is not too surprising that his archive should have been in similar disarray.
“In the four years the vault was in my possession, I could not deliver a single requested photograph because I didn”t have it or would have had to break up a portfolio,” says Morris, who says the archive, which was “poorly catalogued,” was twice appraised at around $1.2 million, not including the potential value from publishing and reproduction rights.
As Brett Weston”s primary dealer for the last 13 years of his life, Carol Williams seemed an obvious choice to purchase Weston”s archive. Besides earning Weston hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years, Williams helped broaden the appreciation of Weston”s work through her gallery”s publication of three beautifully produced and highly regarded monographs of Weston images. Those books were published prior to Weston”s death as part of a five-book deal, the remainder of which is currently being disputed by Morris on behalf of the Weston estate.
According to Williams, her personal and professional relationship with Weston gave her unique insight into the man and his art, and Williams remains a passionate and devoted believer in Weston and his artistic legacy. It was Williams” dream, and according to Williams, Brett”s desire as well, to see his work remain in Carmel. Williams says she intended, had she purchased the archive, to sell some of the collection in order to finance construction of a photography center or museum that would pay tribute to the entire Weston family, a family indelibly linked to the Carmel area.
According to Williams, she was approached by Morris in the fall of ”95 to discuss the purchase of the archive.
“Sidney told me it had been decided that the entire vault was going to be sold because Erica wanted money instead of prints,” says Williams.
“I was told by Sidney that Brett would have wanted me to have the [archive] and that he was prepared to do battle for me with Erica,” adds Williams. “What I got from Sidney was he didn”t want the liability and responsibility and management headaches of selling the archive individually.”
According to Morris, the estate had given consideration to managing Weston”s archive itself, but decided that such a time-consuming and complicated endeavor was not worth the potential financial risks and uncertainty.
“We had considered trying to manage the estate and running it as a business, but in view of what we had to deal with, in our opinion to run it as a business entity would have been long and arduous and maybe not successful,” says Morris. “Erica”s lawyers and my lawyers felt it would be in the best interests of the estate to dispose of substantially all of the collection.”
Prior to discussions with Williams, Morris approached the Center For Creative Photography as a possible buyer. As a research and educational institution housing more than 60,000 photographs, archives books and documents of such noted photographers as Edward Weston, Ansel Adams and Wynn Bullock, the Center seemed a likely choice.
“As Brett”s executor, I hoped I could find some way to create a photographic legacy with the Center after it seemed unlikely the trust could market its entire collection during Erica”s lifetime,” says Morris.
According to Morris, the Center declined to purchase the archive because of its unwillingness to take on the necessary financial obligations such a purchase would entail in terms of providing for Erica Weston and the estate.
“We did pursue in some detail letting the Center have it, but they didn”t want to be responsible for generating income [for Erica and the estate],” explains Morris.
Although the Center declined to purchase Weston”s archive, they were particularly interested in purchasing what is known as the 50th Anniversary Portfolio, a collection of 125 prints of Weston”s finest work spanning his entire career and assembled by noted photo-historians Beaumont and Nancy Newhall for an exhibit in Santa Fe, NM. in the 1970s.
Morris confirms that the Center did want to buy the 50th Anniversary Portfolio, worth an estimated $300,000, but the price that was offered was below market value and “prejudicial to the interest of the income beneficiary.”
As discussions between Morris and Williams proceeded, and a figure of $1.5 million was proposed for purchase of the estate, Williams says she thought the deal would be completed, pending the approval of the sale by Erica and the Center, which Williams says Morris sought as a “”courtesy”” to the Center. But such approvals, says Morris, were not forthcoming.
The response to the proposed sale to Williams, says Morris, was “strictly negative from Erica, and the Center was concerned about Carol personally and her business practices. They thought there would be a sale to another museum and they weren”t enamored with the idea,” says Morris, who insists that no deal was ever finalized between the estate and Williams.
According to Williams, however, “the Center”s attorney told me they never objected to my offer.” Williams adds that Erica told her that her [Erica”s] objections were based on incomplete information regarding the terms of a possible sale to Williams.
After repeated questioning, Morris conceded that the Center had no legal standing to object to the sale. Furthermore, the derogatory allusion to Williams” “business practices” begs the question why Morris would approach Williams in the first place if her business practices were in doubt, and why Weston himself placed such implicit trust in Williams over the years.
Williams says it was only after she was told by Morris that the Center was going to purchase the archive for a larger sum, only to later find out it was sold to Keesee under terms and conditions she felt Brett would have objected to, did she eventually sue to block the sale in May of ”97.
“I was told by Sidney I had it and in January [1997] he said the vault went to the Center for more money than I offered and that Erica was thrilled,” says Williams. “I thought it all went to the Center but it had to been sold to Keesee.”
Williams” suit was eventually denied by Judge William Curtis citing Williams” lack of standing. Curtis later sanctioned Williams $10,000 after she pursued the suit further.
Because the interpretation and recollection of the events surrounding the sale of Weston”s archive varies from person to person, it is difficult to ascertain what assurances, guarantees and/or promises were made to and by all the parties involved in the eventual sale of Weston”s archive to Keesee.
The most likely explanation may have to do with the financial liabilities and benefits of the archive to the estate, the powerful influence of the Center, which benefited substantially from the sale of the archive to Keesee, and the role of Erica”s attorney and advisor Jim Rust, a St. Louis attorney who ended up brokering the deal between the estate and Keesee.
(Both Erica Weston and Jim Rust, per Erica”s instructions, declined to be interviewed for this story. Terence Pitts, who serves as director for the Center For Creative Photography also declined to be interviewed despite the prominent role the Center played in the disposition of Weston”s archive. According to Pitts, there was nothing controversial about the sale of Weston”s archive.)
The sale to Keesee, with the help of his agent Jon Burris, who now serves as curator of the Brett Weston Archive, was completed in November, 1996 following final negotiations in Oklahoma City.
According to court documents, Keesee purchased the archive for the $1.5 million asking price, but only put $200,000 down, agreeing to pay off the additional $1.3 million balance in interest and principal in five years.
In turn, the estate paid a 10 percent commission to Burris and agreed to take out a $300,000 loan from Keesee”s bank. According to Morris, the deal was structured in such a way as to reduce the estate”s overall tax burden, with the bank loan allowing the estate to pay off some of its debts. By deferring payment in full, says Morris, Keesee was able to keep more cash on hand to help finance planned exhibitions and publications of Weston”s work.
In addition to the archive, Morris sold all reproduction rights to Keesee in an exclusive licensing agreement, giving Keesee the right to reproduce and publish Weston”s work for 25 years in exchange for 7 percent of the gross sales to the estate. It has been suggested by sources that those rights could be worth upwards of an additional $1 million.
One of Keesee”s first moves has been to license 1,500 of Weston”s images to Bill Gates” Corbis Corp. of Bellevue, Wash., for electronic reproduction. Keesee retains final approval for any uses by Corbis, which has a similar agreement with the Ansel Adams Trust. According to Morris, the estate has relinquished all control over how Weston”s images can be used or marketed.
As for the Center, it received the 50th Anniversary Portfolio from the estate, along with a donation from Keesee of somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000 prints not included in the sale, as well as several hundred negatives of Weston”s later Hawaii work. All of the items donated to the Center will provide tax benefits to Keesee and the estate. According to Morris, title to the Portfolio has yet to be transferred from the estate to the Center.
As far as Morris is concerned, the terms of the sale of the Weston archive represents the best outcome for both Weston”s estate, and for the legacy of Weston”s artistic achievement. Any supposed controversy over the sale, says Morris, is strictly in the mind of Williams, and that Brett never explicitly stated how he wanted his archive disposed of.
“I honestly feel the results achieved over the past four years are as good as could have been achieved for this estate,” says Morris. “We”ve done all we can do and I feel good about it. It has not been easy, but it”s my nature to know what I”m doing is right and doing the best job to get the estate closed.
“In my opinion the Center will have the definitive collection of Brett”s work and as far as everyone else is concerned they couldn”t be happier,” says Morris.
As a coda to the events surrounding the legal fight over the sale of Weston”s archive to Keesee, Williams herself was sued this past October by Morris on behalf of the estate over breach of contract for the remaining two books on Weston”s work, and for the return of 600 Weston photographs intended for those publications. She is also being sued for money Morris says is due the estate as a result of ongoing sales of Weston”s work by Williams at the Photography West Gallery.
Williams says she hadn”t gone forward on the other books because Morris told her the estate didn”t want any additional tax liabilities from any additional sales or promotions.
Morris denies Williams assertions, and says only that negotiations between the estate and Williams are ongoing and may be resolved in January.
“My feeling is she breached her contract for the other two books, and the estate issues have nothing to do with her failure to do the last two books,” says Morris.
“I love appreciation and an audience, we all do, but I don”t photograph for anybody but myself. In general mass audiences are tasteless, and I”d rather have an audience of say a thousand people who really love and understand and appreciate my work than 10 million. ”

As loathe as Weston may have been for a large, and largely uninformed audience, it appears as though his reputation will be greatly enlarged in the coming years. In the aftermath of the sale of the Weston archive to Keesee, two questions remain-whether this area lost an invaluable local treasure, and how Brett Weston and his tremendous artistic achievement will be assessed by art historians and the public at large.
Despite questions raised by Williams and Weston”s brother Cole over whether Brett would have approved a sale that included several hundred negatives and the licensing of the electronic publishing rights, based on steps taken so far, Keesee and Burris have shown great savvy and seem serious and forthright in their desire to build on Weston”s legacy in a positive way.
To date, Burris has mounted two shows of Weston”s work-one at the International Center of Photography in New York City of 76 images of New York cityscapes, and a 60-print retrospective in Guadalajara, Mexico- and is in the process of lining up exhibitions in galleries and museums in several European countries over the coming years. Negotiations have also begun, says Burris, with three major American publishers and one foreign publisher for a series of six books over the next five years that Burris says that will “totally reinterpret Brett”s career.”
“Our intention is to bring attention to the fact that not a lot of Brett”s work nor a broad enough range has been reproduced or exhibited,” says Burris, who has been an art dealer/curator for the past 25 years. “Looking at his immense archive that parallels the history of photography, it is amazing in scope and amazing from the standpoint of what was not shown and exhibited. We obviously feel there is great potential with the material and in terms of marketing we intend to bring Brett Weston”s name to greater prominence.”
As far as concerns that the sale to Keesee represents the loss of a valuable local treasure, Burris insists Weston”s value and representation goes beyond such parochial concerns.
“Brett was one of the great American landscape artists and it is unfair to relegate him just to the California school,” says Burris. “If you took a handful of the top six American photographers he is certainly one of them. The fact that any one artist could physically create an archive this wide-ranging is amazing in and of itself.
“Anything projected about what Brett may or may not have wanted is not clearly defined,” adds Burris. “I think, as with many artists, one of things that”s been said is there is some implication Brett might not have wanted his work to leave California and the idea of plans for a museum, but in all of our research we can find nothing to indicate this and I don”t think any of that is true. Had he wanted that specifically, he had people around him who could have helped him set that up but he didn”t do that. As with any artist whose work is on this level it belongs to the history of American photography regardless of where it is handled, as long as it is handled properly.”
As far as Williams is concerned, her feelings are decidedly mixed regarding the sale of Weston”s archive and tied deeply to her personal feeling for Brett as an artist and friend.
“I feel as far as Brett”s legacy is concerned the local area lost a tremendous archive, one of the most important artistic archives that exists in the history of photography ever created,” says Williams, “but I don”t think [the sale to Keesee] was the worst thing that could have happened.
“My concerns for Brett”s work is it”s never been organized or assembled. No scholars or public institutions have had an opportunity for study,” adds Williams. “My overwhelming response is sorrow about the irony of it. It seems so sad it was turned into this big commercial investment. Brett was a visual genius and had as sophisticated an eye as perhaps the most sophisticated 20th-century painters and abstractionists. That is his legacy.
“There needs to be a reevaluation of Brett”s artistic contribution, a chronological scholarly study of his work properly dated with comparative studies done to see who was influencing whom. That was the opportunity presented by the archive-scholarly research-and hopefully it won”t be lost.” cw

Sydney Morris was taken by Stacey, he always alert to find THE SANE ONE when it comes to creative legacies – and hand it over to his chosen one without consulting a professional psychologist,My family was shocked to see my daughter and asked if she had contacted me. I want Bruce Springsteen to write new songs, and play a role in Quentin Tarantino’s version, and Bob Dylan to write songs, and act in David Lynch’s version. Dylan may still be a follower of Jesus, and is a good artist. Lynch went to art school. Jesus has been the subject of many works of art. I would love to see David and Dylan take up where John Huston left off with his masterpiece ‘Wise Blood’. I want a movie about Jesus – with no Jesus! The fight that Jesus had over the Holy Spirit, via, St. Paul! I wantpsee Tarantino and Springsteen elude to the presence of a Holy Spirit – without any reference to Jesus! “Meanwhile Daria (Daria Halprin), “a sweet, pot-smoking post-teenybopper of decent inclinations,” is driving across the desert towards Phoenix in a 1950s era Buick automobile to meet her boss Lee, who may or may not also be her lover.”
When ‘Easy Rider’ came out, my kindred and friends said I look just like THE ACTOR, Dennis Hopper, who is some kind of hippie biker – only on film! Hopper marred THE ACTRESS, Daria Halprin, whose mother was a dancer and who runs a dance healing clinic called ‘Tamalpa Life/Art’ which may be near Mount Tamalpais where I camped with Rena – all alone. There was not one famous director to be seen. We took no direction. Rena’s beauty was not captured and put in a can. I got a real good close-up of her about sixteen hours a day. I can’t complain – really!
Daria starred in A MOVIE about radical hippies in revolt, called ‘Zabriskie Point’. It was an utter failure. I am an original hippie, who along with my hippie friends, did not go see this movie, because, it is a case of Art Imitating Life. We had no interest in paying money to go see FAKE PAID HIPSTERS imitating us, and, speak for us. We spent our extra money on drugs so we could alter our mind, get turned on – and have sex!
The other star of Zabriskie Point was a Mel Lyman devotee. Mark Frechette held up a bank with another Lyman Family member after he made his movie. He had real-life interests. Mel Lyman is my kindred who created a network of MUSicians, Actors, and Artists. He is in my family tree. He married Jessie Benton, a cousin of my ex-brother-in-law, Garth Benton who acted in movies, as did his first wife, Alli McBride.
If Rena had married me, then she would be kin to Mel Lyman, too. Rena was not an actress, but a young woman who experimented with drugs, went on a Road Trip to L.A. from Nebraska, then took another trip with me and two other hippies to Winnemucca in a 1950 Dodge. I flipped out in a town in the desert. What is going on out in the Mohave Desert while the cameras are rolling, went on between Rena and I in the wilds of California. We were – THE REAL DEAL!
Mel Lyman was kin to Philip Boileau whose women look like Darian, and my later Sister, Christine Rosamond Benton. This is quite a grouping of creative people, smitten by their Muse.
Most human being have come to believe nothing is real if it is not in the movies or on T.V. This is safe for them. They want real life filtered and scanned for any real danger, and any real sex. They also want money to empower them.

On August 29, 1973, he and two members of the Fort Hill commune attempted to rob the New England Merchant’s Bank in the Fort Hill section of Roxbury, a poor neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. One of the members of the commune, Christopher “Herc” Thien, was killed by police and Frechette was arrested and sentenced to the minimum security state prison in Norfolk, Massachusetts. He died during an apparent weightlifting accident when a 150-pound bar fell on his neck, choking him to death. Prison officials did not suspect foul play; however, questions arose whether Frechette had been suffering from depression.[4] He was 27 years old.

The pardon of Sheriff Joe checked so many boxes for what we know about how Trump views the world and operates that, in retrospect, it was utterly predictable.
This morning I awoke carrying a heavy load. I dreamed I was in a warehouse in New York choosing old props from a play that had failed, or, was never fully produced. Something went wrong. Now, I was the savior of this play. I heard someone say;
“This is an extremely difficult project. This guy gets his big break, and he’s going for this?”
I awoke with FAILURE staring me in the face. What is the play? I lie in bed half asleep and let my intuition look for the answer. Maybe it’s a musical? I thought about my friends in New York and ‘My Big Beautiful Blue Bicycle’ and my unfinished novel ‘The Gideon Computer’. I say hello to Nancy and the artists. I think about the Chicano Artist Sanctuaries I am thinking of founding. Then, I am looking at my next post I had in mind, and – BINGO!
In lest than an hour I am watching Darian Halsprin walking into a hole in the rocks where there is a waterfall in a grotto. it leads to a house designed by the famous architect – as a prop, that is going to be blown-up!
This movie was made in 1970, the year Rena and I went camping for fifty days in my 1950 Dodge. When Christine saw the painting I did of my muse in 1971, she took up art. Life imitates art. Life is a movie. Consider the real estate deal going on in the house.
Angela Davis is in this movie. My daughter’s mother had a son by a Black Panther, who knew Angela. It’s all here. It wrote itself, as if there is a God, and, Art is God.

At the end of director Michelangelo Antonioni’s anti-capitalist, anti-life turkey of a film ‘Zabriskie Point,’ this house — designed by architect Paolo Soleri and (like several scenes in Antonioni’s film) based on the house in Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘North by Northwest,’ which was itself inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s desert houses — this house is ‘lovingly’ exploded in montage as the ‘climax’ of the film; destroyed in balletic slow motion with “a final destructive glee.”
As a director, Antonioni was for sure an accomplished artist. His films were honest demonstrations — of essentially anti-life themes. Never doubt that’s what he meant this replacement scene to say — “a series of slow-motion captures of capitalistic debris flying apart against a smoky blue background.” Never doubt that he meant it.
That’s why the house needed to be so good. Understand that, and you understand much of modern art. Think about it.
And from the siting of the house you can begin to appreciate what it means to “integrate architecture with your site.”

About Elias Brevoort
Seems to have started as a Loyalist <see list. Not to be confused with another Elias Brevoort now on the DAR list and served under Major Goetchius (NJ) ref: DAR# A104082 . His younger brother Henry remained “loyal” in the Out Ward of New York and preserved the family farm just north of Washington Square.
One Elias Brevoort was granted land in Digby, NS as a Loyalist refugee. Evidently, he returned to the US just as many other refugees did.

The law firm of Robert Brevoort Buck, mishandled the artistic estate of Christine Rosamond Benton, and destroyed it. I do not know if Robert knows his family tree and history – like I do – but coming from this creative family, one is bid to produce high quality endeavors – especially when you have all the money in the world – and come from the most prestigious roots -ever! Did Andy Warhol know about Edie’s roots? How about Bob Dylan?

Biographical note
The first members of the Brevoort family in America came from Holland prior to 1655 and soon thereafter settled in Bushwick, then a separate village that would eventually be annexed by the City of Brooklyn in 1855. After 20 years in Bushwick, the family purchased land in New York City (present-day Manhattan) where the family prospered. It wasn’t until 1845 that members of the Brevoort family moved back to Brooklyn.
Henry Brevoort (1747-1841) was a successful farmer whose lands lay just outside of the early city limits of New York. His estate consisted of 86 acres between 9th Street and 18th Street, bounded by Fifth Avenue on the west and the Bowery on the east, thus part of today’s West Village. The opening of Broadway up to 23rd Street forced New York City street commissioners to create a dog-leg bend at 10th Street, as Brevoort was determined to prevent the disruption of his estate. Brevoort and son Henry, Jr. prevented the opening of 11th Street between Broadway and the Bowery in the 1830s and 1840s to prevent the destruction of the old family farm house.
Henry Brevoort, Jr. (1782-1848) was widely respected for his adventurous travels and artistic interests. He accompanied Lewis and Clark on their expedition to the Pacific Northwest from 1803 to 1806 and spent a great deal of time in the North American wilderness working for John Jacob Astor’s American Fur Company. He was equally at home and well received in salons throughout Europe during his travels abroad. Henry Brevoort, Jr. was a close friend of Washington Irving and was primarily responsible (along with Irving’s brother Ebenezer) for the publication of the American edition of Irving’s The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent..
James Carson Brevoort (1818-1887), Henry Jr.’s son, was educated in Europe during his parents’ travels. He graduated from Baron Fellenberg’s school in Hofwyl, Switzerland and then earned a degree in civil engineering from the Ecole Centrale des Arts et Manufactures in Paris. He served as Washington Irving’s private secretary following Irving’s appointment as United States Minister to Spain in 1842. Brevoort married Elizabeth Dorothea Lefferts in 1845 and moved to Brooklyn. There he managed the large land holdings of his father-in-law, Judge Leffert Lefferts. In Brooklyn, Brevoort gained renown for his scholarly interest and public service. He studied history, entomology, and ichthyology and also served for many years as a member of the Brooklyn Board of Education and the Board of Water Commissioners. Brevoort also helped to found the Long Island Historical Society (now the Brooklyn Historical Society) in 1863, served as its President for 10 years, and was a Director of the Society until his death.
James Carson Brevoort’s only child, Henry L. Brevoort (1849-1895), followed his father’s interest in engineering and became one of the country’s foremost patent and invention lawyers, with a client list that included Westinghouse, Western Union, and the New York and Brooklyn Bridge Company. He was also a founder in 1890 of the Brevoort Savings Bank in Brooklyn.

Here is the genealogy of Edith Sedgewick and Christian Brevoort Zabriski Buck, the half brother of William Buck. I am the rightful historian of the Buck Foundation – and the greatest Artistic Dynasty in the world!

Our Broken Friends
I met Ed Corben in 1997, the year when everything and everyone was broken. We met in Broken Alley between 18th and 19th, a block from Kindcaid, and the Broken UofO. Students came from all over to live the broken life, like they saw in the movie Animal House. If things didnt crash and burn in a riotous blow-out party, life was not worth living. A week after their parents dropped them off to start school, they were on the corners, rioting. They burned the old couches and funiture grandma gave them, after breaking her heirlooms into pieces. If it wasnt broken, it was – worthless. If it was on fire, they were a hell of lot of fun.
Ed stopped me in the alley while I was riding my broken bicycle home from the library. He picked some books out of my rack, and checked them out. He was impressed. Though, I appeared broken, he commented that there was evidence I had a good mind. I was the new broken being on the block and Ed introduced me to broken Gary. Gary pulled up his pants legs and showed us his bullet and bayonet scars he got in Vietnam. He placed our fingers in the hole in his head, and asked us of we could feel the metal plate. He got that during the Tet Offensive, when our reason for being there, broke down. When Gary was going to die, he gave me his wife to take care of. He trusted me. He said I could take care of her better than he could. I wasn’t so -broken! Barbara was not broken at all, and didn’t need me. She moved out of Broken Alley and we stayed in touch for a little while. She was being – kind.
Then there is severely deranged and broken Kevin, the king of the anarchists. He would go downtown and get broken up by the Eugene Police while wearing a black ski mask. They beat him black and blue. They gassed him, made him choke and vomit. We never knew if he would come home, come back to Broken Alley. When I planted tomatoes in our tiny garden space, he hid his pot plants in the vines. Life lost its meaning, when it became legal. Why not pass a law making it illegal to die. It might work. Let’s give it a try! We’ve tried everything else…….

When I read about Ludwig Wittgenstein infatuation with Norbert Davis, the movie Bad Day At Black Rock popped into my mind because his brother was a one-armed pianist. I about pissed my pants. I knew I had found the Lost Anaconda Mine. I had a vison of Ludwig coming to America to look for that perfect vast empty tumble-weed place Norbert Davis made famous in his books. He too has lost one arm in a failed suicide attempt. He decides to bring along his scattered philosophy that is not yet in book form. Who knows, someone might find merit in his work – and buy IT! Geniuses are notorious for believing their work is third rate, not up to snuff, thus, they keep digging deeper, and deeper.
In the last month, I’ve been thinking of taking two train rides. The first place I considered, was Belmont California. I’d pack up my grandfather’s books he could not sell in his lifetime, just incase the Belmont Historical Society wants them. So, I get off the train and find the BHS whose members promised they would meet me at the train station. But, they subscribe to the real old ways, and ask me if I want to participate in The Wicker Man Celebration.
“No thanks. I saw the movie! I think I’ll be moseying back to the station!”
Getting back on the train, I head for the small town of St. Louis Oklahoma founded by Louis Frank and Lillie Rosamond who platted it in 1927. Looks like a quiet place. I can plant my roots here, and buy a plaque for Ludwig when I put a down payment on my burial niche in Oklahoma City. What can go wrong.
Nearing St. Louis I have visions of the movie Zabriskie Point starring two cult followers of my kinfolk, Jessie and Mel Lyman. Googling on my pad, I find a federal lawsuit involving a Rosamond and a oil company. (just found it) Sounds like the movie GIANT, starring my kin, Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor. Say! What am I getting myself into? I don’t want any trouble. I don’t want to go looking for trouble.

I’m going to write a hard-boiled detective novel starring Ludwig, Norbert, and my Rosamond kin. Mary Magdalene Rosamond has fallen in love with Norbert and tells Royal not to come home. He meets Ludwig who takes a vacation to Oklahoma. They buy stock in a oil well and come up against a oil theft scheme. Royal gets in a accident.

He was fascinated with Norbert Davis who was a friend of my grandparents – who have redeemed THEIR family from beyond the grave. I am the head of my family. Here is a movie about Ludwig. Kenny Reed Was Offered Ed Fadeley’s Kidney

On September 26, 2015, Darian Fadeley offered Marilyn Reed, her dying husband’s kidney at the DAC during a Landmark Forum meeting. Ed was in the hospital, dying, and Darian came late to the meeting. There was one vacant seat, next to my childhood sweetheart. During an exchange, where one turns to the person next to you and tells them something meaningful, Marilyn tells Darian her husband needs a kidney transplant and in on dialysis. Darian is alarmed, and tells my dear friend she should not keep this to herself, and the more she talks about it, the chances there are for someone to come forward. Darian talks to the doctor at the hospital and orders a test to see if Ed and Kenny are compatible. She is told Ed’s kidney is toast. Kenny is a black Jazz Artist. Darian did not know who Marilyn’s husband was. She did not know he was a black man. She knew he had a medical emergency, and hoped he could be helped if Ed could not. She wanted a part of Ed to go on living. She wanted Hope to spring eternal.
October 7th. was Kenny Reed’s birthday. I read a comment about Kenny. Someone said he and Izzy are the two most important people in Eugene. He knew all the Jazz greats, and played with many of them, including Les McCann, Marilyn’s good friend. Her sister was married to Ron Jefferson, McCann’s drummer.
Last night, Marilyn took me out to dinner and told me Les wrote a song about a blue Volkswagen he loved. Here is the blue bicycle and chair. Kenny appears in front of Eugene’s oldest mural that contains a figure that Marilyn knew for a long time. The muralist saw Julio walking and asked if he could take his picture.
Ed’s kidney was gone, but Kenny is in need of a transplant in order to save his life. I beseech our community and our group of friends, to put away our distractions, our reasons we are in discord, and concentrate on saving our Jazz Icon. This is a peace offering. We are all close then we know. Only Marilyn knew the identity of the lone man in the mural. They go back aways.

A month after our sister was NOT killed by a rogue wave, I called Vicki Presco up and sked her for the name and phone number of the person who invited Christine Rosamond Benton. to Rocky Point.
“Why do you want to know?”
“I want to talk to them, and even go to Rocky Point.”
“Im busy. I’ll get back to you!:
Fifteen minutes later, she calls back.
“I don’t have their number. They were there temporarily.”
When she went away, I wondered if she called Mark Presco. Someone gave Vicki permission to lie to me.
My detective friend found the house, and we drove out there. Right away Sparky finds the calling card of John Detro left in the door jam. John was a hairdresser and wrote for the Carmel Pinecone. He was in Christine’s house – the day before the funeral with Shamus Dundon and his mother.
Sparky then opens the mailbox on HWY one. There is a gas bill with the name ALAN Fox. He turns out to be the owner. Why is he hiding> He has an art group named after his mother.
On the phone, Cian and I agreed to launch and investigation as to the whereabouts of Mark Presco. I suggested he call Shamus, and the Bullhead Police. When next we talked he said he couldn’t find a phone number for Shamus. I told him I found one in 30 seconds. Cian is rich, and could have hired a PI.
What about calling the Bullhead Police? I told Cian Shamus ran from them, and there is a police cam of them interviewing – my nephew. The Police would know how to contact Dundon. The door is wide open for Cian to express his concerns to the Police about his father, He chooses to Gaslight me, make me out to be insane – and unworthy of so many things. Drew sent me four messages a month before she killed herself. They will be in MY police report.
Rosemary told me there was going to be sober birthday party for the famous Rosamond. Detro made not mention of it. We surmised he had gone to Rocky Point to do my sister’s hair, but, she is in the morgue.
When Cian told me my brother hated my gust, and had no respect for me, I was wondering is anyone sis this to Drew – for a whole year! Cian was just getting started. His desire to destory me with his BIG BRAIN amde him froth a the mought. I said this…
“I have the right to write a book! I HAVE THE RIGHT TO WRITE A BOOK!” I shouted over and over again. My nephew had to be shocked that I could yell louder than him. Where did I leanr to do that? He hung up. I am investigation Cian O[Brian – for my book. And…

Alan Fox’s 20 Million Dollar Gift

Alan Fox gifted 20 million dollars to a university in order to immortalize un-gifted members of his family. He is trying to establish an Artistic Dynasty. What a joke. He is not a player in the Art Casino unveiled in the Panama Papers as far as I can tell.
It occurred to me I should have sued Alan for ‘Wrongful Death’ after the statute of limitations ran out. This would have revealed much. My main interest is still to own how my sister was “killed” by a rogue wave. It might be possible for my niece, Drew Benton, to sue Alan Fox. She is a member of a REAL Artistic Dynasty and suffers from mental illness due to her brush with death. She watched her mother die. Our family could have used 10 million dollars to save and promote the Rosamond Legacy and all out creative members – for generations to come! This includes my daughter and grandson.
Why didn’t executor Sydney Morris sue Alan, or, Lawrence Chazen, who tried to become the executor? How about Vicki Presco when she was the executor? I found out Chazen and Morris have offices blocks from each other in Carmel. They could walk to see each other. Was their collusion? With Chazen setting up Noble Oil in an offshore manner, and because he was a partner of Rosamond, he can be associated with the Panama Papers.
My daughter probably has a lawsuit or two. She should see an attorney.

I just discovered the house my late sister was invited to at Rocky Point was designed by the famous architect, Brook-Kothlow, for Allan Fox, who sold this house in a hurry shortly after Christine Rosamond Benton was allegedly swept from the rocks below this house that plays a prominent role in the counterculture and the development of the World Wide Web.
Brook-Kothlow was inspired by the ideas of Khan and Brand Stewart, who put on the Tripps Festivals, and published The Whole Earth Catalogue which was the model for the Internet. Stewart was at the Open Theatre with the Loading Zone. Clint Eastwood owned another famous house by Brook-Kothlow. These houses are considered HISTORIC works of Art and Philosophy. Why would Alan Fox sell one of these very unique homes built JUST FOR HIM? He had to know Eastwood owned one. According to Donald Layne and his wife, who I talked to on the phone;
“Allan was in a awful hurry to sell that home, and did so at a great loss.”
Why was Mr. Fox in such a hurry to sell a home that he knew would go up in value. Fox is a big real estate investor. Sound’s like a bad business to me. Could it be I asked my surviving sister, Vicki Presco, who owned that house?
“Why do you want to know?” Vicki spat.
“I want to go there and talk to them.”
“I’ll get back to you.” my little lying sister said. Fifteen minutes later.
“They moved!”
“Can I have their names?”
“What difference does it make? They are gone!”
This is when my investigation began in ernest. Michael Harkins helped me for a while, and then taught me how to investigate. I sent my report to the Coroner with this quote from Harkins;
“Now that you know for sure you have been lied to, you must assume everything is a lie, until proven otherwise, and, you have to consider anything could have happened, including murder.”
When my family read “murder” they used that word as their defense, being, I was insane and mentally ill, I wanting to conclude that off the top. What I was looking for, was the motive for the owner of a famous house concealing his identity. Fearing a Wrongful Death Lawsuit, would be one motive. Allan Fox is a multi-millionaire, and thus susceptible to a suit. Did his attorneys suggest he sell that infamous home that Drew Benton allegedly did a drawing of? Drew is the daughter of two famous artists and is a member of the Historic Benton Family.
The second question I had, was why would Christine allow her daughter down at this extremely dangerous place when the wind was howling? Christine had nightmares about dying via a huge wave. Huge waves carved the bowl you see just below the Fox house. Not the stairs others have built to get down near the sea that is very deep. I saw plumes of water shooting thirty feet into the air when I was there during a mild day. At first, my nephew admitted to seeing huge plumes of water going high into the air – from the house! Surely Christine saw these plumes from the huge windows. I’m sure this is why Fox wanted a house built there, these plumes a means to impress his friends. Did Allan warn Christine about going down to the water’s edge?

The house at Rocky Point where my late sister, Christine Rosamond, was invited to by a person unknown, was owned by Alan C. Fox who I just tried to talk to on the phone. I got his secretary who asked my name and what was my business. I told her my name and this was concerning the house he owned at Rocky Point. I was put on hold for twenty seconds. When the secretary came back on, she said;
“Alan does not own that house anymore.”
“Then he did own it?”
“Yes, but not in a long time.”
I now have an image of Alan, the owner of the place that gave my sister, Christine Rosamond Benton, the last shelter she would enjoy on earth.
Let me make this picture for you: If your teenage daughter called and said she was spending the night at a friends, and she went walking with that friend, and was struck and killed by a car, wouldn’t you want to know who this friend was, who the parents were, where they lived, and their telephone number?
I am not saying Alan Fox invited Christine to the house on Rocky Point. If Allan rented this house, then he knew who he rented it to, thus, we may know who invited Christine to be a guest in that house.
Alan’s mother was an artist, and Alan is the publisher of ‘Rattle’ a publication that promotes poetry and poets. Royal Rosamond Press was founded in order to protect Artists and Poets. The University of Arizona recently announced a $20 million gift to its School of Music by Alan C. Fox, president of ACF Property Management, a real-estate investment company in Studio City, California, and his wife Daveen. A fifth of that money will be used to create three endowed chairs at the school, and $2 million will establish the Fox Scholarship Fund. The school will also be renamed the Fox School of Music.
This kind of huge gift in the realm of the arts isn’t too common. Indeed, the gift by the Fox couple is the largest gift ever given to University of Arizona’s College of Fine Arts. The previous high mark for an individual gift? Two gifts of just $3 million each. That’s quite a difference and if you’re picturing a couple with strong alumni ties to University of Arizona, you’d be wrong. Neither Fox nor his wife is an alum. How about a business or residence close to campus? Nope, the entire Fox family lives in Southern California. So what’s the story here?
Well, let’s start with Fox’s father, Fred Fox, for whom the school of music will be renamed. The elder Fox is a legendary french horn player who’s been involved in all things brass for most of his life. Fred Fox was born in Brooklyn, New York and after attending Juilliard, he performed as a solo horn player with the National Symphony, the Minneapolis Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and at Paramount Studios, among others.
Fred Fox has also taught music at California State University, Northridge, University of Southern California, and the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara. What’s more, his 1974 book, Essentials of Brass Playing, is considered an authoritative source.
Oh, and there’s at least one other place where Fox has taught—University of Arizona’s School of Music—where he’s worked with the Graduate Wind Quintet and gave lessons as recently as last fall. It’s also worth noting that Fred Fox is 100 years old.
Besides the interesting tidbit of the younger Fox honoring his 100-year-old dad while he’s still alive and kicking—and still apparently playing music, too—it also goes to show you just how strong the motivation is here. The Fox family has clearly been powerfully influenced by its musically gifted patriarch.
And if all this wasn’t enough, one of Fred Fox’s former music students is now an associate professor at the School of Music at UArizona. The two apparently kept in contact, and perhaps this professor made the initial pitch. (If only every college development office had a professor with ties to a family like the Foxes. Actually, come to think of it, many probably do if they pushed their faculty hard enough to mine their connections.)
There’s one other component to this story, as well. Fox and Daveen run a very interesting foundation out of Los Angeles called the Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation. It was founded in 1999 in the name of Fox’s mother, Frieda (noticing a pattern here?!) who was a musician, artist and teacher, and the first in her family to go to college.
The Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation gives to a number of different outfits in Los Angeles, mainly in education, but a cornerstone of the foundation is its youth philanthropy program, which help kids, teens, college students and young adults learn about and be involved in philanthropy at foundations and nonprofits. When the foundation was still in its infancy, one of Fox’s thirteen year old daughters was already involved.
Gosh, the Fox family sure is hitting all the right notes.
