cambridgerrrMy kindred, Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor is in the Peerage as are those closely related to her. Burke’s Peerage, for the time being, does not pursue the genealogy of Elizabeth Mary Rosemond, Liz’s grandmother, to all the Rosamonds, including my mother Rosemary Rosamond, and my sister, Christine Rosamond Benton, whose marriage to Garth Benton put us in the Preston family tree that has ties to the Stewarts, and thus Kate and William Windsor who gave birth to a baby boy yesterday. This royal child is yet to have been given a name.

Elizabeth Rosemond was born with dual-citizenship and died a Dame and Citizen of the British Empire. For this reason many who are kin to her are also in the Peerage. See names below.

Liz was a “Screen Goddess”. Her and Richard Burton was regarded as Hollywood Royalty. In the 60s this couple generated the same excitement we see around William and Kate Windsor.

Above are photos of Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds, Paris Hilton, Christine Rosamond, Dame Rosemond, and the Screen Goddess, Zsa Zsa Gabor who was married to Conrad Hilton. All these beautiful women or the Peers of the beautiful new mother, Kate Windsor.

Congradulations Will and Kate – from America!

Is Dame Elizabeth British or American?
There has always been much confusion surrounding the nationality of Dame Elizabeth. Although born in England, her parents were American, so Elizabeth was born with dual citizenship. But early in her career, Elizabeth gave up her British citizenship to prevent paying additional taxes to her native country. However, because of recent changes in the law, Elizabeth again received dual citizenship when she married Michael Wilding in England in 1952. After she married Richard Burton, Elizabeth, by choice, became solely a British citizen, saying: “It is not true that I love America less, but I love my husband more.” After Elizabeth married John Warner, Elizabeth decided to again become an American citizen, but admitted that the process would take several years. It hadn’t been completed by the time rumours swirled that Warner might run for the Senate, which prompted Elizabeth to say: “I couldn’t vote for him anyway. I’m still a British citizen.” Elizabeth, now a Dame of the British Empire, holds both American and British passports.

The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is an order of chivalry established on 4 June 1917 by King George V.[1][2] The Order is composed of five classes in civil and military divisions. In descending order of seniority, these are:
Knight Grand Cross or Dame Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (GBE)[a]
Knight Commander or Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE or DBE)
Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE)
Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE)
Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE)
Only the highest two ranks automatically entitle its recipient to become a knight or dame, an honour allowing (but not prescribing) the postulant to use the title “Sir” (male) or “Dame” (female) before his or her first name (though men can be knighted separately from this and other Orders of Chivalry). Honorary knighthoods, given to individuals who are not nationals of a realm where Queen Elizabeth II is Head of State, permit use of the honour as a post-nominal but not as a title before their name

Dame Elizabeth Rosemond “Liz” Taylor, DBE (February 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011) was a British-American[2] actress. From her early years as a child star with MGM, she became one of the great screen actresses of Hollywood’s Golden Age. As one of the world’s most famous film stars, Taylor was recognized for her acting ability and for her glamorous lifestyle, beauty, and distinctive violet eyes.

Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor was born at Heathwood, her parents’ home at 8 Wildwood Road in Hampstead Garden Suburb,[3][4][5] a northwestern suburb of London; the younger of two children of Francis Lenn Taylor (1897–1968) and Sara Sothern (née Sara Viola Warmbrodt;[6] 1895–1994), who were Americans residing in England. Taylor’s older brother, Howard Taylor, was born in 1929.[7] Her parents were originally from Arkansas City, Kansas. Francis Taylor was an art dealer, and Sara was a former actress whose stage name was “Sara Sothern”. Sothern retired from the stage in 1926 when she married Francis in New York City. Taylor’s two first names are in honor of her paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Mary (Rosemond) Taylor.
Colonel Victor Cazalet, one of their closest friends, had an important influence on the family. He was a rich, well-connected bachelor, a Member of Parliament and close friend of Winston Churchill. Cazalet loved both art and theatre and was passionate when encouraging the Taylor family to think of England as their permanent home.

I am looking for descendants of Philip Rosemond and Moses Morton Rosemond
who lived in Guernsey County, OH in the mid-1800s. This family descended
from a James Rosemond who lived in County Leitrim, Ireland in the early
1700s. Other members of this same family settled in Lanark, Ontario, Canada.
The southern Rosamond family is also said to be descended from this same
family, as are the Rosamond families in Australia and New Zealand. I am
trying to tie all the branches of the family together. The information on
the family in Guernsey County, OH is shown below. I’d appreciate hearing
from anyone who has any information regarding this family.
The reference for the earlier generations of this family is the booklet “The
History of the Rosemond Family” by Leland Eugene Rosemond, 1939.

The Prince of Cambridge is here, and we now know his birthday (July 22), time of birth (4:24 p.m., London time), birth weight (8 lbs., 6 oz.), place of birth (the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital), astrological sign (Cancer, like his dad and late maternal grandmother) and how excited well-wishers are about the royal arrival (very).

Britain’s royal baby arrives
.
What we don’t yet know is his name. And until Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, announce a moniker for their little one, all we can do is wait — and make some guesses.

Bookmakers have placed odds on a few name contenders, and the all-around favorite seems to be George. Paddy Power lists the odds on that name at 7/4, as of Tuesday morning, while Ladbrokes has it at 2/1.

Other favorites, for those playing the name game, are James, Alexander, Arthur, Louis, Henry (the birth name of William’s brother, Prince Harry), Richard and Phillip.

Royal baby name game

What do you think Prince William and Kate will name their son?
Alexander.
Arthur.
George.
Henry.
James.
Something non-traditional.
Vote NowView results .

Some other names seem less likely — Joffrey (as in the “Game of Thrones” character) is listed on Paddy Power with odds of 500/1. Same goes for Elvis, Tyler and Rumpelstiltskin.

If William and Kate stick to tradition, it’s likely they’ll give their baby boy more than one name – William’s full name is William Arthur Phillip Louis, while his brother Harry is Henry Charles Albert David. Their father, the Prince of Wales, is Charles Phillip Arthur George, and Queen Elizabeth II was born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary.

Whatever they choose to call him, the baby’s official title will be His Royal Highness Prince (name) of Cambridge.

What do you think William and Kate will name their son? Vote in our poll, or share suggestions in the comments.
