13 Frightened Girls (also known as 13 Frightened Girls! and The Candy Web) is a 1963 Pathécolor Cold War spy film directed and produced by William Castle. Kathy Dunn stars as a teenage sleuth who finds herself embroiled in international espionage.
Castle, who was famous for promoting his films with gimmicks, generated publicity by advertising for girls from 13 countries to compete for parts as daughters of diplomats. However, not all of the 15 actresses were from the countries that they represented in the film; for example, American Judy Pace plays a Liberian.
Plot
After a 16-year-old girl Candy Hull develops a crush on intelligence agent Wally Sanders in London, she helps him to uncover a communist plot against the United States.

13 Frightened Girls was first released in Australia as The Candy Web in March 1963.[1]
In April 1963, the film’s title was changed to 13 Frightened Girls in preparation for its American release.[4] The world premiere of 13 Frightened Girls with its new title was held at the Circle Theatre in Indianapolis on June 13, 1963.[5] An advance screening at other Indiana theaters had taken place on June 11.[6] The film premiered in Los Angeles on August 28, 1963, and in New York on September 11, 1963.[3]
In many American markets, 13 Frightened Girls was released as a second feature along with Gidget Goes to Rome.[2]
Reception
Contemporary critical reviews were generally negative and panned the film for its implausible plot.
The News & Observer wrote: “The incredibly contrived goings-on that occur in ’13 Frightened Girls’ and dramatic absurdities of the production are more that can be tolerated by any but the most puerile audiences. The picture fluctuates between comedy and suspense melodrama. Incidents are built up, then dropped like hot political potatoes whenever explanations and resolutions are in order.”[7]
Carol Taylor of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram wrote: “’13 Frightened Girls’ … is something of a misleading title. Most of the time there’s just one frightened girl. … With all the energy and vivacity of any death-defying 16-year-old, she plays tennis, attends parties, bewitches boys and digs up startling bits of classified information simultaneously.”[8]
In The New York Times, critic Louis Calta wrote: “The young Mata Hari is vigorously played by pretty Kathy Dunn, who was one of the Trapp children in The Sound of Music. If only young Kathy could have raised her voice in song instead of playing detective, things might have been different at the United States Embassy.”[3]
Home media
The film was released on DVD in 2009 as part of the William Castle Film Collection.[9] Sony also released a DVD of the film by itself. The film was released on Blu-ray in 2016 by Mill Creek Entertainment as part of a double-feature disc with the 1960 Castle film 13 Ghosts.

Fourteen Bullhead Policemen worked on the death of my niece, Drew Taylor Rosemond Benton. The cost to Bullhead City has to be enormous. I feel for all those – who serve and protect – who had to see an extremely bloody scene, and find out of it was a crime scene. When it looked like suicide, these officers searched for a reason – why? I know the rescue of the cats was hard. I am reminded of the killing of the puppy when I took the Mafia to court o\in Boston that is the main source of my PTSD. I witnessed the darkest side of humanity, being some people will do anything to get their way. If you get in their way, then expect the very worst. Drew’s cats are completely innocent and have no explanation of what happened. The human that loved and cared for them, did not come home.
When I went to office on November 1st to pay my rent, I complained about being TARGETTED, signaled out for special treatment by a couple who do not live here, but, have rented a garage her for a month, or more. I wanted to know what their rights were according to the lease they signed. Did I own seniority, and more rights than they – because I live here? My lease says I must be respectful of fellow tenants – and their rights! I didn’t want to break my lease and get evicted. Death on the streets at 78 years of age seemed a real possibility. Is it?
As I was grilled by two female managers I held one of the biography’s about Drew and her famous parents that mentions incest and the sexual abuse of my relatives when they were children. It is said Christine Rosamond Benton had spent time in therapy and came to believe all father’s molest their children. A terrible divorce just ended when my sister downed in the what she feared the most. In a text the garage woman sent me, she says a minor is being fought over, and alcoholism is involved. I used the words “child abuse” in the office.
I was going to use Snyder’s bio as evidence of the ongoing abuse of a senior, and as a possible culprit in the suicide of Garth Benton’s daughter. who went to high school with the parents of Kim Hafner who became my neighbor seven years ago. Kim agreed to be the model for my first Detective Book-Series ‘Kimbo and Wade’, thus I get to write about her. This story led me to begin ‘The Royal Janitor’ that is coming true due to the cabinet pick of the President Elect. I and others are very afraid.
When detective Holstom and I first talked on the phone, she told me she could not find any of Drew’s kin, yet she found Shamus Dundon who said he did not know his cousin suffered from mental illness, that is found on THAT side of the family. What side is that, Shamus? My nephew said he and Drew had talked about PLAYING VIDEO GAMES TOGETHER! What?
The day after Christine’s funeral Drew was dropped off by Garth to play video games with Shamus, who was good with computers. Drew was eight, and kept from her mother’s funeral by her father. How insane is this? The year is 1994. Computer games are just taking off. Vicki and Drew were really into EverQuest. I wondered if Drew was playing this fantasy game when she lost touch with reality. She began to stab herself with an ornate knife. A poem was found by the police. Garth’s daughter was wandering around in a car dealership, and is captured on camera. Fourteen policemen searched for the reason Drew took her life. I put forth a theory, that someone took away the life of her Avatar, and the insolation around her deep pain – dissolved! She was guessing at what reality is – most of her life! Her parents were Master Illusionists. Garth was a thespian and appeared in two movies.
When Kim Hafner and I became friends, she introduced me to her parents who met at Reseda High School, and were extremely into their High School History – and their gemology – that I offered to help them with. In one day I discovered Garth Benton went to Reseda around the same time. This made the Hafner’s very happy. I told Sue there is a book about Garth and Christine. I ordered that book, and gave it to Kim Hafner to read. A month later I asked for my family story, back. Kim said she did not read it. I asked if her parents read it. She said they had not. There were about eleven dog-eared pages, that did not exist when I handed Drew’s Story to her. Her defense was I INFLICTED Drew’s Story on my neighbors, and this was….ABUSE! In the video below I am questioned about me being eligible to be on Section Eight, and live here, being I am so famous. One neighbor says;
“You need to be locked up because you are a lunatic!”
Drew’s ex-boyfriends told an officer, Drew said she was pregnant with his child – and he was Jesus! Did Drew need to be locked up? Is it just fine that she had a horrible dearth, because – SHE WAS A LUNATIC. Was – is the key word. Kim Hafner is a retired nurse who worked at the Johnson Unit for many years. Sid she thing I was a dangerous lunatic – who needs to be locked up? How come Kim did not call CAHOOTS. I told her and two of her family members, this…

Take note of my ex-upstairs neighbor coming up to me and grasping my arm. I and her caregiver could not stop her from doing this. Cheryl said this to me..

She was saying she gets to do what she wants to me, and if I resist, she will have me killed.
I am compiling this information for Manuel at Riverstone who is going to go with me when I file a complaint with Adut Services. The mention of me being on Section 8 should be considered a THREAT to get me moved out of my apartment where I have lived for Twenty-one years. These people are out for REVENGE! Yesterday I read about the trail of blood leading from Drew’s apartment to the third floor railing that was smeared with blood when my niece climbed over the railing, like you see in this video – and jumped! She survived and died in the hospital after pulling all her life-support tubes out. Why wasn’t she restrained? I have never heard of such a horrific – DESIRE TO DIE! They say the case is closed. I disagree. I suspect someone killed Drew in cyberspace, and this was VERY REAL for her.
What if I snuck into Sue Hafner’s home in the middle of the night, and burned all her year books and High School memorabilia on the front lawn? Would this kill Sue – break her heart beyond repair? Drew died of a heart attack two hours after she – jumped! I believe she did not know who she was anymore. It was not easy for me to navigate her cremation. When her ashes were DELIVERED to me, I grasped when I opened the door: For there stood Jesus with a light in back of his head. I read the words on the box, and went for my phone. I was already fighting REAL demons, and for days I fought them for the soul of the Daughter of Garth and Christine Benton – who found a home, found sanctuary in my home!
I believe Drew’s cats are safe. I say a prayer for the brave officers who sought the truth, that day…

Garth Benton Went To Reseda High

Yesterday, Sue Hafner, returned my call. I had just discovered that Garth Benton (Paul Garfield Benton) went to Reseda High School, and graduated in 1959. Two months ago I was at Sue and Jack’s home looking at family photos, and the 1958 yearbook, because Sue had graduated in 1958 from Reseda High. I was going to help her with a story about her grandfather, Maynard, a renowned pole vaulter. Jack Webb was at his wedding.
As it turns out, the actress, Merry Anders, played police woman, Dorothy Miller, in the series Dragnet, and, co-starred in the movie with Garth Benton, who played Buddy ‘Raiders From Beneath The Sea. Merry starred in ‘The Hypnotic Eye’ and ‘The Beauty and the Beast’. This makes Garth the most famous graduate of Reseda High.

On June 12 I connected my story ‘Kimbo and Wade’ with the Hypnotic Eye. Kim Hafner is my model for Kimbo, which is Kim’s nickname. Kim lives downstairs with Daisy, who is the model of Witzelina. The synchronicity is amazing! Merry might be the first T.V. police woman. Sue was not happy when she saw the words on the T-Shirt Kimbo was wearing. She is the New Detective who will change the game again.
As an amazing coincidence, Christine and I had a falling out in front of her second husband, Rick Partlow, who was a good friend, Bruce Fairbairn, who was present. Bruce was one of the stars of ‘The Rookie’. Rick was a co-star in a movie.

Anders was born Mary Helen Anderson in Chicago in 1934,[1] the only child of Charles, a contractor, and Helen Anderson. Anders was of German, Irish and Swedish descent. In 1949, Anders and her mother visited Los Angeles for two weeks. They decided to remain in Los Angeles permanently while Charles Anderson remained in Chicago.[2] While she was a student at John Burroughs Middle School, Anders met former actress Rita LeRoy who encouraged her to begin a modeling career. While working as a junior model, Anders began studying acting at the Ben Bard Playhouse. It was there that a talent scout from 20th Century Fox spotted her and signed her to a film contract in 1951.[3]

Golden Girls of the Corn Cob
“I know when I am really interested in someone or something, I like to get my hands on as
many resources as possible to get information from a variety of points of view. So I don¡¯t see that it needs to be an either/or situation.”
This is what Patrice Hanson said to me about Tom Snyder’s awful, lying biography that sunk the Rosamond legacy. Tom was a nobody. There were two Bob Weir’s of the Grateful Dead thanks to Patrice’s husband who was arrested twice for impersonating him. Heather had two Daddies, and only one mother, not counting her aunt Linda. My only child is a chameleon and goes with the flow.
Here is what you got when you want two authors:

What “family members” and “others”? All the looting took place the day before when I was kept away. As for other, my good friend, Micahel Harkins attended Christine’s funeral in an official capacity. He had done PI for the famous San Francisco Detective, Bill Lindhart. Michael was a god friend of Jim Morrison and his friend, the famous Beat Poet, Michael McClure seen walking before Jim and throwing the bird. Oliver Stone’s people asked Michael to give them some antidotes for that lousy film, and Michael gave them the bird.
In 1976 Michael and I came up with an idea for a film. We would drive his Bently to Nebraska and look for the Female Messiah – The Chosen One! We would be wearing white suits and Italian shades. We would drive up to Rena’s High School during a football game, and ask if anyone has seen her.

As fate would have it, the minister’s wife did a Terot card reading for the Rose of the Word just before she was killed by that “rogue wave” and the Death Card came up. Khara Bromily wrote the screenplay ‘The Chosen One’. I am beginning to believe the Phantom of the Opera is for real.
I do not recall when I wrote most of my novelette ‘Golden Girls of the Corn Cob’ that has Michael and I going to Nebraska to save Rena from a cult following of women who believe she is the female messiah, just because she looks like Jesus’ daughter – if he had one. I had just read “Even Cowgirls Get The Blues’ by Tom Robbins.
Michael met McClure when he was going to the College of Arts and Crafts. Michael was an artist. So was his brother who went with Rena and I on a road trip in the Dodge I called ‘President Eisenhower. Tom Snyder wrote a book on Route 66. What did he know about art? Snyder did not know my family. He was an outsider, like Patrice and her family. I was appalled at how she and our daughter (too) played me like outsiders. My daughter was not an outsider in my mind, but the Skull-Witches bid Heather to play her cards that way, lest she be let into the inner Rosy Circle, and the door slammed after her.
Snyder was Patrice’s foot in the door, and I could not get her to remove it. Every time I tried, my attempts were turned into evil toads that were proof I was shutting my daughter out. Patrice low-balled everything. Feeling insecure she put me way beneath her! Heather came to believe I was the scum of the earth. Patrice had brought our daughter into many cults. I fought with a big head of Scientology over my – family? This is when Patrice disappeared my daughter.
In Rosamond’s painting above we may be seeing the blonde beauty that Michael spotted getting out of a Rolls Royce at the funeral. Who is she? Her husband flies his own jet all over the world.
It appears some people who were looking to promote their agenda were allowed to attache themselves to the death of the famous Rose of the World – like parasites!. My daughter demands I give her side of the family complete privacy. I posted this several years ago. Hence Rosamond’s cult has spread into Russia.
Tom Snyder and the Rowdy Girls
I just discovered that Khara Bromily, who gave Christine a Tarot Card reading,
co-authored two movie scripts ‘The Rowdy Girls’ and ‘The Chosen One: Legend of
the Raven’ starring Julie Strain who looks like Rena on steroids. Strain has
been titled “Queen of the B-movies” and “Queen of All Media “. One can say that
Julie Strain is the inner Rosamond. I hereby crown Christine Rosamond ‘Queen of
B Artists’. We lived in Concord where Strain was born.
Here is Khara Bromily telling Tom Snyder the Death card came up in Rosamond’s
Tarot card reading a week before she drowned.
“Was there any indication to Khara in her vision, or the cards themselves, of
death or impending doom? Did Christine have any concerns in that regard?
My work is about health and forgiveness and self-worth. A death pronouncement
can work against all that. But, if you are asking if a Death card came up, then

Here is the Genesis of the Rosamond Cult. Tom Snyder is suggesting there were
supernatural forces at play in regards to the death of a World Famous B Artist.
Working in tandum, it is obvious Tom Snyder and Khara are interested in
immortalizing Christine so they can enhance their careers as authors. Hugh
Bromily conducted the funeral services. Is Christine ‘The One’ who would give
rise to a new generation of Super Women who would defeat the Poisoned Male
Pedigogy and restore Lillith to her rightful throne?
Tom Snyder smears my family, tells the world that those in Rosamond’s home after
the funeral looted the place! Of course we looted the place, the Rosamond Women
are the original Rowdy Women, the daughters of a real cowboy and Ozark
Hillbilly. Consider ‘The Beverely Hillbillies’. Looting the home of your dead
kin is traditional in the Ozarks! What the fuck does that outsider know. He
should be horse-whipped! Tom Snyder doesn’t even cut it as a B Author! He is a D
Author who wrote a wimpy manual on how to avoid getting hooked up with a famous
manic depressive female artist. Ah! He’s no fun!
“Oh it was just awful.” Lillian recalls. ‘Rosemary was shouting that Shannon was
late, ‘and ought to have her butt kicked.’ I don’t know all what she said after
that but she had her silver flask with her and it was getting rough.”
Of course Rosemary had her silver flask, all the Rosamond Women carry a
silverflask containing a magic potion to ward off rival Succubuses.
Above we see a photo of Rosemary at the Rucker office party being led around the
room by her beads, she dressed like a Flapper, a Hooker for the Mob. If you put
Carmen Electra, and Julie Strain in a ring with seventy year old Rosemary in a
walker, it would be ruled a No Contest! Rosemary chased Vic out of our home
after stabbing him between the eyes with a knife. He never to returned. He would
accuse me of helping Rosemary bannish him, but, Rosemary didn’t need any help.

days before the funeral at the meeting I was kept away from. They needed all the

So here is our next B-Movie Babe, the self professed “Queen of All Media ” Julie
Strain. Now This 6’1 foot busty babe ( 40D-27-38 ) may look familiar to some
people, and that’s because she has been pretty sucessful as a “cult” type model.
She has been drawn and painted in Heavy Metal magazine and various pin-ups. She
has also served as the model for the heroine in the animated film “Heavy Metal:
F.A.K.K 2.A few interesting tidbits on this former Penthouse Pet of the Year (
93 ) is that she actually has suffered from amnesia. She was riding a horse (
and I’ve seen her movies..the girl dosen’t just ride horses ) and suffered a
nasty head injury which has left her with few memories of her life before the
accident. It’s almost a real-life scenario of most of these movies plots.Julie
is also married to Kevin Eastman. Comic book geeks know him best as one of the
creator’s of ” The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ” and owner of Heavy Metal
magazine.
Now I have seen a bunch of Julie’s films in my time and she always looked like
that woman who could kick the sh!t out of you, and she probably could. Her
character was usually the bad ass chick who’d carry guns both in her hands and
in her shirt , and would blow up a ton of stuff, and then unwind usually by
skinny dipping in a hot tub, sometimes even with other gals.
Strain was born in Concord, California. A graduate of Diablo Valley College, she
had an extensive athletic background. Much of her youth was wiped from her
memory, however, when she was left with a case of retrograde amnesia due to a
severe head injury suffered in a fall from a horse.[1] She eventually made her
way to Las Vegas and later Hollywood, California and her career took off.

Turtles co-creator and Heavy Metal magazine Editor in Chief Kevin Eastman.
According to Eastman’s blog and Strain’s MySpace page, they separated several
years prior but maintained a relationship in public for undisclosed reasons.[2]
They have since undergone a “friendly divorce”. She met her new boyfriend,
Wayne, in a tattoo shop. She has also retired from show business.[3] Julie often
appears in the magazine in photos or pictures painted by her close friends
Olivia De Berardinis, Simon Bisley, and Luis Royo.

Marilyn came over and picked up Christin’s biography. We have been exchanging stories about my later sister. Marilyn has done some sewing for Rosamond who is wearing her Train Dress like the one Debbie Boone has on. M was invited to the opening of the second gallery. Christine gave her two paintings ‘The Song of the Dragon’ and ‘Beach’ that is a painting of my niece, Drew. Her cousin Cian is ‘Garden Child’ and on Christine’s right, is our mother, Rosemary. Rosamond painted her family.
The rival, Sue Hafner family, and her anti-Art Gang made threats in order oppress the gifted children in my family.
Marilyn made the coat the actor, Rick Partlow, is wearing for their wedding. Christine models a Train Dress.

Marilyn at Moonfire Ranch

When Marilyn told me her portfolia got burned up in a fire, I grieved, for she told me within were photographs of her friend, Maggie Thrett. She is posing in the dresses and outfits M made for this actress who was in ‘Mudd’s Women’ a Star Trek eposode.
M had gone to Paris when she was seventeen to study fashoin design. Like the Rosamond Women, she made her own clothes. M&M used to go to parties togethers, and the Reneisance Fair, with their mutual friend, Jane Marie Mandsfield, the daughter of the famous actress who was the other Blonde Hollywood Bobmshell. Mother and daughter both appeared in Playboy magazine that did a centerfold shoot at Moonfire last year.
When I reminded M she has one photo of just her and Jane in it, she asked me;
“Who do you think took the photo?”
I blushed!
When Maggie was invted to the Moonfire Ranch, she got M an invite. At this famous Bohemian house that overlooks the Paccific Ocean, M met McDonald who married Ertha Kitt. He took a liking to Marilyn who made it on the A list. Perhaps it was the modeling she did in this artist’s retreat that was in the movie Mondo Hollywood that starred Jane Mansfield. M said she posed against this mural an artist rendered in a out-of-this world home that Captain Kirk might dwell in on his days off.
Here again is that architectural theme that we find in the Big Sur, and the house designed by for Allan Fox. This is why I was shocked to learn Allan sold that home shortly after Christine drowned, it the kind of home you keep in the family for generations to come. Julie Lynch sold a movie script about Rosamond to the director who did ‘Scent of a Woman’. Will Hollywood be going out to Rocky Point?
At Mooonfire the rich and famous came to partake of the creative ambience and behold other beautiful people. George Harris and Andy Warhol have been guests. Manson and his women did a walk-on.

Marilyn lived in Latico Canyon up the coast. She and her boyfriend were going to raise Russian Wolf Hounds on a ranch they rented. M would walk on Santa Monica and Venice Beach with her two hounds wearing the scarves and dresses she made. The famous fashion photographer, Steven Silverstein did a shoot of M on Malibu Beach. The movie ‘Harper’ was shot at Moonfire. Consider Pynchon’s book ‘Inherent Vice’ that is being made into a movie. The Manson Murders lurk in the background. Marilyn walks out of a Icart on to the sands of Venice with her hounds, she hot on the trail of the Great Mystery of Life.
When Mary Ann Tharaldsen and I flew down to LA to get married, we slept in Marilyn’s bed. Mary Ann had a aversion to motels and hotels that I assumed was a hangover from her marriage to Thomas Pynchon. M let M wear one of her Train Dresses that was inspired by a pattern that Maggie found, she wanting M to make her a house robe. We got married in Topanga Canyon by a minister who went to Hollywood Boulevard in order to convert lost Hippie street urchins. Bryan MacLean sang ‘Amazing Grace’ at our wedding. He was converted to Christianity by the same minister that converted Bob Dylan.
The biography ‘Forever Changes’ says my friend, Bryan McLean lived at Vito Paulekas’ warehouse and practiced with the band that was once called ‘The Grass Roots’. There is a Laurel Canyon connection. Vito was a sculpture who surrounded himself with wild chicks and nude dancers, some who became the GTOs. Vito is in Mondo Hollywood, as is Lewis Mark, the owner of Moonfire.
In Forever Changes, Arthur Lee talk about the first time they saw Bryan and the Whiskey a Go-Go. He was surrounded by beautiful young women, his followers. It is alleged Arthur invited Bryan to join his band because these girls were Groupies of the Bryds, whom Bryan was a roadie for. But, Bryan was a Chick magnet in High School. He would take me on his rounds, usually on Friday night. He made dates with three girls. When we came thru the door, it was as if he was celebrity. The mothers swooned, and did all they could to get my Bryan to stay. While Bryan is at Vito’s warehouse, Andy Walhol is doing a similar scene in New York.
Cue the Beautiful Gypsy Bandit who with her gang of Bohemian Ragamuffins, the next generation Hippie-chic that tried to hijack this blog, that may contain a Murder Mystery.
