Bonds With Angels

Aileen Getty says she had a near-death experience. She is in the Rosamond Family Tree. I am in the Getty Tree, as is my daughter and two grandchildren. Aileen had seven miscarriages in the attempt for her and Michael Wilding to give birth to a child. No child has gone through such a gauntlet to be here on Earth as did Andrew Getty. When Christine Rosamond Benton found herself pregnant by Garth Benton, she wanted to name her child, Andrew. When she born a girl, she was named Drew. My niece can see many politicians in her Rosy Tree. The Fremont-Benton linage made up much of the early history of Oregon and California.

Aileen claims she had a spiritual awakening. In my next posts I will look at the Spiritual Program these united families shared. When I awoke this morning, my angel instructed me to gift the Getty and Buck families a common Spiritual Program, so that no member will again be shamed, or, feel ashamed when they speak of the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction. Aileen and her mother-in-law brought attention to those who suffer from AIDS, and worked hard to take away the shame of those who suffer. With the coronavirus, we are seeing much shaming – and little Unity. I am already designing the Rosemond-Gedde-Gette coat of arms that will consist of a Phoenix Bird and two Roses….rising above the ashes!

Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor was addicted to alcohol and pills. She claims she was dead for five minutes. Debbie Reynolds claimed she had a premonition about her daughter’s death. Carrie Fisher died using. My sister drowned on her first sober birthday in AA that is titled a ‘Spiritual Program’. My siblings knew I was a spiritual person. Why did they talk business with outsiders – before the funeral of a the world famous artist that went by her middle name ‘Rosamond’ the same as Liz? Vicki denied me my right to observe the death of my sister – in a religious manner. She did not tell me my mother was dying – and our father was dead. Funerals are traditionally a religious occasion – as is being born and Baptized. I was not there when my daughter was born – because I was not told I was a father. This is my main complaint. I believe those I was supposed to be close dismissed me and my spiritual program because they feared it QUALIFIED me for what truly interested them…….The Love of Money! These acts of being eliminated in the story of the New Testament. Christmas – is upon us!

I am going to write The Order of Saint Francis and see if they can establish a Sanctuary for celebrities who suffer from the Disease of Alcoholism. Aileen says she dealt with three incidents of stalking. The Sisters ministered to children stricken with polio. There will be no attempt to convert or preach to those who need protection while they struggle to live. Uniform guidelines should be set – outside Alcoholics Anonymous. A – Angel at the Door!

There were two English Roses. Dame Elizbeth was born in England. The Rosemond-Rosamond name has been traced to Rougemont Switzerland where Saint Nicholas hails. I just had a long conversation with my ally, Casey Farrell about developing a cosmology that is spiritual in nature, but is not religious. We have described ourselves as the New Grimm Brothers. An hour ago we saw ourselves as Santa and Merlin. We need happy endings – and hope there will be one.

“All’s well, that ends well!”

“Goodbye England’s rose
May you ever grow in our hearts
You were the grace that placed itself
Where lives were torn apart
You called out to our country
And you whispered to those in pain
Now you belong to heaven
And the stars spell out your name”

‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

The IOGT originated as one of a number of fraternal organizations for temperance or total abstinence founded in the 19th century and with a structure modeled on Freemasonry, using similar ritual and regalia. Unlike many, however, it admitted men and women equally, and also made no distinction by race.[3]

The IOGT named themselves after the Knights Templar, citing the legend that the original knights “drank sour milk, and also because they were fighting ‘a great crusade’ against ‘this terrible vice’ of alcohol.”[4]

In 1850, in Utica, New YorkDaniel Cady founded one such organization, the Knights of Jericho. In 1851, a lodge of it in Oriskany Falls (then known as Castor Hollow), a village near Utica, was visited by 13 members of another Utica group. Under the leadership of Wesley Bailey, it was decided that these two lodges form the Order of Good Templars. The motto of the renamed organization was “Friendship, Hope and Charity”.

Early Origins of the Getty family

The surname Getty was first found in Nairnshire (Gaelic: Siorrachd Inbhir Narann) in northern Scotland, today part of the Council Area of Highland where they held the lands of Geddes, formerly held by the Rose family.

It has been nearly three months since Aileen nearly died, of toxicity and weakness, in her doctor’s office, and nearly three months since she made a commitment to get sober. “I was clinically dead,” she says. “I went through the whole out-of-body experience and everything; it was probably the clearest memory I’ve ever had. And there was a moment where I got to choose whether to come back or not, and I didn’t know if I wanted to live. I have a lot of shame about that,” she confesses. “Life is given to one with so much love. It broke my heart when I realized I’d turned my back on it.”

“On the lip of life,” as she puts it, Aileen chose life; she learned to “walk its circumference instead of fucking it down the middle.” And she finally understood she didn’t want either disease to kill her. “It’s a hell of an achievement,” she boasts, “to get sober with HIV.

“Everyone has a right to participate in one’s life and in one’s death. I think I would rob my children of something they have a right to if I were to not tell them that I was supposedly going to die, or that I’m an alcoholic. They have that right to confront those challenges now, rather than later. And I think that oftentimes what we call grief after death is not grief but guilt, regret that we have not fully participated in the life of a loved one. There’s more guilt to grief than sadness.”

The Scottish Nation
Rose

ROSE, the name of a Nairnshire sept, the chief of which is Rose of Kilravock, pronounced Kilraik. The name is obviously derived from the British word Ros, a promontory. According to a tradition at one period prevalent among the clan Donald, the first of the Kilravock family came from Ireland, with one of the Macdonalds, lords of the Isles. These does not seem, however, to be any foundation for this, except, perhaps, that as vassals of the earls of Ross, the clan Rose were connected for about half a century with the lordship of the Isles. Mr. Hugh Rose, the genealogist of the Kilravock family, is of opinion that they were originally from England, and from their having three water bouggets in their coat armour, like the English family of Roos, it has been conjectured that they were of the same stock. But these figures were carried by other families than those of the name of Rose, or Roos. Four water bouggets with a cross in the middle were the arms of the Counts d’Eu in Normandy, and of the ancient earls of Essex in England of the surname of Bourchier. They were indicative of an ancestor of the respective families who bore them having been engaged in the crusades, and forced, in the deserts of Palestine, to fight for and carry water in the leathern vessels called bouggets, bugets, or buckets, which were usually slung across the horse or camel’s back. The family of Rose of Kilravock appear to have been settled in the county of Nairn in the reign of David I., their first designation being of Geddes. In the beginning of the reign of Alexander II., that is about 1219, Hugh Rose of Geddes was witness to the foundation charter of the priory of Beauly by Sir John Bisset of Lovat. His son, also named Hugh Rose of Geddes, acquired the lands of Kilravock, which became the chief title of the family, by his marriage with Mary, daughter of Sir Andrew de Bosco, by Elizabeth, his wife, daughter and co-heiress of Sir John Bisset of Lovat; which Elizabeth, designed Lady Kilravock, in her widowhood, disponed the lands of Kilravock to her son-in-law, Hugh Rose, and her daughter, Mary, his wife, and their heirs. The charter granted by her was confirmed by King John Baliol. This Hugh Rose, first of Kilravock, died about 1306.

Alas I have traced my grandfather’s mother, IDA LOUISIANA ROSE, to WILLIAM ROSE, who sailed for Cowes Isle of Wight, with William Penn. William and his wife, Jane Sarah Ridgway, landed in Philadelphia in December 3, 1699. They sailed on the Canterbury, perhaps the most important ship that sailed the waters of the Isle of Wight.

Alas, the TWO ROSES are joined in my ROSY FAMILY TREE. This makes my family one of the foremost PATRIOTIC AMERICAN FAMILIES  in history. We fought off pirates to arrive here, so we could practice RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.

In my mother’s name ROSEMARY ROSAMOND, the FAMILY ROSES are united. Here is a TRUE ROSELINE that I will design a cote of arms for, and get registered. This English Rose were Quakers. ROYAL ROSAMOND married MARY MAGDALENE. whose kindred fled religious persecution in Germany.

Of course, if you guessed from her surname that she is one of the fabulously rich Getty family, you’d be correct. Has it often occurred to you that often the richest families are the ones who seem to have the most tragedies and disasters in their lives? The Onassis and Kennedy families come to mind.

Aileen Getty was one of these people who suffered because of her family’s enormous wealth – yet she’s a survivor.

How did it all start?

Aileen was the second child of Jean Paul Getty II and his first wife, Gail. They had four children including Jean Paul III who was famously kidnapped in the 1970s.  The couple were divorced in 1964 and Gail received custody. Although Aileen’s father became known eventually as a philanthropist, during Aileen’s childhood he lived a ‘rich hippie’ lifestyle which included the mandatory drug problem.

After Gail and Jean Paul split up, Gail went to live with a man you Aileen resented. She was brought up in Italy but as a teenager sent to boarding school in England. She hated it and rebelled against the discipline of the school. The idea of this expensive education was to make her into a young society woman but it had the opposite effect – she became a rebel.

Later, she dropped out of the University of Southern California and did what most rebels of her day enjoyed – creating controversial artworks, protesting against the Vietnam war and using a good deals of drug, in particular cocaine which was favoured by the rich and famous.

Then there was sex. She lived for a while with a jazz pianist and then with a film director but soon became sidetracked by someone else and decided to marry. She had been spending time with a young man called Michael Wilding Jr and had got to know his younger brother, Christopher. People who know their movie history might know who the mother of the two young men was…

Elizabeth Taylor

A wedding between the son of one of the most famous women in America and the granddaughter of one of the richest men in the world was bound to be quite an undertaking and the logistics seemed impossible so, with their parents’ knowledge, the couple eloped and were secretly married at a wedding chapel on Sunset Strip.
But the marriage wasn’t to succeed.

Aileen later said that she became insecure when her parents were divorced and that the five month kidnapping ordeal of her brother Paul had made her realise distrust her family — and the family wealth. By the time she married Christopher she had already had a nervous breakdown.

Drugs didn’t help the situation. Her new husband was a kind man who indulged her. But the drugs caused massive mood swings. There was also the problem that, as two rich kids, they did not have the struggles that most young married couples have to go through to bond the the relationship.

Miscarriages, another nervous breakdown and a  several week disappearance were to follow. Although Christopher’s friends later said that he was ‘getting tired of being Aileen’s nursemaid’ the couple decided to adopt a son in an effort to cement their marriage.

As often happens, Aileen became pregnant shortly after the adoption and the couple now had another little boy born in 1985.

It was eight months later that she was confessing her terrible secret to Elizabeth Taylor

Aileen was severely depressed after the birth of her son and her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Taylor, decided that she needed to get away for a short spell. Ms Taylor was travelling to Paris in her role as president of the American Foundation for AIDS Research and took Aileen with her.

Aileen was horrified when she found out more about AIDS during the vacation. It made her aware of various risks she had taken in the past. She confessed to her mother-in-law that it was possible that she was HIV positive. Ms Taylor was incredibly reassuring and comforting.

After the Paris trip, she took Aileen to stay at her Bel Air mansion. And Aileen took blood tests. Although those who knew her were aware that she had a drama-queen side to her personality, in this instance she was right – the tests revealed that she was HIV positive.

Aileen knew that she couldn’t stay with her mother-in-law forever so fled to New York. She hit the bars – and the drugs scene – hard. She believed that it would be more ‘respectable’ if she died of a drug overdose. This demonstrates the stigma that was attached to AIDS in those days.

However she lived and returned to her husband and children, but Christopher was now talking about divorce. Christopher and his mother were the only people at this stage who knew about Aileen’s illness. She tried several supposed cures but nothing worked and eventually she told her family.

Divorce and remarriage

Christopher divorced Aileen in 1987. He also gained custody of the children. Those in the know thought that this might be the final blow for her but the following year she announced that she was marrying a young man she had met at her latest rehab clinic. When the couple returned from their honeymoon, Aileen was found unconscious the following day – a drug overdose. The second marriage ended.

AIDS

Less than three years later, she developed the first symptoms of AIDS itself. Her doctors told her that she might only have a few months to live. Her inherent rebelliousness kicked in. She hated people pitying her and she hated the stigma that was attached to her disease.  But for a time she was very ill.

When she was fitter, she announced publicly that she had AIDS and with the name of Getty (and that of Elizabeth Taylor) backing her up she became a champion for the rights of her fellow-sufferers, particularly women. She made no secret of the fact that she had contracted the disease by having unprotected sex with someone who she later discovered was HIV positive but repeatedly said that the way the disease was contracted was not important, that sufferers should be treated with the dignity that sufferers of any other disease were granted.

Aileen put her own house in order

As she gained fame for her campaigning she was determined to sort out her life. She tried to get out of her drug habit. She re-established a friendship with Christopher Wilding and was allowed custody of her children on four days of the week. In 2014 she was honoured with the Elizabeth Taylor Leadership Award. In the audience at the event were numerous members of the Getty family, plus many from the Wilding family.

In her acceptance speech, Aileen said “Thank you to my family. You have been my constant anchor. I am blown away every day by your love and support. I am so grateful to be surrounded by so much love here this evening.”

In 1990 when she discovered that she had the full-blown disease she said that AIDS had given her something positive to live for.

And at that time, her doctors had expected her to live for only a few months. What an inspiring story.

According to Jimmy Rosamond, the late actress, Elizabeth Rosemond Tyalor, is my kin. Dame Elizabeth is in the Peerage. Over ten years ago Elizabeth put a short biography, along with the top photo, on the Rosamond geneaology website. Then it was gone. She may now be kin to the Stewarts, and her children may want to take the DNA test so we may gather our roses, bring them into the Rose of the World Garden.

I am looking for descendants of Philip Rosemond and Moses Morton Rosemond
who lived in Guernsey County, OH in the mid-1800s. This family descended
from a James Rosemond who lived in County Leitrim, Ireland in the early
1700s. Other members of this same family settled in Lanark, Ontario, Canada.
The southern Rosamond family is also said to be descended from this same
family, as are the Rosamond families in Australia and New Zealand. I am
trying to tie all the branches of the family together. The information on
the family in Guernsey County, OH is shown below. I’d appreciate hearing
from anyone who has any information regarding this family.

The reference for the earlier generations of this family is the booklet “The
History of the Rosemond Family” by Leland Eugene Rosemond, 1939.

Thanks.
