Pushed out of Nest

I love my body language in the photo above, I doing everything possible not to be present with my macho family military unit.I am a civilian. This photo should be included in some Vietnam Hisotry memorial to represent the weakling who was not willing to go. I look like a sickly bird being shoved out of the nest by the more powerful sibling who is being nuturued for combat.

In 1992, while visiting Rosemary, she said this to me while exhaling dragon smoke;

“You did’nt get rid of your family. They got rid of you?”

I turned slowly, and just gave her a long look. Afterall, I am the only one who flew over the cuckoo’s nest – and was out of there a long time ago!

“Nice try – Mom!”

When we used to look at the family photos together, Rosemary saved the best for last. The look on my brother’s face when Rosemary forced him to give me a loving hug caused mother to laugh hysterically, while precious smirked out the side of his face.
