FILE- In this July 11, 2018, file photo Mick Mulvaney, acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and Director of the Office of Management, listens during a news conference at the Department of Justice in Washington. White House chief of staff Mulvaney said in an interview with “Fox News Sunday” Democrats will “never” see President Donald Trump’s tax returns. Mulvaney says Democrats just want “attention” and are engaging in a “political stunt” after the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Rep. Richard Neal, asked the IRS to provide six years of Trump’s personal tax returns and the returns for some of his businesses. (AP Photo/Jacquelyn Martin, File)
Mick Mulvaney is a nasty vicious man. He claims the American voter “litigated” something. We the People – vote! President Trump put his hand on a Bible and made a vow to serve ALL THE PEOPLE, not just Republicans. Trump promised to show his tax returns before he got elected, and, divest his business. Trump offered fake proof he had done so. Write your Senator and Congressman, and ask them to subpoena these fake documents while We The People are waiting to see Trump’s Tax Returns. The IRS is famous for spotting liars – and lies! Let’s start by establishing Trump is a liar – for sure! This will make it easier for other courts of law to judge Trump’s truthfulness, and prove it is he who plays politics every chance he gets!
CNN reported that the press was not allowed to take a closer look at the documents. The Associated Press similarly reported that Trump staffers blocked journalists from looking at the folders.
President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday wouldn’t allow reporters to see piles of documents displayed at his press conference, which he and lawyers said detailed his plans to disentangle himself from his business.
“These papers are just some of the many documents I’ve signed turning over complete and total control to my sons,” Trump said during his press conference, standing next to a table stacked with manila folders.
“They are not going to discuss [the business] with me,” Trump said of his sons. “Again, I don’t have to do this. They’re not going to discuss it with me.”
“Nor should they (obtain the documents)” Mulvaney told “Fox News Sunday.” “Keep in mind, that’s an issue that was already litigated during the election. Voters knew the President could have given over his tax returns, they knew that he didn’t and they elected him anyway. Which, of course, is what drives the Democrats crazy.”
Mulvaney’s comments come several days after House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal, a Democrat from Massachusetts, formally requested
six years of Trump’s personal tax returns from the Internal Revenue Service.
In a letter sent Wednesday to the IRS,
Neal cites a little known IRS code in his request for six years of Trump’s personal tax returns from 2013 to 2018. He also requested the tax returns of eight of Trump’s business entities, a nod to escalating pressure from liberals in the caucus who have argued that Trump’s personal returns wouldn’t sufficiently paint a picture of the President’s financial history.
“The Democrats are demanding that the IRS turn over the documents and that is not going to happen and they know it,” Mulvaney told Hemmer, adding that the request “is a political stunt.”
