I wrote the following on Amy Sargent’s facebook in regards to her painting.
‘One has climbed the mountain to see the Great Man. You come to a pagoda visible just over the crest. You know if you take a few more steps you will see him sitting in a lotus position, meditating. You turn, and go home.”
If there is one thing my dear friend loves, is a mystery. But, even more than that, she loves THE UNKNOWN! Amy can’t get enough of the unknown. This is why Theresa takes us into the unknown in her artwork where there are invisible things lurking about, some just around the corner. Take her binary code. Has anybody taken the trouble to see if it says something? Perhaps you can cut&paste it on to a card and be granted admittance to all kinds of good, and mysterious stuff? Has anyome considered she belongs to the Woman’s School of Surrealism?
What the pagoda painting is saying, in my opinion, is;
“Your curiosity has already enlightened you. Why do you want to see me? Do you really want – PROOF?”
Three weeks ago, Amy told me the name her mother wanted her to own, before she put her up for adoption. The top of my skull blew off, because I had been blocked. I could now read her. I asked why her mother kept her siblings, and not her? She has two sisters? I referred her to the story of Snow White.
I told Amy she is a Foundling, and I wrote an essay when I founded my newspaper, called;
‘A Family of Foundlings’
I told her my friend compared me to Tracker who has access to the Hall of Names in the movie ‘What Dream May Come’. All of a sudden I could see Amy, and her quest – her questions!
“Who am I. Where did I come from. Who are my parents. Why was I born? What is the meaning of life?”
Who? Where?What? Why?
Now do you see who is in the pagoda? When the Dali Lama dies, the Bhuddist Monks launch a world-wide search for his reincarnation. There is no bloodline to follow, because he is a Foundling. Moses was a Foundling, as was King Arthur. The search for oneself, is the most mysterious quest one can take – into the unknown!
My father claimed I was not his son, but the product of Rosemary’s betrayal. He put me just outside the threshold, and my three siblings did not protest. Now, they are gone from my life. They own no enlightenment. They are not curious to know the truth. They hate the un-known.
When two Foundlings find each other, there is no end to the creative things they can do, together. However, the Mysterious calls to us, and we are Beloved Orphans in the wilderness…… once again.
We don’t have birthdays like most folks do. We celebrate the day were put on our path.
Go find yourself Theresa Alee McIlwain! I am extremely thankful you let me look over your shoulder, as you seek the truth.
Your fellow Foundling!
