There is no doubt Bill Arnold chose to die – by freight train. A motorist saw Bill drive his 1960 Volvo sedan on to the tracks around 12:20 A.M. and turn off his headlights. There was a curve in the tracks. The engineer would not have time to stop when his powerful lights lit up the Volvo. A artist and writer dies. A genius leaves the planet. Why?
Lt. Colonel Brian C. Arnold had the engineer take him down that track. He had to see for himself. He rode home to Oakland in the baggage car with his son’s coffin.
P.S. After I posted this I noticed that Billy Boy Arnold sang on the second train video. Tonight, I am going to redo the painting I did of Bill. Christine did a painting of herself on the tracks. Real Art is immortal.
