Newsom was born in San Francisco, California, the son of Christine (née Brennan) and William A. Newsom II. A lifelong San Franciscan, Newsom has longstanding political and financial ties. His father was a close friend of Pat Brown, who rose from San Francisco district attorney to governor of California.[2]
Newsom’s late sister Barbara was once married to Ron Pelosi, brother-in-law of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He is also a close friend of Gordon Getty, son of oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, whom he met in the late 1940s while attending St. Ignatius Catholic prep school in San Francisco.[1]

Newsom went to University of San Francisco, followed by Stanford Law School and was admitted to the California Bar in 1962. He worked as legal adviser to the Italian division of Getty Oil and then as a tax attorney for the Getty family.[2] In 1967, he married Tessa Menzies, and had two children before divorcing after five years.[2] In 1968, he ran unsuccessfully against State Senator Milton Marks, a popular Republican.[2]
In 1975, Jerry Brown appointed Newsom to the Superior Court bench in Auburn (Placer County) and later to the state Court of Appeals in San Francisco, where he served until 1995.[2]

Newsom currently serves as a financial advisor for the Getty family businesses. He directly manages the Gordon P. Getty Family Trust, which is estimated at more than $2 billion.[1] The trust earns about 2 percent a year resulting in approximately $40 million in annual income.[2] He screens potential investments and makes recommendations on real estate, stocks, bonds, and other ventures. “I make my living working for Gordon Getty”, Newsom said in 2003.[1]
I kept it a secret Christine and I are kin to Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, whose son married into the Getty family, that founded PlumpJack. This is very key, because I filed a very cryptic letter in Rosamond’s probate, showing aspects of our Rose Line, that Dan Brown and Margaret Starbird allude to in a book and movie. “More than 400 people across the country have been charged with participating in health care fraud scams totaling about $1.3 billion in false billings, including for the prescription and distribution of opioids.
In what federal officials Thursday called the “largest ever health care fraud enforcement action” by the Medicare Fraud Strike Force, 412 individuals, including 115 doctors, nurses and other licensed medical professionals, were arrested in a nationwide operation that involved more than 1,000 law enforcement agents in at least 30 states.
“One American dies of a drug overdose every 11 minutes and more than 2 million Americans are ensnared in addiction to prescription painkillers,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said at a news conference. “We will continue to find, arrest, prosecute, convict and incarcerate fraudsters and drug dealers wherever they are.”

It may be of interest to note that Mary Magdalene is revered in Provence, France (ancient Gaul) as “the Saint Apostle of Provence” thus elevating her to an apostolic status. In this same work, Margaret Starbird states that Provence: “.. had been the centre of a cult of Mary Magdalene for centuries, as witness the numerous chapels, fountains, springs, and other geographical landmarks in the region that bear her name. She was the patron saint of gardens and vineyards throughout the region.. It was not accidental that the cult of the Rose (an anagram of Eros) flourished and bloomed in the garden of Provence.” She further remarks: “The idiom ‘under the sign of the rose’ actually meant something specific for the initiated. For them.. the secret is the rose – the red rose of the other Mary, the Mary who represents Eros, the passionate bridal aspect of the feminine, which was denied by the established church.”

(1896–1975) philanthropist; born in Minnesota; and Leonard W. (1891–1953) pathologist; born in Vacaville, Calif. Beryl met Leonard at Roosevelt Hospital in Oakland where she was training to be a nurse and he a doctor. They married a year later (1914). Leonard’s father died in 1916, and his mother in 1920, leaving the Buck’s millionaires with a fortune from oil. They built an estate in Ross (Marin County) (1931), and Leonard, a pathologist, taught at the University of California: San Francisco (1928–51). Leonard died suddenly, leaving all his estate to Beryl. What was a $15 million bequest became a $253-million trust when the Buck’s Beldridge Oil stock was bought by Shell Oil. Attempts by the San Francisco Foundation to spend money outside the already prosperous Marin County resulted in litigation and a court settlement (1986) establishing the Marin Community Foundation (1987), which administers the trust now valued at more than $500 million for Marin County residents.
