When Art is on Your Side

I signed up for the Crab Feed at Depoe Bay three months ago. I love crab. This morning I found out the fishing trip in the movie ‘One Flew Over the Coo-Coos Nest’ was filmed here. I took a photo of us seniors boarding the bus at the Willamalane Center in Springfield that got lost.

On the bus I pointed out the butte (where the Miller brothers used to roll boulders down) to three women sitting in the back. Susanne tells me she worked at the Creamery and knew my friend Nancy, well. She also tells me about this well-known local photographer. I didn’t know it then, but I was in Dream Time.  For over a week I considered writing the next chapter of my novel ‘Anatomy of a Rogue Wave’, but I could not recall the title. I searched my blog for Don Roscoe.  Hours earlier I had discovered the movie ‘The Forger’ shot in Carmel.

On Friday, the 15th. I had trouble sleeping. I had seen on the news a report about the young man who was swept off the rocks near Depoe Bay, and drowned. A few days earlier I saw something in the interview Vicki Presco had with Jon Detro, a freelance reporter for the Carmel Pine Cone. Vicki tells our sister had nightmares about a giant wave taking her life – most of her life. Jon then asks why she sat down with her back to the sea. There is no sane answer to that question. What we read is one lie after anothe. Since 1994, I have been having trouble believing my surviving sister’s account of how our famous sister drowned.

How Did Christine Rosamond Die?

Vicki said this to a reporter.

“Nothing about the ocean, that day, would indicate we were in danger.” “It was a full moon weekend with lots of tidal action. A friend told me that five other people were swept out to sea (from Califnornia North Coast) over the same period.”

Our niece, Drew Benton, was the seventh person swept into the sea that weekend. Vicki had told me how Christine would not let Drew get near a calm lake. Drew was ten feet from her mother when a wave took in this mother and child. Where was Vicki’s concern for her niece, who made it out alive.

About 1:00 A.M. I get up and delete many negative posts about my daughter who took Vicki and Mark Presco’s side, and called me “INSANE”.  I have not seen my grandson for four years, because this reporter asked SANE questions, too. Nancy knew Mark since she was twelve. She heard our late friend, Bill Arnold, talk about my brother, saying he was the Mortal Enemy of Art. Bill had a recurring nightmare about my mother and Mark chasing him in Rosemary’s Ford Anglia. Nancy would be shocked to know Mark orchestrated a covert take-over of Christine Rosamond’s Artistic Legacy. He blessed ‘The Art Forger’ Sandra Faulkner, and the disappearance of our sister’s autobiography wherein she gives accounts of the people who abused her.

These non-creative family members played God. They also disappeared the high tide and strong wind that add up to large waves crashing on the rocks. Here is my nephew, Vicki’s son, who took himself out of that bowl.

“Only 4 people were at the beach house. Me, mom, Christine, and
Drew. All four of us went for a walk. We started near the water
where there cliff ended(sand meeting water) and worked our way
back up the cliffs. I seperated from them early on after not
seeing any sea urchins etc (I was  hoping for tidal pool type
stuff) I went find lizards after running around  the cliffs for
about 15 minutes I gave up and went back to the house to read.
Only 3 people were in the bowl when christine was taken. Mom,
Drew and Christine. After going to the house , then a little
later, I think I  hear something (it’s windy so I think I’m hearing
something). Then I’m pretty sure I hear something so I get off
the couch and look out the door. The next  thing I saw were Mom
and Drew running up the hill  mom crying and saying to  call 911.
My whereabouts where in the guesthouse . You know exactly where I
was now. there not 4 people in the bowl.”

Christine came to live with Nancy and I at the ‘Idle Hands’ commune in San Francisco. She went on a date with Nick Sands, Nancy, and her lover, Stanley Augustus Owsley. The Zorthian sisters lived with us. Everyone commented on how beautiful we were, this Hippie Brother and Sister.

In 1987 I went for a reading at the Berkeley Psychic Institute. The first thing this young woman said to me, was;

“You own your own creation – you died!”

A hour later I got to ask questions. I asked where I was when I died?

“You were on these rocks by the ocean!”

Jon Presco

Here is the house at Rocky Point and entrance to channel where Vicki said Christine sat in with her back to the sea! What a fucking liar! I demand she take a lie-detector test!  No doubt Christine had eaten at the Rocky Point restrant, and knew this was not the place to bring your eight year old daughter to tide-pool! Would you?

DEPOE BAY, Ore. — A 26-year-old Georgia man was swept into the ocean Friday by a rogue wave and was presumed drowned.

Kelly Bennett Smith fell into the ocean at the Rocky Creek viewpoint just south of Depoe Bay sometime before noon while visiting the ocean for the first time. U.S. Coast Guard crews launched a helicopter and two boats to help in the search.

Depoe Bay firefighters aided the initial rescue, which has now turned into a recovery effort.

Oregon State Police said Smith was with five other friends. After he finished a job in Corvallis they stopped off at the coast before he was set to fly back home to Athens, Georgia. Smith and another friend climbed onto the rocks beyond the viewpoint to take photos when a wave swept Smith into the sea.

His friends called for help and tried to rescue Smith. He could be seen alive for about seven minutes before disappearing below the water. OSP said rescue crews also saw him several times.

OSP said the Coast Guard is still searching for Smith’s body.

What is so odd about the Odd Fellows? Back in January I posted this prophetic post. ‘The Literary Bohemian Crusade With Grail’.

When I read Kesey’s mural was going to appear on the Odd Fellows building, I knew several portals were opening. This morning, Zane Kesey posted pics of his fishing trip. He left Depoe Bay and went under an arch out to sea. He did not know the fishing trip from the movie ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ was filmed here. McMurphy introduces his odd crew of madmen, as Doctors. The Pranksters are born.

I wrote this post at a low point of my life, when I felt forsaken. But, this is how the story goes,  just when all seems lost, Perceval beholds the Grail.

At the end of my novel ‘The Gideon Computer’ Berkley Bill Bolagard is reunited with his book collection he thought he had lost. We had rare books in our home growing up thanks to my ancestors who conducted secret rituals non-members are not privy to, but, there I am, the Master Augur making a templum before a two-dimensional book-case.

The Pontifex Maximus is a ‘bridge builder’. Ken was a bridge builder to other dimensions. My Janke kindred built a theme park for the Oddfellows. Ken made a theme park in Springfield and Eugene – that spread all over the world! Consider Kesey Enterprises.

In 1987 I returned to McLure’s Beach and climbed the rock I fell on. I was utterly alone. There was no one in the parking lot, and thus no one for miles. I had gone thru the New Hope Program and had a year of sobriety. I had been in hypnotherapy. I had to do this.

I had not climbed but thirty feet, and was heading for the bridge, when I came upon a plaque nailed into the rock.

6 KNOWN DEATHS”

This plaque was not there in 1967, and the thought that six people who came after me, met their death, was otherworldly. I was entering The Land of the Known Dead. I thought about the collective grief of their families. Their tears had come here. I closed my eyes, took some deep breaths, told myself I can do this, and proceeded.

I do not think Keith and James knew I was going into shock, because they were in shock at seeing me wounded. The powerful dose was incapacitating. We could not walk. Like a heavy gravity we were pinned to the sand. We could only watch and wait until the inital impact subsided.

After James tried to wash my wound, and after I got soaking wet, I told him to leave me be. He went and sat with Keith about fifty feet away. I sat at the edge of the water listening to the strange sound that the gravel made as each wave receded. It sounded like many engines. All of a sudden landing craft were coming out of the ocean, and I was in the a middle of horrendous battle. A young man fell next to me, mortally wounded. When he died, and with his last breath, he uttered his last word;

Mother!”

I believe I was that soldier.

I watch that scene from Saving Private Ryan where the captain goes into a tunnel of silence. The engine of war is grating up and down my backbone. My teeth are chattering. I can not make it stop.

Are we going back to Rocky Point, or, am I going Koo-Koo……again?
