My friend, Bryan MacLean was at the epicenter of the fear Manson and his followers were generating. He had to have been at the house on Cielo Drive – many times – because he knew Melcher – who was terrified of Charlie. He had promised to do a short film of the Manson Family. Was it going to be filmed at the Spahn Ranch? It appears Melcher sublet the Cielo house – and moved in with his Mom. Melcher would end up in therapy over his fear of Manson, who kept showing up – after he moved out! Did Charlie know Melcher was close to the Polanskis? Did Melcher warn them that they might be in danger – before they moved in and took over the lease?
