Jessie Benton was a famous Abolitionist whose husband, John Fremont, was a the first presidential candidate for the Abolitionist Republican Party he co-founded. John was the first to emancipate slaves in America. My late sister, the world famous artist, Christine Rosamond Benton, is in Jessie’s family tree.
With my connections to the opening of the historic Mim’s House, my family history is now current and applicable to much of Oregon’s history. I believe I am the Heir to much of Oregon’s Western Style literature that Harte and Mark Twain made famous. Both men attended the Salon that Jessie held in San Francisco. My newspaper has been passed a Grail that H.L. Mencken brought west. My prophetic story ‘The Godzilla Run’ is in the style of Harte and Twain.
Here is Jessie’s father, Senator Thomas Hart Benton, on slavery. We need monuments to the Benton family and John Fremont in Oregon.
To behold Donald Trump in the front row of that black church, was to see Godzilla co-mingling with the black race. To some, he is still a monster. The conspiracy to keep me away from the shoot at the Mim’s house, then have Donald grab the Civil Rights limelight. is high drama and literature! The Messenger and the Pied Piper are done away with. Behold Doctor Jekll and Mr. Hyde! Where is our vampire slayer?

“I believe that Trump coming to Detroit is a joke, and I’m ashamed of the pastor who invited him,” she said. “In my opinion, he stabbed everyone in the back.”
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Many black folks in that church thought this was a very beautiful sight. The Beast had been tamed – by King Jesus! Trump is human – after all! Jesus sees beyond the truth he is a stone cold racist! Mark Twain would love to write this story. How about Victor Hugo and Oscar Wilde?

Last night, my man in San Francisco, Spooky Noodles, commented on the humor he read in my chapters ‘My First Job’ and ‘Bakers’. I mentioned Charles Dickens. A couple of paragraphs later we are all over Brett Harte whose patron was Jessie Benton Fremont. It was now clear I am Harte’s heir. Brett was the founder of the ‘Overland Monthly’ that became ‘Out West’ magazine that published Royal Rosamond’s poems and short stories. Jessie published at least one story in ‘The Land of Sunshine’. Above is a photograph of Royal reading his magazine ‘Bright Stories’. My stories of a gambler living in Shantytown, and his son the Loan Shark who emulated London’s Wolf Larsen, is pure Harte material.
Spooky Noodles has commented more that once how my great writing takes these sordid detours in order to fight with those who declare I am a dangerous lunatic out to get them. These slime balls have gone out of their way to trip me up, after seeing I am vulnerable to being labeled deluded and dangerous. I am done with them!
It is quite an accomplishment for two siblings born into a very destructive family, and not only survive, but become a famous artist – and now famous writer. This is the story the whole world wants to read. How did we manage it? Millions who were born to parents like Victor and Rosemary – want to know! My blog is liken to a magazine. Royal Rosamond Press has published more material then Brett’s magazines. I did this all by myself, with out any help or any money!
