Libby Schaff For President

She’s aching to escort Trump to prison!

By the time Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf arrives at Jack London Square for one of her regular community visits, a crowd of her constituents has already gathered. They’re here for Mobile Mayor, a series of pop-up events where residents can speak directly with the city leader about everything from the housing crisis, to parking tickets, to her bold decision that infuriated the Trump administration.

Biden stands and runs on his merits, but can not swing at his opponent. Twice he used his BIG GUN on Trump by insulting the crap out of him about how he uses a golf cart when he golfs!

THAT’S IT!?? Trump is a convicted felon that ran around with a porn star – behind his wife’s back – who winced when he griped abut Libby as he admired the mural of Apollo on his ceiling.

Libby and Kamala are Oaklanders, which may not be a good thing. But, will Trump make my hometown a better place to live?

Have these women hold news conferences -TOGETHER! Have Eric Swalwell come on stage and talk about Jan. 6th. Be – A TEAM! I want to be her Fight Manager!

Libby: “You wanted to arrest me? (pulls out handcuffs) Come over here and slap the cuffs on me – Fat Man! Where’s your wimpy weeny fink, Jeff Sessions? Did you run over him with your golf cart?

New Conference: “Are you going to debate Trump, some more?”

Libby: “Why would I do that. Our prisons are full of Innocent Men bellyaching they didn’t do it. Instead, I’m going to instruct you one how to use handcuffs – for those who want to be on the side of

“JUSTICE!”

“Get your ass over here, twinkle toes, I got some bling I want to lay on you!”

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has a message for Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf: “How dare you.”

Sessions has claimed that the “radical” Schaaf let “800 wanted criminals” off the hook when she warned residents of an incoming immigration raid across the Bay Area on February 24 via her official Twitter account.

“Those are 800 wanted criminals that are now at large in that community…that ICE will now have to pursue with more difficulty in more dangerous situations, all because of one mayor’s irresponsible action,” Sessions said on Wednesday in Sacramento at a law enforcement symposium hosted by a correctional officers’ union.

Sessions was quoting acting ICE director Tomas Homan, who told him that, because of Schaff’s tweet, the agency “failed to make 800 arrests”—more than three times the number of immigrants that ICE says it detained during a four-day raid across Northern California that ended on Saturday.

Oakland mayor fires back at Trump: ‘I am not obstructing justice’

The mayor of Oakland is firing back at President Donald Trump over his suggestion that the Department of Justice investigate her for obstruction of justice.

“Mr. President, I am not obstructing justice. I am seeking it,” wrote Libby Schaaf, the Democratic mayor of the California city since 2015, in an op-ed published in The Washington Post on Friday.

In February, Schaaf issued a public warning for the immigrant communities in her city about impending raids by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in the San Francisco Bay Area, a move that earned her heavy criticism from the Trump administration.

In an unprecedented warning this weekend, Schaaf alerted residents of large-scale raids by ICE agents in the San Francisco Bay Area within 24 hours. Major arrests have not materialized, but Schaaf's message comes after months of criticism following her administration's decision to allow Oakland police to work with ICE agents on a raid, violating city policies. Who is Libby Schaaf, the Oakland mayor called out by Sessions

“I wanted to make sure that people were prepared, not panicked, and that they understood their legal rights,” Schaaf wrote Friday of her decision back in February.

Schaaf said as mayor, it’s her “duty to protect my residents — especially when our most vulnerable are unjustly attacked.”

“As a leader, it’s my duty to call out this administration’s anti-immigrant fearmongering for what it is: a racist lie,” she wrote.

On Wednesday, Trump urged his attorney general to investigate Schaaf for obstruction of justice.

“You talk about obstruction of justice — I would recommend that you look at obstruction of justice for the mayor, Jeff,” Trump said to Attorney General Jeff Sessions during a White House meeting of California state officials and law enforcement officials about California’s so-called “sanctuary” policies on immigration enforcement.

Trump administration officials have repeatedly attacked sanctuary jurisdictions and local officials as harboring dangerous criminals. In March, the administration filed a federal lawsuit against California and some of its top officials over state policies that limit some cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.

In announcing the lawsuit, Sessions had harsh words for Schaaf.

“Her actions support those who flout our laws and boldly validates illegality,” Sessions said. “There’s no other way to interpret those remarks.”

“So here’s my message to Mayor Schaaf: How dare you?” Sessions continued. “How dare you needlessly endanger the lives of law enforcement to promote an open borders agenda?”

President Donald Trump’s fury over the Russia probe has just led to the ouster of the man who most embodies Trumpism — and who played a key role in Trump’s surprise election win in 2016.

On Wednesday, just one day after the midterm elections, Trump asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign, ending the longtime Alabama senator’s nearly two years running the Department of Justice.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday urged Attorney General Jeff Sessions to consider prosecuting the mayor of Oakland, California, whom he has accused of thwarting federal immigration laws, on an obstruction of justice charge. Mayor Libby Schaaf warned her constituents in February of an impending federal raid that targeted more than 1,100 undocumented immigrants but resulted in the arrests of only about 200.

“I mean, you talk about obstruction of justice, I would recommend that you look into obstruction of justice for the mayor of Oakland, California, Jeff,” Trump said, gesturing toward Sessions. The attorney general did not respond, and sat expressionless as the president made his comments.

Trump’s remarks came during a White House roundtable discussion with close to 20 California elected officials and law enforcement officers who favor tougher immigration enforcement standards in their state and have all taken stands against the California Values Act, otherwise known as the “sanctuary state” law.

Sessions, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, the acting head of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Thomas Homan, and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) were among the federal officials in attendance at the meeting.

“She informed them, and they all fled — or most of them fled — and that whole operation, that took a long time to put together,” Trump said. “To me, that’s obstruction of justice. And perhaps the Department of Justice can look into that, with respect to the mayor. Because it’s a big deal out there, and a lot of people are very angry about what happened. There was a lot of hard work and a lot of danger involved. And that was a terrible thing.”

Trump has previously accused Schaaf of obstructing justice by interfering with the raid, but Wednesday marked the first time he directly implored the nation’s top law enforcement official to contemplate legal action against the mayor.

The Democratic Oakland mayor said in February she intended to quell rising panic and help “law-abiding” immigrant communities in her town who were hearing rumors of such impending ICE raids in their communities. An ICE spokesman in the region resigned his post in the aftermath of the event, citing what he called fabrications about the events surrounding Schaaf by Homan.

Libby Schaaf, former Oakland mayor, announces 2026 run for California treasurer

OAKLAND – Former Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf announced Thursday that she has launched a campaign to run for California state treasurer in 2026.

“I know how to couple progressive values with fiscal responsibility,” Schaaf said in a statement. “As California’s Treasurer, I’ll bring my experience and passion to invest in a safe and sustainable future for all Californians.”

A native of Oakland, Schaaf was first elected to the Oakland City Council in 2010. She was elected as the 50th mayor of Oakland in 2014 and won re-election by double-digits in 2018.

In her statement, Schaaf noted multiple accomplishments as mayor, including the creation of the city’s first rainy day fund and raising Oakland’s credit rating to its highest on record.

Schaaf’s tenure was marked by contrasts. While the homicide rate dropped during her first five years in office, rates of gun violence and murders rose in her final years as mayor. Along with crime, housing and homelessness continued to be persistent problems. The video player is currently playing an ad. “You know, I always tell little kids who ask, ‘What’s it like being the mayor of Oakland?’ it’s the highest highs and lowest lows,” Schaaf said in December 2022, during her final news conference as mayor. “There are moments of just unbelievable joy, like riding in that first Warriors’ victory parade and seeing just the beauty of Oakland on full display. And there are moments of unbelievable tragedy and grief, like presiding over the Ghost Ship tragedy.”

After leaving office, Schaaf served as the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s appointee to the Metropolitan Transpiration Commission and Bay Area Housing Finance Authority. Schaaf has also taught at the UC Berkeley School of Public Policy.

In her campaign announcement, Schaaf noted multiple endorsements, including from former Sen. Barbara Boxer, state Sen. Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) and Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin.

If elected, Schaaf would succeed current Treasurer Fiona Ma, who is running for Lieutenant Governor in 2026.
