Owning A Divine Empathy

As I died on McClure’s Beach, I saw a great Crusader army come out of the waves and march on shore. They were followed by exceedingly more modern armies, until I was in Vietnam, where I heard the last word uttered by dying Patriots;

“Mother!”

From our mothers most of us learn about empathy in a divine manner, for we are all born by mothers into the world. Mothers teach us to be sympathetic towards life and fellow human beings. When you are born into a people who mix war with religion, your divine empathy is under attack, because you are bid by your father to find a worthy adversary.

Twice in my life I played chess with an armed man for the life of another. One was the Mafia. I knew they were lost for the want of a worthy adversary. They had become their worst enemy. They had lost their honor.

In 1987 I closed my eyes and asked Jesus to come into the darkness created by my abusive alcoholic parents who warred with one another, constantly. He appeared in the darkness radiating sliver of gold. Having studied the Indian religions, I had read the description of enlightened beings, who radiated slivers of gold light. It is something to behold. Ask and thou shall receive.

Jesus said this to me; “Be not afraid, for my Father in Heaven and I are already working on these things. Spiritual Courage will be met with Spiritual Courage!”

Devine Empathy is the the fruit of Spiritual Courage. To love all, is the be the Horn of Salvation whom even the murderer on the cross dying next to you will cling at the Dark Hour of Death. For he shall behold the Kingdom of God.

“The capacity to know emotionally what another is experiencing from within the frame of reference of that other person, the capacity to sample the feelings of another or to put one’s self in another’s shoes.”[8]
