Everyone fears a audit by the IRS, even the innocent! It is clear that many who surrounded Christine Rosamond feared they would get audited – on top of their fear she would commit suicide? Many people who get audited – kill themselves because they have something to hide – and fear they will go to Federal Prison. Garth and Christine had to be looking as suicide as a way out. But, who would take care of Drew?
Those who surrounded Christine, feared she would roll over on them, blame them for her not paying taxes. After all, they managed this mentally ill out of control alcoholic – and they are sober and sane! Is the IRS putting pressure on Christine to – TELL THE TRUTH – and not protect anyone?
When I called my brother in AA, and told him who I was he said he could not talk to me right then, but could in twenty minutes. Twenty five minutes later, the phone is busy. I wondered if he was on the phone with his wife, Christine’s sponsor in AA – who had to have heard my sister’s fears about going to jail for defrauding the IRS.
I then told this brother my mother said there was a party going on out at Rocky Point. Pierrot says the same thing in ‘When You Close Your Eyes’. The three women in Christine’s AA group told me her first sober birthday was “today” the day of the funeral that was held on Monday. Folks often celebrate on the weekend. I asked this brother if he knew of this sober celebration and he said “no”. He then offered this;
“I thought she had more sobriety that. I think she had eighteen months.”
I told this brother these women invited me to Christine’s home group, where I would share memories about my sister in AA.
“This would help bring closure for the people in this group.” this brother said.
I then waited for him to tell me the truth, that he and his wife were in Christine’s home AA group. I was informed of this by a man who joined the Rosamond yahoogroup. You usually chose a sponsor from your home group.
In 1972, when Christine became famous over night, she asked me to be her business manager. I told Christine I am not in touch with that form of reality. A neighbor who was a minister offered to become her manager, had just ripped her off.
When I was in Sacramento, I looked into partnerships at the California Chamber of Commerce. Christine had formed seven legal partnerships. How many did Garth form? Ten years before Christine died, folks went to jail for using art lithographs as tax write-offs. They would print a shit load of them, give them a value, and when they didn’t sell, use them as a tax write off. Christine and Garth had sixty million dollars worth of prints in their garage. If I was Christine’s partner, and I learned she was in trouble with the IRS, I would want to have a very private chat with her. How about you?
How many of these people did Christine successfully avoid, until they showed up out of the blue for the Sober Party. The Sheriff who retrieved my sister’s body, told me the main part of the house was open, and it was full of people – and there were around four children there! He mentioned a third sister, a woman who looked like my sisters. Who was she?
When I talked to Christine’s sponsor on the phone a month after the drowning she said;
“Stay out of it. This is lethal for people in recovery.”
“You’re not staying out of it, and your in recovery!”
I am now going to do what I should have done twenty years ago. I am going to get all the information I can about the IRS audit. I am going to get on the Money Trail, where this artistic legacy has been all along! Everyone got dirty – but me! Everyone compared notes – but me! Everyone is involved in a cover-up – but me!
