At 10:48 AM on September 8th, I read these words. I was going to take the day off, but, my mind knows no holiday.
“We’re very fortunate in London and particularly in Lloyds that there is just this enormous ecosystem of underwriting experts, lawyers, and third-party independent advisors who just are all within five seconds wall,” said someone who knows the market well.
There is also speculation that some insurance may have links to Britain’s intelligence agencies, something that would give them an edge.
Smith downplays these rumours but says intelligence does still play an important role.
“There is obviously a significant amount of non-open source intelligence which is used by the underwriters and indeed brokers in order to assess the risks involved,” he says. “It’s mainly driven by commercial intelligence gathering companies and the contracts that exist within those with within those commercial companies and the London insurance community.
“There is clearly a very close interlinked intelligence network within the marine war insurance industry in London, which I don’t think exists anywhere else in the world.”
I patted myself on the back most of yesterday for taking the brave step of tying our President with Lloyd’s of London. Now, there is no ammount of praise for my

Victoria Bond looked down on the people in the lobby as she rode the escalator to the top floor of Lloyd’s where Clive de Rougemont had his office. His family were co-founders of Lloyd’s of London. She has never been to the headquarter of BAD. She had debriefed herself on the train ride. She felt she was prepared for what awaited her. What she was not prepared for was the oil of abeautiful woman that was hung above Clive’s desk. She went right to it, and did not see Mr. Rougemont’s outstretched hand.
“Who is this. She……looks like me!”
‘She should look like you. She is your great grandmother.”
Victoria felt a rush of blood to her head and neck. She has taken blow to her solar plexus. And now………….her third eye!

As oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz ground to a halt, Donald Trump turned his ire on Tehran.
“No matter what, the United States will ensure the FREE FLOW of ENERGY to the WORLD,” he wrote on Truth Social. “The United States’ ECONOMIC and MILITARY MIGHT is the GREATEST ON EARTH.”
But the president’s anger may also have been aimed at London, where decisions made this week in the “inside-out” building in the City of London have had just as powerful an effect on traffic through the crucial maritime route.
Insurers at Lloyd’s of London, the world’s largest insurance market, have this week ramped up the cost of coverage to such eye-watering prices that no one is willing to pay them.
Costs for vessels passing through the Strait have risen by two to five times for a typical tanker, in a move that could add up to $1m in premiums for each ship. Some insurers have pulled away from the market entirely.
It is this, as much as threats from the Iranians, that has brought shipments of oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) to a standstill.
In response, Trump on Tuesday vowed to provide rival insurance policies at a “very reasonable price”. The president has instructed the US Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to provide coverage. Trump has also promised gunboats for protection.
Details are so far thin on the ground but Mohit Kumar, an economist at Jefferies, said US coverage “could be a game changer”.
Trump’s insurance may be good news for shipping companies, and energy prices, but it is potentially bad news for Lloyd’s. The president’s offer could destabilise a key line of business at a time when the market is already under pressure from competition in Bermuda and the US.
“Shipping companies will always welcome measures that improve the safety and predictability of key global trade routes,” James Mills, the head of trade policy at Logistics UK, said of Trump’s rival offer.
Aaron Le Marquer, the head of insurance disputes at law firm Stewarts, added that the scheme “will certainly appear attractive to those operating in the region”.
Started out of a coffee shop in 1689, Lloyd’s of London has developed over centuries into a sophisticated marketplace for all types of insurance, ranging from coverage for oil tankers to protection against cyberattacks.
Lloyd’s itself is a marketplace covering 50 insurers that pool risks as part of syndicates and sell policies to customers through brokers, who operate out of the Lloyd’s of London headquarters.
Together, Lloyd’s insurers underwrite over £50bn worth of policies each year and control around 45pc of the so-called speciality insurance market, making it by the largest individual market for such policies in the world.
Speciality coverage includes the high-risk – but potentially lucrative – “war risk” market. Lloyd’s joint war committee has added Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar to its “war, piracy, terrorism and related perils” list in recent days, pushing up coverage costs for ships that dock in those countries.
Creating a US state-backed insurer to cover war risk at a lower price poses a significant threat to that market.
Above all, Trump’s plan come at a time when increasingly sophisticated rivals are already eating into Lloyd’s business.
Growth in London’s insurance market has lagged behind rivals over the past five years following a sharp slowdown during the pandemic. By contrast, growth in both the US and Bermudan markets has increased significantly over the same period of time.
It has seen America’s insurance industry overtake London as the world’s most valuable market, including in the speciality areas which Lloyd’s of London has historically dominated.
At the very least, Trump threatens to divert further business away from London.
It comes as Lloyd’s is preoccupied with a scandal involving its former boss John Neal, who in November lost a job at one of America’s top insurance companies over claims he had an affair with a colleague. In May, Lloyd’s launched an investigation into claims Neal had a relationship with Rebekah Clement, a PR executive at the company, and gave her preferential treatment, including by unfairly promoting her.
Those close to the market argue that it’s not as simple as Trump undercutting its business, however. Centuries’ worth of experience give Lloyd’s a formidable edge in a market where intelligence is everything.
“Most roads still lead to London. London’s leading position in war insurance is a very long-standing historical position,” says David Smith, head of marine insurance at London broker McGill & Partners.
In particular, the high levels of expertise, deep pools of capital and unrivalled access to top tier talent have given the London market an edge.

Meanwhile, crucial details of Trump’s scheme remain unclear, including whether the US-backed policies will be available to ships linked to America’s geopolitical rivals, like China.
Then there is the question of how long coverage will be offered.
“The insurance backstops would not only have to be competitive but also sustainable to threaten London’s position as a hub,” said Gonzalo Erausquin, a research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, a security think tank.
He added it was “unlikely” Trump’s plans would topple the London market.
Experts warn there are also considerable challenges to setting up such a scheme, with some suggesting the Trump administration could even be forced to work with Lloyd’s of London to set it up, including by hedging any risks with reinsurance policies.
At the same time ministers in Britain are exploring their own plans. Patrick Tiernan, the chief executive of Lloyd’s of London, met Lucy Rigby, the City minister, in an emergency meeting on Wednesday to discuss the impact of the war in the Middle East.
“There’s a healthy level of scepticism around the practicalities of how it could be applied,” Smith says of Trump’s scheme. “We’re advising all our clients that for the time being, do not make any plans on the basis that this is going to come into effect.”

Victoria went back to reading Mr. John’s Royal Rosamond Press. She was considering communicating with Elizabeth Neumann about her wife possibly being a Christian Fanatic. Her uniform suggested she might be a Christian Nazi. She appears to have gathered a tribe around her, a group of computer experts that are making drones that look like angels. The Holy Drone Club they call themselves. Victoria was considering hiring Elizabeth. She needed someone more down to earth. There definitely was a vortex in Eugene. A study of past and present Mayors was sorely needed. The idea that Starfish would put her Nazi-like hat in the ring, was……disturbing. Then there is the offer the former president made. He’s asking for a billion bucks from big oil with the promise he would destroy the ecology of the earth, In the old days the Oregon Tree Huggers would be going ape-shit. What happened?

The modern conception of Muscular Judaism was born into existence through the words of Max Nordau in a 1898 speech to the Second Zionist Congress. In his speech, Nordau urged the creation of the “new Jew,” a Renaissance man with a refined mind, body, and spirit capable of leading the Jewish people out of diaspora and distress. Sports organizations like Maccabi and Hapoel were created with Muscular Judaism in mind, still around today in varying capacities. Israeli youth groups like Maccabi Hatzair and Beitar were also founded with a heavy emphasis on Muscular Judaism, both still in existence. In the diaspora, the B’nai Brith Youth Organization gained prominence mainly through its basketball and debate competitions. Even today, many diaspora Jews live a few minutes drive from a JCC, typically complete with a basketball gym, a weight room, and sometimes swimming pools.
Tzadik (Hebrew: צַדִּיק ṣaddīq [tsaˈdik], “righteous [one]”; also zadik or sadiq; pl. tzadikim [tsadiˈkim] צדיקים ṣadīqīm) is a title in Judaism given to people considered righteous, such as biblical figures and later spiritual masters. The root of the word ṣadiq, is ṣ–d–q (צדק tsedek), which means “justice” or “righteousness“.[1] When applied to a righteous woman, the term is inflected as tzadika/tzaddikot.
Tzadik is also the root of the word tzedakah (‘charity’, literally ‘righteousness’). Also on the ballot: Shanaè Joyce-Stringer, a newcomer to politics and Eugene. She said voters are looking for a change.
“They’re tired of the status quo, or they’re tired of feeling, ‘Oh, governance is only for a certain group, or for a certain community, or if you’re only tied to certain individuals,” she said. “I’m an everyday Eugenian. I truly reflect the people in this community.”
Joyce-Stringer is a long-time educator who moved to Oregon during the pandemic. She’s worked at Eugene 4J School District, Lane Education Services District and owns a life-coaching business.

Knudson said the city should explore innovative ideas like turning under-used spaces, especially parking lots, into housing.

No Country For Old Beatniks

It’s not everyday you get to see a black man get on stage at a memorial, and begin his memorable tale by ragging on Walt Disney’s ass. And he’s the President of the NAACP in Lane County!!!!
“This is too good to be true! I must give my magic camera a name. How about ‘The Mighty Jinn? Only in Eugene!”
In my defense of the Alleybelle Incident, I suggested I owned a magic camera that made atutomatic movies wherever I pointed it. The Mighty Jinn shot the opening of my Beatnik Movie! It was all I could do to not stand up, and say;
“Why are you campaigning for Trump? Fifty million Americans love Walt Disney. Think ‘Swing Voters! Who cares if you got the goods on Walt?”
Eric Richardson then gave us his Racial Resumé, why he should wear Kenny’s Crown. I wanted to shout’
“The King is dead! Long live the King!”
But I looked at Marilyn. She was drained. Her battery was on red. When I came to the stage before Eric got on his soap box, I heard;
“Oh no! What now?”

Eric had his base in hand, and said he was going to play a tune that has no name. I had to suggest one.

I want this on the ballot, because, this is part of the huge culture warfare going on – that is destroying America! I want to get on stage – and debate Eric Richardson! I want to challenge his claims. He has gotten away with using Music as a secret political weapon, in a very sneaky way. I will write the heads of the NAACP. Music is the universal glue that brings people together, and creates lasting bonds. I heard speakers at the Jazz Station attest to this.

I just woke up from my Old Man Nap – with another epiphany! We all need to be more generous and make concessions in our forever arguments. At the Jazz Station I sat next to a woman who used to take her young sons to Jazz and Poetry at the Granary. Her son has just memorialized the generosity of Kenny Reed who took the time to teach. I asked her if she remembered Jason (the owner) passing out paper and Crayola for the kids – and all. She said she did remember. I asked her if this would be something she would like to see again.
“Yes!”
I talked to an editor at KVAL about coming to the Jazz Station and doing a report on Kenny. He said their reporter was committed to the lighting of Christmas Tree lights. We talked for about fifteen minutes. He asked me to send him some pics and a report. He said they do not do memorials, because many will ask why they don’t get one.
Eric! Let’s work on a happy and magical news report. Let’s be generous to the children, who can’t vote, or, comprehend why Walt is the Emperor of White Devils. Disney was born on December 5th. the time cities turn on their Saint Nick lights. Here are the names that came to me – in a dream!
Tinkerbelle Lane. Mermaid Way. Cinderella Street.
I see children of all races in costume. I see a parade down Tinkerbelle Lane. I see lights and magic! I see Disney helping with the funding. I see you and I holding shovels and breaking ground. I see trollies bringing UofO students along the river to………………….?

The Royal Janitor has morphed into a Tinkerbelle like cartoon – for adults! I am incorporating Tolkien, Harry Potter, James Bond, and the Hippie Movement to make a truly Magical Book and Movie. Some people have compared me to Walt Disney. I have plans in the wing to create a Creative Hollywood Dynastic Cosmology around my kindred, Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, and, the Getty family who are sick of how they are depicted in movies. Liz has gotten bad press. What the world needs is a Secular Union of Creative People who will be more than Goodwill Ambassadors. We need to take our people off the two-dimensional silver-screen and have them walk about the earth, altering it in beautiful and constructive ways.

Trump is Bad Disney, who hates the earth and is backed by co-terrorist who pray for the Great Tribulation and Rapture, that will not happen as John Darby described. Something like the Rapture will occur at the end of my movie. I call it ‘The Gathering’ that is based upon scientific solutions to establish God’s Kingdom here on earth without a billion people, and millions of children, perishing via a hideous death. Why?
Jim Carry is rendering cartoons to counter the one facebook is still finding, drawn by fake Trolls in Russia. The Royal Janitor aims to help destroy Russian Trolls, and attract Russians that being harassed and oppressed by the Dark Putin. Tolkien’s character should be employed to this end, also.
Tolkien went to see Disney’s Snow White, and had trouble with the illustration. The work of Eyvind Earle, hung in the Rosamond Gallery in Carmel. I suggest my kin, Elizabeth Rosemond be employed as a figure head in the New Renaissance I see on the horizon. Snow White Looks like Liz when she was young.

Tolkien, notes Atlas Obscura, “found Snow White lovely, but otherwise wasn’t pleased with the dwarves. To both Tolkien and Lewis, it seemed, Disney’s dwarves were a gross oversimplification of a concept they held as precious”—the concept, that is, of fairy stories. Some might brush away their opinions as two Oxford dons gazing down their noses at American mass entertainment. As Tolkien scholar Trish Lambert puts it, “I think it grated on them that he [Disney] was commercializing something that they considered almost sacrosanct.”
“Indeed,” writes Steven D. Greydanus at the National Catholic Register, “it would be impossible to imagine” these two authors “being anything but appalled by Disney’s silly dwarfs, with their slapstick humor, nursery-moniker names, and singsong musical numbers.” One might counter that Tolkien’s dwarves (as he insists on pluralizing the word), also have funny names (derived, however, from Old Norse) and also break into song. But he takes pains to separate his dwarves from the common run of children’s story dwarfs.
Tolkien would later express his reverence for fairy tales in a scholarly 1947 essay titled “On Fairy Stories,” in which he attempts to define the genre, parsing its differences from other types of marvelous fiction, and writing with awe, “the realm of fairy story is wide and deep and high.” These are stories to be taken seriously, not dumbed-down and infantilized as he believed they had been. “The association of children and fairy-stories,” he writes, “is an accident of our domestic history.”
Tolkien wrote The Hobbit for young people, but he did not write it as a “children’s book.” Nothing in the book panders, not the language, nor the complex characterization, nor the grown-up themes. This explication of Tolkien’s dislike for Disney goes beyond mere gossip to an important practical upshot: Tolkien would not allow any of his works to be given the Walt Disney treatment. While his publisher approached the studios about a Lord of the Rings adaptation (they were turned down at the time), most scholars think this happened without the author’s knowledge, which seems a safe assumption to say the least.
Tolkien’s long history of expressing negative opinions about Disney led to his later forbidding, “as long as it was possible,” any of his works to be produced “by the Disney studios (for all whose works I have a heartfelt loathing).” Astute readers of Tolkien know his serious intent in even the most comic of his characters and situations. Or as Vintage News’ Martin Chalakoski writes, “there is not a speck of Disney in any of those pages.”

Being an A+ student born and raised in Nebraska, this bright and beautiful being had to believe in some of the propaganda-history that was dished out to her in High School. Rena had to have seen herself as the Beautiful Cattle Queen, who like Wonder Woman, was destined to protect the ‘Cattle Producers’ of Nebraska. This protection was aimed at me in her long letter she sent me two years ago. After she looked at my blog, she wrote;
“I see you are quite left-leaning. Please do not, in your urban world, be too hard on cattle producers. or, red-neck women. We are human too.”
In order to prove I was human too, and my world is not that urban, I took my ninety year old neighbor to Cowboy Church. I posted pictures of us on the blog in hope Rena would see them. The old wrinkly woman’s son, a serious Rush Limbaugh Freak, called me, and ordered me to take that blog down, which I did, because he is way too serious. This was the first shot fired in the Cultural Wafare that is sweeping the land. What side are you on? There is no compromise, no middle ground.
