There are very few Artist Dynasties in the history of mankind. By simply going to google, and spending thousands of hours searching, I found my family is such a dynasty. My enemies, including my daughter, her lover, and her family did not research, and fought me all the way.
My kindred were members of the Swan Brethren who worshipped ‘Our Sweet Lady’. Erasmus called this worship a heresy. In Bosch’s ‘Wedding Feast at Cana you see members of the Swan Brethren hovering around Jesus and our Sweet Lady. These are my kindred. It is not very often you see real modern (at the time) people in a portrait of Jesus and his mother. But, is she his mother?
When the Knight Templars were arrested in England, they were brought to Clifford Castle, also called Clifford’s Tower, and York Castle. Did Rosamond Clifford reside in this tower? It has been suggested Rosamond was worshipped by knights about to go on Crusade and they gave her the name Rosamund meaning the Rose of the World. The Clifford family took the Lancastrian side in the War of the Roses.
