The Black Doll Revisited

A poll says Race Relations have gotten worse since President Obama took office. What is going on? This question is very topical as our Presidential Candidates are claiming they have the solution to improving relations between the races. Who is being more sincere?

On August 2, I received this message from the Director of Inspirational Gospel Sounds Choir.

https://www.facebook.com/inspirationalsounds/

“We strive to bring about unity among various racial and ethnic constituents of our community through the performance of African – American Gospel Music, sharing a message of Faith, Hope, and Charity.”

“THIS KIND OF THING GOES AGAINST OUR MISSION AND WE WILL PROTECT OUR MISSION STATEMENT BY WHATEVER MEANS NECESSARY.”

How can “the performance of African – American Gospel Music” bring ” more unity among all races and backgrounds.” Does Eugene’s Inspiration Sounds Gospel Choir really have the solution? The Lane Arts Council appears to be a BELIEVER, and have given ISGC taxpayer’s money to show how this is done. Perhaps the ISGC and LAC should be more charitable and pass on their beautiful  solution to the candidates of both parties. Unity and Charity begins at home. Surely Mrs. Vrzak wants to see Hillary and Donald kiss and make up – for the sake of Race Relations!

“The goal for this concert, which has received support through a grant from the Lane Arts Council, is “to bring a better understanding of gospel’s history, and therefore more unity among all races and backgrounds.”

Is the ISGC really a charitable organization, or, did they just claim them were so they can get funding from the LCA? I have a right to ask because my family is involved in the Real Arts, and made up much of Oregon’s History. Also, my newspaper, Royal Rosamond Press Co. was founded in order to ‘Protect the Arts’.

“Charity”

  • the act of giving money, food, or other kinds of help to people who are poor, sick, etc.; also : something (such as money or food) that is given to people who are poor, sick, etc.

  • : an organization that helps people who are poor, sick, etc.

  • : the organizations that help people in need

The show at the Hult Center was co-produced by the NAACP. It’s President, Eric Richardson, acted as a Master of Ceremonies, along with my childhood sweetheart, Marilyn Reed. Mr. Richardson has spoken at functions and expressed his opinions on podiums provided by the Democratic Party. I have yet to find any history of his speaking before Republicans. This is key, because candidate, Donald Trump, claims he has the right message for black people, and says 95% of black voters will soon be in his camp – where they will be UNIFIED! Surely Ms. Vrzak is all for this? Whatever it takes!

Eric Richardson removed about thirty posts I put on his facebook, just when the world media is talking about how the United States needs to have a more open dialogue on Race Relations, and how to improve them, which, is the mission statement of the NAACP. How is it that Mrs. Vrzak’s threat and demand has ended by relationship with several black people, but, most importantly, ended my fifty-five year friendship with Marilyn Reed. Something, and someone – if not several people – had come between Marilyn and I. There is a tug-of-war over her – and the things I have written about US. I suspect when I posted some of OUR history on Kathy Vrzak’s facebook, she was aghast! She wanted OUR history for HER CAUSE – THEIR CAUSE! Why hold fundraisers when your best-selling book is flying off the shelf?

The tug-of-war war over my first girlfriend was on years before we met. After Marilyn’s sister’s engagements was ended because of her race, Shauna married a black man. Marilyn is caucasian, who had blonde hair. Shauna is half Filipino. She was conflicted over her mixed race – before Marilyn was born. Now committed to her black husband, she thrusts the black doll in her half-sister’s arms. Is Shauna suggesting she should have a baby by a black man? Is Shauna afraid Marilyn will marry a white man, who will look down on Shuana and her husband – and their mulatto children? Mrs. Vrzak is married to a white man. Eric Richardson’s parents are of a mixed race, and are radicals, like Shauna, who lived in Paris and knew very radical blacks.

When Marilyn went to live with her sister, she was afraid of the black radicals that filled Shaunas small apartment. Some of them put the make on M, who showed me a topless photo her friend Les McCann took of her when she turned fifteen. Les was married to a white woman. M told me mulatto people have very complex problems because they are captured between two worlds. I suspect these “friends” are conflicted, and, I am not one of them. I represent ‘The White Choice’ Marilyn Reed put behind her when she married Kenny Reed, who Eric Richardson sees as his mentor. Shauna is Kenny’s sister-in-law. Does Eric admire the Reeds?

Marilyn and I became lovers when we both were fifteen. She lay all this mixed-race dilemma on me. She took me to see the movie ‘Black Orpheus’. We were together almost two years. I did all I could to own acceptance, and help Marilyn with the huge problem her sister lay on her. Then there is her mother’s Religious Abuse I had to endure, and solve, if I wanted to keep seeing the Love of My Life. On top of this, I had the complex and critical relationship with my mother and older sister. I was overwhelmed. Then Marilyn gave me the book ‘The Last Temptation of Jesus Christ’ to read. I asked her where she got it. She told me the drug store on Santa Monica. I believed she got it from Shauna.

I can not recall if Marilyn’s mother found that book under M’s mattress, before she forced us to go to three Billy Graham meetings, or after. When I did not go down and be saved, Marie told Marilyn I could not see her anymore, and, if I tried, she would call the cops and have me arrested.  She was going to bust me – for religious reasons! How like Ms Vrzak!

When Marie lost contact with Shauna, she wrote Eldridge Cleaver a letter after seeing him on the Pat Robertson show. Cleaver had just converted to Christianity. In a week, Cleaver found Shauna in Paris where Angela Davis lived. Marilyn told me Shauna knew some Black Panthers who adopted Fela. Eric Richardson posted a notice on his facebook about Angela Davis coming to Oregon to give a lecture. How can Mrs. Vrzak judge me too controversial to share Choir info on my blog, my registered newspaper? What about Freedom of the Press?

IT IS OUR RIGHT TO PROTECT OUR MEMBERS AND FRIENDS FROM BEING INVOLVED IN THIS KIND OF PUBLIC CONTROVERSY.

Vrzak demanded I remove any mention of the Choir & Friends from this post that can not be as controversial as Vrzak claims, because the NAACP, the Democratic Party, and the Black Panthers are against RACISM. So is the ISGC, because racism defies “unity” of the races, and is divisive, just like Mrs. Vrzak, because she knew she had driven a wedge between Marilyn and I. What is her motive?

That’s easy, in the “friends” book, film, and wishful thinking, all the dilema of Mixed Race Relationships, is dissolved, when alas Marilyn ‘The Little Blonde White Girl’ makes her final choice. She has been tempted too long. She chooses her black husband, Kenny Reed, over her first boyfriend, who is white. Kenny is the Black Jesus, and I am the White Devil in their book. The Last Temptation of Mrs. Reed & Friends has been overcome by ‘The Friend’s of  ‘The Collective Mission of Love and Grace’.

Get those bank accounts ready, because – this Charity of going Pro! They do not want me, or anyone else, to believe I am one of them, and we are on the same mission. I am not THEIR EQUAL. Alas, the tables have been turned! This is RACISM – folks!

I look at the photo of Marilyn and see a little girl who is being severely abused by her adult sister who bought into her mother’s religious addiction, fell in love with a famous minister’s son – who cast her out of their holy circle! Shauna can’t get back at those white people, so, she works out her agenda, her mental illness out on a innocent child – who does her best to heal these rents in our culture – and her family! Here is your Jesus Christ!

Shauna put her cross to bare in her sister’s care, because it was to much for her. The news bemoans Clinton and Trump are not worthy to carry this cross. But, here I am to testify, my beloved Marilyn has carried it to the – bitter end! This bitter game is – done!

Shauna knew her all-white sister had a social advantage over her, in every way. And thus, gave her a handicap to hold. Children are not capable of grasping complex racial issues, and coping with Religious Addicts!

I have come to take Marilyn down from – THEIR CROSS!

“Back in December, after Natriana Shorter, who is African-American, won the crown for Miss Oregon, Albert commented on a KEZI news story that, “I know this is going to sound racist and it’s not my intention. But I can’t help but think it’s awfully strange that a woman of color would represent [the] state of Oregon. The state that has one of the smallest amount of minorities of any race compared to other states. And yes, she is very beautiful.”

I tried to stop Krysta Albert from taking over our Eugene Celebration because I knew she was a Republican, and, this celebration was a Liberal Event. We used to have Old Hippies, Old Lawn & Grass Gnomes around, who would nix these attempts to vanquish our Peace &Fun Movement. but, they seem to have been snoozing, or, they are all dead. Hey, wait a minute! I’m an old hippie! And I’m strange? Sure, I’m strange.

Marilyn Reed did a shoot at Malibu Beach with her friend, Steven Silverstein, a famous fashion photographer who captured the most beautiful women in the world with his lens, including Carla Bruni who was the First Lady of France.

Marilyn got to know Steven through his father, a fashion designer. Marilyn was studying to be a fashion designer. She made the dress my ex-wife wore at our wedding. This was her ‘Train’ series, she inspired from those old movies of beautiful dames on a train. Debbie Boone wore the same dress on an album cover.

Soon after we met, Marilyn showed me a photo her friend Les McCann had taken of her when she was fifteen. I was alarmed, but, was assured Les was an artist, and his wife, Charlotte, was present. Les met Charlotte in France. She was a blonde cabaret singer. She taught Marilyn French when she would stay at the McCann house during summer vacation. At twelve, Marilyn was modeling.

Her sister Shanna was married to Les’ drummer, Ron Jefferson. Shanna later lived in France, and then Martinique, with Carlos Moore who wrote the definitive biography of Fela whose life in now depicted in a musical Off Broadway.

Marilyn was my first Muse. Days after we first kissed, we sought out a place where I could draw her and drink coffee. I considered myself a New Beat. We found a Tea House in West Los Angeles that later became a famous Folk Music spot where my friend, Bryan McClean learned to perform.

People were jealous of Marilyn and I – before we met! She tried to pass a note to me that fell into the wrong hands. In looking for the source of Rosamond’s beautiful women, then one must look for the hidden one, the lost one, the captured and concealed one. Sleeping Beauty was named ‘Rosamond’.

My famous sister had a mysterious imitator named Sara Moon. No one could find out who this artist was. There is a famous photographer named Sarah Moon, who Silverstein gives credit to for his success.

The muralist, and my late brother-in-law, Garth Benton, says Christine put images she found in fashion magazines in a projector and broadcast them onto an empty canvas. Here is the Genesis of the Rose of the World who looked through the lens of male photographers in order to capture her beautiful women. That Sara Moon turned out to be an old Iranian man, is fascinating. What is in a name?

If you take SARAH MOON you can make the name HRASAMOON, or, RASHAMOON.

I have taken the liberty to rename Marilyn, employing her father’s surname de Godfroi. This is a Huguenot name. Reed is “red” as in rouge.

Marilyn has made clothes with my sister and mother. My grandmother, Mary Magdalene Rosamond, made and sold hats in order to raise her four beautiful daughters. Some Hippies made their own clothes.

Marilyn was a good friend of Jayne Marie Mansfield, whose mother was a famous Hollywood Bombshell. After we broke up, Marilyn said to France with the son of the Hollywood movie producer, Joe Pasternik. A photo of Marilyn on the boat is seen above, as well as a photo of Jayne that appeared in playboy.

When I beheld the Hippie Commune with bedroom, I was in one of Marilyn’s bedrooms. There were Bohemian clothes in the closet, and an altar. Marilyn is a Bhudist and has a small altar room at the top of her stairs. Marilyn is the real deal, a Living Museum, too. The historic love we have for one another, needs to be captured and preserved. We are elusive butterflies.

Marilyn made the clothes we see in the top photo that I did a portrait of. If you would like to commission Marilyn to make your historic art-ware, then e-mail me at braskewitz@yahoo.com

ERIC RICHARDSON REGISTERED FOR ANGELA DAVIS LECTURE – PACIFIC UNIVERSITY AT EVENTBRITE!

Author, scholar Angela Davis talks at Pacific

Angela Yvonne Davis became famous in 1970 when four people died in a California courthouse shootout involving guns registered in her name.

Davis had been recently fired as a professor at the University of California in Los Angeles, due to her Communist Party membership and inflammatory language. Now she was suddenly a fugitive and on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted list.

Captured and imprisoned two months later, tens of thousands of people from around the world called for her release on bail. After spending 18 months in prison, Davis — an African American — was eventually found not guilty of all charges by an all-white jury.

Davis eventually returned to teaching at the University of California and in 1994 was given the distinguished honor of an appointment to its Presidential Chair in African American and Feminist Studies.

Now 70, Davis is a passionate voice for the abolition of prisons. Her drive for equality of all people began when she was a child, with a trajectory that has expanded but never wavered.

A professor emerita at the University of California, Davis was born in 1944 in Birmingham, Ala., and attended high school in New York City as part of a Quaker program to move students from segregated schools in the south to integrated schools in the north.

While studying in Paris in 1963, Davis learned the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham had been bombed and that one of the four girls killed was a family friend, Carole Robertson, and that another, Cynthia Wesley, lived behind her family’s home.

While French newspapers noted the violence against African Americans in the U.S., Algeria was fighting for independence from France.

This culmination deepened Davis’ passion for civil rights, which was sparked by her mother, also an activist.

With societal contradictions on both sides of the Atlantic, Davis developed a strong interest in philosophy and continued her academic pursuits in Paris while enrolled at Brandeis University.

She later earned a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of California and doctorate from Humboldt University in Berlin.

Davis went on to become a founding member of Critical Resistance, a national organization dedicated to the dismantling of the prison industrial complex, freeing up more resources for education. She continues to lecture throughout the world.

She is the author of nine books, including “Angela Davis: An Autobiography;” “Women, Race, and Class;” “Blues Legacies and Black Feminism: Gertrude ‘Ma’ Rainey, Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday;” “Are Prisons Obsolete?;” and “The Meaning of Freedom.”

Davis will speak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, in Pacific University’s Stoller Center. Her business manager speculated she would “most likely be talking about the connection between slavery and the prison industrial complex.”

The event is sponsored by the Center for Peace & Spirituality, the Tom McCall Center for Policy Innovation, the Center for Civic Engagement, the Office of Diversity, the Office for Student Academic Inclusion and Success and Student Activity funds.

It is free and open to the public but tickets are required. A limited number of tickets are available online at pacificu.edu.

This article is adapted from Alice Kaplan’s Dreaming in French: The Paris Years of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, Susan Sontag, and Angela Davis, which has just been published by the University of Chicago Press.

Angela Davis first arrived in Paris in the summer of 1962. She lived with two other American women in a chambre de bonne, six flights up, with a skylight view of the elevators ferrying tourists up and down the Eiffel Tower. The following summer Davis returned to Paris on a formal, yearlong academic program. It was the golden age of study abroad that began in the aftermath of World War II and continued for three decades, sending thousands of American students into French homes and universities.

There’s barely a book or article about Angela Davis that doesn’t mention that she majored in French and studied at the Sorbonne. But that period of education and adventure is always overshadowed by the dramas to come: Davis’s association with the Black Panthers; her dismissal from UCLA’s faculty in 1969 for being a member of the Communist Party; her appearance in 1970 on the FBI’s list of ten most wanted fugitives; her acquittal in the kidnapping and murder of a California judge; her research on the prison-industrial complex.

Evangelical said Obama was the Anti-Christ because he forced Americans to get Obamacare, or, go to jail. He is 666 The Beast.
