Ah! sunflower, weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the sun,
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveller’s journey is done;

Where the youth pined away with desire,
And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,
Arise from their graves and aspire;
Where my sunflower wishes to go.

William Rose (b. Abt. 1715, d. Abt. 1803)William Rose (son of Hill Rose) was born Abt. 1715 in England, and died Abt. 1803 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania

He married Sarah Gardner on Abt. 1739 in Maryland.
