City Council reverses course on plan to establish homeless camp in downtown Eugene
EUGENE, Ore. – The Eugene City Council unanimously reversed plans to establish a homeless camp downtown on the vacant site of the former City Hall.
Instead, the Council voted Wednesday to cooperate with Lane County on a new “Dusk to Dawn” site near Highway 99 and Roosevelt Boulevard.
The Council also agreed to discuss at a future date establishing a day center downtown for people who are homeless.
