Art Buddy – A War Criminal?

Mr. President;

Due to the fact you have conspired to loot Iraq of its oil, if given a chance, I hereby resign as your Art Buddy. You may not have known looting is a War Crime, but, I can not give you the benefit of the doubt, for the No.1 looted item, is art, and artifacts. You have mentioned ISIS as an excuse to break international laws. You have to have seen what these monsters have done to works of art, monuments, and national treasures. They did not just go after the oil. They looted museums and sold art on the black market. Perhaps you came upon some of these items at the home of one of your rich friends, or, saw these items stashed in a locker at the Country Club. You should have hired an Art Expert – a long time ago!

The strategy of taking Iraq’s oil is plainly in violation of multiple international laws and United Nations agreements.”

You may be aware I have been trying to get ‘The Last Audience of the Habsburgs’ returned to the Austrian People. The City of Vienna has made a gallant effort to bring back art that was looted by the Nazis. The famous aritst, Stefan Eins, is assisting me in this matter.

I descend from true Patriots. In my family tree one finds an America Art Dynasty that includes Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, and the Benton family. Jessie Benton was the art patron of  Gutzun Borglum, who rendered the Mount Rushmore Monument – and did a bust of Jessie Fremont whose husband was the first Republican Presidential Candidate. For this reason I am going to send this letter to my Congressman Peter DeFazio, and have him present a Bill that will keep you away from Mount Rushmore. This Bill, if passed, will remove all artificacts, and works of art from the White House, lest they be destroyed, or, stolen. You can not be trusted, or your Russian friends. I declare you the No.1 Enemy of Art. You have betrayed the Bohemian Cause!

Gestapo Owned Viennese Art

Stay away from me Donald, and my art treasures. Don’t make me take out a restraining order out on you. I will call the Inernational Art Police who have offered to be my bodyguard, especially when I go golfing.

Why do I have the sneaky suspicion you and Putin are robbing Fort Knox?

WASHINGTON ― President Donald Trump told the CIA on Saturday that the so-called Islamic State probably would never have existed if the United States had seized Iraq’s oilfields, a claim that flies in the face of the analysis of most foreign policy experts and international law.

In unprepared remarks introducing his pick to lead the intelligence agency, Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.), Trump told CIA officials that when the United States went into Iraq, we should have “kept the oil.”

“Now I said it for economic reasons,” Trump said. “But if you think about it, Mike, if we kept the oil, you probably wouldn’t have ISIS because that’s where they made their money in the first place, so we should have kept the oil. But, OK, maybe we’ll have another chance.”

It’s a claim that Trump repeatedly used on the campaign trail. But the president’s willingness to tell the CIA ― and, indeed, the international community ― that he thinks the United States should have looted a country’s resources is a new mark in foreign diplomacy and yet another signal that there will be no shift to more responsible rhetoric now that Trump represents the country as its leader.

The strategy of taking Iraq’s oil is plainly in violation of multiple international laws and United Nations agreements.

Looting, also referred to as sacking, ransacking, plundering, despoiling, despoliation, and pillaging, is the indiscriminate taking of goods by force as part of a military or political victory, or during a catastrophe, such as war,[1] natural disaster,[2] or rioting.[3] The term is also used in a broader sense to describe egregious instances of theft and embezzlement, such as the “plundering” of private or public assets by governments.[4] Looting is loosely distinguished from scavenging in terms of objects taken: scavenging implies taking of essential items such as food, water, shelter, or other material needed for survival while looting implies items not necessary for survival such as luxury goods, art work, precious metals or other assorted items of value to the looters. The proceeds of all these activities can be described as booty, loot, plunder, spoils, or pillage.[5][6]
