With over 80 different sensor types (and counting), there is a monitoring solution for virtually any business.
On Facebook yesterday, I suggested censors be put in areas where clouds can release a trillion gallon of water in several hours.
When I went to bed on the 3rd. our local news in Eugene Oregon showed a huge area over Texas that was dark red and purple. The reporter said there could be a trillion gallons in those clouds. I went to bed assured top officials are going to be – ON IT! What I did not take into account, was THE TIME DIFFERENCE. It was two hours LATER in Texas. It’s 1:30 AM. Did the Texas weather officials seen this news? Had they gone to bed? You would think at least one person would stay awake – and watch! But, it’s dark. Can a drone fly in a downpour?
Even when I drove I checked AccuWeather for those Downpour Clouds that roll in from the Pacific, and DUMP. You can feel the cold downdraft. I use a walker to go to the Gateway Mall and shop. There is a large parking lot with big, deep, drain ditches, to get the water off the parking surface. You don’t want to be down in one.
If I was a camp councilor who caught the report, I might drive up river and put some censors there – at different levels so you know how fast the water is rising.

“A lot of the same areas that will be the target of thunderstorms these days could use the rain. Most locations are experiencing severe, extreme or even exceptional drought conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. With how dry it’s been, however, too much rain could more easily lead to flash flooding,” AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Courtney Travis said.
Prevent Water Damage by Sensing Leaks Before They’re a Problem.
Mitigate water leakage the moment it’s discovered with real-time alerts from Monnit.
Does your property management plan hold water?
It’s 3 a.m. on a cold, wintry night and your facilities manager is fast asleep. They’re missing the frozen pipe that just burst at your offices, forcing water to rise quickly on the main floor—tens of thousands in water damage and significant lost time spent managing the cleanup and restoration.
Luckily, you don’t have to experience this nightmare in real life. Since you installed Monnit Wireless Water Detection Sensors in strategic locations throughout your building, there’s no need to worry about water damage because they act as the best remote flood sensors. Now, you and facility management can sleep soundly, knowing Monnit’s remote flood alarms will alert you via text, email, or call of the slightest leak.
How does a water leak detector work?
A water leak detector or a sensor detects water by completing the circuit between two wires at the end of a lead or between two probe points. When the detection state changes, a water sensor will immediately turn on the radio and send data to a wireless gateway. The gateway forwards the sensor data to a monitoring app on a mobile device or desktop application. Then the app or cloud software instantly sends an alert via a text, email, or call. Users can set water sensors to detect and alert about both the presence and absence of water.
