Bethlehem is a Moabite refuge for descendants of Ruth and Boaz. There was a synagogue dedicated to the King and Queen of Moab and Judaea. Long ago, the High Priest and his Scribes cast-wrote the Moabites out of God’s Covenant, but, many Moabites continued to practice the Laws of Moses. This is why the Pharasies question the Moabite Savior. It is to this synagogue Jesus comes after spending forty days in the wilderness. Satan tempts him, offering the Go’el Redeemer a crown that would make him king of Moabite cities. But, he has come like Moses to free his people, thousands of Moabites who have become the slaves of the Jews – who try to throw Jesus off a cliff. Why? The Moabites and Jews were once like blood-brothers. They have a falling out. They killed one another. Manslayers were sent to avenge their kindred. Jesus dies on the cross…
