I Was Just A King

“From now on
people are my swords.””

As a theologian I puzzle over things for a long time. The strange raising of the dead at the moment of Jesus’s death, is a thorn in the side of the resurectionists who move this event three days into the future, they rising from their graves when Jesus rises from his tomb.

The other event is the reaction of the Jews when Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a ass. The Jews recognize Jesus as their King, and their Go’el Redeemer. Why would Christians say he was not recognized by the Jews, and thus they crucified him?

The other puzzle, is why did the Jews try to throw Jesus off a cliff after he read from Isaiah? Jesus has been in the wilderness for forty days, and was tempted by Satan who offered him crowns, kingship over great cities, but, he chose to be the King of Jerusalem, THE KING OF ZION, and thus he reads this aloud;

“Isaiah 61:1-2 (NIV) The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn.”

What???? “proclaim freedom for the captives”. What is Jesus going to do, let people out of Jail? Why would this upset the Jews? When I read ‘A Humble King Riding a Donkey’  I saw the light.

“And you, because of my blood covenant with you,
I’ll release your prisoners from their hopeless cells.”

Hopeless cells? Then the SLEEPING DEAD were living prisoners?

51And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split. 52The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many.…

The Jewish Historian, Joseph Flavius, mentions the “innovations” of the rebels who led the revolt against Jewish leaders and the Imperial Slave State of Rome, that like the followers of General Lee, killed people who wanted to set slaves free in America. Today, many neo-Confederates claim they were forced to betray the United States because these innovations were un-Constutional.

“Simon bar Giora later announced the release of prisoners and the
liberation of slaves (Josephus, WAR 4.508).”

Simon bar Giora appears to be fulfilling the prophecy made by Zechariah, and, following the Jubilee Laws of the God of the Jews. Remember Him? Though he is not seen as a candidate for Messiah, it is obvious he is just that – and a King! Why don’t Jews this very day want to acknowlege Simon as a candidate? Because, his mother, or his father, or both, were proselytes, converts to Judaism! WHAT???????

“surname probably means ‘son of a proselyte'”

Is this the INNOVATION Josephus refers to? If so, then, what need of Saint Paul, who claims he sailed the “seven seas” delivering the message of the Jewish Messiah – TO GENTILES!!! What? Christianity says esus was not recognized by THE JEWS, because he was NOT A JEW, in their eyes, nor were many of his followers! However, Jews all over the diaspora had to have heard about the revolt of Simon, as well as the proselytes in many foreign cities.

He will offer peace to the nations,
a peaceful rule worldwide,
from the four winds to the seven seas.

The Jubilee Law was done away with fifty years before the birth of Jesus. Simon is RASING this law from the dead, and making it applicable to non-Jews who become proselytes, and the Idumeans, who were forcefully converted. This is a world-wide Revolt against slavery and the Roman tax. I believe Paul of Tarsus was hired to destroy this revolt with pen and ink, by authoring a facsimile revolt, where his followers pay their taxes, remain slaves, and forget about Zion.  No way was did THE DEAD Jesus anoint Paul the successor to his REVOLT!

“He was a very competent general who attracted some forty thousand soldiers, promising ‘liberty for slaves and rewards for the free’, a political program that was sufficient to incur the hate of the conservative Flavius Josephus. The Idumean was invited by that part of the population of Jerusalem

For the reason Simon met his death by being thrown off a cliff, and for the reason he and his followers dug tunnels that brought them into the city of Jerusalem, I declare Simon the Son of Prosylite, the real human being that the fictional Jesus was based upon. But. more than that, the innovation that Simon introduced to the world, was……DEMOCRACY!

“From now on
people are my swords.”

Simon saw the Common Man as the collective liberator of slaves, and those who were imprisoned for not paying their taxes to slave masters. Because the Sanhedrin and the Jewish Priests did not recognize Simon and his followers as Jews, Sons of God, this was a SECULAR REVOLT, a un-sanctioned revolt, not ordained by the God of the Jews – or so they said! If  you love FREEDOM, and this DEMOCRACY, you have to ask why Jesus did not tell our Founding Fathers to free the slaves, and give women the right to vote? The only answer is, that Jesus, was false, and Simon, was the real deal.

On this day, I declare the long Dark Age of Jesus the Roman Slave Master, at an end – and so is the insane cult of the evangelicals of John Darby that has taken over our Congress and Senate.

I declare Simon bar the true Messiah-KING OF THE WORLD!

“Ancient peasant revolts were infrequent because of the perennial
localism of peasants and the highly organized means of violence in
the hands of elite groups. Not surprisingly, the great Judean Revolt
of 66-70 CE was accompanied by tax remedies. The Jerusalem debt
archives were burned during the initial phases (Josephus, WAR 2.427),
and Simon bar Giora later announced the release of prisoners and the
liberation of slaves (Josephus, WAR 4.508). When recounting the
burning of the Jerusalem archives, Josephus refers to them as
the “sinews of the city.” He might have said empire as well.”

According to Josephus also, the Roman tax arrangements implemented
when Judea became an imperial province in 6 CE were met with stiff
resistance. Judas of Gamala (in Gaulanitis, the present-day Golan
Heights to the east of the Galilean lake) and a certain Zaddok the
Pharisee, insisting that there is no God but God and that paying taxes was not in accordance with God.

In accordance with the Levitical Law given to Moses, a “Jubilee” occurs every 50 years. The 6,000 years of man will exactly complete 120 Jubilees. The root 12 in the number 120 is significant in that the number 12 denotes a completion number for man. There were 12 Children of Israel, creating 12 tribes of Israel; and 12 disciples of Jesus.

Leviticus 25:8-55 (NIV) “‘Count off seven sabbaths of years–seven times seven years–so that the seven sabbaths of years amount to a period of forty-nine years. 9 Then have the trumpet sounded everywhere on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement sound the trumpet throughout your land. 10 Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you; each one of you is to return to his family property and each to his own clan. 11 The fiftieth year shall be a jubilee for you; do not sow and do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the untended vines. 12 For it is a jubilee and is to be holy for you; eat only what is taken directly from the fields. 13 “‘In this Year of Jubilee everyone is to return to his own property. 14 “‘If you sell land to one of your countrymen or buy any from him, do not take advantage of each other. 15 You are to buy from your countryman on the basis of the number of years since the Jubilee. And he is to sell to you on the basis of the number of years left for harvesting crops.

A Humble King Riding a Donkey

9-10 “Shout and cheer, Daughter Zion!
Raise the roof, Daughter Jerusalem!
Your king is coming!
a good king who makes all things right,
a humble king riding a donkey,
a mere colt of a donkey.
I’ve had it with war—no more chariots in Ephraim,
no more war horses in Jerusalem,
no more swords and spears, bows and arrows.
He will offer peace to the nations,
a peaceful rule worldwide,
from the four winds to the seven seas.

11-13 “And you, because of my blood covenant with you,
I’ll release your prisoners from their hopeless cells.
Come home, hope-filled prisoners!
This very day I’m declaring a double bonus—
everything you lost returned twice-over!
Judah is now my weapon, the bow I’ll pull,
setting Ephraim as an arrow to the string.
I’ll wake up your sons, O Zion,
to counter your sons, O Greece.
From now on
people are my swords.”

Story: As a leader of the Jewish revolt against Rome, the Idumean Simon bar Giora -the surname probably means ‘son of a proselyte’- was the most important rival of John of Gischala. He was a very competent general who attracted some forty thousand soldiers, promising ‘liberty for slaves and rewards for the free’, a political program that was sufficient to incur the hate of the conservative Flavius Josephus. The Idumean was invited by that part of the population of Jerusalem that feared the power of John; he entered the city in the spring of 69. There, he ruled as a king, until he was forced to surrender to the Romans:

Simon had been in the upper city during the siege of Jerusalem, but when the Roman army had got within the walls and were laying the city waste, he then took the most faithful of his friends with him, and among them several stone-cutters, with those iron tools which belonged to their occupation. Taking with them as great a quantity of provisions as would suffice them for a long time, he let himself and all them down into a certain subterranean cavern that was not visible above ground. Now, so far as had been digged of old, they went onward along it without disturbance; but where they met with solid earth, they dug a mine under ground, and hoping that they should be able to proceed so far as to rise from underground in a safe place, and by that means escape. But when they came to make the experiment, they were disappointed of their hope; for the miners could make but small progress, and that with difficulty also because their provisions, though they distributed them by measure, began to fail them.
Simon, thinking he might be able to astonish and elude the Romans, put on a white frock, and buttoned upon him a purple cloak, and appeared out of the ground in the place where the temple had formerly been. At the first, indeed, those that saw him were greatly astonished, and stood still where they were; but afterward they came nearer to him, and asked him who he was. Now Simon would not tell them, but bid them call for their captain; and when they ran to call him, Terentius Rufus (who was left to command the army there) came to Simon, and learned of him the whole truth, and kept him in bonds, and let Titus know that he was taken. Thus did God bring this man to be punished for what bitter and savage tyranny he had exercised against his countrymen.

[Flavius Josephus, Jewish War 7.26-32]

Comment: Bar Giora coins bore the legend ‘Redemption of Zion’, indicating that there was a religious aspect to Simon’s bid for power. This does not prove that he was considered the Messiah, but it is likely. The fact that he wore a royal robe in the Temple is another indication.
