Who is Bill Rozier’s Patriot Ancestor?

I just got off the phone with a gentleman at the…..

the Cheaha Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution

He directed me to the national website, and I sent a message to the SAR in Oregon, to get the ball rolling.

I have pointed out to William Houston Rozier, he has no connection to Rev. John Rozier. I posted on his site, one of the DEAD ENDS I found. The only way to get around this BLOCK is research SAR records. One is bid to prove you descend from a Patriot. Go for it? Don’t you advertise what a Patriot you are? How many were Catholics, who associated with the Knight Templars. Why do you saturate Facebook with…

THE ROUGEMONT NAME?

Mr. Rozier was an Army veteran and retired from the Alabama Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Church on the Rock, a charter member of the Cheaha Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and past member of the General Tige Anderson Sons of Confederate Veterans. How to Join the SAR

Chapter information can be found under “Chapters” on the menu at the top. You can inquire directly to the chapter of your choice or you can request information directly from Alabama Society at the “Contact Us For More Information” button below. We can team you up with a compatriot to help you on your quest for membership.

For information on how to join the SAR, inquire  directly to the Alabama Society Registrar, Ron Bearden below:

SAR Member Eligibility

The applicant must be a citizen of good repute in the community and the lineal descendant of an ancestor who was at all times unfailing in loyalty to the cause of American independence. The patriot ancestor must have rendered acceptable service by overt acts of resistance to the authority of Great Britain. The patriot’s service and line of descent must be documented through acceptable references.

Researching Your Patriot Ancestor

The first step toward joining the SAR is finding and identifying your patriot ancestor. Most members would refer you to the resources listed below to give you a good foothold for your journey toward membership. Remember that the SAR is here to help you should you need it along the way. Consult your local chapter’s registrar should you encounter any missing links in your family’s history.

Although SAR members will assist prospective members in gathering the necessary documentation to prove lineage and service of the patriot ancestor, we generally do not do in-depth research for prospective members. Once a prospective member has identified a patriot ancestor and has gathered the basic documentation necessary to prove lineage and service of the patriot, the prospective member should contact a local SAR Chapter Registrar or contact the ALSSAR State Registrar for further assistance.

William H. Rozier claims he descends from Robin Hood. But, if you look at his family tree, you see he does not know who his great grandfather is. This is very damning, because in William Earl Rozier Jr.’s obituary, it says his father is a member of two groups that scrutinize your Tree. There is such a thing as…

STOLEN VALOR

“To initiate the SAR membership process, you should begin by ensuring that you can satisfy the SAR membership requirements and that you are a direct descendant of a Revolutionary War Patriot.”

The New Templars are Africa bound

James Rosemond from Basle was born 1 Jan 1649, a reasonably close match to the legendary 1650 date for the birth of Sergeant Rosemond. He was a Huguenot. He moved to France as a young man, and it is likely that he fled France at the right time. After he left France, nothing is known about him. This James Rosemond’s ancestry in Switzerland traces back to an Erhart de Rougemont who purchased a home in Basle, Switzerland in 1495. It appears that Erhart was a member of the de Rougemont family that lived in Belfort, France. Belfort is about 50 miles from Basle. The members of the de Rougemont family in Belfort were minor nobles and can be traced back to the 12th century.

The most famous descendant of this branch of the Rosemond family, and arguably the Rosamond family as a whole, is the actress Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor whose grandmother was Elizabeth Mary Rosemond from Guernsey County, Ohio.

I Am Related To Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor

After my minor sixteen year old daughter was lured away, and disappeared from my life for two years, I discovered from my kindred, Jimmy Rosamond, that the three of us descend from the same great grandfather, James Rosamond. This puts us in a rosy family tree with many actors and actresses, one of them being Carrie Fisher, who wrote a famous book about substance abuse. Liz was the muse of Andy Warhol, and encouraged Michael Jackson to take up art.

According to Jimmy Rosamond, the late actress, Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, is my kin. Dame Elizabeth is in the Peerage. Over ten years ago Elizabeth put a short biography, along with the top photo, on the Rosamond genealogy website. Then it was gone. She may now be kin to the Stewarts, and her children may want to take the DNA test so we may gather our roses, bring them into the Rose of the World Garden.

I am looking for descendants of Philip Rosemond and Moses Morton Rosemond
who lived in Guernsey County, OH in the mid-1800s. This family descended
from a James Rosemond who lived in County Leitrim, Ireland in the early
1700s. Other members of this same family settled in Lanark, Ontario, Canada.
The southern Rosamond family is also said to be descended from this same
family, as are the Rosamond families in Australia and New Zealand. I am
trying to tie all the branches of the family together. The information on
the family in Guernsey County, OH is shown below. I’d appreciate hearing
from anyone who has any information regarding this family.

The reference for the earlier generations of this family is the booklet “The
History of the Rosemond Family” by Leland Eugene Rosemond, 1939.

Thanks.
