EXTRA! Five hours after I wrote this post, Hope Hicks, resigned. Her and Belle’s story is yet to be understood. Belle got involved in politics when she and other members of SLEEPS trespassed in the City Manager’s office. I wondered if she was going to be run as a candidate by her crew of homeless advocates. Mary Semple, who appears in their video, did win a seat on the Eugene City Council. She held the office of ‘The Slug Queen’, a moniker Trump might employ, eventually. Will another woman take Hope’s place? How about a Russian, known as ‘The Rouge Sparrow”?
The Fall of Belle and Hope (Beautiful Hope) bids me to forgive them both. These are daring, and beautiful women, who took a great chance. They did not fall back on Baby-making For Jesus. How women are rewarded in a political power system, needs to be established in tradition. Powerful Men make many mistakes on the way to the top.

- A White House source told the news website Axios that Jared Kushner and his wife, Ivanka Trump, were squaring up for a “death match” with the White House chief of staff, John Kelly.
- Kushner had a horrendous Tuesday, when he had his security clearance downgraded and also appeared to break the law.

The “fishy” Instagram model at the center of a Russian oligarch scandal has been caught in Thailand, and says she will give information to the U.S. in exchange for help.
Nastya Rybka was taken into custody by Thai police and was being transferred from a jail in Pattaya to Bangkok, her spokesman Pavlo Yunko told the Daily News Wednesday by phone from Thailand.
Local media said the arrest was over a “sex training course” that Rybka helped run. Rybka is a native Belarussian whose real name is Anastasia Vashukevich, her pseudnoym means “fish” in Russian.
She said in a series of Instagram posts, however, that the arrest was because she recently ran afoul of the powerful oligarch Oleg Deripaska.

Images from her social media, where she now has more than 100,000 followers on Instagram, were used by Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny to allege a secret 2016 meeting between Deripaska and deputy Russian prime minister Sergei Prikhodko.
One video from Rybka, who Navalny called an escort, showed the two powerful men on a yacht off the coast of Norway discussing issues including former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland.
Rybka was arrested along with others who offered a sex training course in Thailand.

Beyond the alleged corruption of private yacht trips, Navalny said that Deripaska, who once employed President Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort and was reportedly offered briefings by him in 2016, could have served as a link between the campaign and the Kremlin.
The oligarch has denied any connection to meddling in the election whenever his name pops up, and sued shortly after Navalny’s video to have the content taken off the internet because it violated his privacy.
Rybka, meanwhile, enjoyed her rise to fame from the warmer confines of Dubai and Thailand, where she and a group of Russians including “sex guru” Alexey Lesley were holding a sex training course for tourists.
Thai officials say they were arrested for working in the country without permission, though Rybka and her spokesman said that the drive to deport them back to Russia was political.
“The thing is that Nastya and Alex have a lot of information recorded from the yacht where she was and that only she knows,” Yunko, who was not arrested and said he is a U.S. citizen from New York, told the News.

Let me say first of all that I approve of the mere existence of this ‘zine, as well as Jason Pitzl-Waters’ Witchcraft Today – Witchcraft Tomorrow: A Manifesto, with which it makes a fine companion. The cover art is also excellent, and you can see more of Alley Valkyrie’s designs here. I see this work as both a visible manifestation of a lively artistic, intellectual, and spiritual community, and the beginning of an important conversation.
By way of engaging in that conversation, I have some quibbles. I could have wished for a little less primer and a little more Pagan. There’s a fair amount of explanation of how and why exploitation of labor is fundamental to capitalism and the history of same, but not enough (to my mind) of what that has to do with Pagans in particular. The most theologically profound observation in the ‘zine is made early on as an introductory remark and almost as an aside:
Lots of Pagan religions like the earth and believe in spirits, faeries, and gods of land, or in a great earth spirit or mother or goddess. That’s one of the reasons why Paganism is usually defined as an ‘earth-based’ religion. And who can own the land or the trees? Well, under Capitalism, people with money and power and access to the systems that delegate and enforce private property rights.

He assured me there will be no agenda like the one Jeff Holiday mentioned. He assured me the Board would never hear such a suggestion, nor was I welcome to come and defend myself.
