My late friend, Hollis Williams, wanted me to start going to Mass with him. On his birth certificate it says “Homelessness” was once of the causes of his death.
Pope Francis continues to prove why he deserves every word of Time Magazine’s “Person Of The Year” title. His latest humble initiative is no exception. On Tuesday, the pope invited three homeless men (one of which had a dog) to attend mass and celebrate his 77th birthday with him!
Invited by the Holy See official in charge of alms-giving, the three men attended Francis’ mass. Mentioning them one by one during his homily, Francis struck a modest note as he reflected on people’s roles in the world. He reflected:
“Let the Lord write our history.”
