It’s about taking care of each other during the hardest time of the year,” she explains. Iris hosted the first Yule Fire, Feast and Ritual event two years ago at the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza. It all started with an Occupy Eugene party in 2013 that Iris and other activists brought down to the SLEEPS (Safe Legally Entitled Emergency Places to Sleep) camp based there at the time. It was a hit.

According to Eugene Police, 17 people were arrested, including one juvenile. The Eugene Police Department Thursday night released a list of those arrested:

Jacob Robert Keeton, 21, Eugene

Shantia Marie, Gambill, 27, Idaho

Gwendolyn Maeve Iris, 29, Springfield

Nicholas Joseph Ingram, 23, No address

Zachary Aaron Quale, 22, Eugene

Gwendonlyn Maeve Iris repeated the slander of SLEEPS activists on a how Kesey Square can be saved, after I posted an incident concerning my late friend Ed Fadely who confronted a group of homeless people who did nothing about a crazy guy that was throwing himself against a plateglass window trying to break it. Ed called the police. I asked Gwendolyn if she would have called the police. She had just banned me from her group, Save Ken Kesey Square. Here is what she said.

“He needs to just be banned. He has a history of cyber stalking and harrassing women both online and in person. I have been trying to ignore him but as you can see it is incredibly hard.

“How about you stop harassing and cyber stalking women, then you won’t have to worry about such threats. We get a little defensive when our safety is threatened.”

Here is Terra Williams, who was arrested with Gwendolyn;

“Gwen has done no such thing. You’re making up complete lies. Quit taking footage of her and Alley and other activists and obsessively writing about them on your blog and Facebook. Go your own separate way. Seriously mods, why hasn’t this guy been removed?”

https://rosamondpress.com/2016/02/18/witches-launch-thug-with-bag-of-rocks/

“This year, she decided to bring it back and host it at Kesey Square 5:30 to 8 pm Tuesday, Dec. 22 — the evening of the winter solstice. Iris says she chose the solstice because it’s not tied to any one organized religion.”

Gwendolyn Maeve Iris. Belle Burch, Alley Valkyrie, Ambrose, and John Monroe spoke to the City Council on January 27, 2014. Gwnedolyn Isis is a Wiccan, a Witch who conducted a Yule Log rituaul in Whoville, and, Ken Kesey Square! She is a member of SLEEPS. Are they a Coven? If so, this is why they went after me. They protect each other and their magic, such as it is. They don’t want Christians to know they are Wiccans, especially in regards to saving Ken Kesey Square. They want to control all the information. Any negative information will spoil their broth. Their Christian counterparts would do the same, then claim they are doing good for God’s homeless children. Helping the poor has always been the way for cults to get their flock. Consider Jim Jones. They murdered Congressman Jim Ryan for sticking his nose in Jonestown! Hmm! Whoville!

Here is my idea that I blogged on and posted on Gwendolyn’s FB ‘Save Ken Kesey Square’. Then I was fingered by one of her Harry Potter wanna-bes, and I was banned. No Free Speech for me, the enemy of her coven. Augurs are not Witches.

https://rosamondpress.com/2016/01/11/the-horses-mouth-and-readers-sanctuary/

Two weeks later I overcame the collective threats from SLEEPS and their friends, and presented my idea to the Mayor and City Council. I did not have an army behind, a activist group, or a coven. There was just – ME! Being just one citizen expressing their democratic rights, does not cut in anymore, because these covens will do much evil in order to control group forums, and public soap boxes.

Gwendolyn and her coven have abandoned the Homeless in their presentation to the people of Eugene, and the Government they elected. There is no mention of them. Why? Is it possible this is a ruse, a civic con job? Is Gwendolyn going to run for Mayor – then unleash her homeless hoard? Here she is blocking my view of Kitty Piercy. They put their bad medicine on Ken in order to transfer his power over to the coven. They brought me down, smeared my reputation, because I could have run for office.

Here is Witch Gwendolyn talking about the city trying to avoid a lawsuit by providing her coven a tiny soap box – after they took mine away for two years! This is CONSPIRACY!

Gwendolyn Iris, who has been active in Occupy Eugene and with homeless rights group SLEEPS, walked by the area, which lies between Oak and Pearl downtown, after she had heard rumors of a “Free Speech Parking Lot.” Iris says, “I think it is a complete joke and believe that people within the county government are trying to dodge a lawsuit by providing this temporary free speech zone.”

Their Fire Log  group has been closed because they know this reporter is hot on their cyber-trail. This story of Sleeping Beauty – has written itself. It is awake – and alive! The coven freaked when they read my blog on Belle’s parents operating a Labyrinth. They shrieked at her, asking why they didn’t tell them. They even asked my innocent video of meeting Belle, be removed. Wiccans have been after a real Labyrinth ritual – forever! This is why Belle’s parents shut theirs down – especially after they performed the ‘Descent of Inanna’ – into the UNDERWOTLD! They thought I had some good stuff they could pilfer. Then…………………..they struck the Mother Wiccan Load! Belle – is the anointed one!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inanna

“Inanna’s reason for visiting the underworld is unclear. The reason she gives to the gatekeeper of the underworld is that she wants to attend the funeral rites of Ereshkigal‘s husband, here said to be Gud-gal-ana. Gugalana was the Bull of Heaven in The Epic of Gilgamesh, which was killed by Gilgamesh and Enkidu.”

After getting to speak their peace to the Council, that was not good enough. They harassed Jon Ruiz by invading his office. SLEEPS attorney, Jean Stacey, demanded the city of Eugene build the homeless 1,250 shelters. If anyone but them wants to build anything, they are going to harass you with witchy group screech-ins! These Witches use the hapless homeless to spread their covert agenda. What choice do they have?

“Looky here my prettys. Granny brought you a big pot of stew! Hahahahahahaha! Now get up you lazy bastards – and get your ass to that council meeting!”

“Historically, even blood enemies put down their swords and welcomed each other into their halls to celebrate, declaring their peaceful intentions unto each other beneath the mistlestoe,” Iris writes on the Facebook event page.”

I wasn’t invited, and I am their blood enemy – that is impervious to their evil spells! What puzzled me was why Belle did not respond to videos and photos that showed I was a member of OCCUPY. I now believe SLEEPS broke off from OCCRPY because they are Wiccans and Warlocks. Why didn’t they invite me to join them. Because, they read my Biblical blogs – before I met with Belle and the Wandering Goat. This is why they conspired to get my secular Kesey information from my blog! Here is Belle working her spell on me. In one video I repeat what I am telling many OCCUPY people;

“You should OCCUPY the Post Office!”

Instead, they ended up in Whoville!

“I’d like to hear more of your personal life story. “When I got sober”, “When I was homeless”, “When I was fighting cancer”……. these are words you drop and then let flit by without much detail or explanation or storytelling. I want those details and stories. Please.

Tell me what you thought of my poem. Did it make you feel anything? Did it make you think? If so, what?”

I intend to bring the warmth of the sacred Yule fire to those who need it most, and share in food ….. Gwendolyn Maeve, you pulled off a truly beautiful gathering!

“Greg, Please delete your posts about Belle Burch from your FB page, your blog, and delete your videos of her from YouTube and wherever else you have posted them. To my knowledge she has not expressed any interest in you – in fact she has a wonderful boyfriend – and your public musings show no sensitivity to either one of them and border on harassment.”

“I wish to bring the fire, the feast and the hall to the street, to the public square where we can celebrate together, a holiday that, to me, means coming together,” Iris writes.

Yule fire is all about the hearth, Gwendolyn Iris says.

Iris, also an artist, decided she wanted to make it an annual family-friendly event for Eugene’s housed and unhoused alike, but in 2014 the father of her two children passed, so she put it on hold for the season. This year, she decided to bring it back and host it at Kesey Square 5:30 to 8 pm Tuesday, Dec. 22 — the evening of the winter solstice. Iris says she chose the solstice because it’s not tied to any one organized religion.

“It’s the time of year when the sun begins to return,” she says — something all Eugeneans can celebrate. For Iris, Yule also represents interdependence and community.

“Historically, even blood enemies put down their swords and welcomed each other into their halls to celebrate, declaring their peaceful intentions unto each other beneath the mistlestoe,” Iris writes on the Facebook event page.

And the move to Kesey Square is no accident — she wants to save the public space from development, i.e., the recent proposal from local developers to privately purchase the square and build an apartment building in its place, a plan the city is considering.

“The housing they are proposing isn’t what this city needs,” she says, adding that with the poverty in Eugene, what the city needs is more low-income housing, but not on the square.

She also started the community group Save Kesey Square on Facebook, which now has just shy of 300 followers. “I think [the city of Eugene’s] excuse is that no one uses it,” Iris says of the square downtown. “So let’s use it.”

i want to share with you The Celtic Rede
it is a wee different than the Wiccan Rede and actually the Wiccan Rede was taken from this one !

She also wanted the event to be accessible to all in a space that belonged to everyone. Iris says she will be making huge pots of soup and volunteers will bring additional food for a potluck. There will be a small Yule fire-lighting ritual, live music and a Yule tree.

“There will be a crafting area with popcorn and cranberries,” she says, for making garlands. Iris says there will also be materials from MECCA (Materials Exchange Center for Community Arts) to make ornaments. “I’d really love to see people bring their kids.”

Iris says she requests that people bring their own candles for the ritual.

“I wish to bring the fire, the feast and the hall to the street, to the public square where we can celebrate together, a holiday that, to me, means coming together,” Iris writes.

Meanwhile, about 45 people attended the Save Kesey Square group meeting Sunday evening, Nov. 29, hosted at Cozmic.

“I wanted to see a coming together around it,” says Gwendolyn Iris, one of the meeting’s organizers. Iris says she wanted to get a group organized before the city’s “Downtown Solutions Forum” Dec. 2 at the Lane Community College downtown campus.

If you wanted to exercise your right to free speech this week on Lane County property then you would have found that the Free Speech Plaza was shut down. No problem. The county provided a 71-by-73-foot square in a gravel parking lot off 6th Avenue for free speech use from 6 am to 11 pm from Sept. 6 to 10.

The area was denoted by white lines in the gravel, barricades and a notice from Acting County Administrator Alicia Hays that read, “Any speech activity taking place in the Temporary Free Speech Area shall be contained within the designated 71’ by 73’ painted area.” The county did not send out a press release letting people know about the alternative area. Lane County used a surveyor’s measuring wheel to measure off a spot that spokesperson Anne Marie Levis says is the dimensions of the county’s “actual free speech area.”

The county set up the space after it shut down the Wayne Morse Terrace and what has been called the Free Speech Plaza by the public and in county documents. It cited health and safety concerns in regard to the SLEEPS homeless protest camp in the area in front of the county building. The County Commission voted 4-1 with Commissioner Pete Sorenson voting against shutting down the area. Sorenson says, “I think the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza should be open to free press, free speech, free exercise and free assembly. These are important constitutionally protected rights and should not be discarded because some in the community disagree with the content to the speech being advocated.”

The last time the county shut down a SLEEPS protest in the free speech area a Municipal Court Judge ruled in favor of the protesters who argued the shutdown violated their constitutional rights.

Levis says the temporary location “was chosen for proximity to the current free speech area.”

A type of free speech area known as a free speech zone came under fire during the George W. Bush administration when small areas were set up for protesters far from the media and politicians. Bush was criticized for trying to keep dissent invisible.

  1. Reblogged this on Rosamond Press and commented:

After reciving death threats, I still stood up to SLEEPS and their allies. I kept them from taking over Ken Kesey Square – and downtown Eugene. We need to form the New Turners.
