‘Time of illusions’ on European defence is over, says EU chief

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen bid for support for her ambition to rearm Europe in an address to EU lawmakers on Tuesday.
“After the end of the Cold War, some believed that Russia could be integrated in Europe’s economic and security architecture. Others hoped that we could rely indefinitely on America’s full protection,” von der Leyen said in the French city of Strasbourg.
“The time of illusions is over now,” she said.
“Europe is called to take greater charge of its own defence, not in some distant future, but already today, not with incremental steps, but with the courage that the situation requires. We need a surge in European defence, and we need it now.”
European Union leaders last week endorsed plans by the European Commission aiming to mobilize staggering amounts for defence investment.
Von der Leyen hopes that a new €150 billion ($163.5 billion) fund paired with temporarily exempting certain defence investments from the bloc’s strict debt and deficit limits and other measures could raise up to €800 billion.
The commission president will need the backing of EU lawmakers for some parts of her plans once the legislative proposals are being scrutinized.
Von der Leyen stressed the investments’ “positive spillovers” for the EU’s economy and competitiveness in her speech.
“It will include new factories and production lines that will be necessary, creating good jobs right here in Europe,” she said, adding that the positive effects will be felt beyond the defence sector.
“Together, we have the size to deter any hostile country. We have
the economic power. And now, finally, we have the political will, too,” von der Leyen stated.
Witherspoons In California
Posted on July 25, 2024 by Royal Rosamond Press

Dottie Wetherspoon and I had spiritual work to do when we came to California. we couldn’t find it. It was behind this……Great Gate!
The Witherspoon and Rosamond families are Patriots who lived in South Carolina whre Dottie and I went to the Meher Baba retreat. Kittie Davies recited her illustrious ancestors as we sat in the car.
“Why didn’t yu tell me who you are?”
“Well!……Who in the hell are you!”
Dottie and my kin got married at Ralston Hall that was built around the portable home Carl Janke brought around the Cape in 1848. He might have wanted to found a colony in California. That no plaque was put on the Bay tree to commemorate he and his wife pioneering contribution to California History – is huge. I was discussed at the Belmont Historical Society by Doris Vannier, Denny Lawhern, and others.
On this day, July 25, 2024, God places – HIS SEAL – there….this day! His Gate…..opens wide! His Kingdon…is upon you! He, has prepared my way!

Hesketh was the son of Thomas Fermor-Hesketh, 1st Baron Hesketh, and Florence Louise Breckinridge, of Kentucky, daughter of John Witherspoon Breckinridge, and granddaughter of General (CSA) John C. Breckinridge, Vice-President of the United States of America and Secretary of War for the Confederate States of America, in 1909. He was educated from 1926 at Eton and later Magdalene College, Cambridge.[2]
Lord Hesketh at Belmont
Posted on April 6, 2021 by Royal Rosamond Press

I had plans for my daughter that her mother and aunt undermined in every CONCIEVABLE way. I discovered Lord Hesketh named his yacht after the Lancashire Witches who were put on trial around the time my ancestor, Reverend John Wilson, and fellow Puritans were conducting Witch Trials. Lord Hesketh sailed his yacht into the Golden Gate in order to marry Florence Emily Sharon, the daughter of William Sharon, who became the President of Bank of America, after William Ralston ‘The Man Who Built San Francisco’ died. I believe Ralston Hall is one of the six portable houses brought from the East Coast by my great grandfather, Carl Janke the co-founder of Belmont. The Hesketh sisters are suitable mates for royals. Prince Georg Friedrich was eyeing them. With my claim to palaces once owned by the Schwarzenberg family, I see a Prussian Kingdom in the West – especially now the neo-Confederate Insurectionists are rigging the way we vote in a Democracy. With the backing of large corporations, we are looking at the formation of feudal dynastic companies who are willing to thwart the rise of Evangelicalville and their Fake King David. The Astors are still in the mix. My kin, Senator Thomas Hart Benton was John Astor’s attorney. John was German.
If California, Oregon, and Washington, become the New Bohemian German State, then the return of the castles would be desirable, and help create a Economic Powerhouse that will compete with China and Russia, while the squalid Confederate Nobodies For Jesus and Ignorance, further digress into hateful savages.

John Witherspoon “Owen” Breckinridge (December 22, 1850 – May 9, 1892) was an American lawyer and politician who served in the California State Assembly.
Early life
[edit]
Breckinridge was born on December 22, 1850, in Lexington, Kentucky, in the prominent Breckinridge family.[1] He was the fourth child of John Cabell Breckinridge (1821–1875), who served as Vice-President of the United States under James Buchanan, and Mary Cyrene (née Burch) Breckinridge (1826–1907). Among his siblings were Joseph Cabell Breckinridge, Clifton Rodes Breckinridge,[2] Frances Viley (née Breckenridge) Steele, and Mary Desha (née Breckinridge) Maltby.[3] He was named after his great-great-grandfather, John Witherspoon, who signed the Declaration of Independence.[3]
Known as “Owen” in appreciation of the heavy vote his father received in Owen County,[4] he attended Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.[5]
Career
[edit]
Around 1877, Breckinridge moved to California eventually settling in Merced in the northern San Joaquin Valley section of the Central Valley.[6] Breckinridge was a member of California State Assembly from 1884 to 1885.[7] He also served as District Attorney of Merced County, California, until his death in 1892. In his obituary, it was said:[7]
“Mr. Breckinridge was one of the most talented men in California gifted with all that goes to make up a brilliant lawyer and gentleman. Although still a young man, he had climbed high in his profession and was known in many cities and towns of California as a lawyer of unquestioned ability and of unquestioned integrity in business matters.”[8]
Personal life
[edit]
In 1877, Breckinridge was married to Florence Louise Tevis, a daughter of Lloyd Tevis, the President of Wells Fargo Bank. Together, they were the parents of:
- Lloyd Tevis Breckinridge (1878–1901), who attended Harvard and later killed himself at the family home in San Francisco, where he lived with his grandmother and uncle, Dr. Harry Tevis.[9][10]
- John Cabell Breckinridge Sr. (1879–1914), who married Adelaide Murphy, a daughter of Samuel Green Murphy, president of the First National Bank of San Francisco, in 1902.[11][12] He later became ill and was confined to a mental asylum outside of Paris.[13]
- Florence Louise Breckinridge (1881–1956), who married Thomas Fermor-Hesketh, 1st Baron Hesketh.[14][15]
Owen and Louise divorced and she remarried to Frederick William Sharon (a son of U.S. Senator William Sharon)[16] in 1883 with whom she had four more children. Owen remarried to Harriett Dudley.[3]
Breckinridge died on May 9, 1892, in Merced, California.[1]
Descendants
[edit]
Through his son John, he was posthumously a grandfather of John Cabell “Bunny” Breckinridge Jr. (1903–1996), an actor and drag queen best known for his role as “The Ruler” in Ed Wood‘s film Plan 9 from Outer Space.[17]
Through his daughter Florence, he was the grandfather of Frederick Fermor-Hesketh, 2nd Baron Hesketh (1916–1955), the British peer and soldier.[14]

I just sent this message to Ursula van der Leyen the head of the European Commission:
“My ancestors are a Gold Rush family who came to California in 1849 from Hamburg, and the island of Heligoland. They brought six portable homes around the Cape and erected them in Belmont California that is near Stanford University where Commissioner von der Leyen attended college. I have found evidence of prejudice against Germans in Belmont. The graves of Cark Janke and his wife were dug up in the middle the night, and moved to another city. Janke Street was changed. The study of my family in Belmont has been oppressed. I am kin to Ian Fleming and am authoring a Bond novel, starring Victoria Rosemond Bond. I find Erdogan’s treatment of women, appalling. Here is “Rose Ladson”. Here is my Heir! Ursula fits most of the visions I have been having. My Prussian Teutonic Knights stand behind her. She is the woman in my painting whom I gave the name ‘Rose of the World’.
“While studying in London in 1978, she used the pseudonym “Rose Ladson“, because she was seen as a potential target for West German left-wing terrorism.[ “Röschen“

I was going to send an e-mail to a woman at the San Mateo Historical Society, but then found this article on the monument Germany is considering of an American Veteran, Carl Schurz. I was going to point out the remains of my Janke grandparents being dug up and moved to the Union Cemetery in the middle of the night. If I had received anything that resembled a civil greeting from any member of Belmont Historical Society, I might have visited the Union Cemetery this very day – that Nikki Haley called our VP “unprofessional and unfit” . I suspect I was snubbed by the BHS because I posted some Oakland History of Kamala Harris. Politics makes up a huge chunk of our history. I just posted on my Patriot Rosamond Family who owned slaves in South Carolina where Haley got votes. I wrote Ursula von der Leyen about this matter – which is a huge world concern – and can not be constricted by teeny tiny prejudiced members of the BHS.I am done with the Lilliputians!
I believe that is a image of William Janke taken in Twin Pines Park. His daughter, Augustus Janke, married William Stuttmeister. He moved our family to Cypress Lawn after our graves were dug up and evicted from the Odd Fellows cemetery. That is the Stuttmeister monument in Berlin with a replica of a famous statue of Jesus.

Stanford Coming to Belmont?
Posted on May 21, 2023 by Royal Rosamond Press
Did you know Ursula von der Layen attended Stanford University and born her children while getting a degree? Stanford is looking at buying the Norte Dame de Namur in Belmont where I was snubbed and ridiculed by the Historic Society after I showed them proof I am descended from Carl Janke who brought six portable houses around the Cape in 1848. These are Prussians, who offered by purchase California for seven million dollars. My kin may have been agents for this purchase – that was nixed when gold was discovered. In 2021 I suggested a School of Espionage move in to Namur. Yesterday in search of historians at Stanford – I find you! You, Ms. Zegart – are up! If you are drinking coffee right now, put that cup down, and look around at the way your reality – used to be! You have passed between the Two Pine Trees of Belmont, and the bronze doors to the Janke-Stuttmeister crypt in Colma. Carl Janke and his wife were dug up from their graves in the middle of the night, and ended up in the Union graveyard in Redwood City. If Dr. Stuttmeister knew where they were, he would have interred them in our crypt, where he put Carl’s bloodline – after they were evicted from the Oddfellow’s cemetery! I am claiming Twn Pines Park, because in looking at you – and all of this intrigue – I saw The Light shining through. The Truth came in between the two trees, and falling upon my beloved ancestors.
In 2018, after discovering I am kin to Ian Fleming, via Liz Taylor, I began my own Bond novel ‘The Royal Janitor. I researched what spies do. They look at a lot of data, and analyze it. In your book, you attest to this, and then say spy novels, and fake spies, ruin the real work.. I had the stars of my Bond book become lovers, and then get married after seeing a video of Putin’s Cossacks whipping members of Pussy Riot. I knew I was throwing away an opportunity to have a pay day, but I am driven to do the right thing. I suspect you are too.
I suggest you approach the President of Sandford and ask for the funds to conduct a investigation – that will include us meeting in Belmont to look for evidence I am the rightful Heir of Twin Pines Park. I believe we are destined to author a book, or two. I see your husband is a screenwriter. I suggest you both take good notes. I was poised to send Vice President Kamala Harris the second part of my message – that will now include this e-mail. When I mentioned her to the Belmont Historic Society in March of 2021, there was a conspiracy to get rid of me – and take my infraction for another book. I have sent messages to the Mayor of Belmont and the City Council. I am feared!
I believe you are Victoria Rosemond Bond, and I am Miriam Starfish Christling, Here they are having breakfast. Carl Janke founded a German Theme Park that may be the first in California. Walt Disney was inspired by Fairyland in Oakland. Putin and Patriarch Kirill invaded Ukraine to do harm to the LGBTQ folks. Consider Governor DeSantis – doing the same! Zelenskyy is in Japan at the G-7. as I type.
Your destiny awaits you. This e-mil will self-destruct. You made the cover of my newspaper for the arts. Oh. I forgot. My Muse, Rena Easton inspired me to write a Bond novel because in a letter she said she committed a million poems to memory. She had two children by Admiral Ian Easton, head of the British Defense Staff Washington. Have you heard of this agency? I am the Union of The Fake and The Real – Spy! Your study – is flawed! Don’t worry. We can fixt it! Here is your chance to work – in the field!

For fans of spy movies and television shows, a visit to CIA headquarters will be disappointing. The visitor center looks nothing like the high-tech offices of Jason Bourne and Carrie Mathison. Instead, the entry to America’s best-known intelligence agency has more of a shabby post-office feel. There are teller windows with bulletproof glass, soda machines, and an old-fashioned black landline phone mounted on the back wall. Once cleared by security, visitors head back outside, where they can walk down a winding road or take the rambling shuttle bus to the old headquarters building. There, lobby security has no retina scanners or fancy fingerprint devices, just a few turnstiles and a friendly security guard who takes cellphones and hands out paper claim checks.

“This is not only a war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine,” she said. “This is a war on our energy, a war on our economy, a war on our values and a war on our future.”
“This is about autocracy against democracy. And I stand here with the conviction that with courage and solidarity, Putin will fail and Europe will prevail,” she added, referring to President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia.
She stopped for applause as a television camera panned and settled, in a tight frame, on a composed but emotional Olena Zelenska, Ukraine’s first lady who had traveled from her country’s capital, Kyiv, to Strasbourg, France as Ms. von der Leyen’s guest of honor.

Kamala and Starfish Are California Girls
Posted on March 19, 2021 by Royal Rosamond Press

Time to get serious and back up our State Department with some facts and the truth! For four years I have been running a FICTIONAL STATE DEPARTMENT after the Trumpire destroyed it – with the help of Evangelical Leaders. Rena Easton was a California Girl for fifty days. She married the head of the British Defence Staff Washington. Rena is the model for Victoria and Miriam. The Vice President of the United States was born in Oakland California, and thus is a ‘California Girl’. Miriam Starfish Christling was born near Redding California. She too is a California Girl. I will pick where today, as well as the hospital for Victoria Rosamond Bond, who is a British Subject that was raised in the College of Arms.

Welcome to
Stanford Belmont
Stanford University is excited to announce that, following extensive community engagement, it submitted an application in October 2022 to the City of Belmont for a Conceptual Development Plan (CDP) as part of an ongoing process to potentially purchase the Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) campus.

Stanford University is exploring the possibility of purchasing the Notre Dame de Namur University campus with a goal of continuing the property’s nearly 100-year history of academic use by creating a vision for a future Stanford campus in Belmont.
Stanford entered into an option to purchase agreement with NDNU in September 2021 to work toward Stanford’s purchase of the 46-acre campus. Following extensive community engagement starting in 2021, Stanford submitted an application to the City of Belmont for a Conceptual Development Plan for the NDNU campus property. The development plan includes a package of community benefits that was informed by discussions with local residents and stakeholders. This is an exciting first step in a comprehensive regulatory process led by the City to study Stanford’s high-level vision to redevelop the campus.

Our Vision
The Belmont campus and community present exciting opportunities for Stanford as it extends its educational mission and Long-Range Vision that includes more purposeful engagement with the region. The submitted plan would provide Stanford with the flexibility to reposition the campus in a way that supports new academic uses and greater community engagement. The CDP also includes elements that reflect the shared values of Stanford and the Belmont community:
- Continued use of the Belmont campus for academic purposes, furthering the tradition of higher education in the city.
- A campus design that welcomes community access to recreation and walking paths.
- A commitment to continue Stanford’s strong record in sustainable development and campus management – including sustainable buildings, operations, and transportation programs.
- Continuing the residential nature of the campus by providing a minimum of 50 housing units for Stanford affiliates, and up to 200, depending on programmatic needs.

Community Benefits
Stanford launched an extensive community outreach effort starting in 2021 with a key goal to understand how Belmont residents engage with the campus, and how they would like to further engage with it, should Stanford ultimately purchase the property. Based on community discussions and engagement with residents, city officials, school leaders, and community groups, four clear priorities emerged that shaped Stanford’s proposed community benefits package:
- Ralston Mansion – Stanford will invest in the restoration and preservation of Ralston Mansion, and will create opportunities for the community to again utilize the facility, which was closed in 2012.
- Koret Field – Koret Field will be available for use and/or rental by the community.
- Ralston corridor transportation improvements – During the first phase of new development, and in consultation with the City, Stanford will design and fund improvements to the Ralston Avenue/campus entrance intersection to improve existing congestion on Ralston Avenue. In addition, Stanford will commit to improving bicycle access to the train station along the Ralston corridor.
- Establish a Stanford Belmont Educational Initiative – Stanford will immediately begin a community process to identify and support mission-aligned initiatives and programs that champion and invest in innovative education, with an emphasis on Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade and the educational ecosystem.

Stanford submits initial plans for future Belmont campus
The application for a Conceptual Development Plan includes a package of community benefits that was informed by extensive outreach to local residents and other stakeholders.
BY JOEL BERMAN
Stanford University has submitted an application to the city of Belmont for a Conceptual Development Plan (CDP) for the Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) campus property. This follows the announcement in September 2021 that Stanford had entered into an option to purchase agreement with NDNU to work toward Stanford’s purchase of the 46-acre campus.

The application submittal is the first step in a comprehensive regulatory process led by the city to study Stanford’s high-level vision to redevelop the campus. The approval process will also include robust community engagement.
The development plan would provide Stanford with the flexibility to reposition the campus in a way that supports new academic uses and greater community engagement. It does not include specific plans for new or renovated facilities, but it sets specific conditions under which those plans can be submitted in the future.
“Establishing a Stanford Belmont campus presents exciting potential opportunities for our educational mission as we pursue the university’s Long-Range Vision that includes more purposeful engagement with the region,” said Provost Persis Drell. “As I walked around the campus, I was inspired by its beauty, history, and place in the community, and the many possibilities it holds for learning and community engagement.”
Stanford is also proposing a set of community benefits focused on restoring the historic Ralston Mansion, maintaining community use of Koret Field, improving transportation along the Ralston Avenue corridor, and establishing a local educational initiative.
In the cover letter for the CDP application, Steve Elliott, senior managing director for real estate development, emphasized the collaborative approach Stanford has taken in developing the CDP. “We have spent the last 12 months discovering, listening, and learning about Belmont and the opportunities this unique campus can provide for both Stanford and the community. Our application reflects what we have learned through this process and aims to balance what the city envisions for the property while providing the assurances and flexibility that would enable Stanford to make a long-term commitment to a new academic campus in Belmont.”
The property’s existing use as a residential academic campus was an important consideration for Stanford, as was its location on the peninsula in proximity to public transit and Stanford’s existing Palo Alto and Redwood City campuses.
Stanford’s long-term plans for the campus include 700,000 square feet of space for academic uses and housing related to campus use, an increase of 265,000 square feet over what the city of Belmont previously approved for the site. Redevelopment would occur over an anticipated 30-year period, with preservation of three legacy buildings – historic Ralston Mansion, Taube Center, and the Madison Art Center, known formerly as the mansion’s carriage house.
The CDP also includes other elements that reflect the shared values of Stanford and the Belmont community:
- Continued use of the Belmont campus for academic purposes, furthering the tradition of higher education in the city.
- A campus design that welcomes community access to recreation and walking paths.
- A commitment to continue Stanford’s strong record in sustainable development and campus management – including sustainable buildings, operations, and transportation programs.
- Continuing the residential nature of the campus by providing a minimum of 50 housing units for Stanford affiliates, and up to 200, depending on programmatic needs.
Community outreach and benefits
Stanford launched an extensive community outreach effort after signing the agreement with NDNU. A key goal of this effort was to understand how Belmont residents engage with the campus, and how they would like to further engage with it, should Stanford ultimately purchase the property.

About 150 people attended a series of initial virtual public meetings in March, where Stanford staff shared preliminary information about the university’s plans and led guided discussions in small breakout groups to receive feedback from participants. The university also launched a project website in advance of the public meetings that includes an engagement portal where residents can provide feedback on project materials.
After reflecting on the feedback received during the first round of public outreach and in many meetings with community stakeholders, Stanford convened two in-person open houses on the NDNU campus in June that were attended by more than 200 people. Topics covered at the open houses included the campus planning process, Stanford’s design approach, and the university’s sustainability and transportation programs.
Throughout the engagement with Belmont residents, city officials, school leaders, and community groups, four clear priorities emerged that shaped the community benefits package Stanford is now proposing:

U.S. Vice President JD Vance did not talk publicly about his cousin Nate’s service in Ukraine because he “didn’t want to endanger his life more than it already was,” he told Fox News on March 11.
Nate Vance, a former U.S. Marine, defended Ukraine from 2022 to January 2025 as a member of the Da Vinci Wolves First Motorized Battalion, a volunteer unit.
Nate Vance harshly criticized U.S. policy regarding Ukraine and condemned the behavior of his cousin and U.S. President Donald Trump during a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky on Feb. 28, after which U.S. leaders berated the Ukrainian president for not being “ready for peace” and supposed lack of gratitude.
“As far as his criticisms, I have no interest in arguing with him in public, but I do feel the need to address one issue in particular: his failed effort to contact me. I am unsure why Nate felt the need to reach out to my Senate office, rather than to his mom, dad, or sister, all of whom I am in contact with regularly,” JD Vance told Fox News.
The vice president added that he “always considered Nate the toughest guy (he) knew” and that he was “always happy to talk to him.”
Nate Vance volunteered to fight in Ukraine following Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, but left shortly before the U.S. presidential inauguration out of fear of being captured by the Russian army.
“It had become complicated to stay. I couldn’t take the risk of being captured,” he said.
JD Vance has repeatedly criticized Ukraine and Zelensky in the past, at times repeating Kremlin talking points.
