‘Capturing Beauty – An Art Book’

Chapter One

The New Path of the New Brother-Sisterhood

For over a year I have been hosting Terrible Regrets, the foremost being……Why didn’t I purchase an old Brownie camera at the Goodwill Store, and ten roles of film so I could have taken photos of her with some of the most beautiful scenery in the world in the background? The image of my muse seen above graced a poster for Oktoberfest at the University of Nebraska.

“Who took this photo. Were you completely naked? Did he take  a lot of pictures? Would you have posed nude for me if I had a camera?”

When I explain to you why Rena and I were the New Adam, and New Eve, than you will let go an ironic chuckle for I did not say Adam&Eve, because, this is after The Fall, and we have gone our separate ways. Oh, and it is 1970, and this bright seventeen year old beauty has been devouring literature on the Women’s Movement.

“No!” Rena said.

“Why?” I whimpered.

“Because………you were my lover!”

Everything that has occurred in my life, hence, revolves around this question;

“Did she say “Because we were lovers”?

This is key, because it was a matter of who captured whom? You see, it was HER BEAUTY, not mine. And I am not allowed to do what I will with her beauty. If it is her desire to go capture the hearts and souls of other men, other artists and photographers, with HER BEAUTY,  then – so be it! What business is it of mine?

The other Great Regret I entertain, is;

“Why didn’t you respond to her five page letter with just two paragraphs that basically asks what the weather is like in Montana. Instead, I wrote her  a four act drama where I pour out my heart. Five days later I get a call from Deputy Sheriff Dan who informs me Rena has filed a stalking charge against me and I am not to contact her ever again. Dan and I chit-chatted for a half hour. We were both mystified as to why my muse was so upset.

“Frankly, I saw nothing in your letter that was threatening!”

“Wait a minute. You said she showed you my letter and it was torn into little pieces.”

“Right, but she rewrote it from memory! She also rewrote the letter she sent you, from memory.”

“WHAT!! Are you kidding me. Don’t you think this is extremely strange, that you are calling me from another state on official Sheriff business, after reading two phantom letters? How do you know she has such an incredible memory. How do you know she is not a speed-freak tweeking out – and making stuff up?”

There was a long silence from this young law enforcement dude, and I had sympathy for him. Rena and I had not laid eyes on each other in forty-four years, I knew she was still ‘A Looker’, and Dan’s jaw dropped when the automatic glass door flew open late one night, and in whooshed ‘She Who Must Be Obeyed’, and threw down a used paper bag full of my undying love for her. I knew, and Dan now, know, very few men have denied her. For Christ-sake she became a professional ballerina, and she came into Dan’s county cop-shop, on point, doing my Black Swan Song! I was – FINIS!

“This, miscreant, tried to capture me – yet again! This time as some old wizard – NOT!

I want to take out a restraining order.”

Dan now got a clue this was some kind of art-happening. He did know what a muse was.

When I first beheld Rena I beheld the Face of God. Here is God in Female Form. To even hint I wanted to capture her image with a camera, was, like snapping-off fifty really great photos of a UFO, and when you get them developed, there is some dirty biker dude flipping you the bird. So, in the fifty days we spent camping together, I was only allowed to adore her, worship her, make her bacon and eggs on our campfire. Serving ‘God’s Daughter’ was a privilege she afforded me because I saved her, at two in the morning when I went walking by the sea.

When I read ‘Holy Blood, Holy Grail’, the book that Dan Brown ripped-off, I had no problem with the idea that Jesus had a lover, a wife, and then a daughter, because The Son of God would not be able to resist her, if she came at him out of a dark doorway, and asked;

“Can I walk with you?”

If Rena had walked with Jesus, there would not exist four gospels, a consortium of collected guesses and doubt. There would just be….. ‘The Book of Rena’.

In her letter, Rena says she has committed to memory a million poems that she recites while she works. She gauges whether she is having a good day,  or bad, by not making a mistake! One word out of place will ruin her day – and week! The Great Scribes are shamed by her memory.

The next mistake I made was not informing Rena I was writing a book, called ‘The Book of Rena’ in my letter that was to be the Genesis of my book, that in truth is an autobiography titled ‘Capturing Beauty’ began in 2001. I regret not sending her my phone number, because what I expected was a long written exchange between Artist-Writer, and his Muse.  Rena could have called me and informed me of my alleged flaw, my literary blemish, and I would have CORRECTED HER. Everything – but that – will be revealed!

Then, I caught Rena in lie, on day forty-two of our fifty days in Paradise. She told me she had a scholarship to the University of Nebraska, and thus she must go home. She was a straight A student, and was skipped a grade. I did the math on top of our mountain.

“Rena. You are not eighteen, are you?”

The age of consent in Nebraska, is seventeen. In California it is eighteen. For a month I have been giving this beautiful child lessons on the Indian religion, and she was asking good questions. Now, I felt fatherly. I had no children. I was twenty-four. To heighten the tension, I was homeless. Rena did not mind being homeless with me. She had fallen in love with me when I asked her a question on a Santa Barbara beach. When she stopped in a store to see if it was her sister on the cover of a magazine, I learned her three older sisters were models. Se was told she was chosen for the cover, but got bumped. I now knew I was over my head. I believe Rena’s sister is in this flock of birds, the Nereids. When I saw Rena in her Bikini on Pismo Beach, I knew I had arrived – on Mount Olympus.

Above is a photo of THE PATH I took long ago after dropping a hefty dose of LSD with two friends. Twenty years later I go for a reading at the Berkley Psychic Institute at the insistence of my first lover, Marilyn Reed. Sitting before are two young Seers, a woman about twenty-two says this;

“You own your own creation. You died!”

Since 1987 I have been searching for the proof of this. Since Memorial Day, I found it in the article about Brett Weston, Carol Williams, and the executor of my sister’s creative legacy, Sydney Morris. Then, I found Charles King and his mountain – that in theory I stand upon, all alone, because this mountain was made for me to climb. You see, I figured out what Jesus wrote in the sand, and why they cast lots for his valuable robe. Rena says she has been a janitor and a recluse. Under her humble bed down in the boiler room, is a sword named.

EXCALIBUR

Then, there is the Holy Grail I found in my friend Virginia’s genealogy. When my sixteen year old daughter came into my life for the first time, I made the mistake of telling her and her mother what the Seer said, because they used this to make me out to be insane and take all they could from me.

Below are photographs of my boat I owned in 1968. I lived aboard this vessel I neglected to name in a harbor on the Oakland estuary about a quarter of a mile from Jack London Square, and where Jack docked his boat. There is a drawing pad on my bed where I did drawings of Atlantis that my future wife raved about. Having no television, I got out art books from the Oakland Library. One of these books was on the Pre-Raphaelites.

Two days after my fall on the dramatic and beautiful rocks at McLure’s Beach, around eight members of the Brotherhood of Eternal Love came to see me. They wanted me to take LSD with them, which I did. The next day one member came back to ask me;

“What do you want?”

“I want to paint again. I was an artist.”

Robert took me to see his friend at the Berkeley Art Supplies store, and told Tim Scully to supply me with all that I need. Tim’s sister had gotten down on one knee and asked;

“What do you want?”

“I’m thirsty. I would like a glass of water, please!”

Nicky Scully went into the kitchen and returned with crystal goblets on a silver tray.

Peter Shapiro called me two weeks ago, and we talked about our friends dying. His sister Mary died four days later, and, his dog, Dogananda. We had talked about the first Dogananda that belonged to Chris Wandel. We came to own her son, Humphry Dogart. Peter and I lived in a house in Oakland where I did my infamous painting of Rena – that launched a thousand Rosamond prints.

I became s New Pre-Raphaelite because I was in search of a Spiritual Path that incorporated Art. I became a follower of Meher Baba after I moved in with ‘The Loading Zone’ and saw a photo of him on the wall.   The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood reborn religious messages in art. They were inspired by the Nazarene Artists of Germany who let their hair grow long after the Nazarites. Though I had long hair, I let it grown even longer.

My daughter and her lover called me a “parasite” on society three years ago, and took my grandson out of my life. Heather told me I was insane. Yesterday I found the magazine ‘The New Path’ written by members of the American Pre-Raphaelites. Their counterparts in England published ‘The Germ’. This blog is an aspect of my newspaper, Royal Rosamond Press, named after my grandfather who published his own magazine ‘Bright Stories’. I am on SSI, I live on $700 hundred dollars a month. I am giving my stories and novels away, showing them to the world, for free. I have not made a dime. I get no funding like others do. I am not a parasite. I am ‘A Giver’. I give back to the world what God gave to me.

After the young Seer told me I had died, there was a long silence in the room. A guide in the back of the room recording my reading, said this;

“Are we in heaven? Is this proof there is a heaven?”

It was a two hour reading. When I left, I was given a cassette tape. When I played it, there was nothing but static. I wondered if the Seers had done this. Or, the entity they spoke of. UFO stories go like this.

In my portrait you see slivers of electrical energy all around me. My sister wanted to do her first male portrait and asked if she could take photos of me in her studio. My friend, Brian Purvis was there with his camera and he snapped off a roll, too. When Christine got both rolls developed, she freaked. She did not do a painting of me. Consider Rena’s incredible beauty. She hid her incredible memory, her beautiful mind, from me – and the world – because, it is overwhelming! Today, we have few friends. In her letter Rena says;

“You will be proud of me. Alas I have a couple of friends.”

She only now has friends, because she got old. Her beauty intimidated the hell out of me. I am sure no women could stand to be in her presence.

When I got Rena’s letter last year, that she wrote on Christmas Day, I sobbed. Because she lied to me. She told me she was still married and was going to make her husband Christmas dinner. She spent all day composing that letter wherein every letter stands perfectly alone, not one attached to another. But what truly overcame me were the three words she began her Christmas letter with;

“Here I am.”

The title of my theological book on the Nazarites is ‘Where art thou?” These three words are the first God speaks to Adam and Eve. Rena was responding to a blog on my grandfather’s story he wrote about Montana, where Rena lives. Ten years ago I learned Rena had married a British Admiral and was living on the Isle of Wright. I would go there, in my daydreams upon learning she was a widow. I would play Enya’s song ‘If I Could Be Where You Are’ as I envisioned our wedding day at the Cathedral of the Souls. I ask the question. She answers. I turn, I hold out my hand. Here come the bride.

“Here I am.”

Rena! Come stand with me……………on Lonely Mountain!

The New Path was a short-lived but significant journal published in New York by the Society for the Advancement of Truth in Art. The society and its journal espoused the aesthetic principles of John Ruskin and the English Pre-Raphaelite movement. The journal is of interest for its content and provides an example of one of the earlier art journals published in the United States. (Description courtesy U-Wisconsin Library.)

Publication History

The New Path ran from May 1863 to December 1865.

In my literary endeavors, and in the union of Garth Benton, and Christine Rosamond Benton, we have a new Pre-Raphaelite Craftsman movement in the world. My contribution parallels that of Michael Rossetti who published a newspaper for creative people called ‘The Germ’. It was my dream, as I rendered Grail-like people on my father’s old cabinet radio, that one day I and my siblings would be like the Rossetti family.

The women in Christine’s painting ‘The Story Teller’ could be sitting in front of Garth’s mural in Bob Hope’s home. Here are the New Pre-Raphaelite Women in a decorative setting similar to the one William Morris created that would become the Arts and Crafts movement. Morris was a big influence on J.R. Tolkien – the great story teller – who created another world that many thousands of people have retreated to, never to return.

Jessie and Susan Benton held salons in San Francisco and Paris. Joaquin Miller worshipped John Fremont, the husband of Jessie, and brother-in-law of Susan, whose son was a famous “painter of fair women”. Garth was the cousin of the famous muralist, Thomas Hart Benton. This is an Artistic Dynasty that was successfully involved in politics. John was a co-founder of the Republican Party and its first candidate for President.
Fremont emancipated the first slaves in America which suggest Miller changed his views on slavery. Joaquin had dinner at Dante Gabriel Rossetti’s house where other Pre-Raphaelites were present. Juanita put on a play where her late father was surrounded by Pre-Raphaelites.

Christine was not aware she was related to Philip Boileau when she died in 1994, nor was anyone she knew. I came upon the ‘Painter of Fair Women’ when doing our family genealogy. What my discovery does is raise my sister out of the commercial morass her fledging gift was cast into by those who beheld dollar signs dancing around the heads of the beautiful women she rendered – like cherubs from hell!
Philip was the son of Susan Benton the sister of Jessie Benton. Both sisters lived in Paris. They held salons in this capital of European culture, and in Newark and San Francisco. If there is such a thing as a creative celestial salon for Artists and Poets who have left the planet, then here is a list of kindred souls who have left a great part of themselves behind.

Shannon Rosamond, Drew Benton, and myself, are alive and rendering works of art and writing poetry. Being creative is the family strategy for survival. In the spriti of the Benton sisters, let us consider our kindred a living Benton salon where our children of the future will come for inspiration.

It is extremely rare that two women who bare the name Rosamond and Rosemond on their birth certificate would become big players in the Art World, along with family members. Christine Rosamond Benton, and Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, are distant cousins who share the same great grandfather, James Rosamond.

What is profound two Rosemond sisters married Liz’s grandfather, and uncle, both who were famous art dealers. Liz’s uncle, Francis Marion Taylor, married Elizabeth Mary Rosemond. Francis had a gallery in the Elysee Chateau, where many Hollywood Stars resided, and later in the Beverley Hills Hotel, where Marilyn Monroe lived. Howard had a gallery in the Pierre Hotel in New York, and was a good friend of President Dwight Eisenhower.

Christine Rosamond Benton had two galleries in Carmel, and was a partner with an advisor for the Getty family who were friends of the artist, Garth Benton, the cousin of the artist, Thomas Hart Benton. Garth is the daughter of my artistic niece, Drew Benton. Jessie and Susan Benton, had salons in San Francisco and Paris. We are looking at a Artistic Dynasty.
Also of interest, there is a Francis Marion Rosamond who was named after Francis Marion, the ‘Swamp Fox’.

“My grandfather’s cousin, Leonard “Lenn” Duckworth married Jessie N. Rosemond, daughter of Morton M. Rosemond aka Moses Rosemond and Martha Lakes/Lokes, on 28 Dec 1891 in Sangamon Co., IL. Jessie’s siblings were Elizabeth M. Rosemond b. abt 1868, who married Frank Taylor 27 Feb 1890 in Sangamon Co., Frank Rosemond b. abt 1873, OH, and Mabel Rosemond, b. abt. 1878, who married S. Howard Young 13 Nov 1900 in Sangamon Co.” –Emily Moore

Christine and Elizabeth can trace their roots to the Ozark Mountains in Missouri where my grandfather, Frank Wesley Rosamond lived, and where he wrote several novels, short stories, and poems that appeared in Otto Rayburn’s magazine ‘Arcadian Life’. Royal Reuben Rosamond (Frank’s pen name) founded his own publishing company, Gem Publishing. In 1997 I founded Royal Rosamond Press Co. that is listed in Lane County Oregon as a publishing company. I am the President of my own newspaper.

“Mr. and Mrs. Sam S. Warmbrodt had moved by this time to the Ozark regions of Missouri because of his health.”

Elizabeth Taylor’s father owned several galleries. Elizabeth Mary Rosemond Taylor’s sister, Mabel Rosemond, married Howard Young, a art dealer who purchased European Art for American Oil Tycoons he often played poker with. The four Rosamond sisters were child models. Rosemary and Lillian dated the actor, Errol Flynn.

Mrs. E. M. Taylor’s sister (Mabel Rosemond) had married Howard Young, a famous artist who had galleries in St. Louis, then New York, and London.
The war was devastating Europe in 1939 and found Francis and Sara Southern Taylor, both American nationals, running an art gallery in England for Francis’ multimillionaire uncle, Howard Young, a well-known dealer with an important gallery in New York. To avoid the growing conflict, Francis Taylor sent his wife and two children home to America while he remained behind to close out his uncle’s business. They visited briefly in Arkansas City before going to Pacific Palisades, near Hollywood where the Warmbrodt family was then living. In a few weeks Howard joined his family and opened his own art gallery in Los Angeles.”

Christine Rosamond Presco was discovered and promoted by Ira Cohen, of Ira Roberts Art Gallery on Lacienaga in Los Angeles. Christine married Garth Benton, the cousin of the famous artist, Thomas Hart Benton, and in 1986 she became partners with Lawrence Chazen in the Crossroads Arty Gallery in Carmel. This was the first Rosamond gallery. Chazen was a financial advisor of J.Paul Getty, and was a partner in the Plump/Jack resturant chain, along with the Nancy Pelosi family, and ex-mayor of San Francsico, Gavin Newsom. The Getty family amassed one of the largest art collections in the world. The Getty Museum overlooks the City of Angels. Garth Benton and my niece, Shannon Benton Sidel rendered the beautiful murals found in the Getty Villa. Chazen is a CEO of Noble Oil who will restart the drilling for black gold in the Gulf.

I would like to establish the New Rosamond Gallery in Portland ‘The Rose City’, or in Santa Barbara. I have founded a new blog where I will tap artists to show their work online.

Is it by chance that Christine Rosamond Benton, and Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor have two men in their immediate branch with the name FRANCIS MARION and MARION FRANCIS? Were these men named after Francis Marion ‘The Swamp Fox’ who Mel Gibson played in the movie ‘The Patriot’? My great grandfather, James Rosamond, and his brother, Samuel Rosamond, fought the British in South Carolina. Did they encounter the despicable Tarleton seen in the images above?

Christine Rosamond Benton could own the title New Pre-Raphaelite Artist, and my family could be carrying on a renowned creative tradition, but the Non-Artists have had their day, and the Beauty that has been awoken, has been ravaged, forsaken, and put out in the street. The destructive Orcs, and gallery gargoyles, have had a field day, and now guzzle down their rancid brew, and vomit up a doomsday.

Princess Rosamond is Sleeping Beauty, her kingdom the subject of Edward Burnes-Jones the Pre-Raphaelite who inspired Tolkien’s Tale of the Ring. So did all the Brothers.

Scene 1: The Briar Rose: The Briar Wood

In the original study for The Briar Wood some of the knights appear to be more feminine than masculine. Burne-Jones modelled the knights from women: Jane Morris, Georgiana (his wife), and Maria Zambaco, the Greek beauty who later became his paramour.

Morris and Co. designs often were created for one medium and then adapted and modified for another. Edward Burne-Jones designed a set of nine two-tile Sleeping Beauty panels for a bedroom fireplace at ‘The Hill’, the home of painter Myles Birket Foster in the 1860s.

Ten years later, he developed a series of three small paintings, and then four larger works that he worked on intermittently from 1870 to 1890. The series was displayed with verses by William Morris. Unlike the fairy tale tales painted for ‘The Hill’, the Briar Rose series does not tell a sequential story but shows the sleepers as seen by the prince as he makes his way through the castle to The Rose Bower.

“Many men say that there is nothing in dreams but fables and lies,
but one may have dreams which are not decietful, whose import becomes
quite clear afterward.”

Thus begins the ‘Romaunt of the Rose’ by Chaucer, that ends thus…

“The ending of the tale you see
The Lover draws anigh the tree,
And takes the branch, and takes the rose,
That love and he so dearly chose.”

My daughter Heather was born on Rosemary’s Birthday, September 26,
1984. Eighteen months ago she was introduced to me by an angel, in a
dream. A month ater we would meet for the first time, she just
turning sweet sixteen. She never met her grandmother, Rosemary, or
her aunt,Christine, the world renouned artist, Rosamond, they passing
away before this rose, this branch of the family could be found.

When I was twenty three I let my hair grow long after the Nazarite
Artists of Germany a group who would inspire Dante Gabriel Rossetti
to form the Pre-Raphaelite Artists of Great Britain. Fair Rosamond
and the Romaunt of the Rose was an inspriration to the Pre-
Raphaelites, who like the Nazarite Artists, were bringing back a
religious theme to Art. Both groups drew upon Arthurian and Grail
legends that have been recently been linked to the Knight Templars
who are said to have been Nazarites, and who worshipped John the
Baptist, a Nazarite for life.

Rossetti did a painting of Rosamond, and Edward Burne-Jones did two,
not counting his ‘Briar Rose’ series who was named Rosamond by Grimm
in his tale of ‘Sleeping Beauty’, who I identify as the sleeping
goddess, Ariadne. King Henry built a bower and Labyrinth for Fair
Rosamond, that might have been used to initiate the Templars into an
ancient Hermetic teaching. Lord Tennyson includes her in his poem ‘A
Dream of Fair Women’, and Swinburne wrote an epic poem titled ‘The
Queen Mother and Rosamond’.

Gautheir de Coste Calprenede makes Rosamonde the paramour of
Pharamond King of the Long-haired Franks. Swinburne wrote a similar
work about another paramour of the Merovinians titled ‘Chronicle of
Fredegond,Rosamond’. Pharamond descends from Fromond, a name that
appears twice in a branch of the Rougemont/Rosemont genealogy, and
are the Lords of Neufchatel who become the De La Roche family, also
known as De La Rosa, a name born of the Rock and the Rose. Our Dreams
have come true.

Christine Rosamond Presco, a ‘Rose of the World’ was born October 24,
1947 in Vallejo California. Christina was the third child of Victor
and Rosemary, our mother one of four beautiful daughters born to the
writer and poet, Royal Rosamond, and Mary Magdalene Wieneke. Royal
and Mary met in Los Angeles where Mary went to live after leaving her
father’s farm in Iowa. Seeking her independance, as a young woman
Mary worked as a seamtress in Downtown L.A. The Wienekes were said to
have owned castles in Germany. Mary was a frequent guest at
Krishnamurti’s retreat in the Ojai Valley where her brother had a
farm and may have delved in the philosophy of the Theosophic Society.
Royal wrote stories for ‘Out West’ the ‘Arcadian’ and several Romance
magazines, he sailing to the Anacapa Islands with is friend, Dashiel
Hammet, the author of the ‘Maltese Falcon’, a mystery novel that was
made into a movie about the search for a golden falcon once belonging
to the Knights Templars. Royal taught Earl Stanley Gardner the
rudiments of writing. Royal’s poem ‘Your Name’ could well acompany
Rossetti’s painting of the young man writing his lover’s name in the
sand.

Living by the sea in Ventura California, Rosemary, and her sister,
Lillian, were courted by the famous actor, Errol Flyn, thus, there
was a powerful sense of the Romantic in our household that would
influence both Christine’s and my work. All the Rosamond women were
beautiful, they the arhetypes for the rosy women that began to peer
gracefully from their canvases in the early seventies at a changing
world, their beauty and strength heralding in the Woman’s Movement,
the very idea women could now own their own Creation and Creations.
In the words of Swineburne’s Fair Rosamond;

“But that I am
Part of the perfect witness for the world.”

My dear sister drowned off the Coast of Carmel on March 26,1994. The
legacy this complex person left behind is an important one as we were
both influenced by the Pre-Raphaelite artists who are at the core of
Grail Mysteries that have surfaced once again in the Quest for
Religious and Spiritual pertinence. The name Rosamond means ‘Rose of
the World’ and is one of the names applied to the Shekinah which is
the ‘Light of the World’ that I believe is found at the center of the
Labyrinth, like the one King Henry the second built for the love of
his life, Fair Rosamond. He also built a Well and Arcadia for her
after the story of Tristan and Isolde. A Grail Cup entwined in a vine
was engraved on her tomb. She has been compared to Mary Magdalene by
some authors, and a Catholic Bishop upon seeing how she was being
worshipped by Knights about to go on Crusade, had her remains removed
from the Nunnery at Glascow, and scattered to the wind; he calling
her a whore.

Christine gave me credit for being her teacher, my art touring the
world in a Red Cross show when I was twelve, and then again when I
was sixteen. In 1970 I discovered Dante Gabriel Rossetti and the Pre-
Raphaelite Brotherhood, they modeling their movement after the
Nazarene artists of Germany, a guild dedicated to bringing back a
spritual base to Germany’s fine art. The Rossetti family were all
gifted. Christina Rossetti was an extraordinary poet and was
considered a member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Her father
translated ‘Dante’s Inferno’ and owned a Publishing firm that her
brother Michael opperated. Dante was a close friend of the famous
poet, Algernon Swineburne, whose poem ‘The Queen Mother and Fair
Rosamond’ became a model and inspiration for all the Pre-Raphaelites
who resurected themes from the Grail Romances, breathing new life
into the Knights and Fair Maidens of our Ancient Dawn, raising a new
light in the search for the Truth.

Tomorrow I will be meeting with my Muse, Belle, for the first time since we met at the first Friday Art Walk.

Today, I found my personal Grail at the Museum of History.

Elizabeth Eleanor Siddal (25 July 1829 – 11 February 1862) was an English artists’ model, poet and artist. She was painted and drawn extensively by artists of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, including Walter Deverell, William Holman Hunt, John Everett Millais (including his notable 1852 painting Ophelia) and her spouse, Dante Gabriel Rossetti. She featured prominently in Rossetti’s early paintings of women.

Named Elizabeth Eleanor Siddall, after her mother, ‘Lizzie’ Siddall was born on 25 July 1829, at the family’s home at 7 Charles Street, Hatton Garden. Her parents were Charles Crooke Siddall, who claimed his family descended from nobility, and Eleanor Evans, from a family of English and Welsh descent. At the time of her birth, her father had a cutlery-making business but around 1831, her family moved to the borough of Southwark, in south London, a less salubrious area than Hatton Garden. In Southwark the rest of Lizzie Sidall’s siblings were born: Lydia, to whom she was particularly close, Mary, Clara, James and Henry. Although there is no record of Lizzie Siddall having attended school, she could read and write, presumably having been taught by her parents. She developed a love of poetry at a young age, after discovering a poem by Tennyson on a scrap of newspaper that had been used to wrap a pat of butter; the discovery was an inspiration to start writing her own poems.

The remedy for the Rosamond Identity Crisis is for everyone involved to accept the truth I am the source of much creativity. Christine did this, but, failed to come to an agreement with me. This is because I got in touch with the Akashic records. I was in touch with these records via my grandmother’s contact with Khrishnamurti and the Theosophic Society. Mary Magdalene Rosamond knew the women around Bisset who visited her and her four beautiful daughters. I was a Christ-like figure to my mother and two sisters. I was their ideal which caused problems with the men they mated with, including my father, who told my family I was not his son. In a way this is true, because I had two near-death experiences where I went beyond my Akashic records, and beheld the Master Truth of the Universe. Because I did that, people come into my being and take because I am their source they encounter on a mundane and even a spiritual plane that they are bound to by their silver chord. My chord broke, and I died.

Four days ago I talked with M and C about the idea of Ancient Alien Contacts. Both of them believe in such a thing. I discussed Rena with M, how she has a computer chip for a mind that can store much information.  A year after we parted I called her up to ask her for a photograph of her profile. She said this;

“I love you more from afar, then near.”

What she was saying is that we were Twin Souls sharing the Akashic records we tapped into on our mountain, and, it was much easier to got to the source without my presence which confused us both because we were sexually aroused by each other and wanted to own each others beautiful bodies so we can own each other’s beautiful souls.

To be in spirit is to be inspired. I was named after John the Baptist who was filled with the Spirit while in his mother’s womb. This is to say his Akashic record has already been activated before he is born. When he is named at eight days of age, he uses sign language, can write, and speaks. Who is John’s Muse? For ten years my feminine spirit downloaded much information while I slept. When I died I saw a great ship hovering on the horizon of the sea. I made a note of how it worked.

Taking a suggestion from M I watched a show titled ‘The Genius Factor’. Rena is a Genius.

Now that I have proven there was a secret meeting held in Christine Rosamond’s house, and that there exist a conspiracy to alter true events and conditions surrounding the drowning a famous artist, I can take My Story, and Storytelling almost anywhere, for what we have here is another Rosamond Legend.

Above is an image of Rosamond’s Tower at Westenhanger Castle, where a replica of the ‘Discovery’ is at rest. Legend has it that Rosamond Clifford secretly met with King Henry. This was one of the trysting places. There is a statue of Pocahontas as a mermaid because she befriended and married, John Smith, a descendant of a Lord of Westenhager, who sailed to America. Can it be said John carried the legend of Fair Rosamond with him, and, he sought a Fair Maiden in the New World to replant the Never Ending Story of a trysting place?

Walt Disney and I have some things in common, and, I have every intention of exploiting the True Dream.

  • February 15, 1985: The New Path: Ruskin and the American Pre-Raphaelites–an exhibition of 128 drawings, watercolors and oil paintings by the American Pre-Raphaelites and their contemporaries, will open at The Brooklyn Museum on March 29 and be on view through June 10, 1985. The New Path rediscovers a little-known and fascinating chapter of 19th century American art history.Organized by Linda S. Ferber, Chief Curator and Curator of American Paintings and Sculpture, The Brooklyn Museum; and William H. Gerdts, Executive Officer of the Ph.D. Program in Art History at the City University of New York, the exhibition and catalog will trace the brief but lively existence of the Association f or the Advancement of Truth in Art. Founded in New York early in 1863 by a small company, including a group of artists, the Association’s agenda was nothing less than the complete reform of American art and architecture, as they made clear in their pugnacious little magazine The New Path. The proposed reform of American art was based upon principles of truth to nature expounded by the influential English art critic John Ruskin and–in the opinion of the Association–demonstrated in the brilliantly colored and highly detailed paintings of the English Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. The English movement was a model for these American Pre-Raphalites, as they were known, who included expatriate English painter Thomas C. Farrer, John Henry Hill, John William Hill, Charles Herbert Moore, Henry R. Newman and William T. Richards. They practiced a compulsively detailed manner of drawing and painting landscape and still life that was radical even by current standards of truth to nature in the contemporaneous paintings of Durand, Church and others and which generated a good deal of critical controversy fueled by the fiery prose of The New Path.This exhibition brings together for the first time in this century the drawings, watercolors and paintings of this little-known circle. Painted primarily in the 1860s and 1870s, American Pre-Raphaelite landscapes and still life paintings are immediately distinguishable by a peculiar brilliance in combination with a linear precision of treatment producing a pristine, nearly surreal vision. The works by the artist-members of the Association and their circle are complemented in the exhibition by a selection of still life, landscape and figure paintings by artists generally better known today such as Durand, Church, Bierstadt, Heade and John G. Brown, whose work was demonstrably touched by some of these same Ruskinian impulses although their paintings did not satisfy the stringent criteria of The New Path. From the perspective of historical distance a visual survey of all these works nevertheless will reveal a strong correspondence which suggests that the botanical and geological specificity, brilliant palette and sharp focus associated with theRuskinian approach had a wider influence onmid-19th century American painting than the American Pre-Raphaelites or their opponents might have recognized or acknowledged. While their heyday was short and their numbers small, a distinctive body of work was created by the American Pre-Raphaelites–a body of work which was both a part of and apart from the mainstream ofmid-19th century American painting and which attracted both champions and critics.A symposium dealing with theRuskinian circle and its influence will be held in the auditorium of the neighboring Brooklyn Botanic Garden on April 20. A fully illustrated catalog is available ($21.20 members; $24.95 non-members) including contributions by Linda S. Ferber; William H.Gerdts; Katherine A. Foster, Curator, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts; and Susan P.Casteras, Curator, Yale University British Art Center as well as a full record of the artists and works in the exhibition. The exhibition will travel to the Museum of Fine Arts Boston (July 3-September 8, 1985).The exhibition was made possible in part by the National Endowment for the Arts. In theosophy and anthroposophy, the Akashic records (a term coined in the late 1800s from akasha, the Sanskrit word for “sky”, “space”, “luminous”, or “æther“) are a compendium of thoughts, events, and emotions believed by Theosophists to be encoded in a non-physical plane of existence known as the astral plane. There is no scientific evidence for existence of the Akashic records.[1][2]

Akasha is a Sanskrit word meaning “sky”, “space”, “luminous”, or “æther”, and it entered the language of theosophy through H. P. Blavatsky (1831-1891), who characterized it as a sort of life force; she also referred to “indestructible tablets of the astral light” recording both the past and future of human thought and action, but she did not use the term “akashic”.[3] The notion of an akashic record is attributed to Alfred Percy Sinnett, who, in his book Esoteric Buddhism (1884), wrote of a Buddhist belief in “a permanency of records in the Akasa” and “the potential capacity of man to read the same.”[4][3] By C. W. Leadbeater‘s Clairvoyance (1899) the association of the term with the idea was complete, and he identified the akashic records by name as something a clairvoyant could read.[3] According to Marshal McKusick, former professor of Anthropology at the University of Iowa, the term Akashic record was created by Rudolf Steiner.[5]
