The Men In Her Life

“Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, the modern day Mona Lisa once said;
“I adore wearing gems, but not because they are mine. You can’t possess radiance,
you can only admire it.”

“Warhol took the photograph from an April 13, 1962 issue of Life magazine, which featured an article on Taylor. Describing her as a “storybook princess,” the article presented pictures of her from throughout her life, but with special emphasis on her husbands and lovers — the “princes” in the fairy tale.”

There are just a few hits on the internet that compare Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor to the Mona Lisa. Allow me to me one more. Andy Warhol is the most famous artist of our time. His images of Liz captures the paramount Beauty of the twentieth century. Liz is kin to Christine Rosamond Benton, the most famous female artist in the modern age. Both Warhol and Rosamond captured the image of beautiful women they tore from the pages of magazines. Elizabeth Taylor appeared on the cover of LIFE fourteen times. Warhol took images from the issue that had Liz and Richard Burton on the cover dressed as Cleopatra and Mark Anthony. Some genealogists claim the Merovingian Kings descend from Cleopatra, as do the Windsors.

Whatever, Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor is in the Peerage, as are all the folks above. The photographs of famous people – including Paris Hilton – are in the Peerage next to most of the royalty of the world, thanks to my kindred Rose of the World. Consider the Sleeping Beauty Princess named Rosamond.

Dame Rosemond is entitled to a coat of arms I might design.

Andy Warhol’s blotchy 1962 black-and- white painting of serially married movie star Elizabeth Taylor sold for $63.4 million last night at Phillips de Pury & Co. in New York, the second-highest price for the artist at auction.

Warhol’s “Men in Her Life’’ helped the Russian-backed auction house record its highest total, $137 million, as 52 of the 59 lots offered found buyers.k”Men In Her Life,” a 1962 painting by Andy Warhol depicting actress Elizabeth Taylor, sold for $63 million at Phillips de Pury & Co. in New York, becoming the second most expensive Warhol ever sold at auction.

“Men In Her Life,” a 1962 painting by Andy Warhol depicting actress Elizabeth Taylor, sold for $63 million at Phillips de Pury & Co. in New York, becoming the second most expensive Warhol ever sold at auction. kThe seven-foot-tall Warhol, based on a photo from Life magazine depicting a demure Taylor with third husband Mike Todd and future husband Eddie Fisher, had been estimated to sell for around $40 million, a tag some dealers said before the sale was ambitious. The price soared past the estimate in a battle between two telephone bidders.
“Two people wanted it — as simple as that,” said New York dealer Christophe Van de Weghe. “What a great way to kick off the week.”

Andy Warhol, Men in Her Life Men in Her Life is an outstandingly important work from one of the most significant and creative moments in Andy Warhol’s career. Made in the fall of 1962, arguably the artist’s breakthrough year, the picture is among his earliest silkscreen paintings, and it combines in one image many of the central themes of his oeuvre: celebrity, wealth, scandal, sex, death, Hollywood, icons of American life. The present painting, moreover, is one of only four works in the Men in Her Life series; it is one of only two of these works on a large-scale, multi-image format; and it is the largest of all the four pictures in the series. It is a work of great significance, fascination and beauty. The painting is based on a news photograph of Elizabeth Taylor walking with both her third husband Mike Todd, seen to the left, and her fourth husband Eddie Fisher, who is seen at the right with his then current wife Debbie Reynolds (fig 1). Warhol took the photograph from an April 13, 1962 issue of Life magazine, which featured an article on Taylor. Describing her as a “storybook princess,” the article presented pictures of her from throughout her life, but with special emphasis on her husbands and lovers —the “princes” in the fairy tale. Warhol used a total of three images from the article as the basis for different paintings; the other two photographs were pictures of her in National Velvet and in (and as) Cleopatra. The Men in Her Life pictures from 1962 were his first paintings of Taylor, one of his most iconic subjects, which he treated obsessively, for example in the Silver Liz series (fig 2). The photograph he used for Men in Her Life had been shot on June 5, 1957 at the English Derby at Epsom Downs in the United Kingdom. Taylor, Todd, Fisher and Reynolds were then best friends and at the height of international celebrity. Fisher had served as Todd’s best man at the wedding; Reynolds had served as Taylor’s matron of honor. At the time of the photograph, Taylor and Todd were on a trip to Europe, a combination honeymoon and publicity tour to promote the best-selling film he had produced, Around the World in Eighty Days. When the photograph was made, the two couples appeared to have every success: wealth, fame, privilege. Taylor was the highest paid actress in the world, and internationally famous for her stunning beauty (fig 3). Todd was in the course of making $29,000,000 in one year on his film. Fisher was a topselling pop singer, with a million-dollar-a-year endorsement contract from Coca-Cola. Reynolds was a leading actress and America’s sweetheart. They even seemed to enjoy the blessings of happy domestic life: at the time of the photograph, both Taylor and Reynolds were pregnant. But tragedy and scandal were just around the corner. Less than a year after the photograph was shot, Todd died in a crash in his private plane, The Liz. Always flashy, he had spent ten times more money on installing a lavish lilac-colored bourdoir in the plane than on updating its safety systems. It went down in a thunderstorm near Grants, New Mexico on March 22, 1958. He had just received the Showman of the Year award and was on his way to New York for a banquet. Taylor was supposed to have been on the plane, but had stayed home in Los Angeles with a bad cold. At his funeral, thousands of gawkers showed up to see Taylor grieving. They snacked on Coke and potato-chips and sat on the headstones in the cemetery during the burial, then attacked Taylor to snatch souvenirs, tearing away her veil, hat, and coat. She had to be rushed into a limousine for protection, which sped off as the mob started to pound on its windows. The sordid nightmare of the event was a national news story. One biography has summarized her life up to this point in the following terms. “Elizabeth Taylor, one of the most famous women in the world, had appeared in twenty-seven movies, had been married three times, was twice divorced, had three children by two husbands and was now a widow. She had just marked her twenty-sixth birthday”

Welcome to Burke’s Peerage and Gentry

Founded by John Burke in 1826, Burke’s Peerage is the definitive guide to the genealogical history of the royal families of Europe, the aristocratic and historical families of the British Isles, and the presidential families of the United States.

There are over 1 million names in more than 15,000 records including the royal families of Europe, the peerage and gentry of the United Kingdom, historical families of Ireland, and distinguished and presidential families of the United States, as well as many other prominent individuals.
The Merovingians

This bloodline and its offshoots includes a long line of pharaohs in ancient Egypt, including Rameses II (1295-1228 BC), who is considered to be the greatest pharaoh of all.

He was his country’s master architect (sacred geometry) and his name can be found on almost every ancient shrine. The gold mines of Nubia made him rich beyond the imagination. This bloodline also includes the extraterrestrial-human hybrids who ruled Sumer, Babylon, Greece, and Troy, and which, today, rule the world.

One common link in this bloodline is Philip of Macedonia (382-336BC),who married Olympias, and their son was Alexander the Great (356-323BC), a tyrant who plundered that key region of Greece, Persia, Syria, Phoenicia, Egypt, Babylon, the former lands of Sumer, and across into India before dying in Babylon at the age of 33.

During his rule of Egypt he founded the city of Alexandria, one the greatest centers for esoteric knowledge in the ancient world. Alexander was taught by the Greek philosopher, Aristotle, who in turn was taught by Plato and he by Socrates. The bloodline and the hidden advanced knowledge have always gone together.

This key bloodline comes down through the most famous Egyptian queen, Cleopatra (60-30BC), who married the most famous Roman Emperor, Julius Caesar, and bore him a son, who became Ptolemy XIV.
She also bore twins with Mark Anthony, who has his own connections to this line and its many offshoots
This bloodline also connects to Herod the Great, the “Herod” of the Jesus stories, and continues to the Roman Piso family who, as I explain in The Biggest Secret, wrote the Gospel stories and invented the mythical figure called Jesus!!
The same bloodline includes Constantine the Great, the Roman Emperor who, in 325AD, turned Christianity, based on his ancestors’ stories, into the religion we know today
King Ferdinand of Spain and Queen Isabella of Castile, the sponsors of Christopher Columbus, who instigated the horrific Spanish Inquisition (1478-1834) in which people were tortured and burned at the stake for in any way questioning the basis of the religion their various ancestors had created

The bloodline moved into France and northern Europe through the Franks and Meroveus or Merovee, who gave his name to the Merovingian bloodline, and it continues with the rest of the Merovingian clan like Clovis and the Dagoberts who connect into the elite secret society, the Priory of Sion and the Rennes-le-Chateau “mystery” in Languedoc [Provence], Southern France. Many books have been written recently which claim that the Merovingians are the bloodline of “Jesus”.

By 1915 the Taylors had moved to Arkansas City, Cowley County, Kansas, where they are all listed living together in Kansas’ Special State Census that year. His father became a traveling salesman by 1920 which was then most commonly known as a “Commercial Traveler”, which is how he is listed in the federal census that year. It’s very likely that Francis had first met his future wife Sarah Viola Warmbrodt in Arkansas City, since she was also living in that same city with her parents from 1900 to at least 1920. Since she was about fifteen months older then he, they must have gone to the same high school together. Her parents are said to have at first opposed the friendship, as she was a year ahead of him in school.

Francis next appears living in 1917/18 in St Louis, Missouri on his World War I Draft Registration Card, where he lists himself as “secretary to Howard Young”, who had married Mabel Rosemond (1880-1955), his mother’s younger sister. Francis’ uncle Howard Young (1878-1972), living in St Louis, had taken a small photography studio, and developed an art buying and selling business. He took Francis with him to be his secretary, but by 1920, Howard, Mabel and Francis had all relocated to New York City. Where that year, they are all living at 620 Fifth Avenue.

In 1922 Francis was living at 34 West 58th Street, while Howard and Mabel lived in the Carlton House. In Jul 1925 he is living at 634 Fifth Avenue. In Jul 1926 he is living at 55 55th Street. Meanwhile, Sarah, who had moved with her own parents to California, became a stage actress, using the name “Sara Sothern”. In one newspaper article from this time period it describes her as having been a resident of Lawndale, California. She played parts in various cities including extended work in New York City. Perhaps Francis and Sarah bumped into each other there again. However they managed to meet and court, they ended up getting married 23 Oct 1926 in New York City.

In Jul 1927, Francis and Sara Taylor are living at 55 55th Street. The family moved to London when Francis was transferred to manage Young’s London gallery. The exact date or even year is not yet known to me but on 4 Dec 1929, sailing from Southampton and arriving in New York City 12 Dec 1929 I find “Francis Lenn Taylor, born Springfield, Illinois 28 Dec 1897; Sara W Taylor, born Arkansas City, Kansas 21 Aug 1895; and Howard Francis Taylor, 5 months old, (birthplace not specified); Address in U.S.: Madison Hotel, New York City”

On 9 Dec 1930, sailing from Southampton and arriving in New York City, I find: “Francis Taylor, Sara, and Howard” all then living at “2 East 70th Street, New York City”. On 19 Jul 1934 sailing from Southampton, arriving in New York City, I find: “Francis Taylor, Sarah, Howard and Elizabeth” all then living at “677 5th Avenue, New York City”.

Evidently their oldest child Howard was born in London, and this is how their daughter Elizabeth Taylor came to be born in London a few years after Howard.

On 20 Nov 1936, sailing from Southampton, arriving in New York City : “Francis Taylor, Sarah, Howard born 27 Jun 1929 London, and Elizabeth born 27 Feb 1932 London” then living at “2 E 70th Street, New York City”. On 21 Oct 1939, sailing from Southampton, arriving in New York City, Francis Taylor, born in Springfield 1897, living at 1 E 57th St, New York City”.

Just before the start of World War II, they moved again to Los Angeles, California in or around 1939, where Francis ran an art gallery in Beverly Hills. In the 1946 California Voter’s Registration in Beverly Hills I find : “Francis L Taylor, Mrs Sara S Taylor, 703 N Elm Dr” both listed as Republican. They are still listed there through 1954, still both listed as Republican. In Apr 1958, Francis and Sara went together to London for a month. Francis died in his sleep, 20 Nov 1968 “at his Bel Air home” and is buried in Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery, Westwood, California.

Howard Young starting out with a photography studio, became a wealthy art dealer, hobnobbing with the rich and famous. Today he is forgotten except for his minor claim to fame of being the great-uncle of Elizabeth Taylor

Stephen Howard Young, who sometimes went by S Howard Young, or just Howard Young, was born in Belle Center, Ohio, on 22 May 1878 the eldest child of Philip Young and his wife Mary Funk. A late biography or perhaps obituary states that he “left his home at the age of 10 to make his way in the world” which of course is nonsense. It is true however, that he started young in the art of photography. However the idea that he amassed a fortune of $400,000 and then lost it, is again nonsense.

He married Mabel Rosemond in 1900, whose sister had married Francis Taylor. Francis Taylor and Elizabeth Rosemond, had a son also called Francis Taylor who was the father of the actress Elizabeth Taylor. Thus Howard Young and Mabel Rosemond, were her great-uncle and great-aunt. They moved to St Louis, Missouri where in the World War I Draft Registration of Francis Taylor we find that he lists himself as “secretary to Howard Young”.

[Edit]
By 1920 the Youngs, with Francis Taylor had relocated to New York City where Howard opened the Howard Young Galleries showcasing work of various artists of the United States and eventually Europe as well. He and Francis went on art buying expeditions as well.

Howard was class conscious, when Francis Taylor wanted to marry the actress Sarah Viola Warmbrodt known on the stage as “Sara Sothern”, Young opposed the match, until Sarah informed him that she intended to quit the stage. Francis and Sarah located in London, to start that cities branch of the Howard Young Galleries, and it was here that they had their two children Howard Taylor, named for his uncle, and Elizabeth Taylor the actress.

Howard worth several million dollars, had a penthouse in New York City overlooking Central Park, as well as a home in Wisconsin, one in Florida, and one in Connecticut. Howard was a friend of President Eisenhower. When Elizabeth Taylor’s boyfriend Glenn Davis was going to be shipped to the war in Korea, she tried to get her uncle to talk to Ike, to let Glenn out of the Army.

According to Jimmy Rosamond, the late actress, Elizabeth Rosemond Tyalor, is my kin. Dame Elizabeth is in the Peerage. Over ten years ago Elizabeth put a short biography, along with the top photo, on the Rosamond geneaology website. Then it was gone. She may now be kin to the Stewarts, and her children may want to take the DNA test so we may gather our roses, bring them into the Rose of the World Garden.

I am looking for descendants of Philip Rosemond and Moses Morton Rosemond
who lived in Guernsey County, OH in the mid-1800s. This family descended
from a James Rosemond who lived in County Leitrim, Ireland in the early
1700s. Other members of this same family settled in Lanark, Ontario, Canada.
The southern Rosamond family is also said to be descended from this same
family, as are the Rosamond families in Australia and New Zealand. I am
trying to tie all the branches of the family together. The information on
the family in Guernsey County, OH is shown below. I’d appreciate hearing
from anyone who has any information regarding this family.
The reference for the earlier generations of this family is the booklet “The
History of the Rosemond Family” by Leland Eugene Rosemond, 1939.
Thanks.

The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is an order of chivalry established on 4 June 1917 by George V of the United Kingdom.[1][2] The Order is composed of five classes in civil and military divisions. In descending order of seniority, these are:
Knight or Dame Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (GBE), see Knight Grand Cross.[a]
Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) or Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (DBE)
Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE)
Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE)
Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE)
Only the highest two ranks automatically cause an individual to become a knight or dame, an honour allowing the recipient to use the title “Sir” (male) or “Dame” (female) before their first name (though men can be knighted separately from this and other Orders of Chivalry). Honorary knighthoods, given to individuals who are not nationals of a realm where Queen Elizabeth II is Head of State, permit use of the honour as a post-nominal but not as a title before their name. Awards in the Order of the British Empire in the Commonwealth Realms were discontinued with the establishment of national systems of honours and awards such as the Order of Australia, the Order of Canada and the New Zealand Order of Merit. Foreign recipients are classified as honorary members of the Order they receive, and do not contribute to the numbers restricted to that Order as full members do.
There is also a related British Empire Medal, whose recipients are not members of the Order, but who are nonetheless affiliated with the Order. The British Empire Medal has not been used in the United Kingdom or its dependencies since 1993,[3] but is still used by the Cook Islands and by some other Commonwealth nations.
The Order’s motto is For God and the Empire. It is the most junior of the British orders of chivalry, and the largest, with over 100,000 living members worldwide.[2]

Precedence and privileges

A Knight or Dame may display the circlet of the Order on the coat of arms, with the badge of the Order suspended from it.[b]
Members of all classes of the Order are assigned positions in the order of precedence. Wives of male members of all classes also feature on the order of precedence, as do sons, daughters and daughters-in-law of Knights Grand Cross and Knights Commander; relatives of Ladies of the Order, however, are not assigned any special precedence. As a general rule, individuals can derive precedence from their fathers or husbands, but not from their mothers or wives (see order of precedence in England and Wales for the exact positions).
Knights Grand Cross and Knights Commander prefix “Sir”, and Dames Grand Cross and Dames Commander prefix “Dame”, to their forenames.[c] Wives of Knights may prefix “Lady” to their surnames, but no equivalent privilege exists for husbands of Dames. Such forms are not used by peers and princes, except when the names of the former are written out in their fullest forms. Male clergy of the Church of England or the established Church of Scotland do not use the title “Sir” as they do not receive the accolade (i.e., they are not dubbed “knight” with a sword), although they do append the post-nominal letters.
Knights and Dames Grand Cross use the post-nominal “GBE”, Knights Commander “KBE”, Dames Commander “DBE”, Commanders “CBE”, Officers “OBE” and Members “MBE”. The post-nominal for the British Empire Medal is “BEM”.
Knights and Dames Grand Cross and Knights and Dames Commander who are not citizens of Commonwealth realms can be awarded honorary titles but do not receive the accolade and are not entitled to the prefix “Sir” or “Dame”, but may still use the post-nominal abbreviations. For example, American Bill Gates was made a Knight Commander, but is not entitled “Sir Bill” or “Sir Bill Gates”, although he may use the title “Bill Gates, KBE”. Bob Geldof, KBE received a knighthood in 1986 and although he is often referred to as “Sir Bob”, he is not a citizen of a Commonwealth realm and he is not entitled to use the prefix “Sir”. If recipients later become citizens of Commonwealth realms, then they are usually made substantive members of the Order, and are entitled to begin using the Sir prefix. For example, Irish broadcaster Terry Wogan was appointed an honorary KBE in 2005. He subsequently took dual British and Irish nationality, was made a substantive member, and is now entitled to use the name “Sir Terry Wogan”.[9]
Knights and Dames Grand Cross are also entitled to be granted heraldic supporters. They may, furthermore, encircle their arms with a depiction of the circlet (a circle bearing the motto) and the collar; the former is shown either outside or on top of the latter. Knights and Dames Commander and Commanders may display the circlet, but not the collar, surrounding their arms. The badge is depicted suspended from the collar or circlet.

The Art of Memory

One response to “The Men In Her Life”

  1. Reblogged this on Rosamond Press and commented:

When I died, I saw my two sisters adorned in The Jewels of Heaven. The hardest part of coming back, was, how could I tell them what I saw, and who they are. Christine and I had a powerful psychic connection, and she got the bigger hit. I took Vicki to a meeting with Baba Lover in WLA. Christine showed me her art she is doing in heaven. She had put holagrams on her canvas that took you into a workd within a world – where The Liars can not go. The lie that Shannon told me, releases me from the chains my family has put me in – especially my daughter. The replacement family understands when creative people die, they have to release all that they have gatherd. So like piggies they wait by the Death chute for all the magic to come tumbling down, and, it is a feeding frenzy. I offered Belle Burch the key to this Fairy Kingdom, but, she wanted to take it to her Anarchist Cave, and vomit it out for her pack – of ravenous wolves. She actually believe CONCEALING THE TRUTH had great value. Above is an image of a Angel, delivering a message. There can not exist a speck of lie within. The Truth, and nothing – but The Truth!
