“Get behind me Satan!”

Where Art Thou?

I will give the sisters the name of the man who is trying to claim he “spoonfeeds” me all my knowlege and prophecy. I suspect he has been recording me, after he set me up with info he had put on his tablet – before he calls me! Several times I have told him….”That’s enough! My health has been bad and I have to cut my work load. He did not care. He loaded another topic on me. He wants me to die so he can put in a claim.

Two years ago he got mad at me because I was not making money for me – and him! He said he wants to ride around in a Rolls Royce smoking a cigar – even if I didn’t. He felt it was his right to…………….CASH IN! He was homeless for two years. He called me from a bus bench on Irving Street. I was his only friend.

The Context: Jesus tells his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem, suffer, and be killed. Peter, meaning well but misunderstanding God’s plan, pulls Jesus aside and insists this will never happen. [1, 2]
The Rebuke: Jesus turns and says to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man”. [1]
The Meaning: Jesus wasn’t literally calling Peter the devil. He was rejecting a human, worldly perspective. Peter’s desire to avoid suffering was tempting Jesus to abandon His ultimate mission—the cross.
