The Resurrection Goes On Trial

Queen Berenice and her brother were into ritual cleanliness, and thus would not have a man who tortured and murdered women in their presence – least count on his opinions of the resuscitation that a sect of the Pharisees had long believed in. Berenice might consult her kindred, Philo, who was alive when Jesus was alive, but never mentions him. Philo was very interested in quirky Judaic beliefs, thus, he would have been all over the resuscitation of Lazarus from the dead – by Jesus!

Pontius Pilate takes a keen interest in the resurrection of the dead, he for sure knowing about Lazarus. Thus, when Jesus disciples come to him on this matter – he gives the Apostles his full support. Oops! Did I say Apostles? What I meant was “the chief priest and the Pharisees” who asked Pilate for his seal in order to seal the tomb of Jesus…
