Bockingfold Manor

In about 1553, Queen Mary granted the manor of Bockingfold, with its appurtances,  to Susan Tong, to hold in capite, and in about 1555, sold it to Thomas Culpeper10b, Esq. of Bedgebury, who was sheriff in the 3rd year of King Edward VI (1549). His eldest son, Alexander Culpeper11b in about 1564 alienated that part of this manor which lay in Goudhurst to Sharpleigh (descendant named Stephen Sharpleigh), and the other part of it which lay in Yalding, Brenchley, Marden and Horsmonden, to Roger Revell.
