“Several decades later the poet Robert de Boron retold this material in his poem Merlin. Only a few lines of the poem have survived, but a prose retelling became popular and was later incorporated into two other romances. In Robert’s account Merlin is begotten by a devil on a virgin as an intended Antichrist. This plot is thwarted when the expectant mother informs her confessor Blaise of her predicament; they immediately baptize the boy at birth, thus freeing him from the power of Satan. The demonic legacy invests Merlin with a preternatural knowledge of the past and present, which is supplemented by God, who gives the boy a prophetic knowledge of the future.”
Vic used to tell his friends I was Rosemary’s Baby. When the Tea Party Redneck Racists did their HeHaw thing at the Federal building, I appeared again, I walking amongst these American flag waving racist screaming;
“I’m the Anti-Christ – NOT OBAMA! I’m a victim of Affirmative Action and Acorn. Russia -The Evil Empire of Celtic White Folk -and not the Federal Government, is the enemy of Jesus! We’ve been duped. How soon we forget! Shame on us! Ronald Reagan is turning over in his grave!”
These Country Folks were in shock! They couldn’t believe they were seeing a Soviet flag amongst all their red white and blue. Folks took my picture, a shot of my new sign with Biblical passages on it. They didn’t know if I was for them, or, against them. I was asked several times whose side I was on.
“I’m on my side, of course! I’m the tree huggin Anti-Christ. I must appear before you know who returns!”
