My aunt Lilian was the first of the four Rosamond sisters to give birth to a child. Lil and her husband, Dick Molnar, named their son Richard Molnar Jr. In the photo above we see my aunt June holding Lil Dicky. June could not bear her husband, Vincent Rice, a child, so she adopted her sister Rosemary’s four children who were forever in crisis, and thus came to be the Rice Family Trust. June as the eldest daughter of Mary Magdalene Rosamond, looks so beautiful holding her nephew. In months a doctor would give Lil the bad news her son was born severely handicapped, and that it is best she put him in Camareo State Hospital where he was kept until it closed.
Lilian was devastated. Dicky was conceived when Dick was on leave in 1943. Captain Dick flew over sixty bombing missions over Germany. He had a large scar on his chin from a piece of shrapnel that entered his plane. Dicky was born in 1944 while the war was still raging. His father was a real hero. There is a good chance Patrice Hanson took care of Dicky before she retired. Heather Hanson showed disgust when her mother express joy at being a mother to these grownups that will forever be children. Patrice has a Peter Pan complex.
When Bill Cornwell called me a parasite, along with my daughter, because I am disabled, I disowned her. After my accident at McClure’s Beach, I was never the same. It was obvious something was wrong with me, which my father worked to his advantage. Vic got Lilian to believe I was not his son, but, was the product of Rosemary’s betrayal, thus, I deserved to be damaged goods. Lilian made me out to be her scapegoat. Something had gone wrong. I was against the war in Vietnam, and Dick was a hero. There should have been a reward for valor. Instead, the American tax payer may be taking care of Lil Dicky this very day. We do not know his fate. I suspect Dicky was seen a curse for the Rosamond daughters being disloyal to their beautiful father, he told not to come home when he went to New York to secure a book contract. Mary had her young daughters dress in the Indian costumes Royal gave them, and dance around the pyre of his burning books, his copies of ‘The Copper Indian’ he could not sell.
I told Heather I would not give her hand away in marriage to an alcoholic who gleefully turns my daughter into an alcoholic. One of Heather’s ilk should have spoke up and told my stupid child what she is throwing away. Instead, they too were delighted that the title ‘Mental Retard’ was being generously applied to me, it just what I deserve for not serving my country, I given a 4F.
Some family curses last hundreds of years before the family Redeemer come along, and wash away our sins and make it right.
The movie hero, Errol Flynn, spotted Lilian at a tennis match and began to date her. She was seventeen, the same age as Rena who may have wanted to be discovered, but, instead, she was saved by me, the metally ill Pretender to King Victor’s throne.
Early one morning this actor who played Robin Hood – a Duke of the Woods – came to the Rosamond home and began to serenade these besutiful sisters with his friend, who was also drunk. Mary chased this Sea-Rover away with a broom while dressed in her white nightgown, her long hair trialing after my grandmother as she tried to deliver this swashbuckler a meaningful swat.
