After posting on The New Carthage, I thought about Granada and the Alhambra. I turn on PBS and there we are, via a travel show. I read about the Alhambra Decree that forced Jews to convert to Catholicism – or else! Several days ago I saw a video of Andy Gitelson, Oregon Hillel’s Interim Executive Director SHAMING full American Citizens for making Jews feel UNSAFE. The graduating students from the University of Oregon were one year old when Semites remodeled our Trade Towers because we gambled and engaged in homosexuality. I want to debate Andy on campus, on why the majority of students FEEL UNSAFE due to the ongoing religious strife in The Land of the Semites, that is liken to the religious battles in Ireland. Now that I have identified the No.1 Enemy of ALL ABRAHAMIC RELGIONS, those who feel threatened by religious fanatics, can build a BARRIER OF PROTECTION! Three hundred million Americans now felt UNSAFE because Semites turned the Towers into a meat grinder, where many of the dead could not be recovered for burial. Why is any religion allowed to do this?
Andy Gitelson makes a highly specialized arguments for ten million highly exclusive Jews. If the Jews were all inclusive, like the Mormons, they would have way fewer problems’. Netanyahu announced the decision on X, formerly Twitter, but details on the implications of the step on the channel, when it would go into effect or whether the measure was permanent or temporary were not immediately clear.

The primary purpose was to eliminate the influence of practising Jews on Spain’s large formerly-Jewish converso New Christian population, to ensure the latter and their descendants did not revert to Judaism. The Israel Defense Forces said Sunday it is probing the approval process of a controlled explosion of a university campus in the Gaza Strip last week.
Footage widely shared on social media showed a massive blast at Israa University, prompting US President Joe Biden’s administration to ask Israel for clarification.
In response to a query on the matter, the IDF said “the collapse of the building and the approval process for the explosion are being investigated by the IDF.”

The Students for Justice in Palestine encampment is ongoing at the University of Oregon days after being condemned by Oregon Hillel.

Protestors accuse Israel of committing genocide in besieged Gaza, as the Hamas-run health ministry reports at least 35,560 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza and 77,765 injured.
Currently, Israel plans to launch a ground offensive against Hamas in Rafah, and U.N. aid agencies warn that this operation “could lead to a slaughter.”
Gitelson sent a message to the organization’s community this week criticizing the protests at UO and Oregon State University as students urge their schools to divest from Israel.
Following the establishment of the Students For Palestine encampment on Monday, Gitelson sent an email to Hillel’s community affirming the right to protest but also wrote: “No student should feel as though they must hide their full identity to experience our campus environment, nor should their basic safety ever be jeopardized.”
Gitelson says, “There are Jewish students that are involved in the encampment that for them, voicing their opinion and using of the phrases from the river to the sea or intifada, for them don’t have a personal meaning or don’t affect them in the same way that the vast majority of Jewish students on campus who do identify with Israel, some part of their Jewish identity, some very deeply, they’re Israelis on campus and others… Israel is just a part of who they are and how they connect to their Jewish community.”
Student group Jewish Voice For Peace is one of the camp’s supporters.
Camp Liasion, Cedar Deodora says, “Our camp has always been a peaceful space that’s been inclusive to everyone, and we don’t have a specific response to their email, but our stance is very much that we are not here to threaten individuals.”
The camp has a media tent featuring ‘zines’ or pamphlets with various ideologies and the camp’s official positions and demands. One educational booklet given out at the camp reads, “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was an Act of Decolonization,” essentially justifying the Hamas-led October 7th terrorist attack on Israel. In that attack, Hamas killed more than 1,200 Israelis and still holds 134 men, women, and children in captivity.
According to a U.N. report, “there are reasonable grounds to believe that conflict-related sexual violence — including rape and gang-rape — occurred across multiple locations of Israel and the Gaza periphery during the attacks on October 7, 2023.
“There are subtle free speech words and phrases that are known to not be okay within certain communities and certain identity communities,” Gitelson adds. “I think broadly, not entirely, but broadly, the Jewish community doesn’t feel the same is being applied. That Jews are saying this is anti-Semitic, and people are arguing with us that it’s not.
One of the camp’s media liaisons says outside community members have placed pamphlets at the encampment that do not reflect the official positions of the encampment, and students are vetting them for inflammatory language.
“We are trying to separate things that we’ve made from things that people have come and dropped by because again, we’re trying to vet them and the goal of this table is to give people an opportunity to learn about how other people are thinking,” Deodora adds.
That pamphlet has since been removed from the camp’s media tent.
UO administrators hand-delivered notices to students on Wednesday stating that the encampment violates multiple policies. However, University President Karl Scholz said there are no current plans to remove students from the encampment.
During a university senate meeting that same day, Scholz said the administration would not entertain a divestment process. The camp’s leaders met with the administration on Friday, May 3. According to Deodora, students will continue to push for their demands.
Since April 29, the camp has grown to over 100 tents, and the situation has remained calm as negotiations continue.
