Where Art Thou?

My twenty four year theological search for the Nazarites is titled ‘Where Art Thou?’ This was the first question God asked Adam and Eve in the Garden Kingdom.

My Dutch ancestors may be kin to the Zebulon a Lost Tribe of Israel, who lived in the Alsace before the came to Holland. The Rosamond family lived in the Alsace before they came to Holland. Are they the Zebulon, the Sea Peoples in the Torah, and thus they are the 600 Knights who took the Levite priest, Jonathan, to a city that would be named Dan? They stole the silver head that belonged to Jonathan that I believe is Baphomet. This has much to do with Salome wanting John’s head plated in silver.

The Tribe of Dan was to remain in ships, which suggests they lived on an island. I suspect that island was Malta. The Knights of Saint John on Malta, were rescued from the Saracens by Pope Adrian, perhaps ao the advice of his best friend, Gottschalk Rosemondt, who was the Adrian’s executor of his Will. All Adrian’s Papal papers – vanished! Did they speak of the Lost Kingdom of the Danites? The Phoenicians colonized Malta, that they named Maleth which means ” safe haven”. Perhaps Jonah was cast on to the shore of Malta by a whale, a Phoenician boat that had eyes painted on it?

Adrian was removed from Bosch’s ‘Marriage Feast at Cana’. The cartoon for this masterpiece is in the Louvre, and shows a Pope escorted into the hall of the swan Brethren by a man you I believe is Gottschalk Rosemondt, who was vanished by an artist who painted a dog in the Pope’s place.

Gottschalk was the Master of the Falcon Art College and employed a open rose in applying his name to his book on the confession. The Orange Queen, Beatrix, and her family wear a closed rose pin that the Swan Brethren wore. This suggests Gottschalk was the Grand Master of the Swan Brethren.

The Oera Linda books speak of Rosamond the Earth Goddess Mother and leader of the Frisians who descend from a Lost Tribe. There is a Sea Captain name Jon.

“In Rabbinic traditions, Ezra is metaphorically referred to as the “flowers that appear on the earth” signifying the springtime in the national history of Judaism.”

Judas-Paul of Tarsus invented the crucifix and the sacrificial lamb who died for everyone’s sins, but the Jews and the vanished tribes. God forbid human sacrifice when he held back the hand of Abraham who he instructed to kill Issac. Paul took the bloody lamb idea from Barnabas and ran away with it. Jesus was a Messiah-King of the lineage of David and Micah as I will show in my book. Davide came to won the Ephod and the silver head, through treachery – penned by a redactor – who replaced the Levite priesthood. John and Jesus were making it right.

The Jews did accept Jesus – and John. If John annointed Jesus the Messiah-King, then many Jews would believe in Jesus. The Lord’s Will was being done – until Satan-Saul-Paul came along ‘The Dark Prince’ who falsely claimed Jesus died in order to remove the sins of Pagans – and not Jews! The whole idea of SIN is a Judaic one. Pagans did not own a clue what a sin was. This is why Paul goes to such lengths to create new Gentile sins on Pagan terms – after claiming the Laws of Moses are useless. Consider the Panare Inidans of Columbia being told they killed and crucified Christ to fill them with guilt and sin.

The eucharist was invented by Titus-Timothy in order to keep the Nazarite Church of The Way at bay, they not allowed to get near a dead body, or drink wine. That the Orange Order refused to take the sacrament of the body of Christ, makes them the Chosen People in preparing The Way for a New Reformation amongst the Gentiles, and the Lost Tribes of Europe.

So be it!

Zebulon settled in the Netherlands [Holland], see The Tribes. The expression translated above (from the KJ) as “THE HAVEN OF THE SEA” in Hebrew is “Chof [pronounced as “Hof”] Yamim” meaning at the seashores or at the shore of the seas. I/3 of Holland is below sea-level, another 1/3 is subject to periodic sea-flooding, i.e. 2/3 of the country needs protection (in the form of dykes, dams, etc) from sea-inundation, i.e. they are dwelling on the shores of the sea. This is the only country in the world where this holds true. In Ancient Times a people recorded by Ptolemy called Sabulingoi dwelt in the region of Northern Holland-Frisia.

What art thou?
One of the elect!
Of what house?
The house of Israel!
Of what tribe?
The tribe of Levi!”

e narrative, as it stands in Judges 17, states that a man named Micah, who lived in the region of the Tribe of Ephraim, stole 1100 silver shekels from his mother, but when his mother cursed about it he returned them. The mother then consecrated the money to Yahweh for the purpose of creating a carved image and silver idol, and she gave 200 shekels to a silversmith who made them into a carved image and an idol. These were placed in a shrine in Micah’s house, and he made an ephod and teraphim, and installed one of his sons as a priest. A young Levite, from Bethlehem in Judah, who lived near Micah (some translations render the underlying Hebrew term as sojourning, though it literally means resident alien) and was wandering the land, passed Micah’s house, and so Micah responded by asking him to be his priest, in return for 10 silver shekels a year, clothes, and food, to which the Levite agreed.
The Tribe of Dan, who at this time were without territory, sent five warriors from Zorah and Eshtaol, representative of their clans, to scout out the land (most Biblical scholars now believe that the Tribe of Dan originated as one of the Sea Peoples, hence remaining on their ships in the early Song of Deborah, and not having Israelite land to their name,[2][3] though conservative scholars argue[citation needed] that the Tribe of Dan were migrating due to being forced out of their original lands by the Philistines). In the text, when the scouts chanced upon Micah’s house, they spent the night; when they chanced upon Micah’s house, they recognised the Levite’s voice (Biblical scholars believe this refers to recognition of his dialect or to priestly intonation[4]), and asked him what he was doing there, so he explained. Upon return to the rest of the tribe of Dan, the scouts told them about Laish, an unmilitarised town in fertile land that was allied with the Sidonians but was too remote for the Sidonians to be able to offer practical protection. The Tribe of Dan consequently sent 600 warriors to attack Laish, and during their journey passed Micah’s house, which the five scouts then told them about.
The five scouts then went into Micah’s house, and stole the idol, ephod, teraphim, and carved image, and took them out of the house, while the 600 warriors were standing at the gate. The priest asked them what they were doing, but was persuaded to go with them as then he could be the priest of a whole tribe rather than just a house. When Micah discovered what had happened, he gathered his neighbours together and set off in pursuit of the warriors. When he reached them he was threatened with violence, so, realising he was outnumbered, gave up the pursuit and returned home empty-handed.
The warriors eventually reached Laish, which they put to the sword and burnt to the ground. The Tribe of Dan then rebuilt the town, named it Dan, installed the idols, and made Jonathan the son of Gershom, and his descendants, as the priest. The idols remained in use until the captivity of the land and the idols remained in use until the house of God ceased to be in Shiloh. Scholars think that the former refers to the Assyrian conquest of the Kingdom of Israel by Tiglath-pileser III in 733/732 BCE, and that the latter refers to the time of Hezekiah’s religious reform;[5] an alternative possibility, however, supported by a minority of scholars, is that time of captivity of the land is a typographic error and should read time of captivity of the ark, referring to the battle of Eben-Ezer, and the Philistine capture of the Ark, and that the ceasing of the house of God being in Shiloh refers to this also.[6]

Do you uphold the principles for which our fathers died,
Or when the enemy is in view are you the one to hide?
Have you attained the golden steps, Faith, Hope, and Charity,
Or do you stand at Rome’s command to lap and bend the knee?
These are simple questions, to each your answer give
The world will prove its value by the life you try to live
If you’re a would be Orangeman then choose some other sect,
But if a worthy Orangeman you’re one of the elect.”

“In Rabbinic traditions, Ezra is metaphorically referred to as the “flowers that appear on the earth” signifying the springtime in the national history of Judaism.

Most candidates within the Orange Order are ignorant to the British Israelism theology that permeates the Loyal Orders (the Orange Order, the Royal Arch Purple and the Royal Black Institution). The theology of the Loyal Orders certainly belongs within the British Israel camp. British Israelism views the Anglo-Saxon Protestant people of the United Kingdom as being the physical descendents of believing Israel. They attempt, by all types of imaginative theories, to prove that some of the most notable men of Scripture (Old and New Testament) actually immigrated to, or visited, the British Isles in their travels. Some within the Loyal Orders hold that within this choice nation of Britain the Orders occupy an elevated position – the equivalent to that held by the Levites before the cross. They feel they are the literal descendents of the Levitical tribe and the guardians of their supposed ancient secret practices. They believe that the Orders have preserved much of their teaching and practices. British Israelism is an obscure theology.
The Orange Lecture
Every new Orange member (saved or lost) is personally informed when he joins the Orange Order that he is “one of the elect.” He is taught this in his introductory catechism. The Orange Order gives this false assurance to every single new candidate when they join the order, regardless of his spiritual state, assuring him that he is saved, saying:
“What art thou?
One of the elect!
Of what house?
The house of Israel!
Of what tribe?
The tribe of Levi!”
It certainly doesn’t take a theologian to see the danger and error of such instruction. It is no wonder most Orangemen have no desire to be saved.
(1) Every Orangeman is “one of the elect” because of his Lodge membership.
(2) Every Orangeman is “The house of Israel” because of his Lodge membership.
(3) Every Orangeman is of the priestly tribe – “the tribe of Levi” because of his Lodge membership.
It is astonishing that the Orange would be so naïve to take it upon itself to assure every new member that they have become “one of the elect” through simply joining the Order. It is even more alarming that professing Christians can sit comfortably within the Lodge while this false assurance is relayed to every member. This is done without the slightest protest from any of them, despite the fact that most would concede their Institution consists mainly of unconverted men. They must surely recognise the danger of indiscriminately bestowing the favoured spiritual title of “elect” upon every Orangeman without any due qualification. They must also see that this gives unregenerate men a false hope of salvation. The fact is – this is classic British Israelism!
The Orange Order poem “What are you?” ends with the lines:
“These are simple questions, to each your answer give
The world will prove its value by the life you try to live
If you’re a would be Orangeman then choose some other sect,
But if a worthy Orangeman you’re one of the elect.”
Every true Christian knows that the word “elect” can never be attributed to an unsaved man as he is still outside of salvation, and therefore outside of grace.
The Bible tells us that the elect of God refers solely to the redeemed, blood-bought, born-again, faithful, children of God throughout all the ages. 1 Peter 1:2 tells us that they alone are: “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ.”
This company consists solely of those that have come to God’s only appointed way of salvation – the way of Christ and the way of the cross. These are the only chosen people God recognises. Any Orangemen who are not born again of the Spirit of God are precluded from owning this sacred title, still being under the wrath of God and destined for a lost eternity. For the candidate to assume this title outside of salvation is for him to delude his soul and jeopardise his eternal destiny.
Having given every candidate a false assurance, the Orange lecturers then amazingly and systematically elevate each candidate to the household of Israel and to the priestly tribe of Levi in particular. This teaching only serves to confirm the strong British-Israelism thinking that governs the Loyal Orders. The difficulty with this instruction is that it gives unregenerate men titles and promises which do not remotely belong to them, and offers them a false sense of importance which Scripture does not apply to them. We must remember that this promise is given to every Orangeman, whether saint or sinner.
The Royal Black Lecture
When the initiate enters the 8th Gold Star & Garter degree, he is told,
“Why do you wear that emblem?
What emblem?
That Gold Star?
Because I am a Priest.
Of what order?
Of the Order of Melchisedec.
And of what tribe?
Of the tribe of Levi.
Why stand thou thus?
Because I stand on *prying ground.
Why standest thou on prying ground?
Because I am of the High Priestly Order.”
The Blackman is reminded in this catechism that he is of Israel’s tribe of Levi. This may seem odd to the outsider, but it is not strange to the Black candidate for this degree. He has been previously assured in his Loyal Orders’ trek that he was part of this priestly tribe. It would be imprudent for us to try and understand the meaning of this Black teaching without also taking into consideration other related preparatory teaching the candidate has already received on the subject in previous degrees. After all, these are essential preliminary illuminations in the candidate’s journey up the steps of the Loyal Orders. Like a child putting a jig-saw together, we must be acquainted with all the pieces before we can effectively put the puzzle together. In fact, it is only as we examine all the teaching the initiate has already received in preceding lectures, and specifically that which is related to the subject in view, that we can truly make sense of the beliefs before us and grasp their full import. British Israelism permeates itself through much of the theology of the Loyal Orders.!
The degrees of the Orange Order and the Royal Arch Purple Chapter (through which every Black candidate is required to travel before being eligible to join the Black institution), along with the previous seven Black degrees that he has already travelled, are all important inter-connected elements in enlightening him into the mysteries and secrets of the Orders. All the varying practices the candidate undergoes and all the peculiar revelations he receives on his journey are essential individual segments of the overall mystical whole. Leave a piece out and the picture remains incomplete or unclear. This is why those who only travel as far as the Orange or Arch Purple never truly get the full picture. All the varying degrees, colours and initiations the aspirant experiences serve as important interdependent parts of a gradually unfolding overall message. When one piece is put in place, it helps put the next in place. The more components which come together the clearer the picture he receives of the esoteric content and mystical nature of these Orders. The fact is typical British Israelism gibberish!

ZEBULON

“And the sons of Zebulon; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel” (Genesis 46;14).

Some Main Points We identify Zebulon as primarily the people of Holland. In general Israelites settled in that area: A people named Sebulingoi were recorded as being there and this name means “People of Zebulon” and other names confirm that. It was prophesied that Zebulon would dwell on the shores of the sea: One third of Holland is below sea-level and another third would be subject to periodic flooding by the sea if it was not for protection by the dykes. Most of the country is therefore on the seashores and it is the only country in the world about which this can be said. The symbol of Zebulon was a ship and this was the traditional symbol of Holland. for more points read on:

Moses (Deuteronomy 33;18) grouped the two brothers Issachar and Zebulon together, saying, “Rejoice, Zebulun in thy going out; and Issachar in thy tents”. From this verse it was understood11that Issachar and Zebulon had a symbiotic relationship, Issachar being involved in Religious and scientific intellectual pursuits and Zebulon setting forth in ships to trade and, with his earnings, contributing to the support of Issachar.  Other Rabbinical opinions12 say that it merely implies that Issachar was more inclined towards working the land and less given to venture out. Groups of Zebulonite origin are often found in association with groups from Issachar. Zebulon is identifiable with Holland. The people of Alsace and Lorraine (in France) come from both Issachar and Zebulon and their region forms a bridge from Switzerland to Belgium and Holland.

The symbol of Holland was a ship in popular tradition13 and a ship was the symbol of the former Dutch Republic. Many of the Boer (Afrikaans) population of the Republic of South Africa are of Dutch descent. A ship was also the symbol of Zebulon14.  Zebulon, in Talmudic Literature, was pictured as a merchant seafarer, which description fits the Dutch. Rotterdam in Holland is the world’s busiest port. Moses blessed Zebulon (Deuteronomy 33; 19): that he should “Suck of the abundance of the seas and of treasures hid in the sands”. Today both South Africa and Holland are on the seashores and a good portion of the earlier diamond wealth of South Africa was found in the “sands”. Another important element in the population of both Holland and South Africa is a portion of Naphtali of whom it was said, (Deuteronomy 33; 23): “Possess thou the west and the south”; – being the west of England (settled by Vikings from Norway) as well as both Holland and Norway.

The name of ZEBULON is also found in the Sabalingoi recalled by Ptolemy in south Jutland and northern Frisia in Holland. The name SABALINGOI in Hebrew means “People (Goi) – of – ZEBULON” since in Northern dialects “Sabalin” and Zebulon would have been alternate pronunciations of the same name: The “Z” was replaced by “S”; and “goi” means people in Hebrew. The Sabalingoi were to the north of the Sigulones (whose name in Hebrew means “Chosen Ones”) and of the Saxons and in turn, to the north of the Sabalingoi were the Chali sons of Jahleel  [Yachlayl in Hebrew, and the Ya would have been dropped] (Genesis 46; 14). Sered was a son of Zebulon as was Jahleel and also Elon. The Suardinoi (from Sered) were identified (by Kaspar Zeuss ,  “Die Deutschen und Die Nachbarstamme,” Germany 1835) as inhabitants of Holland. From Jutland and Scandinavia there were several waves of migration into the area of nearby Holland especially into Frisia so the Sabalingoi and Chali  moved to the Netherlands’ region.  Ptolemy may in fact be interpreted as placing the Sabalingoi in northern Frisia and thus in Holland . Pytheas20 (ca. 325 b.c.e.) is reported as describing Holland as peopled by Skuthai (i.e. Scythians) meaning (probably) Frisians who, in the 300’s and 200’s b.c.e., are claimed to have begun absorbing the native Celts. There followed several centuries in which the population fluctuated greatly. In about 200 c.e. the Franks invaded. Angles, Saxons, and JUTES from Jutland overran the land in 450-500 c.e. Consequently, Frisians, together with others, participated in the Anglo-Saxon invasions. After ca.600 c.e. Frankish influence re-asserted itself. Roughly speaking, modern Holland has Frisians in the north, Saxons in the east, and Franks in the south. It also has important continents of French Huguenots, Sephardic and Ashkenazic Jews, Malays, and Eurasians of mixed blood. In other words, the population is of mixed origins like the populations of most countries. This does not contradict the fact that a good proportion of the people (if not most) are descended from Israel or that amongst the Israelites a certain tribe has the ascendancy. Enough has been shown to prove that often groups of divergent backgrounds converging on one spot, are revealed as having originally the same tribal identity.

“The Panare Killed Jesus Christ, Because They Were Wicked”To misrepresent another religion for fear of people converting is one thing, but to do so toone’s own in the hope of gaining converts is another. Christian missionaries, unable toconvince the Panare Indians of the Colorado valley to accept faith in Jesus Christ took tocompiling books for the natives to read in their mother tongue, this was accomplishedduring 1975 and 1976.[12]The compiling of the books presented certain linguistic problems, solved in the end in a very cunning fashion. The problems arose because there are no equivalents in Panare for many words held as basic to the concept of the Christian religion. There are none, for example, for sin, guilt, punishment and redemption. Since Panare tribe lived as an isolated society in the forestsfor thousands of years, it is impossible to have famines, plagues were unrecorded and thewars that shaped our history were reduced to a ceremonial skirmish. The biblical dramas, therefore, were hardly more than shadow plays.[13]It was soon realized, however, that before the Indians could be made to accept repentanceand salvation – both equally obscure concepts to the Panare – one had to give themsomething to feel guilty about. The missionaries came up with an ingenious, yetunderhand, solution – translate and re-edit the New Testament in such a way so as toimplicate the Panare Indians in Jesus’ death! Gone from the Bible were Judas’s betrayal, the Romans, the trial, and Pontius Pilate. The text now read at the appropriate places:

According to Frisian-legends[3]` a certain King Adel was a descendant of Shem[4]k King Adel in India had three sons: Friso, Bruno, and Saxo. Legendary sources quoted by the historian Le Petit (1601) also mention Friso, Bruno, and Saxo and say too that they were descendants of Shem and lived in “India”. The term “India”, however, did not always mean the place known today as India but rather was more synonymous with “Cush” which term was sometimes applied to areas east of the Caspian Sea in present-day Central Asia and is the “Cush” (i.e. “Ethiopia”) mentioned in Genesis 2; 13. Zephaniah 3; 10 and Isaiah 10; 10 said that Cush was one of the places to which the exiled Israelites would go and the Aramaic Translation renders Cushas as Hodu(translated as India) and refers to the region of Hara in eastern Iran and surrounding areas[5]¤. Similarly, Le Petit located the “India” he spoke of in a land by the Emodian Mountains which according to Ptolemy were in the area adjoining the Caspian and Aral Seas, in east Scythia, to the north of Afghanistan and India-proper. Tzvi Chasdoi related that in Jewish tradition the area east of the Caspian was known as “Cush”. Jewish legends traced the Tribes of Zebulon and Nephtali to this area and placed other Israelite Tribes in the immediate vicinity. This is the area where Frisian legends say Friso, Saxo, and Bruno came from.

The legends relate how while still in “India” Friso married Hilla daughter of Agathocles king of Thrace. They were driven out of “India” and sailed to Greece where Friso became a student of Plato (427-374 b.c.e) and then joined the Army of Alexander the Great.

Alexander from Macedonia and Greece advanced into Asia Minor (modern Turkey) and from there continued into Persia, Bactria, the area east of the Caspian Sea and northwest India. In the east Alexander reformed his army and took into his Special Forces mainly peoples belonging to the Sacae-Scythian Tribes. From the Sacae descend the Anglo-Saxons and company. Le Petit also says that the brothers served under Alexander. A strong early tradition existed in Europe that the Saxons had been soldiers in Alexander’s armies. This tradition was mentioned in the time of Charlemagne King of the Franks (768-814 c.e.). Additional traditions and evidence connect the Anglo-Saxons with the ancient Sacae-Scythians some of whom  really had been in Alexander’s forces

A Even so Issachar was also linkeable with Sidon: The Tribe of Issachar were destined to dominate Switzerland and a people named SEDUNI once dwelt in Celtic Switzerland (ca. Sion) which, together with all Switzerland in medieval times, was named “Sidon”.

[2]G. “Sidon” (i.e. Zidon) could be represented in any one of a number of ways. There were the people of “Sidone”, scattered groups of whom seem to have usually accompanied Vandals from the Tribe of Asher which tribe had encompassed the original Phoenician City of Sidon. Switzerland was called  “SIDON” in medieval times. The coast of northern Gaul (France and Belgium) had been partly settled by groups of Phoenician culture and possibly SIDONIANS were amongst them since Sidon and Tyre were the major Phoenician cities also all  Phoenecians were called “SIDONIANS”.

The Ten Lost Tribes of Israel refers to those tribes of ancient Israel that formed the Kingdom of Israel and which disappeared from Biblical and all other historical accounts after the kingdom was destroyed in about 720 BC by ancient Assyria.[1] Many groups have traditions concerning the continued hidden existence or future public return of these tribes.
In medieval Rabbinic fable the concept of the ten tribes who were taken away from the House of David (who continued the rule of the southern kingdom of Judah) becomes confounded with accounts of the Assyrian deportations leading to the myth of the “Ten Lost Tribes”. The recorded history differs from this fable: no record exists of the Assyrians having exiled people from Dan, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun or western Manasseh. Descriptions of the deportation of people from Reuben, Gad, Manasseh in Gilead, Ephraim and Naphtali indicate that only a portion of these tribes were deported and the places to which they were deported are known locations given in the accounts. The deported communities are mentioned as still existing at the time of the composition of the books of Kings and Chronicles and did not wholly disappear by assimilation into the Assyrian populace, although a portion may have.

AND WHY DID DAN REMAIN IN SHIPS? ASHER CONTINUED ON THE SEA SHORE, AND ABODE IN HIS BREACHES”.
In the Hebrew it says that Dan dwelt in ships. The point about Asher as dwelling on the sea-shore and “in his breaches [Hebrew: “Mifratsav”] may also be understood to say that Asher dwelt on his sailing boats. We will speak more on this elsewhere. In our book “Lost Israelite Identity” we have a whole chapter dedicated to the seafaring activities of the Ancient Israelites and several more chapters  that discuss aspects related to this kind of activity.

[Genesis 49:13]

Poem: Zebulon
Zebulon means “Dwell in Strength”
Holland stretches sea-length
Protected by wall and dam
From Oceanic battering ram,
Against rising sea and flood.
They are of Israelite blood.
Many Living behind the dyke
Guarded from waters’ strike.
Dwelling on Shores of the Sea
A people proud and free.

This is the land of Zebulon
Sered, Elon, and Yachli-el
Sea-shores they built on
Living fine and quite well
Scenes of  sea and wind-mill
With Stork-bird of long bill
Fields of colored tulip-flowers
Nation of hidden powers
On the Rhine their towers.

In the north the Sabulin-goi
Once laid their national claim
Their children to find fame
With their ports employ
Sailors shouting, Land ahoy!
They sailed over the seas
Both to rule and appease.

With the Jews in Amsterdam
Pictured by Painter Rembrandt
Praying in Synagogue chant
Fellow Children of Abraham.
Ships in port of Rotterdam
Speakers of Puritan cant
Preachers of Gospel rant
In Frisia they saved Jews
From German Nazi claws.
Belief in a common cause
Of Bible and Torah Laws.
Sailors drinking booze
Children in wooden shoes.

This is all the Netherland
Founded on sea and sand.
From here went the Boers
To the Land of Kruger Rand
South Africa they did found
To keep their Ancestral Lores
Ever Faithful without pause.
To work and till the ground.

HaShem be with Zebulon
Let us all try to get along.
Psalm to sing as with song.
The Almighty depend upon.

Of the first historically verifiable rulers of Frisia, whether they are called dukes or kings, the last royal dynasty below is established by the chronicles of Merovingian kings of the Franks, with whom they were contemporaries. In these contemporary chronicles, they were styled dux, a Latin term for leader which is the origin of the title duke and its cognates in other languages (duc, duce, doge, duque, etc). They were independent until the death of Radbod at the earliest.
Finn, son of Folcwald, is a semi-legendary figure. He was killed by Hengest, who later migrated to Britain and founded the Kingdom of Kent. For rulers prior to Finn the later Frisians developed a rich store of legend and myth, and these too are listed here in chronological order.
After coming under Frankish rule, Frisia was governed by Frankish counts and by potestates elected by the Frisians.

Fictional rulers
A description of a course at the University of Amsterdam states “”One of the characteristics of Frisian historiography and literature from the Middle-Ages up to the nineteenth and twentieth century is the existence of a comprehensive corpus of fantastic, apocryphal and mystified historic works, which deal with the origins and identity of the Frisians. Well known examples are medieval myths of origin like the Gesta Frisiorum or the Tractatus Alvini, sixteenth-century humanistic scholarly books by e.g. Suffridus Petrus, Ocko van Scarl en Martinus Hamconius and nineteenth-century forgeries like the Tescklaow and the infamous Oera Linda Book.”[1]
The 17th century chronicle Frisia seu de viris rebusque illustribus, by Martinus Hamconius, purported to list the ancient kings of Frisia, beginning with Friso who had allegedly migrated from India during the time of Alexander the Great. A 19th century work, the Oera Linda Book (authorship uncertain but considered to be a hoax), embellished these stories further by describing an ancient and glorious history for the Frisians extending back thousands of years, during which time they were supposedly ruled over by a line of matriarchs known as folk-mothers, founded by the eponymous goddess Frya, ancestress of the Frisians.

We now come to the History of Jon.
Jon, Jôn, Jhon, Jan, are all the same name, though the pronunciation varies, as the seamen like to shorten everything to be able to make it easier to call. Jon—that is, “Given”—was a sea-king, born at Alberga, who sailed
p. 92 p. 93
from the Flymeer with a fleet of 127 ships fitted out for a long voyage, and laden with amber, tin, copper, cloth, linen, felt, otter-skins, beaver and rabbit skins. He would also have taken paper from here, but when he saw how Kalta * had destroyed the citadel he became so angry that he went off with all his people to Flyburgt, and out of revenge set fire to it. His admiral and some of his people saved the lamp and the maidens, but they could not catch Sijrhed (or Kalta). She climbed up on the furthest battlement, and they thought she must be killed in the flames; but what happened? While all her people stood transfixed with horror, she appeared upon her steed more beautiful than ever, calling to them, “To Kalta!” Then the other Schelda people poured out towards her. When the seamen saw that, they shouted, “We are for Min-erva!” from which arose a war in which thousands were killed.
At this time Rosamond the mother, who had done all in her power by gentle means to preserve peace, when she saw how bad it was, made short work of it. Immediately she sent messengers throughout all the districts to call a general levy, which brought together all the defenders of the country. The landsmen who were fighting were all caught, but Jon with his seamen took refuge on board his fleet, taking with him the two lamps, as well as Minerva and the maidens of both the citadels. Helprik, the chief, summoned him to appear; but while all the soldiers were on the other side of the Scheldt, Jon sailed back to the Flymeer, and then straight to our islands. His fighting men and many of our people took women and children on board, and when Jon saw that he and his people would be punished for their misdeeds, he secretly took his departure. He did well, for all our islanders, and the other Scheldt people who had been fighting were

transported to Britain. This step was a mistake, for now came the beginning of the end. Kalta, who, people said, could go as easily on the water as on the land, went to the mainland and on to Missellia (Marseilles). Then came the Gauls out of the Mediterranean Sea with their ships to Cadiz, and along all our coasts, and fell upon Britain; but they could not make any good footing there, because the government was powerful and the exiles were still Frisians.

I am hoping you will be able to resolve a very important issue confronting the very foundation of Christianity.
God’s way of testing Abraham by calling for the sacrifice of Isaac…and then the abrupt staying of the knife…was intended to demonstrate that God abhorred human sacrifice and would not accept it (Gen 22.12). When the great central Law of Judaism (the TORAH) was revealed at Sinai, it called for animal sacrifices. The slaying of an animal and the offering of its blood according to certain prescribed rites, symbolized God’s mercy to the sinner, for this would have been his fate. Later in the Law, Moses gives warning to Israel not to worship God in the manner of the pagans (through human sacrifice) for it is an abomination unto the LORD in any way or form it is practiced (Deut 12.30-32).
Turning to the New Testament, Jesus states that he completely upholds the precepts of the Judaic Law until its complete spiritual enactment through-out the world. This great authorization of the central Law of Judaism renders it supreme (Matt 5.18). Nevertheless, here is where a trouble-some contradiction arises. According to Romans 5.6-11, Jesus’ death was a vicarious atonement. But this is a human sacrifice which is expressly forbidden by the very same Law sanctioned by Jesus.

Lamb of God (Latin: Agnus Dei) is one of the titles given to Jesus in the New Testament and consequently in the Christian tradition. It refers to Jesus’ role as a sacrificial lamb atoning for the sins of man in Christian theology, harkening back to ancient Jewish Temple sacrifices in which a lamb was slain during the passover (the “Paschal Lamb”, Hebrew: Korban Pesach), the blood was sprinkled on the altar, and the whole of the lamb was eaten. In the original Passover in Egypt, the blood was smeared on the door posts and lintel of each household (Exodus 12:1-28).

And now Caesar, upon hearing the death of Festus, sent Albinus into Judea, as procurator. But the king deprived Joseph of the high priesthood, and bestowed the succession to that dignity on the son of Ananus, who was also himself called Ananus… Festus was now dead, and Albinus was but upon the road; so he assembled the sanhedrin of judges, and brought before them the brother of Jesus, who was called Christ, whose name was James, and some others; and when he had formed an accusation against them as breakers of the law, he delivered them to be stoned.[19]

Now some of the Jews thought that the destruction of Herod’s army came from God, and that very justly, as a punishment of what he did against John, that was called the Baptist: for Herod slew him, who was a good man… Herod, who feared lest the great influence John had over the people might put it into his power and inclination to raise a rebellion… Accordingly he was sent a prisoner, out of Herod’s suspicious temper, to Macherus, the castle I before mentioned, and was there put to death.[28]

Verily I say unto you, there are some of them that stand here, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom (Matthew 16:28).
Verily I say unto you, there are some here of them that stand by, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God come with power (Mark 9:1).
But I tell you of a truth, there are some of them that stand here, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God (Luke 9:27).

The remainder of this article will be devoted to the important question of authenticity, which would really require a volume for discussion. Catholics know from the universal tradition and infallible teaching of the Church that these Epistles are inspired, and from this follows their Pauline authorship as they all claim to have been written by the Apostle. There was no real doubt on this question until the beginning of the nineteenth century; but since that time they have been most bitterly attacked by German and other writers. Their objections are principally based on internal evidence and the alleged difficulty of finding a place for them in the lifetime of St. Paul.
Objection from the absence of Pauline vocabulary
Moffatt, a representative writer of this school, writes (Ency. Bib., IV): “Favourite Pauline phrases and words are totally wanting. . . . The extent and significance of this change in vocabulary cannot adequately be explained even when one assigns the fullest possible weight to such factors as change of amanuensis, situation or topic, lapse of time, literary fertility, or senile weakness.” Let us examine this writer’s list of favourite Pauline words of the absence of which so very much is made:

Here King Arthur lives within a far-off hollow mountain together with Loherangrin, the Swan Knight, and other notables — the Roman goddess Juno; Felicia, daughter of the Sibyl; and St. Brandon, who sailed east from Ireland to the “Island of Paradise” also called the “Promised Land of the Saints” never to be heard from again. This is the mountain of the “sleeping heroes” that appears so often in later medieval works.

It is known that Jan had five sons, four of whom were also painters. Bosch’s father, Anthonius van Aken (died c. 1478) acted as artistic adviser to the Brotherhood of Our Lady.[6] It is generally assumed that either Bosch’s father or one of his uncles taught the artist to paint, but none of their works survive

Swan Knight tales are centered in the multi-lingual areas of French Walloon, Flemish and Dutch speakers — now known as Benelux — and a bit southward into the German-speaking area of Mainz. Across northern France was the locus of fairy-related tales in Brittany and Anjou, also multi-lingual. This whole region between and including Brittany and the Netherlands contributed most of the participants in the First Crusade.

Interesting from an esoteric standpoint were the stories of the marriages of the Swan Knight and the Melusine, the female fairy type, with “humans.” In the case of the Melusine, her husband was instructed never to look at her while she bathed. Inevitably the curious husband would succumb to curiosity discovering his wife’s serpent form. The Swan Knight had the condition that his wife should never ask his true name or origin. Again, the wife would eventually break the agreement upon which the Swan Knight would take his leave on a swan-pulled boat headed for regions unknown.
In each case, there was a need to keep the real identity, the fairy identity, secret. Interesting also is the swan or bird identity of the male fairy, while the female fairy is serpentine — a pattern that we have discussed here before.

We can see then a good match between the volcanic, underworld paradise of the Swan Knight and Arthur, and the historical eastern kingdoms of Zabag-Sanfotsi; and I would also suggest the kingdom of Prester John.
Here we have the same region where Iranian legend places Kangdez the hollow mountain fortress of sleeping heroes waiting for the apocalypse, and the Sea of Milk where Visnu’s sleeping avatars await the end of the old era before awakening.
