The Warrior Cardinal Must Go

This man must go. O-Brien knows Paul Weyrich invented the fake abortion crisis to counter the Civil Rights Movement. What does abortion have to do with “caring” about all people’s who suffer? It is an Evil Excuse to be a Racist Warrior. Europeans are for abortions. What heritage is being betrayed? The founding fathers did not give slaves or women the right to vote. How does Edwin feel about President Trump grabbing pussy?

Get out of Jerusalem! Stop lying! How dare you insult the President of the United States while employing a Vatican Cote of Arms, then claim you are upholding traditions. I am sure slave owner, George Washington,  knew about abortions – and did nothing about it! You are the racist head of the whitest of the white who hated Barack Obama the minute he became a candidate. You are more bigoted than Archie Bunker. Why aren’t you objecting to the tax plan that takes from the poor and gives to the rich? If Saint Francis returned, he would expose your support for an increase in our military budget.

Both Israel and Italy allow legal abortions. Right-wing Catholics are going after Pope Francis claiming he betrayed the Knights of Malta. I suspect Francis fears for his life.

“The posters, which feature Pope Francis’ face, refer to the “decapitation” of the Knights of Malta.”

Edwin Frederick O’Brien (born April 8, 1939) is an American Cardinal prelate of the Catholic Church. He has been the Grand Master of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre since March 15, 2012, having previously served as Pro-Grand Master since August 29, 2011.[1]

He previously held positions as 15th Archbishop of Baltimore from 2007 to 2011, and as 7th Archbishop for the Military Services from 1997 to 2007.

O’Brien opposes abortion, calling it the “greatest civil rights issue of our time” and saying, “[The right to life] will determine whether America remains a hospitable society: committed to caring for women in crisis and their unborn children; committed to caring for those with special needs; committed to caring for the elderly and the dying; or whether America betrays our heritage and the truths on which its founders staked its claim to independence.”[25] During the 2008 presidential election, he lamented that the “clear and unchanged teaching of our Church from its earliest days has been so distorted in political debate and commentary,”[26] an indirect criticism of remarks made by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and then-Senator Joe Biden concerning the Church’s teaching on abortion. In March 2009, he said he was both “disappointed and bewildered” by the decision of the University of Notre Dame to have President Barack Obama deliver the commencement speech and receive an honorary degree at the university’s graduation ceremony, given Obama’s support for legal abortion and embryonic stem cell research (which O’Brien opposes).[27]

Other church leaders are now beginning to align themselves with right-wing politicians in Italy – giving rise to fears even the Vatican could be rocked by the Donald Trump administration in Washington.
Powerful American cardinal Raymond Burke added fuel to the fire over the weekend when it was revealed he met with Matteo Salvini, the rightwing Italian nationalist – a staunch supporter of the new US president.
Cardinal Burke’s meeting with the head of the Northern League party has ignited fears divisions between traditionalists and the pope are becoming political.
Increasingly, traditionalist and conservative branches of the Catholic church are reportedly feel ignored and even attacked by the progressive Argentine pontiff.

Meanwhile, anti-pope posters were plastered all over Rome asking the church leader “where is your mercy?”

No group has taken credit for the move and Conservative religious groups are being blamed.

The posters, which feature Pope Francis’ face, refer to the “decapitation” of the Knights of Malta.

In the US, Donald Trump’s administration is turning back decades of progression by passing legislation on abortion and same sex marriage.

The Trump issue has managed to divide not only the US and citizens around the globe – it is also splitting the top of the church.

Pope Francis’s allies who back his message of inclusion and support for immigrants have been left furious over the travel ban from majority-Muslim countries.

On August 17, 2011, after Cardinal John Patrick Foley had reached retirement age, Cardinal Bertone asked O’Brien during a visit to Rome to take the position of ProGrand Master. O’Brien accepted the next day[21] and was appointed on August 29, 2011. He was succeeded as Archbishop of Baltimore by William Edward Lori.

Pope Benedict XVI elevated Archbishop O’Brien to Cardinal along with 21 others on February 18, 2012. O’Brien was created Cardinal-Deacon of San Sebastiano al Palatino, the same titular church held by previous Grand Master, Cardinal Foley. Cardinal O’Brien was named Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem on March 15, 2012.[22][23]

On April 21, 2012, O’Brien was appointed a member of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches and the Pontifical Council Cor Unum[24] in addition to his membership of the Congregation for Catholic Education.

He was one of the cardinal electors who participated in the 2013 papal conclave that elected Pope Francis.

As Archbishop for the Military Services, O’Brien has been an outspoken proponent of the Just war theory. Sometimes called the “Warrior Cardinal”, he is seen as a controversial figure and is considered to have given moral justifications for the US military intervention in Iraq[39][40] which had terrible consequences on the Christianity in Iraq with its almost annihilation ten years later under a Shiite regime allied with Teheran.[41][42] Early 2003, O’Brien preached to the soldiers at West Point saying openly at mass : “I know that a lot of people have said that the Pope is against war with Iraq … But even if he did, you are not bound by conscience to obey his opinion. However, you are bound in conscience to obey the orders of your Commander-in-Chief, and if he orders you to go to war, it is your duty to go to war”.[43]
