The Washington Post told employees Wednesday that it will begin sweeping layoffs, the latest blow to the storied newspaper under billionaire owner Jeff Bezos, confirming weeks of speculation about drastic newsroom cuts.
“We have grappled with financial challenges for some time. They have affected us in multiple rounds of cost cuts and buyouts, along with periodic constraints on other kinds of spending,” The Post’s Executive Editor Matt Murray said in a newsroom note seen by POLITICO, stating that the reductions would impact “nearly all news departments.”

I made a proposal to Stanford to found a College of Spies in Belmont. I have my fictional character go to Stanford in my James Bond book ‘The Royal Janitor’.
EXTRA! At 6:40 P.M. on February 27, 2025, I found this article on my iPhone. No writer has ever been under the gun like I am. I am hearing scary news stories about Musk who is determined to end HUD, Food Stamps, Medicaid, and Social Security. I get all that – and SSI. I guess this makes me Mr, Big! Do they know how close they are to bagging the – Big Cheese?
Musk and Besoz are millionaires. Is there a Bond storyline here, being, the Reborn James Bond feeds the multitude and heals the poor?

Stanford statement on Belmont campus decision
After careful consideration, Stanford University has decided not to exercise its option to purchase Notre Dame de Namur University’s (NDNU) campus property in Belmont. The university arrived at this decision after evaluating many factors, some of which could not be anticipated when Stanford first entered into an option purchase agreement with NDNU almost four years ago.
Stanford has appreciated the excitement, care, and curiosity the community has shown to us as we listened and learned about the special qualities of the NDNU campus and Belmont. We have consistently heard that the community would like the property to be revitalized and continue to be used for academic and other community-serving purposes. Stanford’s vision for the campus has always been aligned with this feedback.

Dear Michael; Yesterday, while watching golf, I googled members of the Spogoli Institute and started with you. I was bowled over. To start with, I have been looking for you for years. I wanted to blog on the guy Putin wanted to interrogate – that Trump agreed to handover!. I sent an e-mail to Amy Zegart that is applicable to what I am asking you to do. I am kin to Ian Fleming nd began a James Bond novel that was inspired by Rena Easton of Bozeman Montana. She is the widow of Admiral Ian Easton of the British Defense Staff Washington. Do you know this organization?. I have been composing a new chapter that will take place at the Norte Dame de Namur campus that Stanford wants to purchase. I want you to represent me and my historic families’ interests in this matter. I have watched you on the Rachel Maddow show, and trust you. That you lived in Bozeman Montana is key to my novel. You have altered the direction it is taking. The claim by McCarthy and Pence that Biden has weaponized the Justice Department by indicting Trump on Espionage charges, is Karmic Justice – and more! Was Mike Pence all for handing you over to Putin – who might have hanged you?

Stanford has pulled out of Belmont, I found out last night, and have decided to send Governor Kotek short messages rather them a long one.
Congratulations Governor Kotek with your entry into the Movie Making Business, being, you appear to be a partner of Jeff Bezos who acquired the rights to James Bond.
.I just discovered you are in the Nuclear Plant Business – too! I read you are negotiating with Jeff Bezos to built another giant Amazon Chip Complex like the one in Morrow. and Jeff are haggling over the billion dollars tax break he wats to go with other tax breaks? Due to the massive cuts the other billion is conducting, I may end up in the street. Musk is going after HUD as I type. I am also on SSI and Food Stamps. What I am wondering, what are Oregonians getting – in return? It looks like – nothing! Are you going to say we are getting jobs. How about a little culture? You have ignored all the messages I sent you in regatds to my James Bond Books – and my connection to my cousin Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor….
I just took a break for breakfast, turned on the news, and there is Trump sitting next to the Prime Minister sayin. that he and Putin are VICTIMS of the Russian Hoax. Trump went on to describe the peaceful scene of diggers digging hard for rare earth that is worth allot. Putin doesn’t have to pay a penalty for invading Ukraine. Many people who love James Bond fear Bezos will exploit James. I see Bond walking by the Colombia raving about the nuclear plants that will be built there.
I went to my doctor yesterday, and its not looking good. I am seventy-eight. I am clean and sober thirty-eight years. If I dies I will have no one, but my cat. I am very worried about how she will do. Then there are the ashes of my niece, Drew Taylor Rosamond Benton, who descend from the famous Benton family of Oregon. Above are photos of Liz Taylors uncle with President Eisenhower. They were best friends. Howard Young was in the art business with Francis Taylor. Both men dealt in the artwork of Augustus John who is close kin of Ian Fleming. The character Gully Jimson is based on John.
Here’s what I want from you. I want you to condemn the Rare Earth Deal that is going down tomorrow. I want you to talk with Broccoli and Bezos about my blog Royal Rosamond Press and get it archived and filed in the Oregon archives. I want two million dollars to cover rend and medical – till I die! I want replica of Jimsons barge to go up and down the Columbia past the Amazon Monolith, and a android to throw the finger at Bezos – and you?
Below is a photo of General Eisenhower looking at valuable works of art the Nazis looted. Imagine if he ordered U.S. Infantry troops to load European Art onto a military transport and ship art to New York where it would be sold to pay back America Taxpayers.
My blog is the largest in America, and perhaps the world. I live in $900 a month, with food stamps. I fear if I die, all my work will be lost. If I end up in the street….I am dead!

Here is
Dear Governor Kotek; I have been posting on your Facebook ideas how the J.R. Tolkien Legends can come to Oregon, and Oregon be seen as a co-owner of a Literary and Artistic Genealogy and Legacy that I have come to own in so many amazing ways. I am seventy-six years of age, and will not live forever. However, my Family Legend will. How do I make the State of Oregon Heir to my visions and work. I have worked with the homeless and would like us to find a way that any monies realized from this Literary Estate, can go for low-cost housing for the homeless. Will this housing be on a money-making real estate market – eventually? Has a new way to make investments in housing the homeless yet to be discovered?
I just read an article that suggests there was unethical business practices in Amazon securing a billion dollar tax free haven in Marrow. This dovetails nicely with the La Mota ethics scandal. I applaud the resignation of Fagan and the search for new Ethical Frontiers. This is a huge giveaway, not unlike the two hundred million you obtained to help the homeless. Is Uncle Sam getting his fair share? The Republican’ are refusing to raise the debt ceiling unless Biden makes drastic cuts. Howmany other giant corporations are not paying their fair share?.
On my blog, Royal Rosamond Press, you will see me dressed as Uncle Samaclaus, the beloved Grandfather of All Government Giveaway Programs. This pic was taken at the second Eugene Occupy. I have a scheme on how I can be Grandfathered in-to the Amazon Giveaway Bonanza! I was once homeless, but thanks to SHIPS, I ended my chronic homelessness. I got sober at Serenity Lane thirty six years ago, and have been seeing a therapist for three years. I am YOUR SUCCESS STORY! However the woman nest door has huge sub-woofers, and for four months has practiced ‘Acoustic Violence ‘ on me and my Service Cat, Classy. I write about twelve hours a day on my blog that may be the largest in the world. I need Peace and Quiet. My lack of sleep is destroying my health. I get SS1 because I suffer from PTSD.
On my blog you will see the Amazon Fulfilment plant. I want a thousand foot appartment cut in the corner of it – overlooking the Columbia!. I will live here – rent free! I will get Amazon healthcare and a thousand a month. I want a small electric car to go shopping. In an emergency, a Amazon helicopter will fly me off the roof to the nearest hospital. Also, I want Amazon to purchase the old power plant and turn it into a Guild and Museum for Fantasy Authors. There will be limited residency. Perhaps solar panels could fill the large arias, and The Guild could sell it excess electricity.
Governor, I hope that being upfront is helpful in you considering my proposal and the needs of the State of Oregon. I am kin to Christopher Lee who played Saruman. We do not want Oregon’s Literary Legacy and Windfall to fall into the wrong hands. The two towers you see on the old plant, and the electrical devices, can be used to do – evil! I have a daughter, but she keeps going over to the dark side. In a couple of days I will write you and ask for moneys to go to England to attend the showing of a woman’s paintings. She lived over a hundred years. This journey will secure for Oregon – a Grail Ring!
Oh, by the way, I ran for Governor as a Republican, and voted for you!

Amazon doesn’t actually have the rights to The Silmarillion. This means the series will be based on The Appendices at the end of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Which, admittedly, does overlap in stories between the two books, but if it is mentioned in The Silmarillion and not in the Appendices, it is off-limits. And this has to do with the rights from the Tolkien Estate and from J.R.R. Tolkien himself.
Tolkien had never wanted to sell the rights to his books to the movie companies, but he was forced to eventually for the money in the 1970s to Saul Zaentz, and the animated Rankin and Bass productions of The Hobbit and Ralph Bakshi’s The Lord of the Rings (among a few other small budget films) were made. But those were the only rights that were sold. Even for Peter Jackson, he only had the rights to The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. So, for example, when Radagast the Brown was introduced in Jackson’s Hobbit movies, he had to be very careful with not saying that Tolkien had mentioned there were other wizards in Middle Earth (there are, in fact, a few more mentioned in other works) because he didn’t have the rights to it.
McKay and Payne might have a little more leeway due to the Tolkien Estate being involved in the project, but we can probably expect not to see significant life events in Middle Earth-like the Fall of Gondolin, as described in depth in The Silmarillion or anything else from Tolkien’s Unfinished Tales.
Amazon seeks tax breaks for 5 new data centers, worth $12 billion, in remote Oregon county

Amazon plans to build at least five new data centers along the Columbia River in remote Morrow County, a nearly $12 billion project that would more than double the scale of the company’s operations in the region.
The undertaking represents one of the largest capital projects in Oregon history — in one of the state’s smallest communities. Morrow County has just about 12,000 residents.
The deal could add hundreds of jobs and fill regional tax coffers in the county, 160 miles east of Portland. Amazon is already the county’s largest taxpayer by far, accounting for a third of all property tax revenue due to four large data centers it built over the past several years.
Most of the data centers’ value is exempt from local taxation, though, so Amazon saves far more than it pays. The company secured tax breaks in Morrow County worth $161 million over the past five years – $47 million in just the last year.
And before proceeding with its next project, Amazon wants a new package of tax breaks that would save the company hundreds of millions of dollars more over the next 15 years. That’s generating fresh scrutiny in the county and its largest city, Boardman, over whether Amazon is paying its fair share.
And it leaves officials in Morrow County and Boardman with a conundrum: They would like the billions of dollars in new spending from Amazon, but how does a tiny county in eastern Oregon negotiate a fair deal with a company worth $1.3 trillion? How can they secure the new data centers without giving away too much?
“That’s going to be a tough give and take,” said Greg Sweek, a former county assessor who now manages the local enterprise zone program that governs Amazon’s local taxes. He said county has to balance how much to seek from the company against the risk that Amazon bolts for neighboring Umatilla County, where it also has data centers, or to the nearby Tri-Cities in Washington.
“There’s a monetary amount for Amazon that they’re looking at,” Sweek said, “and I don’t know what that is.”
Data centers come to rural Oregon for cheap land, ample water and relatively inexpensive electricity, essential for powering and cooling all those computers. The Umatilla Electric Cooperative reports that industrial power consumption is up 266% since 2016.
Most of all, though, the tech companies come for the low taxes.
Oregon has some of the nation’s most valuable industrial tax breaks through a program that dates to 1985, when big corporate investments were measured in the millions rather than the billions of dollars.
The state’s enterprise zone program places no limits on how much local governments can give away and provides small communities with no assistance in their negotiations with the companies seeking tax breaks.
In the internet age, Amazon and other tech giants – among them Apple, Facebook and Google – have capitalized on the programs to secure tax breaks from small towns across eastern and central Oregon.
They essentially pit small Oregon towns against one another in search of the biggest exemptions, reaping tens of millions of dollars apiece through deals that exempt their pricey computers from the local property taxes other businesses pay.
The small city of Prineville, northeast of Bend, is home to large Facebook and Apple data centers, each of which receive large tax exemptions. The community has just agreed to a new package of tax breaks for a data hosting company called EdgeConnex. The deal gives the Virginia-based company 75% off its property taxes and puts a cap on the maximum it could pay.
Data centers consist mostly of cavernous, dark chambers with rows upon rows of humming computers. They’re cared for by elaborate cooling systems and a relatively small number of employees, consisting primarily of technicians and security guards.
Still, these server farms provide an enormous windfall in small communities with few economic alternatives. Amazon says its data centers employ 461 people in Morrow County, paying an average wage around $75,000 annually. That’s $20,000 above the county’s median household income.
Amazon Web Services, the Seattle company’s data center group, said in a statement that it contributes economically to Morrow County, supports local science education and is making technical advances to reduce electricity consumption and to conserve water.
And while Amazon enjoys outsized tax breaks, some of its initial investments in Morrow County only qualified for short-term tax breaks that have now expired. The company paid $22 million in taxes and fees in 2020 alone and triple that sum over the preceding decade.
“AWS is proud of the work we are doing in Oregon,” the company said. “Since 2011, we have invested over $15 billion, contributed more than $66 million in tax and fee payments to the local community, and supported the development of 2,000 jobs.”
The job tally includes jobs indirectly supported by Amazon’s spending.
Such benefits accrue to a handful of Oregon communities, primarily in or near Boardman, Hermiston, Prineville and The Dalles. But the state has hundreds of small towns, most of which are not reaping anything from the data center industry.
Public officials in some of the communities that have secured these server farms are fierce defenders of their dealmaking. Sometimes, the local cities and counties don’t even hire an attorney to help them negotiate with the Silicon Valley tech giants.
But others are beginning to express some skepticism.
Wasco County and The Dalles negotiated a new tax break with Google last year that substantially increases what the company would pay on new data centers. And in Morrow County, public officials are discussing how a new tax deal for Amazon would play with their constituents.
Amazon opened its first data center in Morrow County about a decade ago. Its growth has accelerated in recent years and it now has four large facilities, mostly at the Port of Morrow. The port is also home to large food processor, including a massive Tillamook Creamery operation, and a major Portland General Electric gas-fired power plant.
So data centers have grown and diversified the region’s industrial economy while helping fill city and county tax coffers. But Amazon’s new proposal comes amid heated debate over a $138 million school bond on this month’s ballot in Morrow County. The money would renovate and expand local schools.
While some of Amazon’s existing data centers would be subject to taxes to finance the bond, most of the company’s property is exempt. And that’s making the school bond a tough sell among some in the community, who question why Amazon gets a discount and residents don’t.
Amazon has declined to release details of its latest tax break proposal and officials in Morrow County and Boardman haven’t responded to a public records request seeking a copy of the document.
At a meeting last week, Morrow County Commissioner Melissa Lindsay suggested local governments hire an expert to help them evaluate Amazon’s latest request. And she suggested they have a lawyer on hand at their next meeting.
“That hasn’t been past practice,” replied Sweek, the enterprise zone manager. “Attorneys are expensive.”
“Yeah, well, so are mistakes,” Lindsay replied. “And we’ve made some.”
You could have this huge property for a little over $1.4 Million dollars. You won’t believe what’s inside.
You may have passed by Morrow Pond while driving down I-94. On the far West end of the pond is where you’ll find a giant, old abandoned building with two large silos. That is the old Morrow Power Plant. This building has been abandoned since the 1980’s. Now it’s for sale for a whopping $1,440,000 listed by Loren Souers at Kalamazoo Commercial Real Estate. Tolkien Influenced by Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood

Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery has a world-renowned collection of works by Burne-Jones and the Pre-Raphaelites that, some claim, strongly influenced the young J.R.R. Tolkien,[10] who would later go on to write his novels, such as The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, with their influence taken from the same mythological scenes portrayed by the Pre-Raphaelites.
Scene 1: The Briar Rose: The Briar Wood
In the original study for The Briar Wood some of the knights appear to be more feminine than masculine. Burne-Jones modelled the knights from women: Jane Morris, Georgiana (his wife), and Maria Zambaco, the Greek beauty who later became his paramour.
Morris and Co. designs often were created for one medium and then adapted and modified for another. Edward Burne-Jones designed a set of nine two-tile Sleeping Beauty panels for a bedroom fireplace at ‘The Hill’, the home of painter Myles Birket Foster in the 1860s.
Ten years later, he developed a series of three small paintings, and then four larger works that he worked on intermittently from 1870 to 1890. The series was displayed with verses by William Morris. Unlike the fairy tale tales painted for ‘The Hill’, the Briar Rose series does not tell a sequential story but shows the sleepers as seen by the prince as he makes his way through the castle to The Rose Bower.

I suspect there were Jewish guards of Romans in Israel – that Paul hunted down! This is it – REVELATIONS IN REAL TIME! Im going to start a podcast on San Sebastian Even!

Reconstruction
[edit]
The oath was a critical factor in removing many ex-Confederates from the political arena during the Reconstruction era of the late 1860s. To take the Ironclad Oath, a person had to swear he had never borne arms against the Union or supported the Confederacy: that is, he had “never voluntarily borne arms against the United States”, had “voluntarily” given “no aid, countenance, counsel or encouragement” to persons in rebellion; and had exercised or attempted to exercise the functions of no office under the Confederacy. The oath was detested by ex-Confederates, some of whom called it “The Damnesty Oath.”[3]
Sebastian (Latin: Sebastianus; c. AD 255 – c. AD 288) was an early Christian saint and martyr. According to traditional belief, he was killed during the Diocletianic Persecution of Christians. He was initially tied to a post or tree and shot with arrows, though this did not kill him. He was, according to tradition, rescued and healed by Irene of Rome, which became a popular subject in 17th-century painting. In all versions of the story, shortly after his recovery he went to Diocletian to warn him about his sins, and as a result he was clubbed to death.[1][2] He is venerated in the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church as the patron saint of athletics, archery, and plagues.
The oldest record of the details of Sebastian’s martyrdom is found in the Chronograph of 354, which mentions him as a martyr, venerated on January 20. He is also mentioned in a sermon on Psalm 118 by 4th-century bishop Ambrose of Milan: in his sermon, Ambrose stated that Sebastian came from Milan and that he was already venerated there at that time. The full account of his martyrdom comes from the Passio Sancti Sebastiani, a 5th-century text written by an anonymous author, possibly Arnobius the Younger.
Sebastian is a popular male saint, especially today among athletes.[3][4] In medieval times, he was regarded as a saint with a special ability to intercede to protect from plague, and devotion to him greatly increased when plague was active.
The Nation of Fromond

I lay out my plan for the New Nation of Fromond just in case the Evangelical Traitors seize our Democracy. Dan Brown wrote fiction. If you understand real history and literature has a way shaping THE PRESENT…then you own a Time Machine. H.G. Welles explored this idea. Did he see a religious cult, based upon a few passages from Revelations, taking over the most powerful nation on earth? The Merovingians claimed they descended from King David who the Insurrectionist Loons mistake for their Lord and Savior, Donald Trump.
Did you take in your Golden Bee Lesson, so you wont’s have to die stupid?

The New Nation of Fromond will be born the day after Trump is inaugurated. I suggest we have a massive celebration in San Francisco celebrating the transfer of all America’s Creative Spirit over the The People of Fromond. Frodomond is a alternative spelling. Let us create a collective legacy that will be passed down for generations to come. The Counter Culture may not have suitable Heirs.
The Fromondese will be as Green as can be. More details are coming. Study the plans for Cascadia. John Fremont founded the West. I have read his French surname is derived from Fromond. Elon Musk’s Starlink in line for deal with FAA, raising potential ethical concerns
Edited By Alain Sherter

Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet service could be part of the Federal Aviation Administration’s plan to upgrade the nation’s aging air traffic control systems.
Starlink’s internet equipment is being tested in least two different FAA facilities. Starlink is also preparing to take over a $2 billion contract currently held by telecom provider Verizon, the Associated Press reported.

“If you receive federal assistance, that’s really scary,” said Deborah Thrope, deputy director of the legal advocacy organization National Housing Law Project. “There’s a lot of fear right now among federally assisted residents and HUD tenants that the rent is not going to get paid.”

As we were engaging with the Belmont community and City leaders, we were also exploring possible academic uses for a Stanford Belmont campus. This process has clarified that identifying and establishing those uses for a potential Belmont campus will take significantly longer than we initially planned.
In addition, the landscape for research universities has changed considerably since Stanford entered into the option purchase agreement with NDNU. These changes are resulting in greater uncertainties and a different set of institutional and financial challenges for Stanford.
In 1944 he married Mary Vanderpump: they had two daughters and one son.[14]
Through his father, Gwen John was John’s aunt, his half-sisters were Amaryllis Fleming, Gwyneth Johnstone and Vivien John, and Tristan de Vere Cole, John’s only living half-brother, is a retired television director. Johnstone and Vivien were also artists in their own right.[27][28][29][30][31]
John is said to have been the model for the iconoclastic artist depicted in Joyce Cary’s novel The Horse’s Mouth, which was made into a film of the same name. His fame – and notoriety – were such that he made the cover of Time magazine in 1928.
President Eisenhower – Artist

At 7:33 on July 11, 2020, I sent the following e-mail to the President of the United States.
“Dear Mr. President: May I suggest a statue of President Eisenhower be included in your proposed garden. Ike was an artist who rendered a hundred or more paintings while living in your home. He helped defeat the Nazis. He bid the Monument Men to return stolen art to rightful owners. He was a good friend of art dealer, Howard Young, who is the uncle of my kin, Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor.”
Waking Up A Real Bond Author

It is 5:54 A.M. July 24, 2024. Today I awoke as a legitimate James Bond author with credibility I have never owned in my life. I have won an……Award! I lie in bed making – The List!
I thank Spooky Noodles for believing in me since 1996, and, I thank Cees Roozemond who allowed me to post on his Facebook because he believed I was for real, while his daughter, belevd I was a dangerous old lech – stalking her.
Lara Roozemond was my solace during my, and America’s Darkest Hour. She rode my recuse – against her will. I used her, day after day, to lay low the Bad Guys! A year ago I brought her to Sandford, where her bodyguard encouraged her to get back in the saddle. It had been too long since she took, that great tumble! To Lara and Cees, this hand across the water…..salutes you!

(Mr. Presco has to accept this reward with his left hand, because he broke his right hand hitting a wall after the love of his life confessed she had betrayed him with a German Jetsetter in a club in Hollywood. John, at seventeen, ran away from his chance to be a success, in La La Land. Raymond Burr invited him to dinner. Mr. Burr loved to cook – I heard!)
I danced the Bolero for Marilyn – with my shirt off! It was her sixteenth birthday. I found a rusty pair of scissors buried in the dirty. I restored it. I didn’t have a dime to my name! He drove a T-Bird!
Last but t least, I thank Yulia Rose, who stole the spotlight from Rosemond. For two years I suffer with you, the pain of being split in two. Divided Loyalties, born in another Nation, that has gone insane. You Julia bring the Rose of Peace, trample in the dust of useless war. Thank you fir loving your boyfriend, with, a Immortal Love!
To our first love – we salute you!
“There are conflicting accounts of James Bond’s birthplace, including West Berlin and Zürich. In Casino Royale, Daniel Craig’s passport states that Bond was born in West Berlin on April 13, 1968. However, Ian Fleming’s You Only Live Twice establishes Bond as a Scot born in Glencoe to Andrew Bond and his Swiss wife Monique Delacroix. Charlie Higson’s Young Bond books also state that Bond was born in Zürich.”

One young woman was almost thrown out her saddle. Victoria was correct in making her bodyguard leave her spear in the limousine, or there would have been a stampede.
Spotting the framed photos on Commie Stuttmeister’s wall in the Old California Barrel Company, Victoria asked why he owned horses. Victor’s ancestors invested in the ranch Count Cipriani owned in Belmont and Palo Alto. He had driven a herd of cattle to this property the Rothschild bankers invested in. When the Count was made President of the Kingdom of Italy, all the hidden kingdoms in the world, shifted like the San Andreas Fault. The affects are still felt today. There are new lines drawn in the sand.
Victoria didn’t want to got to The Farm and ride. After her great fall, she was afraid she would get killed. Starfish was disgusted with her husband. There was a loud argument at the end of the old Belmont pier, that the killer for BAD – won! She began to recitee all the dangerous men – and women – that she dispatched.
The horses could smell blood on the beast with the narrow hips and tapered back, where from her wide Nordic shoulders swung these long arms that moved like the wild animal in that famous film, Victoria borrowed riding clothes, and saddled up a Stuttmeister horse. She chose the most spirited. When she came prancing out of th Red Barn, her horse reared up when it came onto the arena. Starfish gasped as her husband struggled to point the horse at the first jump. With a kick to it’s rib, the horse came charging in a cloud of dust. Victoria went for the tallest steeple – and she cleared it with room to spare! The Animal squealed with joy, causing the horses at a distance to sound an alarm!
“Yeti?”
Cougar!”
To be continued
I had my lunch with my Blue Russian out on the balcony. I had just seen Mike Pence announce he is running by going after transsexuals’ had just found “The Farm” and was inspired to compose again. It was a sign from the Rose Barn. Here is Lara Roozemond who inspired the first chapters of the Royal Janitor. She is an actress. who rode Friesian horses. Ces Roozemond is the head breeder. Lara is the girl in pigtails at an award ceremony. I am authoring the firs Bond book starring a woman. I suspect Lara is kin to Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor..

While this outcome is not what we hoped for or worked toward over the last few years, we remain committed to supporting the Belmont community, and we will make contributions toward improving public K-12 education, renewing the Barrett Community Center, and local transportation infrastructure. We are also working with NDNU and the City to support NDNU’s next steps with their campus property.

Born in Wales, John entered the Slade School in London at 17 and by the time he graduated three years later was touted as the most talented draftsman of his generation.During the First World War, John became a war artist with the Canadian forces and made memorable portraits of infantrymen, including The Canadians. These works were to comprise a huge mural for his patron, Lord Beaverbrook, the former Canadian who had become a British newspaper magnate. European Council President António Costa said that European Union member states will not demand any mineral resources from Ukraine in return for providing assistance.
Costa said in an interview with Suspilne media outlet that over the past three years, the European Union has been a major donor to Ukraine. “This is being done both for Ukrainians and for European security.”
Regarding Ukraine’s agreement with the United States on rare earth metals, the European Council President emphasized that Ukraine is a sovereign state. He stressed that Ukraine “has the right to manage its territory and conduct negotiations at the international level.”
The topic of mineral resources has become contentious in Ukraine’s relations with the United States. President Donald Trump stated he wants compensation for American aid to Ukraine during the full-scale war against Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated openness to American investments in mineral extraction. They discussed this idea in September 2024.

The university also said the landscape for research universities has changed considerably since Stanford entered into the option purchase agreement with NDNU.
“These changes are resulting in greater uncertainties and a different set of institutional and financial challenges for Stanford,” according to the statement.
In 2021, Stanford announced its plans to enter into an option-to-purchase agreement with Belmont’s Notre Dame de Namur University, and it had been partnering with the city on developing a special zoning district to allow for a range of uses, such as academic buildings and housing facilities.
Stanford was proposing about 50 to 200 housing units on the 46-acre site — for students as well as university employees — while maintaining the three historic structures on the property, including Ralston Hall Mansion. It planned to build on 700,000 square feet of the property and would be a 30-year agreement. The site currently has 24 buildings, with more than 320,000 square feet of office and classrooms.
The Catholic, nonprofit university based in Belmont decided to sell because it was confident that a sale to a compatible organization would lead to long-term sustainability.
NDNU operations have continued and the expectation was that it would be able to lease back space on campus for its operations, with both universities remaining independent.
The plan was for a host of community benefit contributions — largely, but not exclusively, financial — such as the restoration of Ralston Hall Mansion for public use, a million-dollar contribution toward TK-12 education programs, a shared-use agreement for the nearby Koret Field, as well as the commensurate development impact fees for each new facility.
Stanford in its statement said it would remain committed to supporting the Belmont community, and we will make contributions toward improving public K-12 education, renewing the Barrett Community Center and local transportation infrastructure. It also said it is working with NDNU and the city to support NDNU’s next steps with their campus property.
“We appreciate Stanford’s engagement throughout this process and their thoughtful approach to exploring a shared vision for the site,” Mayor Julia Mates said. “While we welcomed the opportunity to see this project move forward, we remain committed to working with NDNU, as the property owners, and Stanford to ensure a smooth transition and to explore future opportunities that align with the city’s long-term planning goals.”
Mates also emphasized NDNU’s importance to Belmont, and said the city will continue to support it however it can.
“They’ve been here longer than the city and are a continued asset to the city,” she said. “We are happy to have them.”
Beth Martin, president of NDNU, said she was disappointed the plans did not proceed but that officials were prepared for the possibility as the end of the purchase agreement timeline was nearing in June. The school, which previously contracted to online and graduate offerings, has been growing since 2021. Its enrollment has approximately doubled to 308, and could meet 400 for the fall.
Martin said the campus is too large for NDNU as it is now and they will continue to look for a location that is more appropriate in size and technological capability since many of its classes are online. The campus will immediately seek a new buyer who will honor its legacy and historical significance. Classes will continue on the Belmont campus next school year. She added they worked very well with Stanford.

S. Howard Young, one of the world’s wealthiest art dealers, died yesterday in his galleries in the Pierre Hotel after a brief illness. He was 94 years old on May 22.
Mr. Young was a close friend of the late President Dwight D. Eisenhower and was a great uncle of the actress Elizabeth Taylor. Her father, Francis Taylor, had been Mr. Young’s only partner in a 75‐year career. Mr. Taylor, who died in 1968, was Mr. Young’s nephew.
The art dealer was a resident of Miami Beach and had sum mer homes in Ridgefield, Conn., and Minocqua, Wis.
It was during a weekend visit with Mr. Young at Ridgefield in 1952 that General Eisenhower, then president of Columbia University, decided to enter the Presidential race. Also present were Bob Considine and Frank Farrell, the newspaper colum nists.
Mr. Considine advised the General that the Hearst news papers would support the Re publican nomination of Gen. Douglas MacArthur against Senator Robert A. Taft of Ohio. Mr. Farrell told the general that he thought the Scripps Howard newspapers’ editors might be willing to support him.
Soon afterward, Mr. Young arranged a reception here in the St. Regis Hotel for 200 guests. There the General ex changed views with the late Roy W. Howard, head of Scripps‐Howard. The organiza tion, in an unusual move, agreed to support the General before the convention.
Offered an Embassy
Mr. Young was with the gen eral on Election Night in No vember of 1952. When the voting trend became apparent, the general remarked, “Looks as though I’m going to be the next President.” Mr. Young re plied, “Yes, and it looks as though I have lost my best fishing and shooting partner.”
The general smiled and asked, “Where do you want to be an ambassador, Howard?”
Mr. Young shook his head and replied, “How about me being your ambassador to Boulder Junction [Colorado] or Minocqua or Woodruff in Wis consin?”
The art dealer’s house in Wisconsin is on a ridge over looking a lake. The General liked to swim there, but after his heart attack he was unable to handle the steep 140 ‐foot climb back to the house.

As a surprise for his friend, Mr. Young built a four‐passen ger funicular between the house and the diving board. Five years ago Mr. Young got into the funicular to descend to the lake. Partway down, the cable slipped and the car crashed, rocketing Mr. Young 24 feet into a tree. His only injury was a cut scalp.
Over the years the General gave three of his paintings to his friend, and last summer Mr. Young gave the paintings and the General’s letters to the Eisenhower Museum in Abilene, Kan.
Left Home at 10
Stephen Howard Young was born in Belle Center, Ohio, on May 22, 1878, the oldest son of Philip Young, a highway con struction supervisor, and the former Mary Funk.
At the age of 10, the young ster left home and started his career with a laundry and a newspaper route.
Although he had little formal education, he was an omnivo rous reader. It was not until just a few months ago that his eyes became oversensitive to light on a printed page. He ac quired an Oxonian command of English, a cosmopolite’s sense of humor and a reputation as a raconteur.

At 15, he became interested in chromolithography and sold prints in the Midwest. By the age of 18 he had amassed a fortune of $400,000. It was 1896, the year a panic of major proportions shook the nation, and the young man lost every thing in it.
He started over again, this time with oil paintings. He sought out good portrait artists, read obituary notices, obtained photographs of deceased mem beers of affluent families, had oil portraits painted and sold them to the families at $2,000 each.
One day a woman showed, him some catalogues of well known art works and asked him to try to buy some for her, offering a commission of $300 for each purchase. This began his career as an art dealer.
When he was 22 he met and married Mabel Rosemund of Springfield, Ill. Mrs. Young died in 1955. There were no children. During their early married life, they lived in St. Louis. There Mr. Young learned of a man who wanted to buy a Frederic Remington painting. Mr. Young then owned Reming ton’s “The Overland Stage” and took it to his prospect.
En route, he got into a poker game with three oilmen, Harry Sinclair, Frank Phillips and Bill Skelly. They became close friends and Mr. Young became a highly successful investor in oil.
Mr. Sinclair told Mr. Young that he and his business be longed in New York. He gave him a check to set up here, taking an I.O.U. in return. Mr. Young never cashed the check, but he took the advice and moved his galleries.
Mr. Young also bought Florida Power & Light stock after a visit to Florida in 1915, when he foresaw the Miami area’s growth as a resort and bought a home there.
One of his worst mistakes, Mr. Young once recalled, was buying a Van Gogh painting in Rotterdam in the early 1930’s for $5,000 and selling it soon afterward for $10,000. The same painting brought $850,000 at a recent Parke‐Bernet auction.
Tilted With Duveen
Mr. Young engaged in spec tacular art duels with Sir Joseph Duveen, his most serious com petitor. He had uncanny luck in guessing when Sir Joseph was obligated to buy a painting and often, without reason, would force the bid up.
In a 1928 auction Mr. Young stopped bidding on Gains. borough’s “The Harvest Wag on” at $350,000. Sir Joseph bought it for $360,000.

Perhaps Mr. Young’s biggest achievement in art was his dis covery of the lost El Greco en titled “Christ Healing the Blind.” It was attributed to Tin toretto when Mr. Young bought it at an auction. He had it authenticated at The Prado, in Madrid. The painting is now in the Charles Wrightsman col lection.
On one occasion he bought a painting of the Duchess‐Coun tess of Sutherland, supposed to have been a Romney, and sold it to Lawrence P. Fisher of Detroit, for $150,000. When it was learned that the real por trait was still held by the Suth erland family and that the painting he had bought was a copy, Mr. Young returned Mr. Fisher’s money and got his own back from the sellers.
Mr. Young was a horseman, a golfer, an archer and a skeet shot prize‐winner as well as a hunter and fisherman.
He was a founder of the Minocqua Country Club and a member, of the Turf & Field Clubs at the Hialeah, and Gulf Stream tracks. He also was one of the earlier members of the Indian Creek Club, and he belonged to the Surf Club and the Bath Club. In New York be was a member of the Metro politan Club and the Lotos Club.
Howard Young’s Legacy
Howard Young’s Love for the Lakeland area.

It wasn’t until the will of S. Howard Young was made public on Aug. 15, 1972, that residents of the Lakeland area began to understand how deeply this man loved the Northwoods of Wisconsin and the people who reside within its boundaries.
On that day in 1972 they learned that Howard Young had bequeathed approximately $20 Million dollars for a health center so that the area would have the finest facilities and continue to attract outstanding doctors of the caliber that had joined the staff of the first hospital–Lakeland Memorial Hospital.
The will further stated that the “net income is to be paid in perpetuity to the hospital to be used for its own general purposes and that $7 Million dollars be used only for the purpose of constructing, equipping, furnishing and opening a new main hospital.”
Indeed, Howard Young had a love affair with the Lakeland area that spanned some 65 years, and the impact of the love was reaffirmed on Saturday, June 18, 1977, with the dedication of the Howard Young Medical Center. It will continue to be reaffirmed, ad infinitum, through its operation.
Stephen Howard Young was born in Belle Center, Ohio, on May 22, 1878, the eldest of five children who would eventually comprise the family of Philip and Mary Funk Young. His father was a highway construction supervisor.
It seemed as if Howard Young was born with great ambition. His mother soon realized that his ambitions far surpassed anything that Belle Center had to offer, and so it was with her blessing that he left his home at age 10 to make his way in the world.
His business career began simply, delivering for both a laundry and a paper route. When he was 15 years of age he turned to chromolithography (the process of lithographing in colors), a relatively new innovation in 1893. His first operation was in Anderson, Ind., and as his business flourished he opened offices in Cincinnati and Lima, Ohio, plus Peoria, Ill.
By 1896, at the age of 18, Howard Young had amassed a fortune of $400,000. This was also the year of the panic and he lost it all.
He began again…
By now he had decided his future lay in oil paintings. He contracted for the services of several prominent portrait artists in the area. Then, following an obituary notice, he would contact the family and sell them oil paintings from the snapshots they provided of the deceased. They sold at $2,000 each.
One of his clients then asked him to select and buy paintings for her home, paying a commission of $300 for each one. This moved Howard Young into a career as an art dealer.
In 1900, Young married Mabel Rosemund of Springfield, Ill., and moved to St. Louis where he established his headquarters. His wife preceded him in death in 1955. There were no children of the marriage.
His business continued to flourish. Then one day he learned of a man in Bartlesville, Okla., who was looking for a Remington to purchase.
Young had one and he was immediately off to Oklahoma. While there he played poker with Harry Sinclair, Frank Phillips and Bill Skelly, and a new chapter in his career opened–investments. It opened with investments in oil.
In St. Louis, Young became friendly with the Busch and Lambert families. He bought shares of Anheuser-Busch stock that he never sold. He was a wise investor and unloaded a great deal of stock just before the crash in 1929. His one regret was that he sold his IBM stock too soon, for although he made a fine profit, it was nothing compared to what it would have been if he had held it.
He was as wise in his art dealings as he was investing. His greatest achievement was his discovery of the “Lost El Greco”–“Christ Healing The Blind.” This painting now hangs in the Metropolitan Art Museum.
In his art dealings, Young had one regret. He bought a Van Gogh for $5,000, sold it for $10,000, and shortly before his death it sold for $850,000.
In 1907, Howard Young developed a nervous ailment. His doctors recommended a summer vacation in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, and thus began his love affair with Lakeland area.
Howard Young was an art dealer for 75 years. His only partner was his nephew, Francis Taylor–Elizabeth Taylor’s father, who died in 1968.
He did have a multitude of friends and he considered Dwight D. Eisenhower one of his closest. He played an instrumental part in Eisenhower’s entering the 1952 presidential race. He arranged a reception for Eisenhowers with Scripps Howard newspaper executives and it was at this reception that Ike obtained their support. Without this, he probably never would have entered politics.
Howard Young revealed a little of his true feelings for the Lakeland area when, on election night, after learning of his victory, Eisenhower turned to him and asked him where he would like to be ambassador. Young’s reply–“in Minocqua, Woodruff and Boulder Junction.”
In later years, after Eisenhower had suffered his heart attack. Young built a special track down the hill from his home to the lake. Its car carried Eisenhower for his daily swims that he loved so well. Without it, Ike could not have negotiated the steep hill.
During their years of friendship, Eisenhower presented Howard Young with three of his signed paintings. These, along with their correspondence, were donated to the Eisenhower Museum in Abilene, Kansas.
Young was an avid sportsman. He loved golf and he was an excellent skeet shooter; but hunting and fishing were probably his favorite spots. He kept homes in Florida and Connecticut, but Minocqua was his favorite retreat, for here he could indulge in all his favorite sports.
Howard Young died at the age of 94 on June 23, 1972. He died among his favorite art treasures in his galleries in the Hotel Pierre in New York City. His remains lie in Detroit…but his heart and memories are alive in the Lakeland area.
His only survivor is a sister in Detroit.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 A.M. in the William E. Hamilton Fu neral Chapel in Detroit.
Minocqua has a little Presidential History. President Dwight Eisenhower would come here to visit his friend Howard Young. Ike loved to fish during his stays here. He attended a PowWow in Lac du Flambeau and even attended a Min-Aqua Bats ski show.
On that day in 1972 they learned that Howard Young had bequeathed approximately $20 Million dollars for a health center so that the area would have the finest facilities and continue to attract outstanding doctors of the caliber that had joined the staff of the first hospital–Lakeland Memorial Hospital.

Augustus John, Welsh painter, draughtsman, and etcher, c1920. Portrait of John (1878-1961). Illustration from “Story of the British Nation”, Volume IV, by Walter Hutchinson, (London, c1920s).

“Howard Young was as wise in his art dealings as he was investing. His greatest achievement was his discovery of the “Lost El Greco”–“Christ Healing The Blind.” This painting now hangs in the Metropolitan Art Museum.”
Howard Young and Mabel Rosemond had no children. Therefore, I splice and attache all the creative history to this Rose Line. Howard promoted the artist Augustus John, and was the best friend of Victor Cazalet, who also had no children. He was Liz’s godfather. I delare myself the Caretaker of their artistic history – and then some. Because Bryan Mclean had no children, I consider myself the caretaker of his family history. George Mclean was the godfather of Liz’s son.
“Young’s good friend was President Dwight D. Eisenhower and he, too, spent time in the area. “There are several pictures, him and Howard Young would fish here and also President Eisenhower’s brothers would come up here,” said Solberg.”

President Bush, Obama, and others are confronting President Trump about his embracing Neo-Nazis, and Neo-Confederate Christian Co-Terrorists, that President Eisenhower warned about.
Mrs. Elizabeth Mary Taylor’s sister (Mabel Rosemond) had married Howard Young, a famous artist who had galleries in St. Louis, then New York, and London.
Talitha Pol married John Paul Getty, Her father was Willem Jilts Pol, a painter who subsequently married Poppet John daughter of the painter. Tlaitha is related to Peter and Ian Fleming, and my kin, Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, who descends from the Dutch families of Rover and Rosemondt. We are looking at a modern-day Dutch Bohemian Renaissance!
Ian Fleming’s novels generated more money from his books made into movies than Dan Brown, and was a real spy working with real codes.

“We’ve seen nationalism distorted into nativism, forgotten the dynamism that immigration has always brought to America,” Mr. Bush said. “We see a fading confidence in the value of free markets and international trade, forgetting that conflict, instability and poverty follow in the wake of protectionism. We’ve seen the return of isolationist sentiments, forgetting that American security is directly threatened by the chaos and despair of distant places.”
“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron.”
“Don’t join the book burners. Don’t think you’re going to conceal faults by concealing evidence that they ever existed. Don’t be afraid to go in your library and read every book…”
“Should any political party attempt to abolish social security unemployment insurance and eliminate labor laws and farm programs you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group of course that believes you can do these things. Among them are a few other Texas oil millionaires and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid.”
― Dwight D. Eisenhower
Godfather to Elizabeth Taylor[edit]
Cazalet, who had a passion for fine art, became a close friend of American art gallery owners Francis Taylor and his wife Sara, parents of Elizabeth, after they had moved from the U.S. to London in 1936.[1] Cazalet let the Taylor family, who were also Christian Scientists, spend their weekends in a separate 16th century cottage on his estate in Kent.[1] He wanted them to think of England as their new home.[22]:13
He gave 4-year-old Elizabeth a horse named Betty as a gift, which she would ride bareback throughout the property.[1] The Taylors asked him to be her godfather, after which he became an important influence during her early life.[1] At one time while Elizabeth suffered the first of many near-fatal illnesses, Elizabeth begged her mother to “please call Victor and ask him to come and sit with me.” Cazalet then drove ninety miles through thick fog to be at her side.[24] When he arrived, recalled her mother, “Victor sat on the bed and held Elizabeth in his arms and talked to her about God,” and soon after the fever had broken.[22]:14
At a lunch with Churchill in April 1939, Cazalet learned that a war was coming, and was permitted by Churchill to inform others.[22]:24 Cazalet, concerned for the Taylor family’s safety, urged Francis to close his art gallery as soon as possible and return with his family to America. Because of the time needed to vacate the gallery, he suggested that Sara and his children should be sent back alone where Francis could later join them. They took his advice and eventually ended up in Los Angeles where he established a new gallery.[1]
As Cazalet was an acquaintance of screen actor DeWolf Hopper and his former wife, Hollywood columnist Hedda Hopper, he sent a letter of introduction on behalf of Elizabeth to Ms. Hopper, to help 7-year-old Elizabeth become involved in acting.[1][24] Hopper met with Elizabeth and Sara and offered to help. Months later, Cazalet wrote in his diary for 16 April 1941, “Imagine excitement of Taylors. Elizabeth has a contract for seven years with a big cinema group.”[22]:33

The CanadiansAugustus John1878 – 1961Once considered the most promising British artist of the early 20th century, Augustus John led a bohemian existence that often captured more attention than his artwork. However, like many of John’s ambitious undertakings, the mural was never completed. After the war, John became Britain’s leading portrait painter. Among his subjects were Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother), Lloyd George, G. B. Shaw, T. E. Lawrence, Sean O’Casey and Dylan Thomas.John is said to have been the model for the iconoclastic artist depicted in Joyce Cary’s novel The Horse’s Mouth, which was made into a film of the same name. His fame – and notoriety – were such that he made the cover of Time magazine in 1928.
