The Eastwoods of Oakland

Clint Eastwood was present when Christine Rosamond Benton presented the actor Jimmy Stuart with the large portrait she did of him. Mary Ann Tharaldsen, and Thomas Pynchon are in Christine’s family tree, as is Mel Lyman, whose cult member starred in Zabriskie Point. Was Clint aware of the movie made by Michael Barry when he hired Locke to play the role of a woman who is gang-raped, and, comes back to get her revenge on Mick, played by our friend, Paul Drake who was at our wedding reception when we got back to Oakland.

In the biography of Clint Eastwood by Patrick McGilligan ‘Clint, The Life and Legend’ I read this on page 30.

“Glenview, near Ardley Avenue, Crocker Highlands (named for the banking Crockers, who donated the site) and Frank Havens School (named for one of the Piedmont city fathers – three of the grammar schools the boy attended – were within a close radius of Piedmont.
